Perhaps the summary of this thread might be that Republicans do not like rioting by anybody and if they do riot they must be held accountable. Democrats on the other hand seem to be mostly fine with the act of rioting but that depends entirely on who is rioting. Any evidence to suggest otherwise?

Televised news tends to be the worst. Some big news channels are much better than others in my opinion, FOX is much better than the worst of the worst CNN. Most of the important stories on all of the big networks are very constrained in time and making space for commercial breaks trumps in depth coverage of these stories. It's more about grabbing the attention of the viewer than honest unbiased reporting. News stories should be covered warts and all but that's rarely the case most of the time. A good example was mentioned earlier here when violent attacks were happening against asians . It was a big story until videos showed that an awful lot of the attackers were black. No mention of that fact by the MSM because it doesn't help their leftist narrative. There are better sources out there and we can draw our own conclusions from them.

I don't live in Ontario so I definitely can't speak for Ontarians however the vast majority of Ontarians I speak with said they will never get the booster. With that said, they also claimed they would never get the vaccine to begin with and they did. The reality is that if 90% got two shots then its almost a guarantee that X percent will not get the third and then another X percent will not get the 4th, and so on. I think if hospitalizations don't go up then you will have a higher number X percent not getting the shot especially when they see that 60% or higher of the cases are fully vaxxed.

Just got word that our firm is delaying return to office again because of OMICRON. I think a much easier path to winning elections and staying in power in the US would be for the government of the day to drastically weaken the integrity of the voting system such as not requiring ID in order to vote. Also if a government was desperate to hold onto power they might call for an open southern border and just allow unrestricted mass migration of unskilled people, many of whom may not speak English but will be encouraged to vote for the government that allowed them in. What about the spread of Covid by unrestricted mass immigration? Apparently Covid can only be spread by legal US citizens and not by illegal immigrants. The very idea of trying to overturn election results or keep someone in office with mere hundreds of people is ludicrous. The tactics mentioned above are clearly the way to go.?

Not all of those were pre-existing conditions, and for sure some of those alternate causes were triggered by covid itself, but what percent of Americans over 70 (the covid target demographic) aren't morbidly obese, or don't have heart disease, lung disease, liver disease, etc? The analogy that I give is that if you're walking on the edge of your grave, covid gives you a nudge. Healthy people aren't picked up and carried to their graves like they would be with Ebola or something like that. Here's the deal: almost 66% of the people who died in Canada were among the 4% of us who are over 80 years old (18,239 deaths). There were less than 800 deaths among the ~23,000,000 Canadians under 50. That's 2.7% of the deaths in 60% of the population. Another way of looking at it is 23 times as many deaths in 1/14th the number of people. The correlation is in granite. If covid pushes with 30% less force it's not likely to push many people into their graves at all. Even with the original, stronger versions of covid, 94% of the Americans who died needed to have other co-morbidities in order for covid to be able to finish them. Take away 30% of the severity, what's left? People on palliative plus a handful of really unlucky outliers?

The public Health care system in Canada is disgustingly sickening. My own closest relative who was everything to me and everyone for me passed away recently right before my eyes because she was released prematurely from ICU. The uncaring incompetent nurses and doctors at hospital ward were not trained or experienced enough to deal with such critical condition.
