  1. Thank you, Kevin McCarthy and Tucker Carlson

  2. You cannot understand plain English if you think I am a proponent of going to war. I said that we should go to war only if Putin invades NATO territory. This has been US foreign policy since the 1950’s and it is a legally binding obligation of the United States of America.

  3. Please stop feeding trolls or i-s here (I regret but what other logical options remain?) Kicking out corrupt governments and leaders is a sovereign right of free people. - Putin had and has no business telling free people what government they can and couldn't have. - Putin had no right to invade an independent European nation, breaking all international laws. - Putin is a war criminal, he belongs on the accused bench in the Hague like his spiritual predecessors, in Nuremberg. - Russia needs to be kicked out of Ukraine and pay dearly and long for her atrocities for Europe and the world to return to any kind of normalcy. Otherwise, Putin's recipe will be used by all dictators, big and small current and the future, all the way to the apocalypse that from possibility will become inevitability.

  6. Notice how @Nationalist amd the rest of the far right crackpots have not posted on this thread in over 10 days and even when they did post, they tried to change tue subject to CNN, Biden’s laptop, Covid conspiracies, Wikipedia, etc. Not one of them is able to discuss the actual points relevant to the topic of this thread which to recap are: 1) Even Fox doesn’t believe the election conspiracy lies that its pundits it peddles to the gullible classes. 2) Tucker and other pundits complaining that the news division should stop report that Biden won the election fair and square because it is “not what our viewers want to hear”. In all of their internal emails and texts not once do any of them indicate that they believe the election was actually stolen, they basically only argue that their viewers could move to other right wing outlets unless the Fox “news” department starts reporting the fake news that their hyper-partisan nutjob audience already believes to he true b 3) And the icing on the cake, which is Tucker has hated Trump this whole time.

  8. Funny you mention that. As a boy, my father asked my grandfather why they didn’t speak Norwegian in the home like the Pedersons down the road spoke Swedish. My father was told that they didn’t speak Norwegian because they weren’t in Norway.

  9. They should because you say so... Ok, that makes so much sense. In the US, if you look at migration data from the Census you discover that they are not moving from Urban area to the country. Instead, they are moving from one urban area to yet another urban area. The only exceptions are somewhat dubious.. the bedroom community that is 20 to 30 miles from the major metro.

  10. Huh... I'm gonna let you in on a little secret, herbie-baby. While I do think TAX-FUNDED HC is a good thing...over all... This is horseshit... My wife was in and out of the hospital with cancer treatments all through The Rona. She doesn't drive so I took her most of the time. Know what I saw...and still see? EMPTY BEDS! All over the place. The fact is...the hospitals were not lacking beds or space...the hospitals were lacking STAFF! That's still IMO the biggest failing of Canadian HC. The provinces run it like a business. Here in Ontario, nurses work part-time to avoid paying benefits. Nurses here have to hold two or more jobs at different hospitals, in order to make a full-time wage. If the governments are going to charge us taxes for HC, perhaps they should fund HC with the money they take?

  13. Basically. I worked with a girl who shamed you for mentioning Canada day. "Its not your country. You stole their land" "Do you even know what you're responsible for? Do you even know the things Canada has done?" In the most condescending voice ever. "Some people are just more aware than others!" So spewing vitriol was her way of righting the past wrongs. It literally did nothing. It also was uneducated. IE you would be better off spewing at the countries actually responsible for the taking of that land. Like you're literally angry, on the behalf of others. That is the most liberal thing you could do. Like my white friends being triggered when I faced racism. "Did you see how she demanded to check your receipt, then double checked your bag?" Uh yeah... "Thats racism!" Yeah, I wouldn't sweat it. "No! OMG I am so angry! That is unfair! You need to ask for their manager! Dude. It's fine. I really.. "No. Racism is unacceptable!" "Just because you're black, doesn't mean you're a thief!" (And I make a bad black thief joke to diffuse the tension, that makes things worse) All the while I am standing there completely confused at who had just experienced the racism. Again, it did nothing. Shamed the employee sure, but they didn't look thrilled at their job anyway. Okay pat yourself on the back. You stood up for a racialized person.

  14. The story of Rosa Parks or the civil rights movement is not CRT. The new conservative tactic of labelling anyone and anything as “woke” or “CRT” and claiming unlimited license to ban them and even jail them is just fascist censorship, period

  15. Hilarious claim completely invented by you with zero evidence. Nowhere in this company’s backpedaling denial do they claim to have been “infiltrated”. You are ridiculous man. Don’t you feel like an absurd hypocrite for demanding mountains of evidence for claims you don’t like while you personally invent baseless claims and offer zero evidence? I mean usually you’ll at least link to right wing propagandist site as “evidence” of a questionable claim circulating in the conserve-o- sphere but here you are just winging it on your own pathetic As for the company’s incomplete claim that it was “unapproved” (and made submitted by whom?) that is highly doubtful and they offer no evidence to back up their story. They claim they discovered the “unapproved” material on their own but it was too late….so then they just did and said nothing? No letter to the state of Florida calling out and apologizing for the error and asking for a redo? The letter you linked to clearly states that the revisions were made because of the new Florida law which bans “suggesting that any group is inherently racist or implies that a person can be oppressed because of their race” But course during the civil rights era people were inherently racist people were oppressed because of their race Also note that does NOT say anyone was fired That’s more of you made-up nonsense

  16. 1) Just because a fascist’s fascist agenda was stopped by “the process, the courts, media, etc” doesn’t meam that the fascist isn’t a fascist 2) Note that attacking and discrediting “the process, the courts, media, etc” with propaganda, conspiracy theories and even inciting violent mobs against these same institutions is now a standard tactic of Republicans. Meanwhile Texas is experimenting with creative ways of circumnavigating courts with its newly invented “bounty hunter” private civil suits against abortion supporters and drag queens. And Republican abuse of the emergency Supreme Court “shadow docket” process to fast-track non-urgent landmark decisions without due process is another attempt to short circuit “the process, the courts and the media etc” So given you describe these institutions as bulwarks against fascism and that their mere existence proves fascism doesn’t exist, it sort of suggests that the Republican efforts to undermine or circumvent them is in fact fascism.

  17. There's a pretty lively EV thread in the Provincial Politics forum. Do you suppose that LNG emissions to generate electricity, to charge EVs as well as many other things, are more than that from the entire Gasoline refining and transportation industry? That gas has to get to your Gas Station somehow.

  27. I will take the high and admit that I misunderstood the article to mean that there were on-school protests prior to the offsite protest But let me ask you this: if off-campus protests are beyond schools jurisdiction how would feel about a student who say held public Nazi or KKK-rallies denouncing Jews and minorities? Not that I’m necessarily comparing these to this student but I’m curious where you think the line is.

  28. Ok I inferred that from this passage but I now think I misunderstood: “In November he organized and led a protest with the intent of stopping transgender people from using the washroom of their choice, and he was originally issued suspensions up until he was recently issued a ‘non-disciplinary exclusion' notice by the RCCDSB.“

  29. Hey dumbass the publisher was named right in this thread’s OP. 3rd paragraph. As usual you MAGAs don’t read before reacting and spouting their made up nonsense propaganda Now you dishonestly claim we said DeSantis had personal inout on this particular textbook, as if to suggest that since he wasn’t personally involved its ok even though It’s HIS LAW that mandates this revisionist censorship in the first place. You've clearly backed yourself into a corner here and now are just throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping something sticks and of course playing that tired old MAGA card of screaming conspiracy when reality is inconvenient.

  34. You need to get a life. It's obvious you were socially promoted in a blue state public school system because you clearly do not know jack shit about the real world. Politicians PAYING someone to come to dipshit political message boards? Earth to knucklehead, a TROLL is not someone who posts items you disagree with. A troll exists ONLY to cause trouble and posts no actual facts. It's ironic since I post more fact in one day than ALL the woke goose steppers here have done in their entire lives. I just argue in the marketplace of ideas, same as everyone else. Is it surprising that I'm smarter than all the liberals here combined? Is that what bothers you so much, losing arguments to me? You REALLY need to get a life. Dean Wormer said it best in the last century.

  36. I disagree with your assessment. You on focus on actions instead of their actual beliefs bSomeone can hold fascist or socialist (or whatever) philosophical beliefs and be called out for it even if they don’t have the intent (or the opportunity) to conduct similar actions Furthermore: The first 2 bullets could he said about Hitler initially. Also being a fascist and being elected are not necessarily mutually exclusive and doesn’t necessarily require acts of political violence DeSantis like most MAGAs is waging an open war against the press. On occasions have call the press an “enemy of the people” and “an enemy of the state” and have called for specific members of the press to be arrested for various reasons. Many MAGAs even use the word “lugenpresse“ to refer the mainstream media, a term which menas “lying press” in German that was originally invented by Nazi propaganda A Florida Republican has a bill in legislature right now that would require anyone reporting on the Governor including bloggers to register with the state and file regular reports on their activity and funding (DeSantis himself says he doesn’t support the bill but it’s still a sign of the Florida GOP mindset). The Florida GOPers clearly have the same mentality as fascists when it comes to the press, just because their words have not escalated to the same level actions (yet?) doesn’t mean they’re not fascists Another Republican has a bill that would ban the Democratic party from the state

  39. I don't know. What's up with this "Contrarian" guy? Claiming to belong in the center but only seems interested in attacking anybody who challenges left wing dogma. And by my count he can go post for post with Reason. Or the 2, possibly 1, who don't bother claiming to be anything but hard left. I call them R&R (Rebound and Robosmith). They post like twins on anything differing from a left wing talking point in any American politics category. Or for that matter what do we think of a guy calling himself NYLefty who joins a forum to complain about the existence of a current right wing member who he claims posts too much?

  40. Honestly, if you're in a poor country and starving, your only thoughts become instinctive. You're thinking food, and water. Thinking of trans rights, is something you do in highly privileged societies. I can assure you that pronouns will mean nothing to someone from a poor country. If you approached someone taking about: "my pronouns are xir", you would either likely get laughed at, or looked at like you're crazy. Heck in countries like Thailand and the Philippines, which have among the highest trans populations globally, you will never see this coming at the forefront of public grievances. They are just allowed to coexist, unbothered. There is no culture war, as this community doesn't try to act like they are no different than a biological counterpart. They wear their trans badges proudly. Good luck going against God in a God fearing country. I find that those who use that word the most nowadays, tend to be the most intolerant to views that differ from their own. I don't think I will ever understand why I need to hate liberals, or me being a conservative somehow makes me subhuman. If people traveled more and realized that this culture war is purely a western thing, born from highly privileged circles, they would hopefully realize how wasteful that it is, to live in constant anger, and that its way more productive to keep an open mind and not take things for granted.

  41. Tell me you're a confused lunatic without telling me Which trudeau could easily fix by using the notwithstanding clause. You remember - he's the one currently screaming about how important it is to let the court strike down a law first and THEN use it. Using it per-emptively is a horrible thing according to him. For killing multiple innocent people? nope. Not enough. You one of those ones that blathers like a dolt pretending there's "ones" out there like that? I think the families of the children get to relive that horror every time he comes up for it and they have to give another impact statement. And .... now pay attention, this might be challenging for you.... if your argument is that they will never get out anyway, THEN WHY PRETEND TO GIVE THEM THE CHANCE IN THE FIRST PLACE !!!! Either there is a chance for them to get out - which there shouldn't be - or there is NO chance in which case leave the law in place. VERY SIMPLE

  43. DeSantis, Carlson Burned, annihilated to dust cities; bombed hospitals, schools and maternity wards. Hundreds, probably thousands of documented war crimes... only a "territorial dispute". A decision to participate in other people's war is an important one; it should not be taken lightly; objectivity and honesty; remembering the lessons of the past and the principles is an important part of it too. "Territorial dispute", really? This is what you call a brutal invasion by a power-hungry dictator; not a bit better than that of Hitler in the past war? "Territorial dispute between Germany and Poland, 1940?"? "Should not have provoked Hitler?" Liar. For whatever reasons, if one begins ones path with a lie of this proportion, what else is there to see? Where would it develop? How can you take it back, words burned into the history? It's sad and pathetic that for whatever reasons this individual has chosen to lie to achieve whatever purposes, appeal to whoever. He does not have to like Ukraine or support it. He can have a different opinion. But he chose to lie. In the world of tomorrow, if Putin is allowed to prevail, run by emboldened and encouraged Putins, Uns and any imaginable crazy dictator stuff with nukes you gonna focus on your more important priorities? Brainless. Stupid. The take is clear: he did not find other, honest ways to make a convincing point. And, there's no reason to expect that having done it in this obvious, as clear as can be moral case he wouldn't do it again. Nothing else to see here. End of the story.

  44. After forty-three years, the has come out: An attorney confessed that he and John Connelly, working for Reagan, convinced the Iranians to keep fifty-three Americans in captivity, promising them Reagan would give them “a better deal.” Connelly was subsequently named Secretary of the Navy by Reagan History tells us the rest: The hostages were held in Iran 444 days, and released January 20, 1981, just minutes after Ronald Reagan was sworn in. And after that, we know for a fact that the Reagan Administration illegally sold arms to Iran through France and Japan.
