@LinkSoul60 Has realized that he's wrong and everybody's kind of beating up on him. As we have seen so often with the left, when cornered like that many on the left choose to try and dehumanize their opponent rather than admit they were wrong or address the issues. This tendency to attack the speaker and try and discredit the argument by saying that speaker is a bad person is known as an ad hominem attack, as you're well aware I'm sure. This is essentially what you see when people's education and debate or critical thinking hasn't gone past a great six level. He probably thought it was a witty retort and landed a telling blow 🤣🤣🤣 No link to the polls though. How interesting2 points

Australia's national debt is 30% of GDP vs Canada at 110% Australia has a functioning healthcare system. Canada does not. Australia's unemploymenr rate is 4%. Canada's is alleged to be 6.5% Australia's GDP per capita is US$69k. Canada's GDP per capita is US$58k One wonders what could account for all this. This week, an LNG tanker called the Maran Gas Hector pulled into an LNG import terminal in Saint John, N.B., after charting a 25,000 km course direct from Gladstone, Australia. The Maran Gas Hector was bringing gas into a region littered with failed or stalled proposals to send Canadian natural gas in the other direction. As far back as 2015, the Canada Energy Regulator was listing four proposed LNG export terminals on Canada’s Atlantic coast. None of these projects bore fruit, including one that would have been directly adjacent to the Saint John facility where the Maran Gas Hector ultimately docked to unload its cargo. The Maran Gas Hector is also selling gas to customers with vast reserves of natural gas located just beneath their feet. New Brunswick, in particular, is known to sit atop an estimated 77.9 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, according to Natural Resources Canada. That’s enough to fill the Maran Gas Hector at least 20,000 times. But the main reason these reserves have never been tapped is because in 2014 New Brunswick imposed an indefinite moratorium on hydraulic fracturing (fracking), the precise system that would be needed to extract the gas reserves. And New Brunswick’s gas reserves are just a small share of the Canadian total, which are about 1.4 quadrillion cubic feet. According to one analysis by the U.S. Department of Energy, that’s enough for Canada to meet all the world’s natural gas needs for 200 years. Ah, okay, I understand. It's more of that ludicrous net-zero nonsense that has captured the Left. They'd rather we be poor than develop icky fossil fuel. Even though there is zero chance this will have ANY impact on global warming. https://archive.is/2i85Z1 point

According to the Cult Education Institute, there are specific warning signs to look out for when considering whether a group might be a cult. Cults are characterized by:3 Absolute authoritarianism without accountability Zero tolerance for criticism or questions Lack of meaningful financial disclosure regarding the budget Unreasonable fears about the outside world that often involve evil conspiracies and persecutions A belief that former followers are always wrong for leaving and there is never a legitimate reason for anyone else to leave Abuse of members Records, books, articles, or programs documenting the abuses of the leader or group Followers feeling that they are never able to be “good enough” A belief that the leader is right at all times A belief that the leader is the exclusive means of knowing “truth” or giving validation1 point

There are 80 IQ people out here...your point is what? I'll peg you lower than that if you can't tell me what makes a newcomer to Canada an authority on what immigration levels should be. Maybe the 4th time I've asked so last chance.... You should understand that immigration has been dialled back but that the levels required are determined by province in consultation with government and business to level set the labor force needed and demographic goals. Your belief that something sinister is going on to prop boomers home equity and lower wages doesn't carry any weight whatsoever. Huh..??? There is a ramp up in mining, LNG terminals, TMX, and our O&G industry has record breaking production. Beyond that we're trying to attract new investment for industry. Exactly who is being strangled right now because of environmental policies? If only he had your business, economic and environmental acumen....1 point

No, I’m not “finally admitting” anything. I’ve said the same thing the whole time, you just keep trying to trap it in a yes/no box because nuance breaks your script. 1) “Are you admitting they were Nazis?” I’m saying what the evidence supports: Some early founders and members had neo-Nazi ideology and imagery. That does not prove the entire unit was uniformly Nazi, then or forever. You’re trying to turn “subset” into “whole.” That’s not a debate point. That’s a basic Venn diagram faceplant. 2) “You were pretending far-right but not Nazi” Wrong. “Far-right” is the umbrella category. Neo-Nazis sit under it. You treating “far-right” as a dodge is like yelling “LIAR!” because someone called a pickup truck a vehicle. 3) “Two groups formed the vast majority: neo-Nazis and National Socialists” You keep repeating this but you still haven’t produced an actual source showing: that the SNA was literally the Nazi Party (it wasn’t), or that “National Socialists” was the formal self-identity of “half the unit,” or that this equals “vast majority.” “Social-National Assembly” ≠ “National Socialist German Workers’ Party.” If your argument depends on word-matching, it belongs in a crossword, not a history discussion. 4) “Nazi insignias therefore Nazi battalion” Yes, some early symbols were strongly associated with neo-Nazism. That’s documented and criticized widely. No, that does not logically convert every member into a Nazi, especially as the unit expanded, restructured, and was absorbed into a state chain of command. Your rule seems to be: symbol = mind-reading. That’s not evidence. That’s cosplay-level reasoning. 5) “War crimes” There were serious abuse allegations in the Donbas conflict. Multiple armed groups were implicated; some allegations involved Azov fighters. The United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights documented abuses across parties. That supports “allegations involving Azov members,” not “everyone in the unit is a Nazi war criminal.” 6) Your “minimization” accusation Calling your leap a leap isn’t minimization. It’s correction. You keep doing this: Some extremists existed early → therefore the unit was a Nazi battalion → therefore anyone associated is a Nazi → therefore disagreement is lying That’s not logic. That’s a slogan wearing a lab coat. And the “you know that, I know that” line isn’t evidence either. It’s the rhetorical version of “trust me, bro,” just with more yelling. If you want to argue history, bring sources and stop trying to win by accusation. If you want to argue by insult and mind-reading, you’re already doing that.1 point

That's just one of the reasons that Quebec in particular is so frustrating. They have seemingly everything going for them - educated workforce, a wealth of natural resources, robust agriculture, ocean access for their ports, cheap energy...and they still lag behind. The large federal transfers enable and perpetuate their ineffeciency and waste.1 point

I didn't want it because it only contributes to the increasingly unsustainable state of Canada's ecosystems and the impact of that to our economy...for decades now. That said, it's obvious why hundreds of millions will be trying to flee increasingly drawn down regions of the world to places deemed more productive and habitable. We haven't seen anything yet in terms of human migrations or the desperation driving them.1 point

Not me LOL! I know it's a swamp out there. I've gotten enough sense of that as a volunteer in local government for nearly 45 years. I know a handful of people hereabouts who occasionally use terms like Demonrats and make dark references to MSM control and so on. I'm certainly not the only one who regards them as loons. They seem happy and harmless enough in their own little coffee klatches. Even the anti-vaxxers have one. Feelings around a small town are often obvious enough, I was part of a fairly vocal activist movement that was certainly regarded as left leaning however blue-collar it otherwise was...my particular faction got slaughtered at the time but we managed to shoehorn in a legacy of community-based involvement and engagement with the powers-that-be that's persisted. I remember a brief period when we had a small Proud Boys like movement if you want to call it that. A handful of good old boys, one or two who were known bullies as they grew up hereabouts - a little brash and outspoken, they hung balls from the bumper hitches on their pickups and even had merch. They'd pretty much evaporated by the time real Proud Boys started showing up in the news. No courage no conviction perhaps or they grew up or maybe they were just a little ahead of their time. You don't hear a peep from them now.1 point

It's a pretty stupid paradigm, with New Brunswick getting roughly 30% of their provincial revenue from federal transfers. In short, they're getting subsidized by gas-producing provinces in part because they refuse to develop their own resources. This is why the Alberta independence movement exists.1 point

Hey little Fxx.... any more links or info you need to validate the agreement you insist never happened? Let me know 🤡 China suspending some agricultural tariffs on Canada starting March 1 China to suspend 100% tariffs on Canadian canola, 25% tariffs on lobster, crab Thomson Reuters · Posted: Feb 27, 2026 5:53 AM PST | Last Updated: 24 minutes ago China said on Friday it would suspend some tariffs on Canadian agricultural products imposed during a trade spat between Beijing and Ottawa, after Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney struck an initial deal with China during a visit in January. China will suspend 100 per cent tariffs on Canadian canola meal and pea imports and will halt 25 per cent tariffs on lobster and crab imports from March 1 through the end of 2026, the finance ministry said in a statement. The outcome broadly aligns with Carney's expectations. But the Chinese announcement made no mention of canola seed tariffs, which Carney had previously said would be lowered by March 1. Ottawa expected Beijing to lower canola seed tariffs to a combined rate of about 15 per cent from the current 84 per cent. A probe into Canadian canola is set to conclude on March 9, the Chinese commerce ministry has said. "One thing we do know is that Chinese buyers have been booking Canadian canola cargoes for March already. That gives me a pretty high degree of confidence that they're going to follow through on the reduced tariff rate," said Even Rogers Pay, director at Beijing-based consultancy Trivium China. Canola oil and pork were also not mentioned in the statement. But Beijing could still announce further adjustments by the March 1 deadline previewed by Carney. China was Canada's second-largest market for canola in 2024. The suspensions come amid a wave of visits to Beijing by Western leaders as U.S. President Donald Trump's trade policies have strained Washington's traditional alliances. China has sought to present itself as a more stable and reliable economic partner in contrast. Carney went further than his European counterparts by securing a deal with China and signalling Canada's ambition to play a leading role in a new global trade order aimed at reducing dependence on the United States. During his China trip, Carney pledged to allow into Canada up to 49,000 Chinese electric vehicles at a tariff of 6.1 per cent on most-favored-nation terms.1 point

I read them both which is why I commented they were both useless. You still haven't told me what qualifies a newcomer to Canada to be an authority on where immigration levels should be, and as far as GDP is concerned it's not an accurate measure to a provinces/country's real living standards because it doesn't tell you how well it's citizens are doing or how well that economy is doing. Which policies are you referring to....or just a blanket statement? That's a stretch... Taking off conservative blue hat for moment, what qualifies Carney as dumb to you?1 point

So instead you support Carney forcing it through us. That's good enough reason to say fùck that right there. Full stop. I've seen what happens when Ottawa holds all the cards before thanks.1 point
