Pure evil violation of your right to select medical treatment.  Nobody’s business.  Coercion through taking away someone’s livelihood and basic freedoms is pure evil totalitarian.  Requiring a vax pass is horrific and pure slavery.

What about the idea amongst the CPC base that says anything outside it is a communist fascist Nazi?

I'm assuming a cuckservative is even worse.

Most current governments in Canada are totalitarian.

How do you measure totalitarianism/freedom?  The one in the link below seems quite comprehensive measurement.  Do you have a different source for measurements that would differ?

Based on what?  Want to compare levels of freedom between the countries in Nazi occupied Europe?  You’re living under totalitarian dictates that coerce you to obey a medical program to enjoy basic freedoms that themselves have been reduced to a shadow of the rights enshrined in our Charter of Rights and Freedoms (now a defunct historic document).  Canada is an oppressive country now.

You didn’t check their website?

The 12 Categories of the Human Freedom Index:

  • Rule of Law
  • Security and Safety
  • Movement
  • Religion
  • Association, Assembly, and Civil Society
  • Expression and Information
  • Identity and Relationships
  • Size of Government
  • Legal System and Property Rights
  • Access to Sound Money
  • Freedom to Trade Internationally
  • Regulation

The Human Freedom Index gives each country a score from 0 to 10, wherein a score of 10 represents the most freedom and 0 represents no freedom at all, in each of the 82

Nazis?  You really didn’t look at the website, or its criteria, did you?  I never saw Nazi mentioned in their factors.

Based on what criteria?  Temporary vaccination mandates?  Is that the only criterion?

Why would you think that’s the only measure of freedom?

I'm still trying to decide where I stand on the mandates.  My issue is the level of liberty lost should be balances with the severity of the public health threat.  So far COVID has been a whimper knocking off a whole 1/10th of 1 percent, of many who would have died within the next few years anyhow.

Those groups that do these studies have no clue as to what real life is like in the nations they "study".  Their analysis is pure garbage.  In Switzerland military service is required.  That's not very free.   New Zealand and Australia have been downright fascist this whole time over COVID.

Canada does not have rule of law.  Law in Canada is a game for lawyers and those who are connected to them.  We have a legal system but definitely not a justice system.  It is so easy to win civil suits of so called defamation.  Even criticizing a government official can get you sued.

they are based on a shallow review of the countries in question.  I imagine the ranking was done at someone's desk looking at wikipedia and they never actually visited Canada.  Canadians have rights to polite speech, but definitely free speech is not a Canadian freedom.

I’ve pushed that Human Development Index stuff for years.  Please teach me something new.  You can’t have a serious conversation about freedom in Canada when we’re living under mandates and restrictions, and people are forced to carry vaccine passports to have reduced freedoms.

Freedom right now in Canada rests entirely on your level of income, because only independently wealthy people can afford to risk testing positive and having to quarantine.  It’s really only a right for single people or couples, because what families can afford the PCR tests and the possibility that one family member will test positive, causing the whole family to quarantine?  If you don’t have a couple of additional weeks vacation to burn after your trip, you can be fired if you’re forced to quarantine.  Wealthy people can afford property and space to enjoy comfort while quarantining or under lockdown.

The whole Canadian program of testing and making asymptomatic people who test positive and their family members quarantine is the biggest scam going.  End all testing (except for sick people with possible Covid symptoms).  End all mandates and restrictions.  Canada right now is a fascist state run by out of touch elites who piss on essential workers like truckers.

Most definitely.  We hear stories of NHL players jumping the hospital queue to get their treatment.  Also the law does not work for the working poor.  If you are charged murder and get off the charge, you are left with $100,000 legal bills.  The poor should have access to the same quality of legal representation.

When money is needed to buy our most basic freedoms (supposed to be protected by the Charter), you know you’re in an oppressive country.

Can you name a country with a better legal system than Canada?
Can you give us an example of where criticizing a government official got someone sued?

Do you think mainstream Canadians share that view, or is yours more of a fringe opinion?

You have only mentioned a single criteria:  temporary vaccine mandates.

What could be more shallow than that?

Will be interesting to see where the Cons go. Whether more libertarian or authoritarian right. Unfortunately I feel it's more likely to be the latter.

It's strange that I'd consider PPC about now. They get a lot wrong about trans issues but so does the woke left which is overtaking the Lib and NDP parties.

All the left-wing parties have gone so far authoritarian that it's getting scary. No good options right now sadly.

Yeesh that’s how screwed up our priorities are.  Trans issues is what we’re worrying about?  We’ll be lucky to salvage half the freedoms in our Charter at this point.

Are you stamping your feet and screaming still about taking reasonable health measures to protect your neighbour?  Even little school children had to be vaccinated to protect the other kids in schools.  Or did you somehow think it was evil and escape it?
