They set up a "checkpoint" under the assumption that they have the legal or moral authority to override government officials performing duties enforcing properly enacted laws that are supported by the majority of voters. They are terrorists, attempting to force their political beliefs through intimidation.2 points

With all the grade 5 TDS flag burning degenerates screaming about ICE, it's easy for political weaklings to cave in and accept the propaganda. This thread is to remind us all what ICE is here for. Immigration and Customs Enforcement DHS's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) duties are carried out through more than 400 federal statutes and focus on smart immigration enforcement, humane detention, preventing terrorism, and combating the illegal movement of people and goods. https://www.ice.gov/2 points

Riiiiight. Describe for us how they do that, John. I can describe three ways that the Dems and their rioters put children in harm's way: They are letting rapists and pedophiles and murderers go free. Not a lot of other people do that, just FYI. instead of notifying ICA agents that they are about to release illegals immigrants who are pedophiles, wife-beaters, rapists and murderers, so that ICE can come and apprehend them while they are just waiting in a cell and unarmed, the Demis let all of those violent felons go. That means that ICE agents who need to apprehend them now have to go into homes or places of work to arrest them, where the fugitives can be armed, they can be surrounded by gang members, and in any of those scenarios there could be children present the Demis are bringing their children to violent riots where things are being thrown at agents, and where agents will likely have to use tear gas to keep control. And tear gas has been used there on multiple occasions. So: the people bringing those children there know that 1) crimes will committed there, and that means that 2) the likelihood of teargas being used is very high. IT IS A CONSCIOUS DECISION FOR THOSE PEOPLE TO BRING THEIR CHILDREN THERE, WHERE THEY WILL BE LIKELY EXPOSED TO TEAR GAS. I can also describe ways that ICE agents are keeping women and children safe: they are arresting pedophiles that the Dems have released back into the community to harm innocent civilians they are arresting rapists that the Dems have released back into the community to harm innocent civilians they are arresting wife beaters that the Dems have released back into the community to harm innocent civilians Now that I have accurately described several ways that ICE is keeping women and children safe, and how the Dems are putting children in harm's way, it's time for you to describe for us even one way that ICE agents are "putting women and children in harms way"? Don't whine about your assignment, B, you're the one who said that they are doing it, so tell us then. How are they doing it? You ran your mouth and made the accusation, but you never showed us any proof of it.2 points

Two big Department of National Defence (DND)news stories in 24 hours finally persuaded me to start a thread on the topic. Hopefully the former CAF members on this forum and others with interest/curiosity in the subject will share, ask questions and and contribute! News Story 1: Yesterday DND signed a $3.6Bn contract with Airbus to acquire a fleet of Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft which are based on the state of the art Airbus A330 wide-body airliner. The MRTT will replace the current aged fleet of 5 CC-150 Polaris aircraft, which are based on the now-obsolete 1980s-era Airbus A310 wide-body airliner. While the pending deal had been public knowledge for quite some time, the surprise yesterday was that Canada will procure 9 aircraft rather than the previously mentioned 6 aircraft, a 50% surprise increase attributed to Canada’s recently renewed commitment to NATO. Also announced yesterday was that the RCAF has officially named the new MRTT the CC-330 Husky. The Airbus MRTT is already in service with a number of countries and NATO allies including UK, Australia, France and Spain among others. The Husky and its Polaris predecessor are used in various configurations for transporting personnel, cargo (or various combinations of both),and VIP transport of the Prime Minister, the Royal Family and other senior government officials. In addition, the aircraft are used to air-to-air refuelling of Canadian and allied fighter aircraft. As the A330 is a significantly larger aircraft, it will have 50% more capacity than the current fleet. In addition to being newer technology, the entire Husky fleet will be capable of air-air refuelling compared to just 2 of the existing legacy Polaris fleet that have a tanker configuration. The Polaris is also not capable of refuelling F-35s or other aircraft that only use a “refuelling boom” system. The Husky will also bring a new capability in the form of a MEDEVAC configuration where the aircraft is equipped with a medical bay and 24 medical personnel capable of treating 10 patients on stretchers (including 2 critical care patients) plus 6 ambulatory patients. One of the 9 aircraft will be dedicated to VIP transport and have a separate paint scheme accordingly but apparently can be reconfigured to other roles if needed. Of the 9 MRTT aircraft to be supplied by Airbus, the contract stipulates that 4 will be factory new and the other 5 are mint condition ex-Kuwaiti Airlines commercial A330s already acquired by RCAF that will be converted to MRTTs by Airbus. The ex-commercial A330s are expected to enter RCAF service this year for personnel/VIP transport in their existing unmodified “commercial passenger” configuration. All 9 aircraft are expected to be operational in full MRTT configuration by 20271 point

This week is not going well for the hapless left. First, they "shutdown" the government. Only problem was, no one noticed. The government was shutdown for three days and virtually no one knew. The news spent precious little time on it. They ended up voting for a spending bill that got them almost nothing they asked for and zero credit for anything they did get. Then Harry Enton took a huge left wing issue and torpedoes it: CNN’s Harry Enten Torpedoes Schumer’s Claim Voter ID Is ‘Jim Crow’ Legislation: ‘The American People Are With Nicki Minaj!’ 81% support voter ID legislation. 75% of blacks support it. Voter ID is about to become law. Opposing it will just show the world who is guilty of fraud. The VAST majority of Americans want voter ID laws. VAST MAJORITY. Those that don't want it? Why? Because they benefit from it. They want voter fraud. They NEED voter fraud. Democrats lose the budget battle. Democrats lose the voter ID battle.1 point

No it did not....they bailed and the feds took over. "The Canadian federal government (feds) took over the Trans Mountain pipeline and the expansion project in 2018 to ensure the project was completed in the national interest after the original private owner, Kinder Morgan, halted construction due to legal challenge" "Kinder Morgan suspended all non-essential spending on the project in April 2018 due to investor uncertainty, primarily stemming from opposition by the British Columbia government. The federal government stepped in to "de-risk" the project and guarantee its completion."1 point

Really dumb take. Nobody "benefits" from voter impersonation fraud because it is virtually nonexistent--and certainly irrelevant to outcomes. Factually, it's not a problem, so what is this law really trying to accomplish? Excluding more voters.1 point

And did it fairly well. But more importantly, if you spend decades telling everyone else that you are responsible for all their ills, that it is your cruelty, your racism, your intolerance, your oppression that has caused all of their problems, a lot of them are going to believe you. And then they're going to resent you and despise you. We've been telling the indigenous that we're responsible for all kinds of horrible things over the years, endlessly apologizing, and showering them with money. And they dislike us a lot more than they did ten or twenty years ago. They're more bitter, more angry, more resentful than they were before. So goes the rest of the world. You can't point to a single thing I wrote that is untrue. It just makes you angry that I wrote it.1 point

It's like when you put a frog in cold water and turn up the heat and it stays there until it dies. If the Dems were just starting out as a political party, and were inciting riots and letting rapists and murderers out of jail in their first year, and forcing young people to take a dangerous jab that they didn't need, their frogs would instantly jump out of that hot water, but they've just been getting steadily worse and worse for decades, and their media cult has been getting more and more polarized this whole time, to the point where the MSM has completely abandoned journalism and become a hard-core propaganda machine. There is nothing democratic about the Demis. Not one thing. They're deplorable, vile, heinous, wicked, and have no redeeming qualities. The idea of western separation is awesome, but joining the US and ending up under Dem control would be an "out of the frying pan..." experience.1 point

The problem is traditionally the left isn't huge on hatred. They can get worked up and they can get very organized but usually it's kept with in control. However starting approximately 2011 they started to get away with murder. Destructive protest, cancel culture, all of these things slowly became more and more real and nobody stopped them. Pretty soon we saw the formation of groups within the left that are professionally outraged. We started talking about social justice warriors who we're driven by anger and hatred to an irrational level That continued to grow until we saw things like the Floyd riots with billions of dollars in damage, and taking over entire sections of cities in the northwest and turning them into little commietowns. And still nobody sent in the national guard Now these groups Eat breathe and sleep hatred and bigotry to an irrational level and their leaders are not interested in resolutions but rather simply chaos and destruction. And they've run into somebody who just won't take their crap. So now the irresistible force has met an immovable object and it's kind of spiraling a little I honestly do believe in the right to protest even though I'm not a big fan of protests, but I think that both Canada and America really need to sit down and come up with a legal definition of protest that is a little more sane. When you're interfering with a cop it's not a protest. When you're harassing politicians and surrounding them and screaming at them and behaving in a threatening manner that's not a protest. If you're pulling down statues or damaging property or burning things that's not a protest.1 point

I personally don’t support gender reassignment surgery for minors but the fact here is that prominent supporters of youth gender reassignment still supported this lawsuit. It was an accusation of medical malpractice in the case of this one individual not a case against reassignment surgery for minors.1 point

Summer 2015. Greece is being crushed. The media says Greeks are lazy, corrupt, living beyond their means. But behind the scenes, Epstein and Chomsky are exchanging the real analysis. Chomsky: "About 90% of the payments to Greece actually go to the German and French banks who made risky investments and want to be paid off. So in effect Greeks are paying the northern banks for debts that the people never incurred." Greece wasn't bailed out. The money flowed through Athens straight to Frankfurt and Paris. The Greek people were left holding the debt. The banks got made whole and the people got austerity. They created a "fake" economic crisis to save French & German banks. This is what happens when you have bankers and technocrats running a country. They do what's in THEIR best interests, not the citizens.1 point

you don't have any, so you won't? In the Dark Basement Universe you inhabit, rules of logic and reasoning work backwards. Instead of proving your claim by posting your proof, you've decided it's more effective to just keep insisting on your claim ad nauseum and explain all of the reasons why you won't provide proof. Brilliant. 👌 Other than trespassing and not leaving when he was asked? Probably not. A Minnesota and then a Federal Appeals judge both refused to sign the requested warrants, which is a better indiciation of the strength of the charges than the rubber-stamping of a Grand Jury indictment. When we see some evidence that Don Lemon was harrassing and intimidating worshippers at the church, maybe I'll re-evaluate. Being there with his producer/camera man doesn't qualify, nor does standing somewhere inconvenient. Somewhere, eventually, you must realize that "YOU JUST HATE TRUMP" isn't an actual argument. People's dislike of the man don't magically negate criticism against him.1 point

You don't have to go far in history to see what Islamists are capable of. Just last month when Iranians came out on streets asking for removal of Islamists from power and a non-islamic state in their millions, they (islamic clergy, islamists leaders) order a massacre of unarmed civilians. If you bring in or inject cancer cells to your body, it will spread and kill the entire body.1 point

Did he actually say that, or is that what you've invented in your head and will never be able to cite, as usual? Regardless, a grand jury indictment doesn't count for much of anything. The old joke in legal circles is that you can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich in the US. These are junk charges and follow a long and storied history of Trumpian legal frivolity. The case will likely flop and get dismissed, or at best fail. The whole intention here is to make it expensive and potentially dangerous to criticize the Great Orange Baboon.1 point

Story2: Cabinet shuffle sees Bill Blair replace Anita Anand as Minister of National Defence, Anand moves to President of Treasury Board The move surprised some political observers as Anand was widely regarded as one of the more capable Ministers and managers unafraid to tackle tricky/controversial issues. However analysts have noted 2 key elements: First Treasury Board Pres is the holder of the public purse and considered an “economic” position. When looking at the other “highly regarded” Ministers they are all now concentrated in these economic positions therefore some tough/controversial financial decisions such as large spending cuts may be in the works. Second: Anand’s replacement is Bill Blair, the former Toronto Chief of Police whose heavy-handed police tactics at the time were cheered by conservatives and criticized by the left. and who later became Minister of Public Safety and Canada’s counter-terrorism Czar. This could be a sign that Canada will be pursuing a more aggressive Defence policy and possibly will not be subject to any aforementioned controversial budget cuts.1 point
