  2. So the Trudeau government is set to ban a bunch of macho-looking rifles in Canada, even though they really don't do anything a lot of other rifles do, and even though everyone involved in policing recognizes that almost all illegal firearms come across the US border anyway. The cost will be $250 billion up front and another $150 million a year for for years. But we all know it will be a lot higher. It always is. And the reason for this billion dollars is not really a reduction in crime or the illegal use of firearms, it's to buy popularity for the Liberal party among urban progressives who know nothing about firearms except they don't like them. The government is exploiting the Nova Scotia tragedy for crass political gain despite the fact the killer had no license and used illegal weapons which can be easily obtained because the government refuses to do anything about weapons smuggling, or the illegal sale, purchase or ownership of firearms. Remember this government passed more gun control legislation in 2018 and still hasn't' implemented it because the point was to be seen to be passing the legislation. They know the legislation won't do a thing anyway, but they got the good publicity for passing it, which is all this style over substance government ever cares about. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-ottawas-gun-ban-to-target-ar-15-and-the-weapon-used-during/#comments

  3. Take a look at the Tdot Godzilla threads. Take a look at the starter headlines and responses. Same scripts. I urge everyone to ignore them and watch how fast they will repeat with a new name. Also take note of the new posters who come on their threads then vanish.

  8. The Japanese government gave their citizens masks instead of telling them not to wear masks, and they banned travel from Hubeii Province right away instead of just name-calling against countries who banned travellers from the covid hotspot. https://japantoday.com/category/national/Japan-bars-entry-of-foreign-travelers-from-China's-Hubei-Province I'm putting more stock in the actions that the Japanese took than in their cultural predilections. Japan kicked our asses in the fight against covid because their government treated it like a fight right from day 1. Trudeau killed 4,000 Canadians by not using common sense and following basic scientific/medical knowledge.

  10. Gosh Godess I need you to wear a mask... I just can not be sure if you have Covid 19 or its your beauty, but either way you are deadly. God told me. Oy. We must turn this idiot thread into a positive spin. Good Gawd Godess some days I could swear the entire world is a large mental home for the deranged and I am running around naked in it looking for a diaper and people are chasing me with magnifying glasses yelling, " really is that all you got"? Not to worry Godess, the stats show men are more likely to get Covid 19 more than women. Clearly God is a lesbian and planned all this. I should have never annoyed Jody Foster and told her she walked like Clint Eastwood.

  11. No it isn’t anecdotal and the stats have been presented on this site long ago. How is the PM a King? In the end, all Trudeau can do is propose legislation that has to be passed by Parliament in the Commons and Senate. It must also be constitutional and get the GG’s signature. A lot of legislation gets sent back by parliamentary committee for re-writes, and sometimes there’s consultation galore.

Sadly for you, this forum isn't composed of 12-years-old, and your "arguments", being at the level of a 12-year-old, aren't working.

  15. I think most states are looking at opening plans. All Canadian provinces certainly are. These 14 days of declines are probably not the best way to gauge a recovery. The concern would be places that open up after cases have peaked vs places opening up just as their cases/deaths are spiking.

  17. Tell that to the thousands of poor blacks who are forced to plea bargain and in some cases plea guilty to crimes they didn’t commit. Tell it to the thousands of victims of gun homicides. The Prime Minister has one vote. It’s true that he can whip a vote of support from the members of his party, but that can be quite a gamble at future leadership votes. Also, if the PM acts against the public interest, he or she can be removed through dissolution of Parliament by the Governor General. Federal US laws restricting weed mean that your property can be confiscated. If you have more than a certain amount of money on you, it can be confiscated. Law enforcement is generally more brutal and incarceration rates much higher, yet so are crime rates.

  20. The hunting rifles mention in the 65 page document about the ban are bolt action rifles, they do not share any of the characteristics as an assault rifles, the looks are different , the actions are different, everything is different , be like comparing a pick up with a car.... Just for the record firearms are not classified by looks, and looks alone although it seems the way the liberals are banning them, and within Canadians firearm laws some look alikes are banned and a lot of them are not, there is NO consistency on why some are banned and many are not.... So that theory is a moot point.... This tidbit does not have any bearing on the topic, replica guns are non firing display models, and they themselves are not illegal you can get a replica gun on almost any firearm available around the globe....they are meant for display or teaching purposes only... and yes you can be arrested for a replica gun, a BB gun, a pellet gun, wooden gun or a water gun if you attempted to use it for a crime....any crime... and like the stats have already suggested well over 90 % of these crimes like the one you suggested are done with illegal fire arms...not ones that are legally purchased by law abiding citizens…. The banned fire arms have nothing to do with that at all, or there would be thousands of these look a likes on the list.... Why must these fire arm owners be slammed into a category, be like me saying all guys with penis enlargements are slu**y studs , ....these people who own these wpns come from across the political spectrum, liberals, conservatives, NDP, i'd say green but they are to consumed about hating everything....but hey you can't make a point with pulling out the old right wingnut category....fire arms are used for many things, sport shooting, hobbies, hunting, work, protection , they are a tool that can be used many ways....besides if you actually knew anything about firearms , you'd already know most of those firearms on the banned list you can't hunt with....it's illegal already, i'll say it again it is illegal to hunt with a restricted long gun...they are for going to an RCMP approved Range only, you need a pass to transport them to and from the range "no stopping" or you face charges... so much for the hunters dick extension theory.... See this is just more bullshit, we are talking about deaths do to firearms and your bringing up air soft guns must be a leftist thing.......because they cause injuries to eyes, teeth, soft tissues etc....but yet playing hockey you can the same injuries or more, do we put on war paint dance around the camp fire naked shouting ban hockey you could get hurt, come on...whats next ban clogging with wooden shoes due to splinters.......one of the very reasons they went to air soft was it was safer than other fire arms such as pellet, and bb guns....as they fire a ceramic ball at a much lower velocity.... How so , have you read any of the 65 pages of written material on the ban, do you know anything about the current gun laws, then how would you know that they consulted anyone, because Justin or blair told you on the media, same guys that brought you the SNC scandall or the ethic commissionaires report, or how about firing of the Justice minister...Ya those guys are trust worthy....if experts had been used I think the list would have been shorter, and would not include anti tank missiles and launchers , because everyone has them except the army....airsoft rifles, shot guns ,bolt action rifles lets not forget landmines.....all would have been vetted out, also the liberals would not have to use the tear provoking speeches like , these guns are responsible for domestic violence....and should be banned, according to the vice PM, they are designed to kill the most people as fast as possible, they were actually designed for the civilian population with government approval....not to mention they can only have a 5 round magazine....And for some reason I don't think this is going to make it to court, I think the cons will be taking power and all of this non sense will be for nothing....thats the day liberals across the country heads explode...it's going to be a good day wear your rain gear it's going to get messy... more bullshit, we have already established that there has only been 29 deaths due to legally owned fire arms....in the last 30 years, less than 1 homicide a year....and 0 by the AR-15 family of firearms....but because they are not effected they don't give a rats ass, if it keeps us safer or not....what they have said loud and clear to all those that use fire arms in a sport, or at the range, or as a hobby....we don't care we don't like you, Martha get the signs out we got a new cause to march to...you make me feel unsafe, and yet they have been around for dozens of years You do know that Canadian law is much different than US law, to defend you family you can only use proportionate response, you can not kill or harm an attacker with a fire arm if they are not armed with a gun atleast not with out receiving some criminal charges for your Police dept....hence why they say sometimes it is better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6...

  21. I will pretend that I did not read the second point by rationalizing that you are so far brainwashed and I won't take it personally, you are just a communist agitator that does not understand the value of hard work and having original ideas to produce and deliver a service to another human being. I spent some time to understand along the years why human beings commit such atrocities towards other human beings and I came to the conclusion it all boils down to the group mentality. It does not matter if it is communism, fascism, white nationalism, black nationalism, Asian nationalism, Hindu theocracy, Muslim theocracy even Buddhism nationalism/theocracy in Myanmar . Some are reactions to others and is hard to say who started it all. The chicken or the egg ? People at the individual level are good, but if they go in an organized group combined with some economic insecurity they commit atrocities that's precisely why focusing on the individual is the key to freedom and of understanding between people. The main goal of the communist above and their fascist brethren is to recruit people, is to take away your individual freedom and to become a sheep. My advice to every free independent out there is to move along and stay alert because we have a saying back home: "If you get in the middle of two pigs fighting, you might become one".

  22. As an Ashkenazim Jew, it's too bad you lack viable intel for why you all should be very happy about this decision by Trudeau. It is done, solely, to protect Canada's Ashkenazim interests from disgruntled Caucasian homegrown terrorists, who do not appreciate the Canadian Globalists "Z-world" aspirations.

  23. You and the others don't get it at all, and I don't think you ever will, This about banning something arbitrarily, without thinking the problem through, nor having the facts behind them to convince all Canadians it is being done because it will make our country significantly safer when it will not accomplish any of that... Nothing the Liberal government has said , and nothing that the left has been said here on this forum has been based on facts and stats... And when I have repeatedly given sources and stats that back up my side of this debate they are ignored... Most Canadians are making this decision to support this action because they don't know all the facts and for some reason they REFUSE to either look at them when they are presented, or just state they represent the alt right, and hate mongers as someone put it and I can't have that.... I don't support this because I'm just an army guy, I own fire arms all bolt action rifles and one shot gun, because I hunt, and enjoy spending some time at the range.......I don't need any other firearms at the moment....nor do I see me needing to have one of these firearms in the future....That being said there are people who do own these firearms and enjoy using them in a hobby, or sport shooting That are already heavily regulated by law...... and you and others have basically said tough shit, I don't like those firearms, and i want them gone for no other reason than I don't like them I cant tell you why.........why would I support something that makes no sense and will not accomplish the goals that the liberal government has laid out....plus takes what ever pleasure away from another group that you did not even know existed.....And out of the blue our government has decided to ban them , and in doing so it uses false propaganda, and out right lies to gain the support of the people....As an other liberal has already said after to many drinks, if you shout it loud enough and often enough the people will believe you....in other words Canadians are to stupid or lazy to do some research, and are happy to be belt feed lies and garbage and believe it like it was true.... If they can do this without having any evidence to support their actions what makes you think they can not do this with any other item or practice... I'm only guessing but I assume you have moved out of moms basement judging by your age, but one should never assume.......I also assume you served in the Chinese or ex Warsaw pact military, or perhaps some African nation. These firearms that you claimed to have used are not the same firearms that any military uses as any ex military person could tell you....The ones that are banned where designed to be used by civilians, they operate very differently, and are not made to kill the most amount of people in a short time...And all the items required to make them a military grade rifle are illegal here in Canada, punishable by a prison term, huge fine, fire arms taken away for life and no longer able to use or own firearms again....the risk of getting caught is huge, and is just not worth it...

  24. Tell that to the anti free speech liberals and democrats who do not believe in freedom of speech unless it is their version of freedom of speech. The right has never put restrictions on freedom of speech as far as I know. But it is the liberals and democrats that are always trying to take away our rights to our freedom of speech and assembly and making more anti gun laws. The liberals and democrats are always out there trying to divide and conquer by always trying to start up and then try and get one group fighting against another group. Hundreds of billions of our tax dollars are blown every year on totally useless gun laws, but yet the commie liberals seem to want to create more anti gun laws and then be able to waste more billions on stupid gun laws. Liberalism and it's stupid ideology will never go away until the buffoons out there stop voting for liberals, socialists and communists who have and never will be able to offer we the people anything but more taxes, more government and less freedom. One would swear that most Canadians love their big government and high taxes. If it were possible to just get 50% of the people to start to think for themselves, rather than let our politicians or the lying media do their thinking for them, and start to use more logic and common sense and intelligence rather than with bleeding heart emotionalism and foolish talk this country could be one of the wealthiest and greatest countries on earth. But more gun laws is never going to make this country great. All it will do is to keep this country perpetually always in debt. Our tax dollars being blown on stupid gun laws is one of the reasons why Canada has become such an ass of a country. Just saying. Works for me.

  25. That's the Fed's purview at this point. Cite the infighting we're seeing in the US between governors and 45. DoFo and JT are aggressive political rivals. JT talked about him all the time in the October election. But both have buried the hatchet for the good of the country. You don't see either shit talking each other when they have daily press briefings. Which they still do, unlike Trump who turned them into political rallies and hocked bunk science and unhelpful treatments.

  28. I usually fish this time of year and usually catch fish. But not this year. Few fish left for a variety of reasons. Garbage along the highways, however is in abundance. And I discovered that I do not care much if I have a fish at the end of the line or a soiled diaper at the end of my litter picking stick; both are a measure of success. My rough estimate for our "virgin" Northern British Columbia roads running through what used to be breathtaking scenery is that you can fill up a bag every 50 to 100 meters doing both sides of the road. If you see 1 item, you find at least twenty items when looking around. The most common items are beer cans, followed by McDonalds cups with a plastic lid, straws, plastic bottles, glass bottles and jars, cigarette boxes, plastic bags, auto-parts, tires, container lids, lunch boxes and trays. Diapers are not that uncommon; found 3 of them today; I sometimes catch 3 steelhead on a good day. Went up along a forestry road in the middle of nowhere in the Nass valley and in the 2km I still found two bags of plastics, cans and other garbage! You'd think if this is a result of a few bad apples, the rest of us, the cautious ones will be able to clean after them and live in a tidy place. Since this is not the case, I have to assume that the majority of our population are bad apples with just a few good ones here and there who are drowning , like me, in this crap. Since fish are disappearing (surprise surprise), I am convinced that a day will come when those morons chucking their garbage where they see fit, will be served that soiled diaper for dinner and that old bottle of engine oil for a drink! In the past two weeks I have removed over 12 bags full of garbage. Still a drop in the sea!

  33. Using an O in C for something as large and controversial as this is, while refusing to convene Parliament to debate the issue, is dictatorial, so yeah, he acting like a dictator right now. Confiscating tens of millions of dollars of private property with the stroke of a pen, without going to Parliament in the middle of a public-health emergency while only a minority gov't is not only dictatorial but sneaky and conniving among other things

  34. He can be censured or defeated by Parliament, or dismissed if he over-steps. That is not the position of a dictator. The government is in a minority position and a non-confidence motion will force an election. As it stands now, the new firearms regulations will likely have the support of the NDP, the BQ and the Greens, so in what way is he a dictator? Ownership of a firearm is a privelege granted by the Crown. It is not a right.

  35. If you think I secretly believe Canada is wildly racist - you'd be very wrong. What I DO think - you and Marocc are doing something called "projecting" - you project your own racism onto innocent people. Because I don't believe either of you are actually concerned about racism.

  39. Two comments. First: the map on the first page is wildly wrong. It shows Japan somewhere in the middle, and I can tell you from what I have learned about Japanese culture, there needs to be a special colour for them WAY more racially discriminating than any other country. Speak with anyone who survived Japanese occupation in WWII and you will get a clear picture of just HOW they expressed their racism. Second: EVERY country and every person is to some extent racist. To deny so is either to be lying or foolish. The EXTENT of racism, and how it plays out in daily life is what matters. One of the most racist people I know (in his beliefs) is also one of the most generous in donating his time and money to less fortunate people - even though he may not agree with their beliefs based on race or background culture. THAT is what makes Canada the greatest nation to live in on this planet. BTW: I don't want to take anything away from our good friends to the South who led the charge to eliminate slavery, but just remember where much of the underground railway ended....

  40. This is just an accusation disguised as a question Marocc. The question is predicated on your false assertion that Canadians are more racist than people in other places. That's patently false, so your initial question is just a weak attempt at hate mongering. How do I know it's false? Canadians don't kill our own people just for blasphemy. Canadians don't kill other Canadians because of their sexual orientation. It's highly illegal in Canada to physically attack other Canadians out of bigotry, and in cases where that does happen, a perpetrator can face as much as ten extra years in prison for their "hate crime". This is the will of the people. The majority. It is an accurate reflection of the average Canadian. Hence, I say that Canadians are less bigoted than a lot of other countries. A better opening question is, what's your problem with Canadians Marocc? What gives you the impression that Canadians are more racist than people from other countries? Do you feel like you're less racist than Canadians? Do you feel like you're less of a bigot than most Canadians? What your ethnic origin? Your religion, or lack thereof? Are people from your country, or your religion, the types to kill others for being different? Let's go Marocc.

When I personal see hundreds of thousands of illegal so called refugees crossing into Canada illegally, and breaking our immigration laws w/o a care, and costing the Canadian taxpayer's hundreds of billions of their tax dollars going to those illegals, to feed, clothe and house them is no doubt one of the reasons why racism may be on the rise. Just saying.

  43. Tribalism. Distrust and fear/resentment toward the out-group. The thinking is: you're not one of "us", your culture and behaviour is inferior to ours, you being in our community is like a trespassing making our society worse, we don't want "more" of you here, we don't want you "replacing us" or moving in our territory etc. So this leads to resentful and hateful actions or words. It's an old human survival instinct i think. My tribe vs your tribe. Protect the tribe from outside threats. Every ethnic group and country has many people racist towards others. As said, Canada probably one of the least and most inclusive.

  44. Canada is one of the LEAST racist countries in the world and actively works at stamping it out. Why would you be overly concerned about racism in Canada when the MOST racist countries are Middle Eastern and Islamic-ruled countries? If you are truly concerned about racism, I would start there.

  45. 1 So they're unnecessary anyway, and now banned. All good. 2 I was not talking about hunters. They are not the concern here. (You need to read more carefully, as you've interpreted this all wrong, perhaps intentionally to stir the pot?) NOBODY is trying to take away necessary hunting guns. However, there is concern about the increasing propensity for terrorism among the far-right delusional gun nuts, Nazi wannabes who want to incite 'race wars'. We don't need them running around with wannabe assault rifle lookalikes. I doubt the lame-leaders Conservatives will be taking power and walking this law back any time soon. They've isolated themselves out of relevance, into a corner consisting of far right goons with pimped up guns, religious bigots and those with their heads stuck in the oil sands. They can't represent Canadians, can't conduct the necessary business of the country, and have little relevance at the national level anymore, imo. It looks like the courts will decide what guns can be banned and why, and it will be interesting to see the the rationale ... but it won't be soon.
