  1. or in the case of many on this board...you can be non-religious and not understand science.

  7. Yes Herb... good job, you caught them It has nothing to do with operational range, payload capacity, multirole capabilities, wanting more stealth / better interoperability with the US, or the demands of Canadian geography. 8. NO, the USA doesn't pick fights without cause. Regardless of what you think, many of our allies are directly involved and supportive behind the scenes, even if it's not their military doing the actual dirty work, or their politicians running to the cameras. Can you point out all of these peaceful countries that the US has attacked? People like you get to sit back and enjoy your material possessions while mocking the very forces that help provide them to you. It is a petty and lazy argument. You should be thanking the US and its allies for aggressively protecting the shipping lanes that help provide you with comfort & possessions. South China Sea Somalia coast. 9. LMAO! How? As evidence and facts in the hope people would buy into the desire to invade Iraq. It was like taking candy from a baby. What makes religion so dangerous is that its made the willful suspension of disbelief respectable amongst millions if not billions of human beings.

  10. Could be you're just fundamentally flawed. In any case science is a method - it definitely isn't a religion.

  11. That doesn't stop you or Christianity from mixing supernatural beliefs with reality...parting the Red Sea...fishes and loaves...rising from the dead...miracles... Christianity does this all the time. Your religion in particular insists on having its cake and eating it too and you yourself routinely use the Bible to debunk the science upholding evolution and cosmology. Its odd that hypocrisy wasn't amongst the Ten Commandments.

  15. Negative. Christians believe the Bible to be the word of God. It was divinely inspired. This is only talking about Christianity, anyhow, not religion in general. Well, now you are going from making an argument about how the Bible can't be taken at its word because it was written by man to making an argument about the translations to English. Either way, this was my point, that there are varying beliefs on creation here. Well... sure, but if God created Adam and Eve... were they not adults? Yes. So, they would have been created to look at a certain age, which the same could be said of the Universe as well. Either way, now we are getting into the weeds on how to reconcile a literal creation with scientific explanations of the Universe. Sure. That was my point, that people believe different things. Maybe... but he was simply pointing out how you were wrong.

  16. Of course it was. It was childish and stupid, and you couldn't have shouted to the world "Oh my God I'm wrong but I'm too emotionally immature to cope with it" If you would tried. So @User made fun of you. Played your own game and immediately you realized how stupid it sounded when I was thrown back in your face I'm sure you were kind of logic really wins them over in whatever Elementary School you were still attending but here in the adult world it just makes you look like a complete twat. Be smarter than the twat. Both a petroleum gas tank and a battery are forms of storing electricity. Both will need a chemical process to occur to extract the energy but that's not really relevant. The point is we can store massively more energy in a gas can then we can in a similar size battery and with a fraction of the cost and a fraction of the weight. And we can convert that potential energy into electricity much easier and faster That's the simple truth. The rest of your nonsense is just you wetting yourself because you can't cope with a simple facts But we can store electricity as efficiently and cost-effectively as we store petroleum products then we can replace petroleum. Now go and change your diaper, and stop embarrassing yourself like that. I know for a fact you're not that dumb

  17. According to Statista, 6% of the world's population uses illicit drugs and substances. In China, it's only .08% of the population. But they don't screw around either. Get caught trafficking more than 50g of heroin, methamphetamines, or cocaine, and you're left facing life imprisonment or the death penalty. Drug users are forced into compulsory isolation where they are detained and treated. It seems if there's a will there's a way.

  18. No, you added "often" in there now, not originally, and it still isn't true. Beyond the origins of everything, and even then, there is not much conflict, depending only on what some believe regarding creation, because not everyone believes the same thing.

  21. Eyeball hopes "science" opposes Christian beliefs, but that's because he doesn't understand the Bible or real science. The two are totally different. Science is about observing how things work in this world while the Bible is about spiritual matters. You can't mix the two or try to use science to debunk the Bible because they are totally different.

  22. This was my problem. I couldn't learn to shoot. The only gun range around only allowed dinner plate-sized targets at 20 yards. And you had to use their crappy 22 handguns until you could pass a test for accuracy with them; you couldn't use any other kind of 22. And then you could try their crappy 9mm, and if you passed an accuracy test, you could then bring in your own. Every shooting stall had a little scope attached to the side so you could check downrange to see where your bullets landed. But you can't learn to shoot that way. You need to see where they land WHEN you fire so you can correct yourself on the next shot and the next. Same as learning how to shoot darts. My eyes not being those of an eagle, it was all kind of frustrating and dissatisfying. Maybe what I ought to do is like Bill Burr in his famous comedy routine where he goes to a gun shop to buy a gun. The gun dealer tries to dissuade him from buying a handgun because he won't be able to hit anything without a lot of practice. He tells him to just buy a shotgun. "You got a problem over here and BAM, no more problem." The main reason people want to reconsider using the F-35 is fears of American control and their alleged ability to 'turn off' things in the aircraft.

  23. As a Nation, Canada was never united - spare me Vimy Ridge, War of 1812, Fenian Raids and of course the French Indian wars - arguably all British history - British troops - peace negotiations? Canada has a Head of State (King of Canada) that is seated thousands of miles away. The Constitution is a sacred cow in the fact that the elected officials dare not open discussion on any part of it lest the demands evoked destroy the country itself. Further - Canada has a Constitution that potentially cannot be enforced. Canada also has a province advocating separatism, governed by an administration that promotes it thru LEGISLATION and federal governments locked in irons for fear of losing the french ballot. This same provincial separatist government has a federal wing that sits in parliament and has the potential of determining NATIONAL policy decisions. I chuckle when I think that a separatist party has the potential to become the official opposition. But let us look at American history, specifically Manifest Destiny and more recently the Monroe Doctrine (Venezuela) . The Declaration of Independence, War of 1812, Louisiana Purchase, Civil War, Alaska - panhandle, Florida, Oregon, Spanish American War, Mexican American War. Those that say Americans and Canadians are the same should put down the bong - our history is completely different - we are (or were) far more British and Great Britain was our Aegis in the World. Until the repatriation of the British North America act, GB determined to a large degree Canada's sovereignty. Examine the Boer War (both), WWI, WWII - we were labelled colonials, mother GB called and Canada responded - Quebec notwithstanding - that said, conscription almost destroyed the country. The likelihood of Canada breaking up is indeed a possibility - the problem for us is the changes that Trump is introducing are generational - for those that are interested it might be worth your while to examine Project 2025. The genius of that is basically destroying the Executive guard rails by restructuring the Civil Service (mass firing / rehiring) to create a legacy that will endure beyond Trump. Need I add that 'rule the Courts, rule the land'?

You can disagree it is your right, touring a few battlefield does not give you more knowledge and experience than the Admiral of the navy.... but i have spent years reading books about flight, lived next to an airport, flown in an airplane and i know this is hard to believe i still can not fly with a damn....i've tried and tried, despite my neighbors laughing at my attempts of running and flapping my arms... 30. Well it i would say, NATO has been cashing in their peace bonds pretty hard, and are struggling with out of date equipment, lack of any serious numbers of equipment or soldiers.....Take a look at our military....it's infra structure on average is 50 years old....in some cases it has been condemn and people are still using it...we have a huge lack of housing , and some of it does not have drinkable water, or working toilets...Equipment wise most of it is over 40 years old....and is on the verge of being obsolete....Lack of funding effects funds for training, ammo, ...Capabilities , we have lost dozens of Capabilities, as we have not replaced them or retired that capability because we could not afford them.... we lack any credible ground air defense capabilities, very little on Shorad, nothing on medium range or high alt, no tracked SPA, No tracked IFV, No attack helos, NO recce drones, and very little long range drones, Our maritime mine warfare ships are retiring no replacement in the pipeline, no under sea infra structure ship, one operational sub ( west Edmonton mall has 4) the list goes on for pages.. I'm sure if anyone did some research we would find a very long list of stuff we need yesterday....And really how confident are you we will even reach 5 %....took decades to meet 2 %.....it is not realistic even PP has said 5 % is just to much....I have zero confidence that we will even come close to that amount, to be honest it would not surprise me if we dropped below 2 % again...

  32. That tape doesn't exist. The tape you are referring to is the tape where Trump said to find the votes. You can't find something that doesn't exist. Also, he never threatened reprecussions. You know that... somewhere...very very deep down. You know there was nothing wrong with that phone call. If you didn't, you wouldn't be attempting this false bravado. Here is how the conversation actually went: ********** Trump:But in Fulton, where they dumped ballots, you will find that you have many that aren’t even signed and you have many that are forgeries. OK, you know that. You know that. You have no doubt about that. And you will find you will be at 11,779 within minutes, because Fulton County is totally corrupt and so is she, totally corrupt. .... So look. All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have because we won the state. Germany: Mr President, this is Ryan. We’re looking into every one of those things that you mentioned. Trump: Good. But if you find it you’ve got to say it, Ryan. Trump: Well, you better check the ballots because they are shredding ballots, Ryan. I’m just telling you, Ryan. They’re shredding ballots. And you should look at that very carefully. Because that’s so illegal. Hilbert: Mr. President and Cleta, this is Kurt Hilbert, if I might interject for a moment. Um Ryan, I would like to suggest just four categories that have already been mentioned by the president that have actually hard numbers of 24,149 votes that were counted illegally. That in and of itself is sufficient to change the results or place the outcome in doubt. *********** The whole phone call was about how Fulton County was NOT checking signatures, despite the law requiring it, and ballot harvesting. No one was threatened. No one was told to invent ballots. You are repeating a lie that CNN debunked: https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/03/politics/trump-brad-raffensperger-phone-call-transcript

  33. So you have written off anything the air force has had to say on the topic...Why even have the military write up specs on what they want, or have them test it...that's all smoking mirrors...instead we have Herbies that know much better...The gripen has never placed more than third place in 3 competitions....and that was because 2 off the European aircraft dropped out....And the F-35 is running about 80 million a copy.... When it is your ass strapped into that aircraft, then i would stop and listen to what your opinion is....I get it it will never be your ass, but your daughter or son or grand kids may have to strap in, and well you can always pray we bought something that saved a few bucks...so they come back up right instead of a body bag.. if they can find enough left of them to bury that is...and if not for them, how about them just being Canadian...But we as a country have been brain washed into thinking most of the time it is cheaper to bury our soldiers than buy equipment that is modern and safer... Better to spend our dollars on social programs than give those that volunteer a chance at coming home....And then wonder why we can't get anyone to join....Because this nation has your back, buys the best equipment..... treats it's vets with respect or looks after them when they are broken... RIGHT....not really Cost estimates $80 million to $100 million: A general estimate that includes the F-35, though this doesn't account for the more recent, higher prices from newer deals. $85 million: An older estimate sometimes cited, which is lower than recent figures. $138 million to $146 million: Recent estimates, with a Thai deal indicating a price of approximately $138.25 million per jet. Peru is reportedly calculating a potential purchase at $145.8 million per aircraft.

  36. Dude it’s totally relevant. Look you thought gas plants ran on “cans of gasoline” when in fact they run on natural gas piped directly in to the plant by a gas main. And you proposed “storing cans of gasoline” as alternative to battery storage when it comes to delivering electricity during peak demand. As if you thought the problem was the gas plants run out of gas during peak times or something. You’ve just shown you have absolutely no clue WTF you’re talking about, and are ONCE AGAIN just randomly making stuff up and fumbling around blindly to try and make some kind of argument for argument’s sake. Furthermore gas power plants are not powered by “petroleum” or “liquified” natural gas. It’s just regular natural gas, non-liquified, and it comes through a pipe on-demand, not cans ergo it doesn’t need to be “stored” you’re just parroting terms you don’t understand. LOL no you have no clue what you’re talking about You’re floundering around for arguments and spouting gibberish Gridscale batteries are real, they exist, companies like Tesla and others make them and are investing in billions in them and you’re making up total bullshit pretending that you know more than all these experts Let’s recap: 1) energy is more expensive when generated at peak demand than if it’s generated at low demand. Ratepayers pay for this the electricity bill. Battery storage which is already a thing, allows producers to generate electricity when it’s cheap and not needed and batteries supply it to the grid when it’s in high demand expensive. Furthermore, ratepayers don’t necessarily pay much if any of the cost of this on their bill. 2) The alternative to battery storage is to meet growing peak demand by building excess gas plants for hundreds of millions just to run them for a few hours a day during peak times, making it extremely expensive per MW actually generated 3) when paired with wind and solar the energy those sources produce can be provided when it’s needed rather than when the sun is shining or the wind is blowing amd displce fossil fuels. I know as a climate skeptic this means nothing to you but the world doesn’t subscribe to your misconceptions. Listen you clearly don’t know any facts or have any understanding regarding this topic and you’re wandering all over the place making all kinds of nonsensical illogical arguments and citing bullshit. You just need to throw in the towel and for the hundredth time stop your bullshitting You don’t have to opine on every thread if you don’t know what you’re talking about, shameless bullshitting isn’t going to do you any favours.

All that the NEJoM ever did, right from the beginning of covid until the end, was pimp the pseudovax and ignore/discredit everything and everyone else. 40. No they don't. First off most of the studies that have been done including the most recent include government rebates on a number of the vehicles. So now that those rebate programs have ended those vehicle prices shoot up by 5 or $6,000 and that changes the results entirely Secondly they tend to only go out for 5 years. So they don't include replacing the batteries. The warranty. Is usually for 8 years or 100,000 km. So sometime after that you're going to have to replace the battery and suddenly you have a bill worth tens of thousands of dollars that isn't factored in. I have two trucks on my property that I've owned for years that are both older than 20 years. Both of them have engines that still run great and would drive around the city no problem, both are in pretty good condition one slightly better than the other. Both of them if they were EVS would have had to have their batteries replaced probably to the tune of about 40,000 to $50,000. Ontario man quoted $50,000 to replace an EV battery | Driving There are a large number of stories like this The studies are often done by people who are advocates for EBS and therefore they leave out calculations like that. So what the studies actually show is as long as there's government subsidies and as long as you only look at a very strict Length of time, EVS may be slightly cheaper but the reality is as near as we can tell they're actually more expensive when you do an Apples to Apples comparison over the life of a vehicle

  41. "Reportedly" lol. Stow it. Did I just hear that from a f'ing Trudeau supporter? 🤣 STOP! I'm gonna die laughing ffs. No doubt you support islam, a religion where marrying children is legal, with a prophet who married a young child himself...? Now ask me if I care about the fact that Prince Andrew might have had sex with a 17-yr-old, at a time when the age of consent was 14 in Canada? Do you even have proof that she was 17 at the time, or especially that he knew that she asn't older than that? What was he told? What did she say to him? You don't know, so shut your f'ing trap. FYI the age of consent in Canada is still just 16, and that's because Harper's conservative gov't fought to bump it up 2 years. Your precious NDP and LPOC would still have it at 14. Yes, because you have no proof that their loyalty to you was lacking. Sure, an oath can be terminated by the actions of the recipient though. Part of any oath of fealty is the implicit understanding that the loyalty goes both ways. So if the sovereign decides to kill you for no reason, you're obviously not duty bound to jump off a cliff just 'cuz they said so. The monarchy never inflicted covid fascism on us, forced kids to take a dangerous pseudovax that they didn't need, or beat peaceful protesters in the street, so I trust them more than I trust the dirtbags in the LPOC. King Charles is our actual sovereign, as per our constitution. LONG LIVE THE KING! Gimme a break, cougar. What were you saying and doing while our LPOC was forcing kids to take a jab which we KNEW to have both dangerous, permanent and even lethal side effects? Who can a person like yourself possibly ever look down on? Is a pedophile, rapist or murderer all that much worse than you? It's debatable.

  42. Most of the public servants I've dealt with work in the military structure some place they are unionized, and make good money, most of them are already aged out, a good number are ex military....those that are not are not physically fit...Walk into any CRA office or any other governmental dept, and take a good look around and see for yourselves....And most of them are going to be earning more than any military guy to begin with...next age and physically fitness levels it would be hard to find 400,000 k to meet even very reduced standards... It is not that they despise them, it has more to do with being unionized and using that at every opportunity, , having much different work habits and drive, having the same or better benefits, wages are not that far off...they are listened to by the government....while our military and vets are only thought about on Nov 11.

When he drops it, it will prove that Biden's admin went hunting for prosecutors and only found corrupt prosecutors to run their banana republic schemes.

  45. Well I don’t see how we get there from here in terms of the sheer scale, when we can’t even fill the empty positions we have. But in terms of everyone freaking out about recruiting from public service ranks, they’re a broad cross-section of society just like any other group, they’re not inherently less qualified or capable of being trained than any other civilians out there. IMO the conservative freak-out over this has more to do with the fact that they have been conditioned to despise public servants as human beings.
