  1. The desperation in these attempts to justify his feeling of superiority is just far to obvious not to point out. How many threads has he started trying to show that his opposition is too fallible to afford the courtesy of consideration? All while not showing the slightest ability to defend any of the thesis that his "heros on facebook" have posted. Yet, it will continue. He will still think of himself as superior while everyone else rolls their eyes at the sophomoric nature of his posts.

  4. New Abacus Poll: Liberal Lead Widens to 11 as Government Approval Hits New High March 15, 2026 Between March 4 and 11, 2026, Abacus Data surveyed 1,931 Canadian adults as part of our ongoing federal political tracking. This wave of research captures public opinion almost exactly one year after Mark Carney became Prime Minister and formed a government following his election as Liberal Party leader. It was also conducted after the escalation of conflict in the Middle East and mostly before the floor crossing of a New Democratic Party Member of Parliament to the Liberal caucus later in the week. Our latest tracker finds the Liberals now holding an 11-point national lead over the Conservatives, their largest advantage in Abacus tracking since August 2021. Approval of the federal government has reached a new high since Carney took office. Optimism about the country’s direction has improved substantially compared with the period before the 2025 election. And for the first time in our tracking, more Canadians say the Liberals deserve to be re-elected than say it is time for change and that there is a good alternative. Taken together, the findings suggest that one year into the Carney government, the political environment is very favourable for the governing party even as Canadians continue to navigate economic pressure and a volatile, precarious global environment. Direction of the Country: A More Balanced Mood Public sentiment about the direction of the country is far more balanced today than it was during the period leading up to the 2025 federal election. Currently, 42 percent of Canadians say the country is headed in the right direction while 43 percent say it is on the wrong track. This near-even split marks a significant improvement compared with early 2025 when pessimism clearly outweighed optimism. The contrast between how Canadians see their own country and how they view the rest of the world remains striking. Only 12 percent believe the world is headed in the right direction while 79 percent say it is on the wrong track. Views of the United States are similarly negative, with only 13 percent saying it is moving in the right direction and 79 percent saying it is on the wrong track. .... In a political environment where concerns about global instability and the direction of the United States remain prominent, this advantage gives the Liberals a powerful structural benefit. Government Approval: Highest Since Carney Took Office Approval of the federal government has reached a new high since Mark Carney became Prime Minister. Currently, 56 percent of Canadians approve of the job the federal government is doing while 28 percent disapprove. Maintaining majority approval one year into a government’s mandate is notable, especially since it followed another Liberal government with a 10-year track record.. These numbers suggest that Canadians are broadly comfortable with the direction and tone of the government’s leadership during this period. …. Leader Impressions: Carney Positive, Poilievre More Polarizing Prime Minister Mark Carney continues to maintain strong personal ratings. About half of Canadians have a positive impression of the Prime Minister while fewer than three in ten hold a negative view, giving him a net favourability score of +25, an improvement from two weeks ago. Carney’s personal standing has strengthened meaningfully since he first became Prime Minister. A year ago, his net favourability stood at +11. Today it sits at +25, reflecting a significant improvement in his personal brand with the Canadian public. Pierre Poilievre’s numbers remain more polarized but his numbers are steady. His net favourability stands at −8, reflecting a more divided public reaction to the Conservative leader. Leader impressions remain strongly aligned with vote intention. Among those who hold a positive impression of Carney, 70 percent say they would vote Liberal today. Among those with a positive impression of Poilievre, nearly three quarters say they would vote Conservative. The difference lies in the relative size of those positive universes. Carney’s positive coalition remains significantly larger. Vote Intention: Liberals Lead by Eleven If an election were held today, the Liberals would receive 46 percent of the vote among decided voters compared with 35 percent for the Conservatives. The New Democratic Party stands at 7 percent, the Bloc Québécois at 7 percent, the Greens at 3 percent, and the People’s Party at 1 percent. This represents a two-point increase for the Liberals and a three-point decline for the Conservatives compared with our previous wave. Demographically, the Liberals perform especially well among older Canadians, leading 53 percent to 32 percent among those aged 60 and over. They also lead widely among younger voters aged 18 to 29 and maintain a significant 17-point advantage among women. These coalitions combine to produce the largest national Liberal lead in Abacus tracking since August 2021. ….https://abacusdata.ca/new-abacus-poll-liberal-lead-widens-to-11-as-government-approval-hits-new-high/ 338 Sunday Update: Liberals Reach New Highs Latest polls suggest the federal race has shifted dramatically in recent weeks, lifting the Liberal projection above the 200-seat mark — an all-time high. If Canadians had been heading to the voting booths this week, the Carney Liberals would be on track to win a massive majority, according to the trends measured by federal polls over the past six weeks. … https://www.338canada.ca/p/338-sunday-update-liberals-reach

  5. It's been very confusing for me so I spent a bit of time recently thinking about it and as near as I can tell as far as the left is concerned when it comes to the middle east they're only consistent policy is that it's okay to slaughter children and innocence as long as you meant to, but if you do it by accident or necessity then you're evil. Hamas: kills over a thousand innocent civvies in unprovoked surprise attack, many of whom are women and children = good Isreal, defends itself kills innocents only by accident and without intent while hamas hides behind them using them as meat shields = bad Ayatollah kills 50,000 civvies women and children intentionally to silence people he disagrees with = good USA kills members or corrupt regime and targets their military in order to prevent them threatening civvie pops with nukes and from killing tens of thousands of their own people = bad. If we could convince them that the iranian leaders and military were ACTUALLY jewish citizens and mostly women and children in disguise, we'd have full buy in from the left

I do know the history, but if your trying to convince me that Iran's actions around the world are OK, because the big bad man in the US sorry it's not working...Iran is responsible for all of their actions...the US did not force them to be dicks that was their choice... What i believe is at some point holding Iran and it's people responsible for bringing death and destruction around the globe is OK, and they need to be stopped... in fact in many parts of the world they want it, they beg for it...The US happens to be the worlds policemen and Trump has had enough of their sh!t, and is stepping up.....You don't have to like it....you have many options available to you, live with it.....protest it, leave the country, United States is doing the world a huge favor...by stuffing these asshats into wooden boxes and preparing them for their own judgement days....Anyone cheer leading this lot should be forced to spend time in Iran and other countries that love terrorism..it is obvious you have fully taken advantage of your freedom in the US, to the point you have lost your prospective on what the basics of freedom truly are and HATE that anyone has the same rights......

  14. Agreed. Both Trump and Biden chose massive stimulus packages as a hedge against massive suffering and potentially dramatic collapse. In my view, and that of most economists, they made the right call. Inflation is the cost of economic stimulus. Economists will differ on how much of the inflationary pressure was due to stimulus rather than global supply chain constraints (typically with the latter bearing more blame) but stimulus certainly played a part. One can certainly poke holes at how it was executed, but the fact that every other economic indicator recovered and was strong is the upside to that cost. The US economic recovery was "the envy of the world" for a reason.

  16. An avid Canadian fisherman decides to cross the Peace Bridge and go over to Lewiston and fish the American side of the Niagara river. He settles down on a quiet dock and begins to fill his bucket with some nice fish when an American game warden approaches him and says, "Could I see your fishing licence please?". When he hands him his license, the game warden laughs and says that it is no good because it is a Canadian fishing licence. At this point the fisherman replies "but I'm only catching Canadian fish". The warden scratches his head for a moment and says "what do you mean?" The fisherman reaches in his bucket and pulls out a fish and asks the warden "what kind of fish is that?". The warden looks and says its a small mouth bass, to which the fisherman replies, "See what I mean, if it was an American fish it would be a Large mouth bass"

  18. By all accounts this effort involved 3 bases: Dundurn, Wainwright and Moose Jaw and 14,500 trees were planted at a cost of some $200,000. There are 170 housing units in Wainwright, and 128 between Moose Jaw and Dundurn which would mean that an average of 48 trees were planted per lot.... which is simply not reasonable. I had a long discussion with an AI bot and broke it all down for the critter... it initially argued the point (much like the discussion here) but finally admitted that this was part of the 2 billion tree project and that the landscaping model for military housing made no sense.... it took me a beer to get there: It started off saying that only two bases were involved: Yes, you're correct. The assertion that 14,450 trees were planted in relation to just 128 housing units (40 in Dundurn and 88 in Moose Jaw) is indeed disproportionate and doesn't make sense numerically. Then: Locations Included: 15 Wing Moose Jaw (near Moose Jaw) CFB Dundurn Wainwright, Alberta In order for the numbers to make sense, we had to expand into the Dundurn and Wainwright training areas and finally got to this: The total number of trees allocated for planting across these sites is part of the larger commitment to support Canada’s environmental goals, specifically contributing to the federal government’s Two Billion Trees program. Is the critter right? Well, I don't actually know and I'd be hard pressed to say I care.... all I would suggest is that a smattering of reasonableness be applied to such things. The spectacle of CE planting 48 trees in a small PMQ lot strikes me as one of the more ridiculous things I've seen them undertake but who am I to argue tree logic with a beaver. Apparently "military training areas" are now referred to as "green spaces" (cool eh?) and it looks like that's where the disconnect lies. Let's amend all the maps and call that NATO spending too.

Fxx starts babbling about everything, AG is talking battery plants and subsidies, and now after learning that Harper was the one who signed the Canadian gas emissions regulation that you thought was a joke you jumped to Biden's EV mandates. I'm guessing you're done with Harper's stewardship of the environment, right...? As far as Biden goes... It was the right idea but the requirements didn't meet the time frame reality of what the consumer wants and/or can afford. There's no doubt EV's will be the dominant selling vehicle in another 5 years or less. When they'll be mandated who knows, but manufacturers are and will continue down the EV path.

  22. That is not fact. NATO sets the standard for what counts as military spending for the purpose of meeting their target And that includes upkeep and maintenance of housing and military bases whether or not trees were a par of that 1) The cost of the “national effort to plant . billions of trees” has not been included in military costs, full stop. 2) In fact it’s the other way around: the 14,500 trees planted on various military housing and bases and - which are and always have been legitimately included in defense spending - are being counted toward the “2 billion trees” planting program under a 2022 MOU between the military and Natural Resources Canada, i.e. long before Carney was in office and therefore long before his 2% spending pledge for this year. https://www.nationalobserver.com/2022/08/09/news/department-national-defence-planting-trees-military-housing-sites#:~:text=By,of the federal %232BillionTrees program.

The Mid-Shore Multi-Mission (MSMM)vessels will replace the three mid-shore science vessels (Limnos, Otter Bay, Vector) while also filling the future gap in CCGs medium-sized utility fleet, as many of the current fleet are being replaced by much different, much larger vessels. The MSMM are expected to be 45 to 50m in length and a tonnage of < 1000MT. They will have a range of up to 3000nm and an endurance of up to 17 days. 36. Burden of proof is always on the affirmative claim. That's basic reasoning. That's why we assume innocence until guilt is proven. It's why scientific hypotheses are just that until proven by experiment. The standard for evidence is lower on an internet forum, but it doesn't disappear. Longwinded, insult-laden emotional rants don't act as a substitute. Like the unsupported claim, they're just discarded. If you make specific claims, you are the one that needs to provide evidence. Insisting it works backwards is insane.

  38. I said I was looking for evidence. I don't think the difference between evidence and absolute proof needs explaining, does it? You misquoted me deliberately. Is that what the insults are for? If something specific is being claimed, some evidence should exist for it. If none is provided, we have nothing to test or evaluate - nothing to disprove. Your longwinded personal commentary, opinions and interpretive storytelling don't build the case. You're just repeating the claim with more and more words, and insisting that people accept it.
