After the last snow storm was an unmitigated disaster with snow not being removed, trash not being collected and homeless dying in droves, Mamdani has a new idea: pay people to dig themselves out. How hypocritical of him. Getting an ID is too hard for black and brown people but getting 2 IDs, a social security card and two printed passport photos is easy enough to make $19/hr. But no one applied. Not one. So they upped the pay: Never mind that 30 - 19 is not almost 10. That is of no co sequence. Lol4 points

Not sure if we would classify this as a self own or incredibly racist you decide. https://twitter.com/dom_lucre/status/2025779848237506992?s=203 points

He's a disaster--and a hypocrite--because he's following existing labor and employment laws? I provided a detailed reply in the other thread, but the net-net is that this is a completely imaginary hypocrisy. Dumb.2 points

Professional and amateur psychologists are anxiously awaiting Trump's speech tonight. No amount of practical experience or classroom knowledge has prepared them for what they're going to hear tonight from the cognitively declining narcissist. The money line has him talking about himself, Biden, himself, Obama, himself, Clinton, himself, himself, the economy, then closing with himself. O/U for time is 90 minutes of BS flying left right and center with 342 lies sprinkled in that 100% of Maga dipshits buy hook line and sinker. Personally, I'm looking forward to the crash and burn and having a good laugh tonight!2 points

You're naive. If the CPC had won the election and PP was PM you think they still cross the floor? Not a chance.2 points

Of course it is, this threatens to drive zucchini prices through the roof. What the hell does he do then? There's some circumstances under which life isn't worth living you know!2 points

They haven't done anything good. I don't trust them. At all. It's not that they made mistakes. It's that they refuse to admit it. And that means they have no intentions of fixing them. Take Bill C-75 for just one. It's been a disaster. Canadians have suffered. Canadians have DIED because of it. Our quality of life has diminished greatly because of it. And what did they prioritize when they got back into power? Fuquing censorship bills. The only reason they made an announcement the other day about bail reform is because the Conservative forced them to prioritize it. They have to be dragged kicking and screaming to do the right thing. And even then, they blame it on Trump, they blame it on the Conservatives, they blame it on Harper. And Carney doesn't seem to have the balls to stand up to these same people sitting beside him in Parliament. He's still continuing their agendas.2 points

The economy shrank last quarter, and the canola, sea food tariffs were a retaliation for Liberal imposed tariffs on China. As a result, Canada now was to accept Chinese EVs, when that wasn't the case before the Liberals decided to hit China with EV tariffs. We ended up worse off than before the Liberal tariffs were enacted. That's some of the genius Liberal economic policy that's put Canada on a steady path of decline.2 points

1. Yes, and fortunately for him people as numb as you voted him back into office so he can grift his way to another billion because of his position. Conflicts of interest....who cares we love Diaper Don! 2. The rest of the world is going down the road of clean energy and fools like you believe the dumbest SOB in history calls it fake news. Something tells me you won't be laughing much when China laps you in the world order soon enough. 3. Why do you always bring up Biden? He's been out of office for a year so just focus on the grifter you support. 4. No, his mandate was inflation and immigration and he's done little there has he.... 5. Your Trump Dick Sucker syndrome is embarrassing.... 6. The only pervert in this convo is your orange idol. Good thing he has teams kissing his fat *ss to cover up and redact files.1 point

The Dems' tireless dedication to law and order will not be deterred, right John? People WILL BE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE by the Dems, and bail will be set at $1,000. Then they will just let everyone out of jail again. Dang.1 point

If the roles were reversed you'd be spinning your wheels explaining why it is right and proper. Myself, on the other hand, wouldn't say much of anything about it, just like I didn't the last time it happened. 🙃1 point

Oh please. Jesus Christ could be the leader of the Conservatives and you would still vote for corruption, crime and suffering. Don't act like the leader has anything to do with anything, to you.1 point

Letter on Alberta website here: https://www.alberta.ca/system/files/Premier Smith Letter to Prime Minister Trudeau.pdf As this substack commenter put it: Danielle Smith's 2024 letter to Trudeau: Demanded Ottawa DOUBLE Alberta's immigration spots (20k+ annually) + 10k more for Ukrainians to fix 'critical labour shortages' and grow our economy. 2026 reality: Blames Trudeau's 'open-border disaster' for the exact influx straining services, announces Oct referendum to LIMIT immigration, restrict newcomer access to health/education/social supports. Set-up complete: Lobby for more when Big Oil and the Oligarchy needs workers, then scapegoat Ottawa and immigrants when the bill hits working families. UCP classic—top vs. bottom, not left vs. right. While we're divided, pockets get picked. Albertans: See the pattern? #AlbertaForward1 point

Hockey will likely always be more of a National sport in Canada than it ever could be in the U.S. Likely has something to do with the Canuck winter, 9 months of winter and 3 months of poor skating. Ditto curling and ................................................ curling, etc.1 point

Nope, that's why I voted Khmer Orange. l actually helped prevent Carney from winning a majority. You're welcome btw. But of course, now that Conservatives are crossing the floor to give him the majority he craves, you blame the left. 🤣1 point

Bullshit. This ain't no Trump supporter: "Martin was from central North Carolina, where guns and hunting are a part of life, his cousin said. But whenever they’d go hunting or target shooting, Martin would never pick up a gun, Fields told The Associated Press on Sunday. .... Martin last year started a business to sell pen drawings he made, according to state records. A website matching the company name features illustrations of golf courses, buildings and ancient Roman architecture." Conservatives don't tend to shy away from guns and sell drawings on the internet.1 point

In December of 2003, 80-something MPs crossed the floor from the Canadian Alliance and Progressive Conservative Party to the Conservative Party of Canada. I’m still clutching my pearls about why we didn’t have 80+ by-elections None of the people in any of those ridings voted for the CPC.1 point

Nobody will as long as the Liberals keep terrible restrictions, like tanker bans in place. Nobody can export oil from the west coast, so no pipeline will ever be privately built until these barriers are eliminated.1 point

Ok...level set. The Canadian hockey teams both played great. IMO...nobody should be too dejected. I thought the refereeing was a tad...lop-sided. But that mens' final was a fantastic hockey game. Hellabuck "stood on his head" as they say. He has a habit of coming up big...and he did in the gold meddle game. He's an awesome goalie...usually. So congratulations to the Yankees. Your team and goalkeeper fended off an onslaught and got the one goal that counted...the last one.1 point

Again, what has changed? He's the same guy he was a year ago. If you think these MPs crossed the floor because of their conscience and deep care for their constituents you're naive.1 point

Just a reminder, all those problems created over the last 11 years were brought to us by the liberal government, the same government that created those problems have the original plans and most of the master minds that created them, it should not be that hard to reverse engineering them and find a solution. Given that the conservatives have already come up with some of them.... And while the people are not expecting total solutions in one year, we are looking for some results, and all we have seen is the creation of more red tape and employment opportunities for more bankers.. Canadians on the right are tired of liberal lies, and fake promises...what they are looking for is leadership any kind of leadership would be great. No, he was touted as better than sliced bread, which we agree is pretty damn good, but so far all we have seen or all he has delivered is burnt toast...and his shelve life depends on liberal voters, the same ones that have delivered us into this place we sit right now....if liberals can not deliver on their promises maybe it is time for them to step aside...1 point

Lying fools you all the time, Your left-wing source is rely on it If lying didn't fool anyone you'd be a conservative As to me, everything I said is true which is why you couldn't refute any of it and instead broke down in tears and fell back to cheesy insults The sad thing is why you lie to everyone else and while all your friends lie to you, your biggest lies are always to yourself1 point

Yeah I've been following that one a bit. The sad fact of the matter is it flew under the radar because it's just not that uncommon. This isn't even the only story like that, there are several that are similar and the truth is currently we are allowing violent repeat offenders back out into our society on a regular basis often the day they are arrested. This one has gained some recent attention because of the video you mentioned but honestly there's nothing unique about it. This is every day in our current liberal world ld1 point
