One could also look at certain parts in Canada were ownership is as high as 47 % in the north and the homicide rate much lower than the national average...You forgot that in some countries where where high homicide rates are recorded and yet fire arm ownership is low...either way there are examples of both cases high numbers of guns and lower homicide raters, plus low ownership but high homicide rates, both do not support your case...

US homicide numbers are not that high compared to third world nations where the rates are higher than 10 %....

It's more of a cultural thing than a gun thing. Switzerland also has compulsory military service and their reserves can keep their firearms at home. Nordic countries do the same. Access to ammunition is also controlled in Switzerland.

We're better than a lot of third world countries isn't something to brag about.
