  1. I just got back from the convoy, and what was most incredible was seeing people live freely. A steel drummer was playing Caribanna sounds. Feminists, interestingly enough, talking about free choice; Christian farmers, Siks, Iranians, Israelis, Saudis, Russians, Latinas. All religions represented. Everyone talking about importance of freedom, free speech, the human spirit and liberty. Very warm environment. Most social I felt in public in two years. Like a great awakening of humanity. People talking about Christ, Buddha, Mohammed, the Charter protections. Black, White, everyone just enjoying life.

  2. It says a lot about those who continue to support Trudeau even with his dismal record as Prime Minister. Too many Canadians think of politics as a team sport and they'll support their "team" no matter how awful they are. The bar is set really low for Trudeau.

  3. May be a referendum on the issue would solve all the problems. Maybe Trudeau should be looking at this option to end the deadlock. Protesters going back home, a referendum to be held within a month and the nation decides. It is democratic and it will quickly resolve this serious issue smoothly and without violence and for good, As well it will free the people of Downtown Ottawa. What do you think?

  4. 'The world' ? People are using the pandemic as an excuse to make noise about Trudeau. There's no expectation that a conservative government would be much different, nor an NDP one since we have conservative and NDP governments and they have been pretty similar in their actions.

  5. Why do you think the citizens of Ottawa should be treated like this? What did they do to deserve this?

  6. This just in: the Freedom Convoy organizers have in their hands the zoom video that exposes the Ottawa mayor and his staff as directly involved in getting Go Fund Me to shut down the Convoy fund. Pat King showed it on his face book page. Things are heating up. Ottawa has now made it illegal to refuel the trucks that are in Ottawa streets. Elon Musk has come out condemning Go Fund Me for shutting down the convoy page when they kept open the BLM page when they were raising money for the Seattle city block take over.

  7. It also tells us the the root cause of this problem is not political, right or left. It's in the different plane, liberty - control, up to and including authoritarian control. If government overreach is not limited by effective and constant, unconditional checks and oversight by the society, a government of any political or ideological flavor will be sliding into authoritarianism just because it's easier, because it can.

  8. This is the biggest irony of all. It’s the anti-Liberals who are the ones having to safeguard all the rights and freedoms that Liberal Pierre Elliott Trudeau worked to enshrine. What does it tell you when feminists with signs saying, “My body, my choice,” are walking arm in arm with Pro Life Christian farmers protesting the government mandates and restrictions? It tells me that government is violating our rights and freedoms as Canadians.

  13. Except that's not what your badly written piece actually said. Is it? Here's a direct quote: What hate? Who against whom? Nothing has been "logged." Something has been alleged. And 4 people have been charged...but for what? The Red Star seems afraid to tell you.

  14. And every time you post that BS claim I'm going to remind you it's from some shaved head guy with a ring in his ear who claims he was once a "communications consultant" (whatever that is) making some allegations using a blurry video that doesn't actually show anything. Keep digging.

  15. We're not on the verge of hyperinflation, or even anything close to hyperinflation. That term is a bogeyman word that 4dchan conspiracy clowns bandy around without understanding what it means or how it comes to be. Explaining monetary policy to those folks is a lost cause though. As far as they're concerned, the money-printing machines are just going brrrrrrrrrr! and that means that the $ is going to lose 50% of its value per year or...something.

  16. Oh wow. Jesus ministered to the prostitutes, thieves, tax collectors(robbed the people) and beggars. He took a whip and drove law abiding sellers(they were there legally) out of the temple. He called the religious leaders(respected law abiders) a brood of vipers. Keep reading the Bible…

  17. Chances are most of the reasons for having this referendum will be over before it ever gets organized. The noisy confused minority that imagine's it might make a difference simply needs to chill out, get a grip and try to be a little less impatient. Look around you, normal may only be creeping back in on little cat's feet but it is happening.

  18. I don't think there is growing support at home. Downtown residents are more fed up every day demanding police action and as the nation watch their Capital City under occupation over time, even those minority who may support the illegal blocking of streets will turn against them. They have to leave sooner or later.

  19. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/1/31/canada-trudeau-denounces-anti-vaccine-trucker-protests Trudeau is a liar and a disgusting hate monger. There were a hundred thousand people taking part in demonstrations all across the country and he's educing them all to what couple of people were not even credibly accused of.

  20. From Wikipedia: “executive authority remains vested in the Crown and is only entrusted by the sovereign to the government on behalf of the people. This underlines the Crown's role in safeguarding the rights, freedoms, and democratic system of government of Canadians, reinforcing the fact that "governments are the servants of the people and not the reverse".[29][30] Thus, within Canada's constitutional monarchy the sovereign's direct participation in any of these areas of governance is normally limited, with the sovereign typically exercising executive authority only with the advice and consent of the Cabinet of Canada, and the sovereign's legislative and judicial responsibilities largely carried out through the Parliament of Canada as well as judges and justices of the peace.[29] However, there are cases where the sovereign or their representative would have a duty to act directly and independently under the doctrine of necessity to prevent genuinely unconstitutional acts.[31][32] As a result, the Crown today primarily functions as a guarantor of continuous and stable governance and a nonpartisan safeguard against abuse of power.[35] The sovereign acts as a custodian of the Crown's democratic powers and a representation of the "power of the people above government and political parties".[36][37]”

  21. Not really. Sometimes parties are on the right side of history on issues and sometimes they are not. Trudeau has overplayed his hand. He thinks that having won a minority government in September entitles him to ignore a massive opposition to his government’s current pandemic policies. Policies can change. If Trudeau won’t change them or justify his actions in an open debate with the opposition and protest movement, then he is behaving like an arbitrary dictator.

  22. I didn’t mean you specifically with my 2nd comment. Apologies. I should’ve been more clear. Referenda on public health policy is a,poor idea. Why not ask if better masks should be mandated? Why do a handful of truckers illegally protesting get to dictate policy direction?

  23. The thing with politicians is they don't like getting their hands dirty so they get others to do their dirty work. What will probably happen now that there's backlash against governments is they'll pressure organizations like the Chamber of Commerce to self police masks etc. Government can say its not their rules while still applying pressure in behind the scenes. It's what Moe did in Sask until enough people ie the Saskatchewan Roughriders refused to do the Government's dirty work for them

  25. It is legal for anyone to protest in the streets of Canada. There is no one being denied their right to their ability to be able to do or go anywhere. These protests are the last resort for millions of citizen's of Canada whom feel that they have been treated unfairly and betrayed by their government. This present day leftist liberal government will never listen to anyone's demands unless of course one thinks and agrees with their leftist policies and agree with what they say and do. It is Castro Trudeau and his Marxist ilk and government that has helped create these demonstrations. It is the only thing that tyrants and bullies like Trudeau understand. If you treat your citizen's like crap eventually the chit hits the fan. The chit has now hit the fan. We are not talking about thousands but millions whom have had enough of this covid medical tyranny madness. It is time to call it quits and end this scamdemic once and for all and let's all just get back to the good old normal days. We must end this discrimination that our politicians have placed on way too many innocent and decent folk. This is not citizen's doing the discrimination here. It is your own government that is discriminating against it's own citizen's and clearly violating the Canadian Constitution and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. I will be dammed if I am going to concern myself with your crybaby tactics here. This a fight to preserve our rights and freedoms for all Canadians. Even for you. The problem with you is that you still refuse to see the writing on the wall just yet. If we the people do not win this battle against tyranny then we will all end up living in a communist country. Go, truckers, go. You truly are the patriotic hero's of the day. ?

  30. That's a good one. Lesson learned: Don't trust official funding mechanisms. That may include banks. But the more the government uses it's leverage unfairly, it drives people to look elsewhere. And sometimes elsewhere could be the criminal networks. So the government is stupid to block or ban the gofundme, when they could have kept the protest organizers above table and engaged. Now, they're a massive fund looking for a bank account to keep it. Evidence- the new fund they set up yesterday already earned a reported $1M in the first twelve hours. .... By now the government / political class are starting to crap themselves. This has ignited across the country, grown to something larger and more vague in definition. It is becoming the focus for pent-up anger over the shutdowns, but all being funnelled into one massive action. Mr. Trudeau would do well to keep his private plane on ready.

Introduce...forever...a social credit system as found in China where you're deemed either a good or bad citizen and given rights accordingly. 3. Restrict travel and association so you can't conspire to end one and two....ever. Big Brother is watching you.

  32. Bylaw infractions.. give them a parking ticket if warranted. You are more worried about a parking infraction then your Prime Minister uttering divisive rhetoric and mandates that promote discrimination. Nice to know where your priorities are. Christians get a bad name because often times they are feckless in the midst of some pretty disturbing times. Some Christians have rightfully spoke out though many remain silent. Separating the wheat from the tares.

Did Harper have any more work experience prior to being elected as a politician at the age of 29 that helped him as PM? Maybe? I’m not sure they ‘why’ really matters. What experience outside of government does he have that would be positive?
