Except you would be going from the fire pan into the fire. The USA Republic is over.  It is now a banana republic where Mexicans and Democrats call the shots during elections.

Looks like Britain is the only large western power committed to maintaining democracy.  The US is in full-scale culture war.  Canada is firmly under socialist control and opposition is discredited.  If the situation doesn’t change soon, those who care about freedom with the ability to leave Canada will do so.  I trust Westminster over the Canadian Parliament.  Canadians aren’t protecting their constitution.  It raises serious questions about the value of Confederation.

Hey Army Guy, I think we need the army to deal with the occupiers in Ottawa and Alberta.  The police and Mayor of Ottawa have lost control and can't seem to do the job.

The army is not the right tool, ask those at OKA, maybe electing someone that can handle it is the solution...

You're probably correct.  Just a thought.  The police need to act like police and move in and arrest the illegal blockaders.  The mayor and chief of police idea of being soft and avoiding confrontation is a joke.

That works, may take a while to sink in though. Gas at the pump today above 1.50 one of the highest yet.

If anyone has been to Europe on travels the first thing they find is how impossibly expensive the cost of living is.  Europeans have to have master degree level employment to afford to eat.  Canada over the last 5 to 10 years has become more European, or even closer to Australia/New Zealand for affordability.  I can tell you for my family I have had to revise our grocery budget over and over again.  My wife and I make pretty much the average household income for Canadians and we can barely afford to eat.

Could it possibly be that the narrative of unruly protesters is a Trudeau fabrication and the protesters are in fact peacefully demonstrating?

Just give it a few days. Hong Kong protests lasted months but something tells me this is no China. Democratic of course. China, too.

But there's a difference of course. Sure, there's. Take CBC for example. What?

It is no longer a "demonstration or protest".  It is an illegal occupation.  Get educated!

Given that this is clearly not the "fringe minority" Trudeau claims they are and given the support the convoy has from Canadians across the country, why do you think Trudeau refuses to speak with them about their concerns?

I mean, in 2020 when the farmers in India were protesting, Trudeau counselled the Indian government to listen to and dialogue with the protesters.  Why do you think he is going against his own advice now?

I mean, your country is in revolt.  Wouldn't a good leader at least hear what their concerns are?

The nation did elect someone just a few months ago. Now a bunch of far right extremists appear trying to overthrow the will of the nation by intimidation and occupation of the Capital city. Unfortunately the use of Arm forces may become necessary as a last resort.

Kind of like when groups protested the rail way lines in Ontario, or blocking construction of the new pipeline...those lasted weeks months...protests don't become illegal becasue they inconvenience some... The center of the world is Ottawa, thats everyone target for protests...you would think they would know that by now...

Amazing howvthey are hating on Russia right now when our politicians have turned the country into a third world dictatorship in the name of "safety".

People arrested for going to church. You'd think this was North Korea

It's also inconvenient to be treated like the plague when you go into a restaurant or lose a job over an ineffective vaccine

I believe the illegal blockades of the railways, pipelines, etc. should have been dealt with quickly and they should have been removed. This country is self-destructing and allowing illegal blockades and occupations to carry on under the false claim that they are legitimate protests, which of course they are not.  They have nothing to do with freedom of speech or assembly.

Perhaps you and a few tanks can sort this out for the Dear Leader.

The Conservative caucus has ousted O'Toole by a 61% vote.  This could be partly because of his support of the trucker's convoy.  He was a disaster.  He likely alienated most Canadians.  The problem is his replacement will probably also oppose the health measures and support the fringe anti-vax truckers.  Most Canadians are not supporters of anti-vaxxers or anti-health measures.  This will not help the Conservatives in the next election.  The whole Conservative disaster is helping Trudeau and Liberals.
