Eyeball is under the illusion that if he pays some kind of temporary reparations levy with other Canadian taxpayers, suddenly the activists will say, “Ah, you guys have really made amends. All good now, you can cease the payouts.” That’s not how it goes. The game is to milk the cow to death. There will never be enough settlement of treaties or compensation for perceived past injuries for some people, and they’re the squeaky wheels pushing over statues and sitting around a flaming garbage can stopping trains or putting up banners on church alters. They’re in charge, the proof being the now debunked mass murder Indigenous grave stories that caused a year of Canadian flags at half mast. Right now, on top of the previous residential school payouts, the human rights tribunal is talking $40,000 per person with no cap on future payouts. People have natural bullshit detectors. Let me see: no taxation, free education, free healthcare, free higher education, and significant government funding of reserve infrastructure while asking nothing of Indigenous…Oh and it isn’t the government that wants to keep the Indian Act. Yes injustices happened that shouldn’t be downplayed. The apologies and free stuff can’t go on forever. That wouldn’t be fair, no matter how indignant you are about land that was misappropriated 250 years ago. The Loyalists had their land seized in the US, yet I don’t know any great great great great grandchildren demanding the return of pasture in Massachusetts. Setting groups up with race-based special status is dubious and creates two-tier citizenship. In the long run it’s a failed policy. I certainly wouldn’t throw additional money at it unless a court issues an order based on evidence supporting a particular land claim or claim of abuse. Those judgements are case by case, which is fair.3 points

thing is, the Legion has nothing to do with the CF the Legion is actually a private club and for my generation of veterans, they've always treated us as outsiders as a decorated veteran myself, I walk into a Legion hall, and they basically shrug, they couldn't care less at this point, most people who are members of the Legion haven't even served in the military last time I went to a Legion, was for my buddy Chappie's wake but we had to rent the Legion hall just like any civilian would we had a good time at the wake, but the Legion members, they totally ignored us2 points

You should only post to these bottom feeders if you are absolutely bored. Of course Sachs is THE liberal/green/WEF type of guy that the trollerati despises as much as they misunderstand him... Typing "BS" with no explanation or rebuttal is calling someone out to you? Do you EVER have anything intelligent to add to a discussion? By this logic we would need to open the bank vault wide open, pay out for our mistakes with slavery, of both black, white yellow, the list is long, pay out the Chinese for the railroad, the Irish for how we treated them coming over during the famine, what about how the different classes where treated, how did we treat nations we were at war with, Boar, Germans, Turks, Italians, Japanese so far there is no line in the sand where to stop... you've opened pandoras box... the list could go on and i'm sure everyone would be entitled to a payout and apology somewhere along the road... and while we are at it, we could dig into Indigenous transgressions against other indigenous nations, settlers, how far do you want to go. lets face it everyone on this planet are one racist mother truckers are we not.2 points

lets leave it there, you have failed at convincing me, and i failed to convince you. i personal think your definition is wrong, a stretch by all means when used in the context that the Canadians conveyers were extreme. maybe it makes them a little nuts, but extremist i don't think so. Not extreme enough to declared it a matter of national security. BLM movement when they burnt down a city, murdered people in the streets, for days on end, and demanded defund the police that was extreme. Russia invading Ukraine that was extreme, having some protestors keep you awake a night are jackasses at best...see the difference is your perception of the acts and the definition..2 points

https://www.thestar.com/opinion/contributors/2021/08/09/ontario-is-undermining-its-vision-of-being-an-electric-vehicle-manufacturing-centre.html DoFo should recognize where the Global winds are blowing. Invest in EV infrastructure an incentivize car-buyers to buy an EV as their next car. He risks damaging the Ontario Auto Sector as that's where the Big 3 are moving their focus in the coming years. As the Article mentions, Ontario has the Natural resources to help move from Fossil Fuel infrastructure to Battery development and manufacturing. The rest of the country is way ahead of us on this. Across the 401 there are OnRoute rest-stop, none have DC Fast Chargers. This is a no-brainer to help make Ontario a more EV friendly market.1 point

I hear it from Trudeau and all sorts of others on the political Left. It looks like most of those on the political Right are just shrugging and saying 'whatever' because otherwise the media, academics, activists and the like all will start screaming about how they're racist. It's more than your job is worth in a lot of places to disagree or even express doubt about systemic racism, but examples seem few and far between and mostly consist of statistical discrepancies between groups. Correlation, however, is not causation. And no, I'm not talking about discrimination practiced by government, the justice system or corporations against White people.1 point

I was thinking recently that us conservatives could update each other in one thread. There are dozens of threads here, and the evidence we find gets somewhat hidden with pages and pages of arguments, etc. So lets help each other out and post events here that counter the official narrative that is starting to fall apart. I'll start with a former mayor in Arizona changing her plea to guilty concerning ballot harvesting in the 2020 election. This was a direct result of the 2000 Mules documentary being released. The makers passed along some of the evidence they had collected to various law enforcement officials around the country to follow up with. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2022/06/03/former-arizona-democrat-mayor-pleads-guilty-to-felony-ballot-harvesting-in-2020-primary-election/ If this type of topic helps out, I could see starting one regarding the election and perhaps a thread on global events that are pushing the globalist agenda. Any other thread ideas?1 point

If you’re wondering who is causing high oil prices, and who is benefitting, it is oil companies. BTW, Shell’s highest profit was Q2 of this year. “The good times continue at Shell. The London-based energy giant reported adjusted earnings for the third quarter of $9.45 billion, its second-highest profit on record and more than double the $4.1 billion it made in the same period a year earlier. Shell is mainly benefiting from high oil and natural gas prices partly stoked by the war in Ukraine, as Russia squeezes gas flows to Europe. The profit was a step down from the record-breaking $11.5 billion Shell reported for the second quarter.” https://www.nytimes.com/2022/10/27/business/shell-earnings-profit-oil-gas.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share1 point

“The energy crisis sparked by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is likely to speed up rather than slow down the global transition away from fossil fuels and toward cleaner technologies like wind, solar and electric vehicles, the world’s leading energy agency said Thursday. While some countries have been burning more fossil fuels such as coal this year in response to natural gas shortages caused by the war in Ukraine, that effect is expected to be short-lived, the International Energy Agency said in its annual World Energy Outlook, a 524-page report that forecasts global energy trends to 2050. Instead, for the first time, the agency now predicts that worldwide demand for every type of fossil fuel will peak in the near future. One major reason is that many countries have responded to soaring prices for fossil fuels this year by embracing wind turbines, solar panels, nuclear power plants, hydrogen fuels, electric vehicles and electric heat pumps. In the United States, Congress approved more than $370 billion in spending for such technologies under the recent Inflation Reduction Act. Japan is pursuing a new “green transformation” program that will help fund nuclear power, hydrogen and other low-emissions technologies. China, India and South Korea have all ratcheted up national targets for renewable and nuclear power.” https://www.nytimes.com/2022/10/27/climate/global-clean-energy-iea.html1 point

TBH, as a former sailor on a frigate, I don't think it's a particularly useful purchase. I could see a small fleet on each coast, like 4 maybe, but we'd be better off spending the rest of that money on nuclear subs or stealth fighters imo. Frigates are like chew toys for subs, bigger ships, missiles, torpedoes, etc. Kind of at the bottom of the food chain from every direction.1 point

I know this is really complicated for you, but Democrats only exist in America. And the Democratic Party isn’t funding any new nuclear reactors and neither is the Republican Party. And what’s more… you just spout this comment “there is presently no alternative” to nuclear with nothing to back up your assertion. And you’re dead wrong. For one thing, nuclear is proven to be a money loser. Toshiba/Westinghouse lost billions building nuclear reactors. Nearly bankrupted them. OTOH, California has extended the operating lifetime of their one operational nuclear plant. But long term, it’s going to be wind and solar. Wind alone supplies 50% of Iowa’s electricity, over 20% of Texas’, and nearly 10% of the entire nation’s total. Wind turbines work! And they can be built FAR FAR faster than nuclear plants, at far lower cost per kWh, and obviously far lower environmental impact. Farmers can put a dozen or more windmills on their land with almost no impact. That’s clearly not so with nuclear.1 point

You don't think people target shoot with hand guns? It's an Olympic sport. Once the current crop of Canadian shooters retire, there will be no more Canadians competing in that discipline. No one "needs" golf clubs or skis either. No one "needs" high powered cars and they kill a lot more people than legal hand guns. God help us when people like you get to decide what others can use based on what you "need".1 point
-
It is a legally purchased piece of personal property, that is not part of the gun problem, just because you don't have a use or think it is useful, that is reason enough to ban them? It does not bother you at all that this program will cost bils to implement and will not reduce gun violence to any reasonable degree, that and the fact less than 400 k will be spent in combating illegal guns at the border which is reasonable for over 80% of the guns used in violent crimes here in Canada. And all that makes sense to you, i know you switched off a long time ago, you don't really care WTF they do. it all makes sense to you. Even law enforcement does not believe these measures are going to make a difference, what do they know right.1 point

Follow the logic. Since no gas was flowing anyways, what changed by blowing up the pipeline? What money are we following? How can you get less than zero gas from these pipelines? Your accusations might have a chance of landing if you could actually explain what's been misrepresented. If you can't do that, then spare your breath. ? Easy to say that after the fact. This sort of revisionism is always funny, where your successor follows your general plan and then you blame them when it turns out awful. How do you figure the US was going to operate a major air base in Afghanistan surrounded by the Taliban on all sides? The fact that the Poles are among the most anti-Russian people in Europe seems to be lost on you. As usual, you'll believe what you prefer and little else. You copied a headline off your 4chan feed but obviously don't know anything about the guy. The fact that you'd quote him here as an expert on European geopolitics but then (unprompted by anyone and totally unrelated) go off against the Liberal Green BS that he's been promoting for years is quite funny.1 point

We disagree one a lot of things, but I can certainly acknowledge you're not one of the silly goof here just looking to pwn people with click-bait and one-liners. I know you're looking for intelligent debate. Again, you're really misunderstanding the word. Extreme is just "very very very something". The ideology can be anything (good or bad). Terrorism, however, is not an ideology in itself. It's the result of an ideology pushed to the furthest extremes and over the brink. However extreme you are, you can always get more extreme. I don't think blocking the world's most lucrative trade artery for 6 days because you don't believe in a pandemic that's killed millions is best described as "a little whacky". This was a targeted escalation not meant to create awareness or display discontent, but rather to inflict max pain on the people that disagreed with them. As far as economic blackmail goes, that's about as extreme as you can get without actually bombing the bridge. Bringing up BLM over and over isn't helpful for your argument. You're just demonstrating your bias. "But but but BLM!" isn't an argument. It's a deflection and it's totally unrelated. That's because your personal meaning for the word is made-up, self-defeating and arbitrary. The word "extremists" didn't change the debate. There were plenty of other perjoratives used to describe the truckers, and none of them invoked accusations of terrorism either. You getting upset about a word that was never intended as you described is purely a you problem and you're kind of just screaming into the wind.1 point

They had the trucks and drivers, the problem was identified as failure to answer the drivers request for high risk indemnification, requiring finance minister approval ( no reason given why this approval was not given ) Had it been approved trucks would have been able to do their jobs. Why do you believe this ridiculous nonsense, instead of accepting what is right in front of your nose in plain daylight? It is absolute, irrefutable fact that Trump lost, Trump KNEW he lost, his advisors and children all told him he lost, the US Congress and Senate told him he lost. The Supreme Court told him he lost. The individual states told him he lost. TRUMP LOST. It is fact that Trump perpetuated a LIE, claiming he won. It is fact that Trump STILL has presented NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER of fraud. That stuff is all plain as day. It is fact. Ray Epps is a conspiracy theory. I think you’re completely detached from reality. It’s so bizarre that you think states and Federal agencies lead by men loyal to Trump were all synchronized in a secret cabal lead out of Biden’s basement. You just aren’t thinking rationally at all, and neither is the pillow selling former drug addict.1 point

Yeah sketchy organization. I still remember when they basically installed a fake white supremacist with a fledgling white supremacist organization that then thrived under the influence of the fake. I think extremists are people who hold extreme beliefs but don't act out violently on them. Terrorists act on extreme beliefs. Acting on extremist beliefs is the tipping point that makes one a terrorist. What happens when so-called extremist beliefs turn out to be truth? The protesters were ahead of the government in what science was saying about the jabs, mandates and restrictions. Turns out they were right - it doesn't really matter much who is jabbed or not. Aside from some very high risk individuals, jabbed or not the vast majority fight off covid just fine. It seems to me it's the Trudeau government that is a terrorist government, acting violently on extremist, unscientific beliefs towards Canadian citizens. Just this week, again, Trudeau has doubled down on being a terrorist government, threatening lockdowns, restrictions, business closures if 90% of Canadians dont get jabbed every 3-6 months. For the rest of their lives, I presume, since Zero Covid is a scientifically proven extreme belief.1 point

Yes, Alex, and no children were killed at Sandy Hook. They were all crisis actors, right? I'm not aware of Epps urging people in on Jan 6, but he is certainly on video stressing "peacefully." And it's not any kind of stretch for someone to bail out on a peaceful protest when it turns violent. There were a LOT of people there who didn't join the riot. Your "reasoning" is that the FBI did it, and anything that contradicts that conclusion--including sworn testimony from any of the parties involved--is that the FBI made them say what they said. With thinking like that, you're literally beyond reach. Everything contrary to the conspiracy is part of the conspiracy! Imagine if the leftist liberal Canadian media were to find out that the Canadian army was full of Nazi's? They would go absolutely ballistic over it and demand that the Canadian military clean house of these Nazi's. But yet the Canadian media knows very well that Zelensky's army is full of Nazi's but that seems to be okay with the Canadian media and they appear to support Zelensky all the time. The Canadian MSM will not condemn Zelensky for using Nazi's in his army. What a bunch of hypocrites that we have in the Canadian media. The Canadian media do like to pick and choose what they want to report on. Their bias is always showing. ? Beaver cleaver appears to support Zelenskys Nazi army alright. This is not something new, this goes back decades i mean the pandemic made this crystal clear to everyone, are we not smart enough to catch it then, or where consumers so hooked on cheaper goods. when we were importing oil form Arab countries, becasue we were not smart enough to build infra structure to span the country. shit we were not even smart enough to build refiners to refine our own bitumen instead shipped it to the states at record low prices and then purchased it back at full price when it was refined. it is like we designed our own down fall. or we are just not that smart.1 point

You set no statute of limitations on the injustices of the distant past and pretend that they persist today to an extent that people are still widely held back because of skin colour and ethnicity. Given all the current examples of “building representation” through hiring and the attempts by management programs to see racism lurking everywhere, I just don’t believe the hype. The only codified discrimination today is in racialized job postings or EDI point schemes that determine what someone deserves based on superficial markers or intersectionalities. I understand what the initial intent of these programs was, but we’ve just created more discrimination. We’re creating new forms of victim-state-dependents whom government can save. I know that people’s views about such programs depend very much on their politics and how interventionist they believe government should be. I find it sadly ironic that the non-Indigenous who are most critical of Canada’s creation of residential schools tend to have the kinds of interventionist political views that create paternalistic institutions like residential schools. There’s an inability to connect that impulse across time. I really see it now. It’s the willful blindness of the elites. It’s the one-eyed Horus trying to control everything but missing the importance of freedom and self-determination. The Covid measures demonstrate the same need to control how people live and think. It’s happening with the internet too. Government needs to back off because the authorities can’t help but create new forms of oppression over and over. It’s why I’m for small government and stronger individual rights. Racism is no longer systemic in Canada in the sense of policy. Attitudes persist but creating new forms of discrimination to counter old ones isn’t going to improve people’s attitudes.1 point

Nope and never will. A movie is for entertainment and not to use for factual discussion or argument. Retelling of historical events, visually, is done in documentaries. Movies are fiction, stories, that describes imaginary events and people.
