Poilievre renews calls to defund the CBC renewed after journalist laments death of Hamas leader | True North (tnc.news) We did a CBC thread not long ago so I don't know how much we need to talk about this, but just one more example of proof why the CBC should be defunded or possibly outright shut down. If you want to stick up for terrorists, you don't need to do it on public money6 points

Its interesting that even though this is a woman with natural hormonal differences, the right wing consensus is that it still needs to be dealt with. A lot of top athletes excel at their sports because of biological traits that exceeds what is normal. why is your natural level of testosterone different? I always thought this was about policing masculinity, but I think this case and others like it suggests that it's really about policing femininity. Britney Griner looks like a man they say. Caitlin Clark has a slightly protruding Adam's apple, etc. It's a bizarre fixation.3 points

Given that all women have naturally occurring testosterone, this would mean no women could compete in women's sports lol.3 points

So it's just like I said: not even @robosmith, @Rebound, @herbie, are trying to go along with the mainscum media's that Kamala didn't bail out violent rioters. They're trying to pretend that I accused Kamala of denying it, and I never said that it was her that denied it. All of these weasels here know that ther mainscum media is lying about Kamala 24/7 and they're happy as clams about it.3 points

I'm not sure why we don't have a thread on this. There has been a lot of controversy over two boxers in the women's event, that are men. It is clear cut, women and men are not on the same level physically and women should not fight with men in any situation. It is dangerous. But, allow me to muddy the water. Apparently both boxers have a genetic mutation called 46, XY DSD: “Morris syndrome is now called 46,XY DSD: androgen insensitivity syndrome. These people have an extremely high level of testosterone and other male sex hormones, but the testosterone does not affect the foetal cells that usually develop into male sexual organs because of a mutation in the androgen receptor gene. These people therefore have male chromosomes but are women socially and in external appearance. They do not have internal female sexual organs, and they form testicles that remain concealed in the abdominal cavity.” That is a lot harder to parse, in my opinion. They are women in their lives because they have every aspect of a women. Some can even get pregnant and have kids. But they are enjoying a lot of the physical advantages that men have because they produce testosterone at a higher level. I'll throw this out for the debate: Women's sports should be limited to people that are born female and have no testosterone. If they have this 46, XY DSD, they should be required to take testosterone suppression treatments.2 points

So the media is making something out of nothing. Never mind the POTUS threatened to kill the Speaker of the House. Trump, rightly, questioned what race Kamala is claiming this week: Trump questions whether Harris is 'Black' at conference of Black journalists She claimed she was Indian: California's Kamala Harris becomes first Indian-American US senator Then she claimed she was black: Eight years after Trump beat Hillary Clinton, Harris could be the first female president and the first Black woman to hold the nation’s top job, as well. But dont forget about being South Asian too: The Lesser-Known Side of Harris’s Identity: Asian American So what is she? She's mixed. And the only people that really care are the people that want to use her skin color as a qualification rather than an identifying trait. So she looks like she has a nice tan. So? What are her policies? That's what disqualifies her.2 points

Hmmm... and Khelif lost to Kellie Harrington (ireland).. so any supposed advantage seems to have not worked on that day.2 points

You know this person has lost several times to other women, right? This isn't a clear cut case of someone absolutely dominating the competition because of their genetic advantages. Do you not see how narrowly policing the boundaries of who is a woman based on physical appearance or rare conditions where someone has elevated hormone levels is detrimental to women in general?2 points

It if wasn't a huge burden on the quality of discussion on this board and elsewhere I would shut up about it, believe me. But the attention to given such things is a bigger problem than the lady-man athlete threat that middle-aged fat guys are so concerned about...2 points

That's all that leftards can do is accuse others of being liars. They can't try to name the lies because when they do they get put in their place. One of the main things that leftards like to call a "lie" around here is Trump's claim that it didn't rain during his inauguration speech. They'll say "OMG at least twenty droplets fell in 17 minutes: it was a deluge!" They compare that 'lie' to lies like "Russian collusion", mostly peaceful protests, gentle giants, just buying Skittles, safe and effective vax, kids need a vax, Trump referred to immigrants as animals, the laptop is Russian disinformation, no inflation, Joe is mentally fit, Trump isn't fighting covid, Cuomo is a covid hero, it's ridiculous to say that the Dems cheated on the 2020 election, J6 is comparable to 9/11 and Pear Harbour, etc. Leftards did nothing but lie and incite riots for the past 10 years - absolutely nothing - and their refrain is "conservatives lie". It's gaslighting on an epic scale. It's their only move.2 points

Typical MAGA baloney. Trump said, “She became a black person.” Now you’re backpedaling and pretending he said something different. He wasn’t even asked about that, he just blurted it out and it’s nothing but a racist tirade. Her mother is Indian and her father is black. The more you fools talk about it, the more ridiculous you sound. Give it up.2 points

It's weird that you would run your mouth like that to me, knowing that you're gonna get spanked again, little boy. 1. My post said the MSM is saying those things, not Kamala herself. Learn to read you illiterate twerp. 2. Name a Trump lie as big as "no inflation", Russian collusion, 'gentle giant', safe and effective, etc, etc... You can't. You've got "20 droplets of rain in 17 minutes". It's hilarious that you're backing the mainscum media while simultaneously calling Trump a liar. You're completely out of touch with reality. Buddy, you are the garbage that just spilled onto the page. And FYI, here's the CBS claim: https://www.cbsnews.com/minnesota/news/donald-trump-kamala-harris-minnesota-freedom-fund-donation/ 1. For sure Harris did help raise millions for a fund that bailed out rioters. 2. CBS's article doesn't cite a time when Trump blamed Kamala for donating her own money (not that it's better that she didn't: she just asked other people to give money and gave nothing herself. It's even more pathetic than if she actually practiced what she preached) Here's their Trump spiel: Quote from CBS regarding Trump: "Trump claims Harris helped raise millions and personally donated to a fund that got extra support to bail out protestors in the aftermath of George Floyd's death. Part 1 of that is totally true. Trump did make that claim, and it was 100% accurate. The bail fund that Kamala was pimping raised more than $30M in 2020. Part 2 of that is a straw man argument: Trump didn't say how she helped them bail that guy out, just that she helped them bail him out, and she quite clearly did help them bail him out, and many others. "One of the dangerous criminals Kamala helped bail out of jail was Shawn Michael Tillman," Trump said at a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina. "You know that name. A repeat offender who, with Harris's help, was set free. He then went on to murder a man on a train platform in St. Paul, Minnesota, shooting him in cold blood six times, lying on the ground." Another true claim, by the way.2 points

Sorry Michael , for i second there i thought i could keep up with the mental master of the universe....I'm trying to let it go, and bow to your superior intellect, but it is like an internal struggle in my mind between bad and good guys on my shoulders... on one side the bad guy, ( thats you Michael) is saying the entire climate change thing can not be proven, not by science, or intellect's much smarter than you or i...and that sometimes we just have to lean on someone's opinion "you call it logic"... And at one point of time someone once said the earth was flat, Unproven of course and was based on nothing more than their logic or best guess....Sorry for puking up my ridiculous theory once again, but i think they are very comparable. mine is ridiculous and yours is to be taken as gospel just cause....thats the new thing today...just believe.... I agree humans are causing climate change...."if" there was such a thing...who else could it be really....we are poisoning, and destroying this planet in every way possible thats a fact proven by science and smart people...is this damage effecting the climate, nobody knows or nobody can prove that at the moment... The whole climate change has driven many on this planet to be hysterical...I'm not one of them...with the extremists of climate change driving people away from even entertaining the thought that climate change may be real.... We have poured bils upon bils into a issue that has not been even proven to exist that is not good fiscal management....even the major car companies are slowing down production or stopping production of electrical vehicles...and our liberals have poured their hearts and minds into that project...leaving us a huge bill and nothing to show for it... Climate change was invented by the rich to force us into thinking our future depends on spending trillions of dollars to help them become richer...2 points

I learned a lot about the NDP when Bob Rae was running Ontario. After the NDP won a majority, I was curious about how they were going to perform. I'll never forget my coworker going on a rant about how we have to watch out for these 'effing' socialists. He was 100% right and after experiencing an NDP government for the first time, I've had an intense dislike for that party ever since.2 points

Senator Harris vocally throws around “F-bombs” and other profanity constantly in her berating of staff and others. The staff is in complete fear of her and she uses her profanity throughout the day. As Attorney General, Senator Harris instructed her entire staff to stand every morning as she entered the office and say, “Good Morning General. ”Gregory was also given instructions to never address Harris nor look her in the eye as that privilege was only allowed to senior staff members. Hillary and Joe are rumored to be the same way, along with Klobuchar.1 point

Yes we do, by changing the composition of the atmosphere we are changing the climate. Forests are burning because of drought and higher temperatures which are exacerbated by the amount of CO2, methane and other gases we are injecting into it. People like you will ignore it until that is no longer possible and it directly affects you. You don't think the climate is changing? Just ask a farmer.1 point

Well i've seen the same thing with women to be honest. And women do instigate physical violence more often than men. But at the end of the day If anything is going to change it starts with the discussion and then moves on to action. So shutting the discussion down on a woman who is obviously severely impacted by physical violence is horrific. The girl was victimized once, and now the government that is supposed to help work out the solutions necessary to prevent this kind of things just slam the door in her face. Can you imagine how that must feel.1 point

I don't know the answer. But I think it is worthy of discussion. I can sympathize with the situation. I am not really qualified to discuss how much of an advantage one has to have to be considered too good for a certain league. I don't have the scientific knowledge. I don't know much about boxing. I would think it would be more concerning in a pugilistic sport than basketball.1 point

In a move that was previously unimaginable in the United States, Trump tried to overthrow democracy and seize power in a coup attempt. Literally. That's not an imaginary monster. It's a very the real monster. And what's scary about it is that a huge chunk of America is apparently willing to go along with such behavior. You'll stand for the national anthem with your hands on your hearts. You'll sing the words. You'll salute the flag and recite the pledge of allegiance. You'll praise the heros who died to win and preserve our freedom. And you'll do it all lying through phony grins, because the truth is that you care so little about this country that you'll line up to support a man who has already tried once to end the American experiment.1 point
