A better question is how many are burned down by raging mobs of Muslims and how many Coptics are murdered.2 points

I caught part of a discussion in which a Muslim woman tried to use this excuse, saying most Muslims didn't support violence against others. The response from a somewhat agitated woman on the panel whose name I forget was, to paraphrase "Most Germans didn't support the slaughter and wars their country engaged in but they didn't oppose it either. Most Russians didn't support the bloody pogroms and starvation and wars, but they didn't oppose it either. Most Chinese weren't involved in or supporting the cultural revolution, but that hardly mattered since their acquiescence enabled these things to happen. Saying you don't actively support something is irrelevant when your participation and lack of opposition in your group or nation enable that group or nation's power and violence.2 points

I can easily acknowledge that there is Muslim extremism and that those people target innocent people Muslims and non-Muslims both. What I don't acknowledge is that it this extremism is representative of Muslims generally.2 points

He would have to be an idiot to not at least say it was a terrorist attack. That's nothing new. But do you think he'll every say it was an Islamic terrorist attack or a jihadist attack? Never.2 points

After reflecting on this, I now realize that this poor man probably just felt isolated and alienated from Alberta's cowboy culture. During his incarceration I think he should be fed delicious Alberta bacon and made to watch Brokeback Mountain over and over, so that he will learn to feel more at home. -k2 points

As has been shown before, the cult-like appeal of Islam to segments of its worshipers inspires violence wherever you find them, even in an unlikely place like Edmonton. http://nationalpost.com/news/crime/heavy-police-presence-near-commonwealth-stadium-officers-checking-vehicles/wcm/551a7bb4-434f-4b40-b5a4-802816d547791 point

Found some information in regards to: Does the Koran Endorse Apostasy Laws? The Koran repeatedly mentions freedom of conscience as one of its basic tenets.“There is no compulsion in religion (2:256),” and “Let him who will believe and let him who will disbelieve (18:29).” Belief is mentioned as a matter of personal choice. The next part of the latter verse makes it clear that God - not man - is the sole judge of faith (or the lack thereof) and will reward or punish as He wills in the Hereafter. This rule applied to Prophet Muhammad equally. His job was solely the delivery of the message, not its imposition by force. God says in the Koran: “So if they submit, then indeed they follow the right way; and if they turn back, then upon you is only the delivery of the message...(3:20).” And: “Obey Allah and obey the Messenger and be cautious. But if you turn back then know that the duty of Our Messenger is only a clear deliverance of the message (5:92).” This theme is repeated throughout the Koran. Man is given free choice to accept the message of Islam, refuse it, or turn back on it. God reserves the right to impart judgment for these choices in the afterlife.1 point

Yes, mainstream Islam rejects Ahmediyya ideology and ISIS ideology. The question is why do YOU keep pushing the violent ISIS ideology as Islamic, but denying the peaceful Ahmeiyya one as un-Islamic?1 point
-
Islam's plan is world domination. It's right in the Quran. So why go to the House of dar-al-Islam? The House of dar-al-Harb (war) seems a much better destination for Muslims if it is to dominate and humiliate the infidel...that is also in the Quran.1 point

This is untrue. I check what everyone says, not just you. I am sure not all Muslims are violent. And not all of them hate Jews. I just believe these views are a lot more prevalent than you think. A lot more mainstream than you think. For instance, when I see 30-40 Muslims attack a young Israeli girl on a town's facebook page and not one of the other 100 Muslims on the site stop any of the rest of them, you are trying to tell me that these 30-40 Muslims are like the only ones in the world who hate Jews. How did all the Muslims in the world who hate Jews all end up in Fort Mac? Sorry, but it makes more sense to me that hatred of Jews is a lot more mainstream than you like to admit. You also deny that these mainstream beliefs have any effect on them, just because they didn't actually kill the Israeli girl. You argue that Muslims in general love Jews and respect women. I just don't see that being played out nearly as often as I see the opposite. Those beliefs are the roots of the hatred and violence Islam. Someone who is taught from birth that women are a sub-class of humanity that they are free to beat as they feel necessary and that Jews are dogs and pigs, that prays 5 times a day for victory over non-believers - these are extremist views to me and the holders of such beliefs only need a small push to become violent - an imam who preaches radical Islam or a father who feels his honour has been shamed by a daughter who refuses to wear a hijab or wants to date a non-Muslim and enlists the help of his sons to kill her. That kind of hate is like walking around with a loaded machine gun - at some point your'e going to use it on someone. You only denounce the actual violence, but make excuses for and deny the hate and beliefs that precede it. If there is as little hate, intolerance and violence in Islam as you say, then it is not in need of any reform. This is why you are confusing - on one hand you will occasionally, reluctantly agree that Islam needs reform, while at the same time insisting there is nothing going on in Islam that needs reform and it's all just bad press, Islam being picked on for no reason.1 point

And yet you yourself said more than half of the Koran deals with how to treat unbelievers, and that most of the 'good' were in earlier passages which are contradicted and thus superseded in later passages.1 point

Another white nationalist terrorist kills people, but OMG MUSLIMS ARE THE REAL DANGER! I'm sure his mental stability and health will be brought up by the Islamophobes. Only because he's not a Muslim.1 point

There are approximately 1 Million peaceful Muslims in Canada. There are close to 1.6 billion peaceful Muslims around the world. Unless of course one is going to claim that if they aren't out killing apostates and unbelievers, they aren't 'real Muslims'. I know the gullible fall for this line of 'reasoning', but I guess I can't fix stupid.1 point

The Pact of Umar is part of mainstream Islamic jurisprudence. It's WHY Zionists were allowed to buy and live inside the Ottoman Empire. As for it not being enforced today: how many new churches are built in your Egypt every year?1 point

Throughout the entire history of Islam, the belief that Islam is 'the house of peace' and EVERYWHERE ELSE is 'the house of war' has prevailed. Muslim nations and warlords have considered all non-Muslim nations to be fair game for attack, conquest and murder without restraint. The only thing which has stopped them has been that their own growing backwardness compared to others has robbed them of the military ability to conquer anyone else for the last couple of centuries. It has not, however, changed their attitudes. If the Muslim countries of the world had the military ability to do so they would most certainly be attacking their non-Muslim neighbors today. They wee never treated equally, nor are they treated equally today in the Muslim world.1 point

Oh, I get it ... when Mainstream Muslims deny ISIS and it's violent ideology, that is to be ignored. When Mainstream Muslims deny Ahmadiyya's non-violent ideology that is to be accepted. Logic and consistency are not your strong points, are they?1 point

See? This is a group that uses the Koran to practice a specifically pacifist Islam and you deny them. Your claim that I can't produce an example of peaceful Islam is disproven again. So again, GFY.1 point

It does not affect me. I don't worry about myself. I worry about people that have to live under such repulsive laws. It sickens me to think that women living in canada in fear, because of a regressive religion. Every society has its evilness especially islam. If Islam was such a beautiful or peaceful religion, there would be not problems, but it is not. Nor does it every want to be either.1 point

Interesting article - at least we finally have a definition of Islamophobia that Muslims are happy with: The guidebook, which seems to have been released in late September, appears to be heavily influenced by the National Council of Canadian Muslims, an activist organization based out of Ottawa. The RCMP pulled its support from a booklet published by the NCCM on extremism due to their problem with its “adversarial tone. While parliamentarians are currently grappling with how to define the term Islamophobia, the guide offers a broad definition to be recited to students that includes the mere dislike of political Islam: “Islamophobia refers to fear, prejudice, hatred or dislike directed against Islam or Muslims, or towards Islamic politics or culture.” "Any dislike of Islam's politics or culture". I'm not sure how much clearer the agenda could be.1 point

Fair enough. Which is the purpose of the other forum, isn't it? I call it circle jerk or echo chamber but cutting out noise works. I don't have an ignore list. Sadly, there are just to many stunned people around to ever get the picture. They will always try to write to off as just a coincidence, and nothing more. Saul Alinsky was just another one of those Zionists that so dearly wanted to see a new world communist order ruling the world. I think that Hillary and Obama have read that book "Rules for Radicals" numerous times and have tried very hard to try and get it implemented into America. I believe that Canada is now ruled by a bunch of radicals of the Saul Alinsky/Soros kind. Just saying.1 point

Here in Southern Alberta health care has been virtually perfect for myself, family and others we know. We have no complaints whatsoever. It's not perfect but far better then alternatives I've seen so far. I believe health care should be a right, not a privilege and everybody should have equal access regardless of financial ability.1 point

So the suspect is confirmed as a Somali national, a refugee claimant known to police for his radicalized views. My question is, why was he then allowed to stay here? Why wasn't he kicked the hell out and sent back to Somalia? And oh, by the way, most of the 'refugees' streaming across the border from the US out west are Somalis, more than half of whom have 'serious criminal records' according to border services. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/edmonton-don-iveson-terrorism-attack-lone-wolf-1.43156931 point

Ok. Good point. We need to make him eat Alberta meat (but Hallal) and watch Little Mosque on the Prairie. At the end of the day it doesn't matter much if there's a benefit to child learning or not, because that's not the purpose what FDK is and whether it was beneficial or not wouldn't have much bearing if the program continued or not I'd wager...it might only factor into if FDK or full-day daycare was chosen to be subsidized. This is about votes & the (sad) reality that we want the state to raise our kids instead of parents/families. Don't know of many other animals/mammals who have strangers raising their offspring so mommy & daddy can afford those BMW payments and the bigger house with the huge master bedroom, on-suite bathroom, & walk-in closet.1 point
