Liberals are not good at governing. By their very nature they are high in openness. This trait is ideal for exploration and discovery not holding up the mantle of civilization. This is not a problem when conservatives are the pillar of society but when the roles are reversed it is disastrous. The liberalization of no fault divorce and sexual revolution has caused great harm to the family unit. We are still suffering from its effects to this day. Devoid of the restraint by religious transcendent responsibility, everything is morally relative. Complete chaos is the end results. The worse offenders are the narcissistic psychopaths who see power as the goal and not realized it is only a tool for good governance; to serve. I too was once a liberal, forced into conservatism because of the societal decay brought about by excessive liberalism.2 points

He's great at divorce though. I mean like really great. I think one of his ex-wives is buried on his golf course or something? There are only a few men who are capable of divorcing at that level.2 points

You're talking about Trump "not good at governing." He's not even very good at shit canning the government. No body voted for trashing cancer research, but he's set back our stellar cancer research by 50 years. 🤮 IOW, you're an lDIOT.2 points

I am for all this. ANTIFA is a terror group. Don't believe me? Has ANTIFA done this? Acts of dangerous to human life that violate the laws: Intimidate or coerce civilians? Affect the conduct of the government by mass destruction: My question would be, in what way are they not a terror organization? They use violence to intimidate people and disrupt the government in pursuit of a political goal. This should be a slam dunk.1 point

That simply isn't possible. Things would go from bad to worse if they did. You think raping young girls and burning them alive constitutes resistance, do you?1 point

LOL oh my god people have been trying to tell him that since before you even signed up to the board Best of luck He has some others that keep resurfacing from time to time like 'dunning kruger'. He'd use it as a noun, a verb, an adjective from time to time, occasionally an adverb and at least once as a conjunction and we're still trying to figure out how that works. If you can get him to stop misusing words he doesn't understand you'll get the nobel prize for twit management.1 point

You note the rise in domestic violence in Canada which without looking at stats I'm sure is similar in the US for a number of reasons, including covid, affordability, mental health, etc.... but justify Trump's comments as simple political posturing. Obviously your expectations of how a president should conduct themselves is different than most. Love is blind... And of course you'd bring Canada liberal policies into a simple thread about Trump talking about domestic violence... Whatever 😂1 point
-
This is a real weakness Trump has. I know that lefties would attack him no matter what he says, but he always puts things in such a way that leaves him open to attack. I know exactly what he meant, but he gives the left the soundbytes they want.1 point

This guy could walk down the street, kick an old lady to the ground to steal her purse and his loyal minions would find a way to justify as 'he was just looking for a mint'.... Thankfully I've had no exposure to domestic violence within my family or circle of friends, that I'm aware of. If anyone doesn't believe it's a social concern then they obviously don't read much. I mean hey, what's the big deal about a 'little fight with the wife'. Just another daily (hourly?) example of the lack of morals, decency and ineptness the US voted for and mindless minions idolize. Embarrassing is an understatement....1 point

Seems to me he was talking about "crime statistics" here. He was (IMO anyway) suggesting that how they are collected, compiled and released (in different jurisdictions) has an impact on the perceived efficacy of any policing effort. In terms of "domestic responses," how many of the total number of responses result in an actual arrest for an actual crime? Many are resolved on scene with a "be kind to each other and don't make us come back" salutation as members depart. When data collection methods are modified it's usually deliberate and it's usually intended to make a political point and the collection methods rarely receive the scrutiny they deserve. So, counting responses where no arrest is made as "crimes" tends to falsely skew statistics. My favourite example was the machinations surrounding "domestically sourced crime guns" in Canada. If it was truly a domestically sourced gun it was counted as such and that's fair enough. But in order to pad the numbers, untraceable guns which were clearly (and illegally) imported from the US and any other untraceable weapon from any source (ghost guns, 3d printed etc) were included in the "domestically sourced" numbers whether they were actually sourced in Canada or not. In addition, if a legally owned gun in Canada was present (but not involved) in an indictable offence on the premises, it was immediately deemed as a "domestically sourced crime gun" simply because it was there. So, If your neighbour punched your drunk uncle at the new years eve party and the police were called then POOF... your entire collection of guns were immediately deemed to be domestically sourced crime guns. That pushed the total up to about 84% (if memory serves)... it was deliberate, it was politically motivated,. and it was completely bogus. I'm not saying that's the case here... I don't actually know, based on the context though I think that's what he's getting at. The fact that you interpret it as him saying "beating your wife isn't a crime" doesn't ring true IMO.1 point

That doesn't get talked about a lot but questions coming at Trump around his UAE Chips deal so this guy obviously struck a nerve. A very presidential-like exchange though.... Trump's a huckster that has blatantly commercialized the presidency for profit. The NYT story says no proof of any wrong doing but casts suspicion on the timing. Not sure many people would be surprised either way.... Anatomy of Two Giant Deals: The U.A.E. Got Chips. The Trump Team Got Crypto Riches. A lucrative transaction involving the Trump family’s cryptocurrency firm and an agreement giving the Emiratis access to A.I. chips were connected in ways that have not been previously reported. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/15/us/politics/trump-uae-chips-witkoff-world-liberty.html1 point

Well of course. And people knew that which is why they were so negative about his economic policy and why he was so low in the polls If you talk about all the jobs you've added but people look around and there's no jobs to be had they figure it out. I think Mark Carney is going to realize the same thing shortly. You can make all the announcements you like but if people are still suffering on the ground they know it.1 point

The approval process had already taken place And they're trying to clean it up by creating a new bureaucracy. Instead of just getting rid of the rules that are the problem and tightening up the process to be effective but simple they've added a layer of complexity by including a new government office with bureaucrats to mire it even more red tape under the pretense of getting rid of red tape Enbridge and others have come right out and said they won't be doing business with this government and investment in Canada is going to be extremely low as a result.1 point

So far conservatives have been voting with Liberals in parliament because Carney doesn’t have a majority. Poilievre will vote to pass Carney’s budget soon too. Poilievre is the new Jagmeet LOL. Harper said Carney “gets it” and has been giving him advice, just a reversal of back in the day when Carney gave Harper advice and Harper awarded him the Order of Canada, our country’s highest honour. The spending is what is needed right now, we can afford it as we have by far the lowest net debt to GDP ratio in the G7 and low service ratios, which is why even Poilievre was also campaigning on running massive deficits. It never ceases to amaze me how some average people who are net beneficiaries of government spending can be so obsessed with ONE abstract metric that is not likely to ever affect them. It’s like worrying that truck a thousand miles away is driving too fast in your general direction1 point

So you have nothing to add? You could have spent that time finding evidence that the person who accused Trump of raping her when she was a child recanted her story. Imagine your glee if you were able to back up your defence of his paedophilia with actual evidence. But if being gay equals leftist, does bring a paedophile equal right-wing? 😆1 point
-
You said you had evidence but all you have is vague statements from a lying politician and a guy who claims he was his friend but may well be just a fame seeker (and who might just think leftism is the same as queerness, like you). Unless you present a manifesto saying he was trying to overthrow capitalism, there is no “reality” to deny. The only objective reality is he had all the hallmarks of a second amendment nut with extremist tendencies from being online too much. Those guys are typically far right conservatives.1 point
-
So all your evidence is the word of lying politicians who won’t back up their statements and a random guy who claims to be his best friend in the whole world. And, like you, none of them can define leftism beyond your idea that it might have something to do with being trans. So, given we know that he was an extremist Utah-resident gamer with a strong conservative background who wore alt-right Halloween costumes, and that there was a feud between Fuentes and Kirk, my point stands. There is no way you can be any more sure he’s a leftist than I can be he’s a groyper. But I’m more likely to be right.1 point
-
How else do you explain the fact that Poilievre is propping up the liberals in parliament and that Stephen Harper is one of Carney’s advisors? You just have Liberal Derangement Syndrome.1 point
-
I asked whether you have anything other than what lying far-right politicians have said with no further evidence. Trump said he’s left-wing too but it’s not like his word means anything. There are lots of right-wing gay people (and we don’t even know if that’s the case anyway), so that means nothing.1 point
