  1. Eh, he's a polished, well-spoken politician who quietly holds extremist views. Which is worrisome. I'd prefer a bombastic fool like Trump or MTG represent those positions than someone clever enough to make specious arguments that better sell bad policy to the casual voters.

  2. When a news org wants you to take a side, they give the victims from their chosen people faces and backstories, and the victims from the other side remain anonymous, mere numbers. "Care for these innocent, beautiful people - forget about those ones." Context goes out the window when they're discussing victimhood. Relevant facts are omitted in favour of sensationalized anecdotes. I just heard the "story" about a nice old Palestinian guy who was just out picking olives when a bunch of racist Jews killed him. 1) No one knows if that even happened 2) That was literally the experience of every Jew in the ME while the Ottoman empire was busy doing everything that Israel is accused of for about 500 years. There are also thousands of stories about Israelis who were in their beds when terrorists came for them. We're just not hearing about them anymore. They're no longer relevant as far as CBC is concerned. Now CBC is constantly bringing us the stories of people who've lost loved ones in Gaza: "I've lost 16 family members. I've lost 34 family members..." Hmmmmm... Yup. Sure ya did. And when you think about their loss, do you ever wonder: why was this war was started in the first place? why didn't they evacuate when they were given notice that the Israelis would be targeting the terrorists among them? Is it because they were prevented from leaving by Hamas? were any of your dead family members terrorists, or terrorist supporters? why is it that the terrorists get to live in bunkers and the civilians have to be exposed to danger? With the Israelis it's the other way around - their soldiers are out fighting while their civilians hide... Let's keep in mind: Hamas started this by targeting women and children - not soldiers Hamas has been firing rockets at Israeli civilians this whole time Hamas's stated goal is to wipe Israel from the map, and killing Israeli citizens is their desired path to victory Hamas soldiers individually target women and children, burn them to death, rape them, kill them, and take them to use as meat shields. The Israelis don't target civilians at all The only reason there isn't peace right now is because of Hamas's own bigotry - the Palestinians have always rejected a two-state solution. They will only be happy with a muslim-controlled state with people of other religions as second-class citizens. CBC is busy trying to brainwash people into believing that Hamas should be allowed to commit a massive terrorist attack against Israel and then run, and Israel should just chuck their burned corpses into a hole and just wait for the next attack. This "Hate Israel" approach will just snowball, because the muslim world is not taking any accountability from the other side. The CBC's cute whitewashing of the bigotry behind Hamas violence, their selection of innocent victims, and completely ignoring Hamas's culpability in the deaths of the Palestinians ignores the reality of how many more Israeli children will die in their beds if we keep pretending that Hamas is not evil. When I see rage against Hamas and against their goal of wiping out Israel, I will start to hear their words. When I start to hear them talking about Israel's right to exist I will hear them. Right now I just see their bigotry. CBC is just fanning the flames.

  4. The thing that these half-wit Chud seekers don't understand is that their vapid identity politics crusades aren't that popular. By destroying the checks and balances, and arms length agreements with institutions, they're opening the door for it being used against them down the line. They're going to be going after religious folks within a generation, using the notwithstanding clause liberally...

  7. In Trump’s NY civil fraud trial yesterday, defendant Trump became visibly disturbed after his motion to dismiss the trial was rejected by the judge. The judge has already ruled that Trump is guilty in this case, so there was zero chance the judge would dismiss a case after a guilty ruling. Trump then left the courtroom, told the press that he’d won, and then said the trial should be dismissed. What is going through this man’s mind? Surely his lawyers told him that a motion to dismiss would stand no chance, yet he demanded it anyway. And he thinks his case will go better if he continually insults the judge. Usually, when you see courtroom videos of defendants insulting the judge, it’s right before or after getting sentenced 20 years to life. This is not the behavior of a sane, rational person. Add to that, he’s been fined twice for violating a gag order protecting civil servants of the court. It’s unbelievable to imagine that people still think this man should be President; he’s lost his marbles. And he’s about to lose all his money.

  10. They wouldn't have started this war if they weren't going to get some really juicy videos of Palestinian moms and dads crying. They can't generate enough hatred towards Jews to get a genocide started without that footage. If the leaders of Hamas and Iran thought that the Israelis had the ability to exclusively and effectively target higher-ups in their ranks without harming civilians there would be everlasting peace. Trump didn't kill 25,000 terrorists to calm the storm, he just killed Suleimani and a few terrorist leaders, then we heard crickets.

  11. Sure, why don't you get rid of licensing and all the testing and other regulations that go on with automobiles. They won't be any more dangerous. Who needs a licence, anyone who has never driven in one should be able to jump into a car with 500 HP and go out and play in the traffic.

I wouldn't waste much effort as all those live rural and vote Tory or NDP anyway. Or they dump the diesel from their big rigs into their home oil tanks and write it off 100% as a business cost.

  15. Unfortunately Amnesty inter national does not bring war crime charges, any one in the media can scream these are war crimes...they have no professional training in what composes war crimes they can assume like you and me, the real question you should ask is, are those that can bring charges are they listening , investigating, right now there is nothing being heard or done with that information... Amnesty inter national is just one voice in the wind that counts no more than yours. War should be a crime, but whom is going to police the world? man was built everything around violence, it's in our laws , it is how we settle disputes, it is how we spend most of our time, and money...

But I knew it worked poorly decades ago when fisheries coast to coast collapsed under Ottawa's mismanagement. Oh but of course there were those billionaires who did quite well so that's something I suppose.

  21. But this happened over the decades. I'm interested in a real, meaningful answer: what is the rationale? Who thought about that? And who has decided and why? Surely this continued under governments of all strides and stripes. Why though? What is the rationale and who/what is driving it?

Distrust over the covid vaccine, I should add. I'm not talking about going to the grocery store. But you, as ususl, seek to focus on the poster as singular in their view and somehow connect it to everything else. You see the problem there? Hope so. It's a nasty liberal trait you need to rid yourself of, if you really want to join the conservative club. But nah. You won't. Because you're too old now and set in your ways. 23. I would caution posters to beware of prolific antisemites and Israel haters who inhabit this forum. I have witnessed them before. They have a very different view of the world and are constantly smearing our western Judeo-Christian culture and favouring the Islamic culture and Islamic world. Whether they are actually Islamic agitators disguised as westerners is hard to say. Anything is possible in this day and age as the internet is accessible to anyone. The Ottoman Empire was an Islamic empire for the spread of Islam and control of as much of the world as possible. Western Judeo-Christian civilization has had to fight and defend against the expansion of the Ottoman (Islamic) Empire for 600 years in eastern Europe. There have been endless wars in various areas between western Judeo-Christian forces and the Islamic world in the form of the Ottoman Empire. The struggle for control of Israel has been part of that for a good part of the last thousand years or more. Remnants of the Ottoman Empire still exist throughout the middle east in the form of many Islamic countries with many terrorists and jihadists. It has also spread well into northern Africa and made it's way south to quite an extent. Much of the world is antisemitic. This is proven by the long list of anti-Israel votes by the U.N. The reality is western Judeo-Christian civilization's only ally in the middle east is Israel. The CBC is an enigma and impossible to figure out. They give voice to Islamists, first nation red power activists, LGBTQ progressives, and Socialists regularly. They had a Muslim woman in a hijab as a host on their one hour daily political program for some time until she suddenly was off the program without explanation. The CBC is about as far from our historic Judeo-Christian culture as it can get. It is basically an opponent of Biblical Christianity. It is certainly not a supporter of our historic Judeo-Christian civilization. Neither is the liberal-NDP alliance for that matter. Canada is actually a weaker ally of the five eyes in defending western interests and civilization. It seems many Canadians are naive to the influence of Communist China and the growing influence of Islam in the west. Joel Kotkin: Jews are being abandoned by the left (msn.com)

  27. Did you read the source i gave you...do you understand why in the beginnings of Israel terrorism was used mostly against British targets which later turned to Palestinians becasue they and the rest of the Arab coalition blockaded the Jewish cities to starve them out...Israel stopped terrorist attacks as a mode of operation becasue they had to get organized to fight, well equipped armies...to do that you need another army... Since then Israel has been fighting for their basic right to exist...which has forced them to develop their military into the machine it is today.. if their was no threats there would be no need to have such an army... Every target Israel strikes has been identified as a military target...civilians are collateral damage, which is legal in mordern warfare...many other measures have been taken to reduce civilian deaths... on the terrorist side they went looking for civilians not military targets but the soft targets like women and children, and murdered them...these acts are against inter national law and the conventions... if they were not Israel would right now be killing anything with a heart beat...and it is not.... The people in these demonstrations don't have a clue what they are protesting about. Palestinians are masters at creating their own narrative, twisting it to suit them, the Hospital rocket attack was one of those examples...besides do you real think that any Muslim would need an excuse to protest anything Israel did or did not do...These are the same people that celebrated the killing of thousands of Israelis civilians...ya nice guys you stick up for... Genocide....this is not genocide...what the turkey done to the kurds and is still doing is genocide, what Somalia war lords did to their people was genocide, unfortunately there are hundreds of examples of genocide in our history, and this is not one of them... People pick and choose what they want to be anger with, do you hear any media cover over what turkey is doing to the Kurds, what do you think they are doing in Syria, fighting ISIS....Even the Canadian government who was training the Kurds, to fight ISIS, stopped becasue of what turkey was about to do, and they just left them hanging in the wind to be slaughtered by Turkish military...there are dozens of examples of genocide going on around the world in the last 5 years, and we just shrugged our shoulders...but when Israel is mentioned people lose their minds... You'll have to start doing some more research to get the full story, I've tried but i am not getting any where, you and many others have already made up your minds on this topic...that and a 5 bucks will get you a coffee at star bucks...the truth is always some where in the middle ground, read both sides of the story. Nothing you or i think, will change the fact that Israel is not going to stop until they have destroyed Hamas... I wish you luck on your research...

  32. Trump is acting just like a Mob Boss would, very.like in his attitude as All Capone did. Rallies trial was a sensation at the time, its recorded history and more than a few mob organizations since then...which occurred October 5th 1931. Like Trump Capone came into Court smiling, wearing the top suit of the day, and like Trump he ordered his attorneys to not obstruct him when he threatened witnesses and the Court itself and his attorneys let him. Read also the man who really took him down: Frank Wilson, the Treasury Agent. Fascinating reading and quite a lot of parallels in the two organizations and the trial evidence. Capone was convicted, sent to The Rock..Alcatraz prison on an island in San Francisco Bay. What dud they get Capone on most? Tax evasion.

  33. Well it has been for about 3000 years now - so i'm not alone. You just think that way because it justifies your jew hatred. And yet again - you can't make your point without lying. The bombing is far from indescriminate. Every location is believed to be a military target. And meanwhile - Gaza is still launching missiles at isreal ever single day. Which actually IS indiscriminate bombing given their accuracy. Yet - not a word from you about that. So lets recap You: Targeted military strikes at targets that were deliberately placed among the civilians = 'Indescriminate" and very very bad. Also you: Randomly firing rockets at civilian population centers hoping to kill people = perfectly fine, no cause for concern. You are a colossal hypocrite and dishonest. The civvie casualty rate would be about 50 times higher if it was indiscriminate or civillian targets. But hamas put its' weapon and military systems where it would cause the most casualties if attacked. And you've got not a single word against hamas who started the war killing civvies deliberately and is STILL trying to do so every day.

  34. This article shows the bias of the BBC and CBC. quote ‘Definitely a value judgment’ Re: CBC tells journalists to not call Hamas ‘terrorists’ in leaked memo — Oct. 11 Why do the CBC and the BBC pander to terrorists? Is it because of the “soft bigotry of low expectations,” that ingrained belief by the progressive left that one must not judge others too harshly, especially when they are not as intelligent, sophisticated and worldly wise as you? Or is it because they sympathize with their cause and believe that one person’s terrorist is another’s freedom fighter, and thus there can be no such thing as a terrorist, because it is all so very subjective? Take for example the 9/11 attacks on the U.S. Could those acts not also have been deemed the actions of freedom fighters wronged by the evils of imperialist, colonial powers? Or, lastly, perhaps they are just acts of evil by racists or antisemites or bigots or barbarians? Yet, with all these choices, the Beeb and the CBC choose the one least condemnatory of the perpetrators. Does that not tell us something? It is definitely a value judgment and one about which justice-seeking Brits and Canucks should be asking ourselves … why? unquote Letters: 'Why do the CBC and the BBC pander to terrorists?' (msn.com) Is this really the kind of public broadcaster Canadians want? Can they be trusted with anything they broadcast or report? If they are this heavily biased, how can they be trusted with anything they broadcast? Yet it is the taxpayers that pay billions of dollars for this public broadcasting service. How is this educating (or brainwashing) Canadians, including the young people? It will be setting the future course for Canadians in the world. This is no small thing.

  35. Listen, I actually met Professor Philip Stott myself about 20 years ago and attended his week of slide presentation on creation versus evolution and the long age claims. His slide presentation was remarkable and definitely casts doubt on evolution and long age from a scientific point of view. Different aspects of it each night. He is a scientist-mathematician from South Africa. He was an atheist until 1976 when he was converted to Jesus Christ. It totally changed his world view. "He has been awarded doctorates by Reformation International Theological Seminary and by the Central University of Technology, Bloemfontein. He has practiced as a consulting engineer with several South African consulting firms. After many years as a staunch atheist, Philip Stott was converted to Christ in 1976." 38. The only false narrative here is yours. There is plenty of humanizing coverage of Israeli and also Canadian victims of the Hamas attack. You’re just angry because Palestinian victims are also being humanized and you believe that as a race none of them deserve to be seen as human. You honestly believe that a news editor should be spiking a story about Palestinian victims because of the alleged and misleading conduct of the Ottoman Empire? And by the way Jews were better treated by the Ottomans than by European Christians and Jews actually fled TO the Ottoman Empire from Christian persecution in Europe “Even though Jews were placed under special restrictions in the Ottoman Empire, there was still a vibrant Jewish culture in certain regions of the Empire. This was especially true for the Sephardic Jews, who had large amounts of political and cultural influence in the Ottoman Empire….The Ottoman Empire became a safe haven for Jews from the Iberian Peninsula fleeing persecution (see Alhambra Decree). By the end of the 16th century, the Ottoman Empire had the largest Jewish population in the world” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_in_the_Ottoman_Empire#:~:text=The Ottoman Empire became a,s combined figure of 75%2C000.

  39. None of the charges against Trump have been dropped. Ninety-one criminal felony charges are pending against him and they’re all going to trial He filed YESTERDAY to have is civil fraud trial dropped. The judge said NO. In fact, the judge already ruled that Trump is guilty in that case, so why would the charges be dropped? The Trump University case was not dropped; he lost $25 million in that case. The Georgia election fraud case is active. No charges dropped. Not one. Stolen documents case is active in Florida and not one charge dropped. Federal election fraud still active and not one charge dropped. E. Jean Carroll case still active, no charges dropped and he’s already been found guilty of rape, fined $5 million and has another round to go in which the only determination is damages… he’s already guilty, as he is in the NY civil fraud case which may cost him $250 million. You can view the published indictments from the respective courts of record. It’s all there. All going to trial, not one charge has been dropped.

He shouldn't have been allowed access to guns, for sure, but: 1) That doesn't prevent him from getting access to guns illegally 2) It doesn't stop him from mowing people down with a van 3) He can still watch Khadr's bomb-making videos The fact that he was such a blatant risk and was let out so quickly is the main issue here. Criminals and mental health patients aren't taken seriously enough in the US. I recently saw a NYC Police Chief saying that, on avg, murderers in NYC have at least 7 prior violent charges on their rap sheet. The cops are doing a decent job of rounding these guys up, but the system keeps putting them back out there.
