I wonder if the same people who think you can't simply declare yourself to be an Indian and it be true also believe you can be a man and declare yourself a woman and it be true...3 points

Gross violation of the separation of church and state. This will go to SCOTUS, as they hoped when they enacted it. The lusty march to replace pluralism with theocracy continues from Republicans. Who knows what this twisted bench will do?3 points

What a load of dishonest crap from you First All religions say those same things. Second Most of the Ten Commandments are about forbidden religious rituals like worshipping idols and false gods and have nothing to do with things that are actual crimes Speaking of worshipping false gods the the you worship is guilty of adultery at the very least and I would argue “thou shalt not steal” also covers his attempt to steal the 2020 election. Does the 10 commandments cover failed attempts? All this law does is once again prove that Republican claims to be the party of freedom and local decision making is 100% BULLSHIT: the highest level state politicians in the far away capital mandate that the display of a religious text is now the law of the land under threat of legal punishment by the state. Republicans sound more like the Taliban every day.2 points

The violent criminals who suddenly identify as Indigenous once in prison | National Post However, some of Canada’s worst criminals are now telling Corrections Canada that they’re Indigenous in order to gain access to special, court mandated services for bona fide Indigenous prisoners. These services were created to tackle the worsening problem of Indigenous over-incarceration in Canada — but far from helping Native people, they’re helping non-Native organized crime. And the worst part is that Corrections Canada is playing along. Well, I think we may have just solved the question of why the first nations incarceration rate is so high. It's because a lot of the first nations aren't first nations 🙄 Yet another woke policy that has led to a completely bad end.2 points

How about you justify calling me a left wing lunatic and a pervert ,instead of just ignoring all the times I've made you look silly, then trying to dictate what I have to talk about. How about you support any of the ridiculous crap that comes out your fat mouth. Or just continue ranting like the fool you are, which I'm sure you'll do, since we've obviously established you don't really have anything of substance to say. Do you or do you not claim to be an educator?2 points

“You shall have no G-d before me.” How can you separate that from a church? I support the Ten Commandments, but the Government is not permitted to establish a religion. People came to America to flee religious persecution, which was mostly Christian vs Christian violence — they had war after war over religion. Ireland was at war over religion for hundreds of years, until Bill Clinton brought it to an end in the 1990’s. The government should not favor one religion over another. Religion and government should not mix.2 points

Yes, you repeated yourself endlessly, without understanding, so I got bored and let it drop. I don't care what you "agree to" or what you think privately, as long as you treat others with tolerance and respect. It's not hard. Just be a decent person. God didn't command you personally to go be shitty to people and antagonize them. If Luke wants to be known as Leia, it's no skin off your nose, or anyone else's. It's really none of your business. As long as they aren't harming anyone, let people be.2 points

It makes perfect sense in my head...and if you remove yours from your butt, you'll see the sense of my question. The US Constitution says that any issues not covered by it and not allocated to the federal government, lands on the state governments by default. That is exactly why the SCOTUS undid Roe V Wade. It was unconstitutional and even Ginsberg and other Libbie judges had admitted it. So again...do you support the US Constitution or not?2 points

Ill go moderate on this. The right answer here is to allow the Ten Commandments but not require it. That's the point of freedom of religion. The government should not be for OR AGAINST any religion. The left is against Christianity. They want to BAN the Ten Commandments. That is wrong as well. Just allow it to be hung, if that's the school's perogative2 points

Prior to 2017 there was no parole for repeat violent offenders. Sure, if someone was charged with a minor crime for the first time there was parole. But for violent offenses and repeats it was different. Trudeau changed that law in 2017 and now we are CONSTANTLY hearing about violent offenders who are caught, released that afternoon, and who reoffend in very short order. We need to change the law back to allow repeat violent offenders to be locked up permanently awaiting trial for the safety of the public. The challenge is there's too many a-holes like @herbie who would rather see young women get re-raped, police get killed, and women murdered than dare offend the poor violent criminal.2 points

To disrupt this dynamic, the authors propose a new teaching method, “drag pedagogy,” as a way of stimulating the “queer imagination,” teaching kids “how to live queerly,” and “bringing queer ways of knowing and being into the education of young children.” As Kornstein and Keenan explain, this is an intellectual and political project that requires drag queens and activists to work toward undermining traditional notions of sexuality, replacing the biological family with the ideological family, and arousing transgressive sexual desires in young children. “Building in part from queer theory and trans studies, queer and trans pedagogies seek to actively destabilize the normative function of schooling through transformative education,” they write. “This is a fundamentally different orientation than movements towards the inclusion or assimilation of LGBT people into the existing structures of school and society.” For the drag pedagogists, the traditional life path—growing up, getting married, working 40 hours a week, and raising a family—is an oppressive bourgeois norm that must be deconstructed and subverted. As the drag queens take the stage in their sexually suggestive costumes, Kornstein and Keenan argue, their task is to disrupt the “binary between womanhood and manhood,” seed the room with “gender-transgressive themes,” and break the “reproductive futurity” of the “nuclear family” and the “sexually monogamous marriage”—all of which are considered mechanisms of heterosexual, capitalist oppression. After the norms of gender, sexuality, marriage, and family are called into question, the drag queen can begin replacing this system of values with “queer ways of knowing and being.” Kornstein and Keenan make no bones about it: the purpose of what they call drag pedagogy, or the “pedagogy of desire,” is about reformulating children’s relationship with sex, sexuality, and eroticism. They describe drag as a “site of queer pleasure” that promises to “turn rejection into desire” and “[transform] the labour of performance into the pleasure of participation,” and DQSH as offering a “queer relationality” between adult and child. They litter their paper with sexualized language and double entendres, blurring the lines between adult sexuality and childhood innocence. In fact, as the queer pedagogist Hannah Dyer has written, queer pedagogy and, by extension, drag pedagogy seek to expose the very concept of “childhood innocence” as an oppressive heteropatriarchal illusion. “ https://www.city-journal.org/article/the-real-story-behind-drag-queen-story-hour2 points

I already provided a source in my post clearly stating this: At present (February 2024), the U.S. Army is manufacturing 30,000 155mm rounds per month, doubling its previous output of 14,000 rounds prior to the conflict. Moreover, plans are underway to build and commission new production facilities to further expand production capacity.https://www.army.mil/article/273152/us_army_and_industry_partners_mobilize_to_boost_us_artillery_production Maybe English is your second language, and I will have to provide a link in Spanish next time....1 point

🤨Not sure what you're not getting. What do you think the point is of taking on the establishment clause head on? Whimsy? Is it so that they can NOT establish a state religion? Why break down the wall if they don't intend to expand further and further into government? For decades, conservatives have relied on and used the religious right as a critical voting bloc, but in the process it's empowered and emboldened the religious right. They are not simply to be used anymore. They are demanding more of what was promised when that marriage was made. We'll continue to see more and more "biblical" legislation. This is not the first and certainly not the last, just the opening of the floodgate. It's simply not your place to agree or disagree with who a person is or wants to be. Not your business. If someone says "My name is William but I prefer to be called Bill," is it your place to "reject their lie" and refuse to respect that simple request? Is it your job to define their identity? Just address people how they prefer to be addressed. Basic civility and decency. It's not hard. Well, not hard for most people.1 point

Trump had a very interesting diplomatic methodology. Many have wondered if it's by accident or intent but it's actually not the first time we've seen it. Trump basically acts A little crazy and takes everything to one extreme or the other. Nothing is just "Good", it's the best most amazing thing ever since the beginning of time. Nothing is just "Bad", it's the worst thing that's ever happened ever and we should all lament that we were alive to see it. It gives his political counterparts a difficult position. They must either try and court happy trump and keep him that way or face the wrath and complete overreaction of angry trump. And trump runs around acting crazy and then his diplomats can run around behind him talking to foreign nations saying "Look, I can't control this guy. He's nuts. We really need you to give him what he wants or else I can't say for sure what's going to happen. He's not reasonable you see! So just give him what he wants before he blows us all up!" And surprisingly that's an effective tactic. As long as the other side genuinely believes that your guy is unhinged and that normal diplomatic techniques won't work then you can very frequently get away with a lot and everybody sits back nervously not wanting to provoke anything. And lo and behold, sure enough nobody was willing to risk doing anything while trump was president. You can complain about the method but you can't complain about the results.1 point

Look, I'm fine with you dumbasses trying to make Biden look sharp and engaging; I think it's great, because once Trump gets that decrepit old sack of shit dust in a debate, it'll be at least 5 more points for Trump in the polls. We NEED the hair sniffer to stick around; he might be the single greatest guarantor of a Trump victory in November.1 point

Hmmm...why Canada Matters... Canada is a vast land with multiple "cultures". The Newfies/ Atlantic culture (which personally I love)...the Quebec culture (which I think should be preserved but WITHOUT the id1otic imposition of those silly language laws which only serve to stifle Quebec's economy)...the Ontario culture (a sense of superiority over all of Canada)...the western culture (from which I sprang forth)...and the BC culture ( Which frankly I find confusing and like Quebec, self-diminishing)...The various native cultures (which should be preserved but not at the expense of progress and certainly not this segregated chickenshit we experience now). On top of the ground are vast natural resources that Pixie-Dust is trying to curtail. Under the ground is a mountain of natural resources that again...Pixie-Dust is trying to curtail. And then there's the newly usable Northern Passage. IMO, Canada needs to quietly keep its head down, develop our wealth, and watch our economy and standard of living take off. We don't need to "matter" militarily to anyone. But if we get Pixie-Dust out of the way, we can make a HUGE impact on the global economy and on all Canadians.1 point

Because large numbers only come from places where migrants can reach North America easily by land or sea ie Americas and the carribbean, When you have to arrive by plane and clear customs it’s a lot harder to arrive in large numbers And a lot of those places like NK are notoriously hard to leave Also there’s the fact that nobody has ever attempted to claim hordes of illegals from those countries are arriving in the US.1 point

There should be no parole. In fact a return of Capital punishment for violent crimes for repeat offenders (including rape) will solve this problem to a good extend.1 point

The reason is because the only remedy is impeachment. The SCOTUS is supposed to be self-regulating, because of the Constitutional separation of powers. Thomas has clearly abused it and needs to be impeached.1 point

When every school, every government, and every business falls into line and embraces every single thing this 'few' did or said or wanted it's not hard to believe it's actually the majority. Though, of course, it isn't. People are simply cowed and browbeat into not openly disagreeing.1 point

So you resort to comparing DUIs to violent criminals and a catch and release system so you can deny any change to the Criminal Code that almost no DUIs are charged under? Most places have Provincial Traffic Codes that nail you hard and fast and scoop your car and licence instantly, without tying up the damn federal court system. And the pisstanks are griping they've been denied due process. Whine for the sake of whine, so long as you make something ant-Trudeau, right?1 point

"Audacious" Right. Escalating rhetoric, on all points of the political spectrum, should be concerning to everyone. Even on this forum, ostensibly a reflection of the better public, the trend is to reject politics and to demand the end of compromise. My lefty friends in Facebook posting cartoons of guillotines, do so without irony. A candidate muses about jailing, and now killing opponents, and we all have a good laugh. How sophisticated we are. After all, history never repeats.1 point
