  1. Not really. It is simple logic. Logic points to a intelligent Creator because nothing can NOT create something and the universe is immensely complex. Give any logic for any other explanation if you have it. There is none. This is simply logical deduction.

  2. Donald and his co-conspirators hatched and implemented a plan to install fraudulent electors in multiple states. He's not going to walk away from that Donald has roamed the halls of justice with impunity for so long, I'm not sure that, even now, he's aware of the mountain of shit of his own devices that's coming for him. The "scum" you are up against, is you

  4. It's tragic how narrow the view is for these people. Tens of thousands of religions in the world and they think that: A. There's one "true" religion B. They were lucky enough to find truth in an old book assembled by old men There's not a bit of logic or sense to it, but they'll fall all over themselves to try to rationalize it. I say if you're the sort of person who finds religion a comfort, just enjoy it. They should spare themselves the embarrassment and spare the rest of us tendonitis from facepalming

  5. No, it's not tribalism. It's not right or left its not echo chambers, its not any of that. When you are a dishonest person - when you are the kind of person you choose to be - then others will not trust you. If you word means nothing to you, then your opinion means nothing to others. It has been this way since the dawn of man. If you wish to be respected you must conduct yourself in a respectable fashion. You choose not to. That's not me 'not helping myself'. Thats me recognizing what you are and not having any respect for you, and that's what ALL humans will be like with you if you behave that way with them. Sorry kiddo. Your parents should have taught you the value of honesty and integrity and they clearly did not. You can't blame that on me or anyone else.

  6. GDP per capita doesn't really tell you anything about how the wealth is distributed. Middle class and lower class wages may not have gone up a penny who knows, and cost of living has gone up. If that were true, people would be getting poorer.

  8. It's not a myth. The Bible gives lots of evidence it came from God. Those who don't believe it are condemning themselves for eternity unless they repent. The knowledge in it is for all time. The commandments for example are still valid: thou shalt not kill, not shalt not covet thy neighbours possessions, thou shalt not commit adultery, love thy neighbour as thyself, etc. etc. The Biblical teaching that man is a fallen, corrupt being and needs to be redeemed it quite obvious. Man has been brutal to each other with crime, theft, murders, wars, etc. Nobody in their right mind could deny these things. There is an almighty Creator who created everything. That should be obvious by just looking around at the complex creation. Even biological scientists have discovered the complexity of a single cell is demonstrated by the vast chains of data in it to control its function. The very existence of the universe proves the existence of God because the universe is an effect. Every effect has a cause. Simple logic of cause and effect. The universe had to have a Creator-designer. Nothing does not create something. There had to have been a beginning in time when the universe came into being and it could not have just happened out of the blue. One only needs to consider such things as the atoms, molecules, energy and laws of physics. All of that could not just happen. It was created with incredibly intricate laws that govern how it all works. This could only have been done by an immensely powerful Designer we call God. So it is reasonable to believe that God did inspire men to write the Holy Scriptures, that is, the Bible. The Bible reveals God's plan and will for man. Only fools reject that and are so puffed up with pride and full of themselves that they think they know better than God. Sad, but true. It takes a little humility and acknowledgement that we are mere mortals that will be alive for a very brief moment in time and we are as specks of dust in the universe. The Bible makes it clear we will be held accountable to God for our beliefs in this life. We are not just blobs of chemicals that came into existence accidentally. There is a purpose for everything even if we don't understand it all.

  9. Sure. Cause there's nothing like a man having complete faith in a book of ancient myths to demonstrate he is a cretin who believes we've learned nothing in the 2000 years since it was written. One thing MANY have learned is that myths have power that is unjustified by FACTS and that the FACTS of our existence has CHANGED PROFOUNDLY in 2000 years. Back then survival was dependent on the size of one's tribe, among other profound differences.

  10. Trump can make the MAGA CULT believe his version of reality just by claiming it. We've seen that right here: him saying it didn't rain makes them believe his version, despite pictures of numerous people deploying umbrellas and hundreds of raindrops on their chairs. LMAO They truly believe he can change the weather, and get angry at anyone who contradicts him. He is a con man and they've been thoroughly conned. He's truly unbelievable.

  11. When a news org wants you to take a side, they give the victims from their chosen people faces and backstories, and the victims from the other side remain anonymous, mere numbers. "Care for these innocent, beautiful people - forget about those ones." Context goes out the window when they're discussing victimhood. Relevant facts are omitted in favour of sensationalized anecdotes. I just heard the "story" about a nice old Palestinian guy who was just out picking olives when a bunch of racist Jews killed him. 1) No one knows if that even happened 2) That was literally the experience of every Jew in the ME while the Ottoman empire was busy doing everything that Israel is accused of for about 500 years. There are also thousands of stories about Israelis who were in their beds when terrorists came for them. We're just not hearing about them anymore. They're no longer relevant as far as CBC is concerned. Now CBC is constantly bringing us the stories of people who've lost loved ones in Gaza: "I've lost 16 family members. I've lost 34 family members..." Hmmmmm... Yup. Sure ya did. And when you think about their loss, do you ever wonder: why was this war was started in the first place? why didn't they evacuate when they were given notice that the Israelis would be targeting the terrorists among them? Is it because they were prevented from leaving by Hamas? were any of your dead family members terrorists, or terrorist supporters? why is it that the terrorists get to live in bunkers and the civilians have to be exposed to danger? With the Israelis it's the other way around - their soldiers are out fighting while their civilians hide... Let's keep in mind: Hamas started this by targeting women and children - not soldiers Hamas has been firing rockets at Israeli civilians this whole time Hamas's stated goal is to wipe Israel from the map, and killing Israeli citizens is their desired path to victory Hamas soldiers individually target women and children, burn them to death, rape them, kill them, and take them to use as meat shields. The Israelis don't target civilians at all The only reason there isn't peace right now is because of Hamas's own bigotry - the Palestinians have always rejected a two-state solution. They will only be happy with a muslim-controlled state with people of other religions as second-class citizens. CBC is busy trying to brainwash people into believing that Hamas should be allowed to commit a massive terrorist attack against Israel and then run, and Israel should just chuck their burned corpses into a hole and just wait for the next attack. This "Hate Israel" approach will just snowball, because the muslim world is not taking any accountability from the other side. The CBC's cute whitewashing of the bigotry behind Hamas violence, their selection of innocent victims, and completely ignoring Hamas's culpability in the deaths of the Palestinians ignores the reality of how many more Israeli children will die in their beds if we keep pretending that Hamas is not evil. When I see rage against Hamas and against their goal of wiping out Israel, I will start to hear their words. When I start to hear them talking about Israel's right to exist I will hear them. Right now I just see their bigotry. CBC is just fanning the flames.

  12. In Trump’s NY civil fraud trial yesterday, defendant Trump became visibly disturbed after his motion to dismiss the trial was rejected by the judge. The judge has already ruled that Trump is guilty in this case, so there was zero chance the judge would dismiss a case after a guilty ruling. Trump then left the courtroom, told the press that he’d won, and then said the trial should be dismissed. What is going through this man’s mind? Surely his lawyers told him that a motion to dismiss would stand no chance, yet he demanded it anyway. And he thinks his case will go better if he continually insults the judge. Usually, when you see courtroom videos of defendants insulting the judge, it’s right before or after getting sentenced 20 years to life. This is not the behavior of a sane, rational person. Add to that, he’s been fined twice for violating a gag order protecting civil servants of the court. It’s unbelievable to imagine that people still think this man should be President; he’s lost his marbles. And he’s about to lose all his money.

  13. Israel’s willingness to allow a Palestinian state is an allegation not currently being tested. People like Netanyahu may make ambiguous noises about it in English but have spent their political careers making sure it can never happen. ‘From the river to the sea’ is how the maniacs of Hamas express their intentions; by contrast, ‘From the sea to Area C’ is not an outrageous denial of the possibility of a Palestinian state but a simple description of the current situation where Israel is quietly increasing its control of West Bank territory every day.

  15. There may be a better time and place to talk about this issue but it would have been in the past (long one). The last and possibly the first too genuine attempt from Israel to achieve a just and lasting peace ended with assassination of Rabin. Israelis are repeatedly electing parties that show little interests in stopping the encroaching annexation. Israel routinely "annexed" lands in the occupied territories including Jerusalem. Under international law one cannot do that. This what Putin has done in Ukraine and nobody recognizes that, with the only difference that Ukraine is a member state of the UN and Palestine, not. These are the facts. The political establishment in Israel does not want lasting two-state solution; and has factually done everything to undermine every opportunity and hope of it. This in no way trivializes or exonerates obvious crimes against humanity committed by Palestinian terrorists. But absolutely this is a factual and objective background and framework of the current situation. Right-wing Israeli nationalists and Palestinian extremists exist and thrive in a symbiosis of mutual hate. They need each other and there's one thing they hate more than the other: a hope of just and lasting settlement. The democracies of the West should recognize that and get off the fence of moral ambiguity. Terrorism is not acceptable and neither is encroaching occupation. Terrorism needs to be stopped, but states cannot be rewarded, continuously and unconditionally for repeated violations of the international law. It will only extend the hatred into the perpetuity. And in that case, there cannot be any good surprises.

  18. Well, looking at that realistically, all university medical schools have been pumping out as many as they could. Every new class has been full (not saying that they all graduated). Again, realistically, saying just to add more makes no sense either. There are only so many professors or doctors or nurses willing to teach. You can't just make more medical classrooms. they are very technical and complicated. They are not Grade 14 or 15 lecture halls. From a university point of view, it is much easier (and profitable) to get students through a leisure studies or music or liberal arts degree and less cost than medical. Even engineering requires less technical equipment than medical. Then, as you bring it up, there is the internship. For every medical student or intern, you need to have supervisory medical staff and that robs the hospitals of active service staff. Nurses, 4 years, doctors 8 + years to be able to work. I am not sure of the enrolment to graduating percentage but my daughters graduating nurses class was 50% of the ones she started with. I am pretty sure there are lots of doctors that do not graduate too. As for dentists, yes, there are many, so many. In my area there are as many dentist as offices as cannabis shops lol. No explanation.

  19. But the inevitable result is: next to nothing works as it should, in a G7 (supposedly) country. In Holland, they built a completely new road, under an existing bridge, without closing it, in two weeks. And it wasn't even the capital. The first subway opened in 1863, almost two centuries back.. yet we're having surprises and revelations and huge project delays and budget overruns, constructing it in the national capital. In a decade or two we'll simply forget how the things are done in this century. G7 only in the name, another beaver tail.

Do you believe we need to kill our neighbors if they shave their faces? Were you aware that if your testicles get crushed, you are no longer welcome in heaven? Did you know that you must cut off your wife's hand if she touches the testicles of the man attacking you? The Bible reads like a book of mythology because it is a book of mythology. After all these thousands of years, do we yet have any empirical evidence that any of the over 2000 Gods created by Man exists? We don't. By law, you are entitled to your faith. 29. " Many other founders of modern science also saw their scientific research as bringing glory to God. Newton said: “This most beautiful system of the sun, planets, and comets, could only proceed from the counsel and dominion of an intelligent Being. … This Being governs all things, not as the soul of the world, but as Lord over all; and on account of his dominion he is wont to be called ‘Lord God’ Παντοκράτωρ [Pantokratōr cf. 2 Corinthians 6:18] or ‘Universal Ruler’. … The Supreme God is a Being eternal, infinite, absolutely perfect … ”.3 “Opposite to godliness is atheism in profession and idolatry in practice. Atheism is so senseless and odious to mankind that it never had many professors”.4 " Science biblical presuppositions (creation.com) Idolatry can be anything in life you put in place of God. "The Sin of Idolatry Idolatry is the worship of anything other than God, whether it is a physical object, a person, a pleasure, or a concept. " The irony is atheists claim they don't believe in God, but they have created another god or gods in their own mind. They mistakenly think if they don't call these other things a god or gods, they are not practicing idolatry.

  30. The timeline for the beginning of man, i.e. Adam and Eve, appears to be estimated to be about 4,000 B.C. or 6,000 years ago. The Fall of man is estimated in the Thompson Chain Reference (KIng James) Bible to have happened about 4004 B.C. This is according to the a highly respected theologian, Ussher. It says it is only a working number, not to be taken as absolutely correct. Since Genesis says God created the universe in six days and that man was created during this six days. Therefore, it is correct to say the earth and universe was created about 6,000 years ago. The way I see it is, when God created everything in six days, that means the earth was created with a certain age at the moment it was created. The trees, birds, animals, etc. were created full grown at that moment. This was a supernatural event. Nothing unreasonable or irrational about believing that. So the earth would possibly be 6,000 years old.

All those things are an abomination in the true Judeo-Christian culture. We need to put the brakes on this woke stuff. If the new Speaker, Mike Johnson, believes the Bible and rejects the woke agenda, that is something to celebrate. He said God ordained him to be Speaker of the House. I think he is correct.

There is evidence to support that. quote This pamphlet presents just a tiny selection of the amazing evidence that dinosaurs did not die out millions of years before humans, but, in fact, they lived at the same time. Examples are found all over the world. All sorts of dinosaurs are depicted in all sorts of mediums: carvings, etchings, drawings, tapestries, stone masonry, pottery, etc. The similarity with reconstructions of fossil dinosaurs is astounding. As you travel and read you will discover more examples. The Bible makes sense of dinosaurs, and makes sense of our life—why we are here and where we are going. unquote dinosaurs-did-they-die-out.pdf (creation.com) This appears to be a very interesting article which I have yet to read myself.

  39. Just before the Covid I chatted regularly with a recent grad in education. She was a supply teacher with no permanent schedule, lower pay no benefits etc and couldn't find a permanent job for years after graduating. We talked here about permanent and chronic shortage of nurses yet many couldn't find stable positions with stable pay, job security and benefits. Question: how does this make any freaking sense? We have been throwing uncounted billions at the thing since the last romanow commission yet a quarter of Ontarians will have no family doctor in a year or so. Why are we paying for something that does not exist? Why do we need "more foreign-trained anything, including teachers and medical professionals" and I'm quoting someone boasting a great achievement if our professionals here and now are struggling to find good jobs? I have an easy answer: the system doesn't know what it's doing. It runs around randomly pulls here punches there and see what happens... any good yet, lets try again enthusiastically just need more of your cash. I'm all for discussing other possibilities. If you can you come up with more plausible ones.

  43. The best way to break Pierre Poilievre’s media-baiting strategy: ask actual questions …. You can see why conservatives would seize on it. It’s more than just a reporter being made to look silly – it’s a TKO for conservatives generally over the mainstream media. The video has gone viral, gushed over by well-known righties in the United States and fuelling a fresh round of Conservative Party fundraising. Certainly Mr. Poilievre seems pleased by his showing: He’s the one who posted it. And yet, it’s basically a party trick. I’ve seen him do it before. Rather than answer the question, you turn it back on your questioner, forcing him to cite sources and otherwise document his question on the spot. You can do that with just about anything, if you’re brazen enough. At one point Mr. Poilievre challenges the interviewer’s suggestion that he uses polarizing ideological language (“Like what?” “Uh, ‘left-wing,’ you know, this and that …”), then blithely follows with: “I never really talk about left and right.” It didn’t take the Liberals long to post a video with about a dozen instances of Mr. Poilievre publicly attacking “the left,” “socialists” etc. But it’s a little harder to come up with those when you’re standing in the middle of an apple orchard. Still, if journalists would like to avoid making themselves props in Mr. Poilievre’s media-baiting strategy, there’s a simple enough remedy: Don’t ask loaded questions! In fairness, it’s difficult to avoid falling into this trap. It’s all too easy to imagine the confrontational, accusatory style (“Isn’t it true your company has been dumping toxic waste in the river?”) is how you “get tough” with an interview subject. In fact, it’s the simplest thing for the interviewee to flip to his or her advantage. A question that is not really a question offers cover to give an answer that is not really an answer. A breezy “not at all,” a pivot to your preferred talking point (“in fact we care deeply about the environment”), and you’re away. …. You may recall Tom Mulcair’s finest hour, as opposition leader during the Mike Duffy affair. As long as he stuck to the usual opposition leader-type questions (“when will the minister admit …”), he got nowhere. It was only when he started asking those short, open-ended questions that he started making yards. Or if you want a more pertinent example: That’s what Mr. Poilievre is doing, interviewing his interviewer. What do you mean by that? Like what? Give me an example. It’s devastating, really. More reporters should try it. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/article-the-best-way-to-break-pierre-poilievres-media-baiting-strategy-ask/

  44. A lot going on in this post. I really don't feel like multi-posting. I will concede that "Culturally" the US is a lot angrier a country. I do think other countries have a better relationship with guns. They're not seen as a God-given right because of some amendment devised when they were fighting a domestic war. Their politics are way more polarized. Though I see some similar elements coming with the way people dislike JT. Back when I was "young" I really disliked Jean Chretien and Dalton McGuinty. It never once occurred to me to put an Eff Dalton bumper sticker on me car. Earlier in the thread we discussed cars. An angry disaffected person could use a car to kill scores of people. But driving cars are also highly regulated. Imagine if gun owners had to buy insurance in case their weapons was actually used to kill someone . . . like designed. It seems a faction of Americans want as few regulations on guns as possible. Regarding angry. I actually had the same thing happen to me where someone passed me on the shoulder when I was in the Carpool lane. He chipped my windshield because rocks were flying from the shoulder. It was an Old man with his wife in the passenger seat. We see from the incident in Sault Ste Marie, that violence is possible by anyone, including a family man.
