I can't speak for anyone else but I keep my thermostat low. I drive a small car. I have had upgrades to my home, windows, more attic insulation, high efficiency furnace. Soon new siding and Tyvek wrap underneath. I try not to drive on weekends. I cut out some things on groceries. And yet, in spite of all this, I am paying out more every month than ever before. I do have to go to work and public transit is not an option because of where I live. What more do you expect from people that are already getting squeezed?

The carbon tax is just a communist redistribution program of theft that does nothing for the environment.

Its' a weird thing about humans - if you take all of people's money and then give back just enough to survive. a shockingly large percent of them will say "thank god for those people or i wouldn't have the money to survive". They don't realize if the gov't wasn't takeing their money in the first place they'd have more than enough to survive. And we wonder why intelligent aliens don't want to talk to us.

The Liberals just want as much of your money as possible so that they can decide what everyone deserves because they think they know better than the taxpayers who pay their wages. Shrink government, scrap carbon taxes, and expand our rights so that these immoral communists can’t complete the handover of Canadian sovereignty to China.

BC just made birth control free as of April 1st. The Pill, IUDs, etc. even the morning after pill are free with a prescription. Vasectomies and tubal ligations always were. Parties in other Provinces have made the same promise if elected.

I think it's probably even more simple that that - gov'ts need taxes but people hate them. So with a few lies they've created a tax that people are HAPPY to pay - and even better they get to be seen to be giving the people money! How many people do you think are so stupid they get that refund cheque and say "god i really needed this money right now - thanks Carbon tax liberal gov't!" Without realizing they'd have HAD more money if there was no tax. It's just a new way to increase taxes without blowback from the public. They are long over, so they can't possibly be to blame for current worker shortages. Nobody's sitting on their ass getting free money. 15 years ago I a had a couple kids I could've shorted every payday, all they looked at on the stub was their EI insurable hours... 20 yr olds who think like that don't count and aren't worth worrying about. There's a real shortage, right now in every field. Stores, restaurants still aren't fully stocked and back to full hours. There's a shortage of drivers slowing the supply chain delivery. Huge numbers have retired and left the work force, sll of the age there's a huge bump in the need for medical services. So unless your actively pumping out babies already of working age, we need to get people from somewhere.

If you've noticed your paying more with carbon taxes, you're 'getting the picture'.
