Jordan Peterson says he’s left Canada and moved to the U.S.

Jordan Peterson, the polarizing Canadian psychologist, has bid Canada adieu and will now call the United States home, citing personal and professional reasons for the move. The news was revealed on a podcast this week, where Peterson and his daughter, Mikhaila Peterson Fuller, discussed his decision to move to Florida.

“Welcome to moving to America, formally,” she offhandedly said to her dad during The Mikhaila Peterson Podcast episode.

“I guess that’s what happened, isn’t it? Is this the big announcement?” said Peterson.

“There are decided advantages to being here,” he said.

Peterson made reference to his ongoing feud with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, as well as a bill targeting hate speech, among his key reasons to leave his home country.

“The issue with the College of Psychologists is very annoying, to say the least, and the new legislation that the Liberals are attempting to push through, Bill C-63, we’d all be living in a totalitarian hellhole if it passes,” he told his daughter.

“The tax situation is out of hand. The government in Canada at the federal level is incompetent beyond belief, and it’s become uncomfortable for me in my neighbourhood in Toronto,” he added

Well like it or not Peterson is worth a lot of money these days and generates a lot of revenue. He pays a hell of a lot of tax money.

That tax money will now go to the states. Some people may not care but the fact is he's not alone. For the first time in our history for the last year or two a lot of people who are wealthy and a lot of businesses that create jobs and wealth are moving away. And we lose that tax revenue

It's easy for forget but the top 20% of earners in Canada pay the vast majority of the taxes, close to 70 percent. 

As they leave more and more of that tax burden is shifted downstream. And there's less and less to pay for the services that the poor need

 

The fact is we do need a lot more Jordan Peterson's in Canada. That is unless you're prepared to give up a lot more of your income in taxes

Peterson used to be a really big deal. We didn't have anyone famous flying the conservative flag a few years ago because cancel culture had everyone running scared. 

Peterson came out and represented conservative values eloquently and unflinchingly, and put us back on the map, but now it seems like conservative and relatively conservative podcasts are dominating cyberspace.

Funny thing: it turns out that we're the exact opposite of leftists in terms of how we like to receive info: we like longer, more in-depth interviews and discussions, they just want headlines and soundbites without substance. 

Leftists are happy to let their leaders just bloviate in front of a teleprompter, conservatives want leaders who will answer questions.

He did recant at the House of Commons committee, and then later traded in his potential role as a sober intellectual leader for the top hat and red blazer of the circus Master in the culture war circus.

I remember when interview early on when he was discussing the whole situation and how the left reaction to him was actually forcing him to make more money. He said every time the left opened its mouth to complain about him more people took interest in tuned in and got excited about what he was saying, he basically said he accidentally weaponized the left for profit without meaning to but every time he addressed one of their critisizms they got louder and he made more money
