  1. The left is motivated by hate. You’re going to have to come to terms with that. It’s not about the oppressed, it’s about hate of the rich, hate of the successful. Hate of conservatives. Hate of God.

  5. Yes, you were clearly singing his praises, contrasting him to: "Zealots and fanatics in their non-stop circle jerks scared them all away....." Either way, your understanding of what a Conservative is, clearly, is based on absolute BS.

  7. Popped back in just for this thread--and it's exactly as expected. This is rather like when Rush Limbaugh died. Kirk was also a professional a$$hole. Like Limbaugh, he made a lot of money spreading lies, sowing hate and driving division. Objectively, the world will be better off without this cog in the hate machine. Still, his only "crime" was political speech, and political speech should never be answered with violence. Never. It's a tragic day, but the tragedy isn't the "loss" of Kirk, it's the ongoing erosion of civil discourse, displaced by the brutal expedience of force. Sadder still, the MAGA crowd won't recognize the irony of this deeply MAGA, "might makes right" moment. A movement headed by a bully who has caused and reveled in political violence has very little room to be outraged by political violence.

  8. Well the difference is that a boat is designed for boating. You're not going to ban or restrict every single object that you could bludgeon someone to death with. A gun, on the other hand, is a tool specifically designed to seriously injure and kill human beings (or other large animals). In Canada there's far fewer gun owners and far fewer shootings. In Japan there's virtually no gun ownership and virtually no shootings. So again, people in a democratic society can choose to live by the laws they wish, but "live by the sword, die by the sword" applies. If Americans are willing to accept the risks of relatively easy and widespread gun ownership that's their choice and they live with the consequences of those actions, good or bad.

  9. That is a fact. The majority of violence with guns is done with handguns.

  11. I was making the case that the AR is probably the one weapon in America that gives the 2nd amendment group the most teeth, and you're now telling me how lethal it is. Are you supporting me here, or what? That reminds me of the Ben Stiller movie with all the weird "superheroes". The one girl was a bowler whose father's death was declared to be an accident by the police. He "fell down an elevator shaft, onto some bullets."

  16. I write this not only to Americans...but to all people of The West and beyond. Today is 9/11. 24 years after the day. The anniversary of the day that changed...everything. People...we are standing at the precipice of Hell, looking down and ready to jump. The sheer hatred is at a feverish pitch. Its time to look in the mirror and ask yourselves... Is this reasonable? What exactly do I value? Do I value the society and culture of my home? Or do I hate it all and have a need to destroy it? Today...I pray to whatever Gawd cares to listen...that mankind decides to not take the plunge to Hell. That we join together in the spirit of commonality. Love Family Freedom Honor Respect And perhaps most of all... Compromise. We can't all be of the same ideologies. But for the sake of humanity...we must begin to work together for our common interests and return to a world of compromise in order to secure said common interests. For your loved ones...for your particular nation...for your own well being... I beg all of you today... Do not take that last step.

  17. The Cess Pool aka the other forum is still trying to justify his murder. They don't like "what he stood for", and apparently that means his murder is approved by them. They are truly sick individuals. I'm actually pretty astonished at their reaction, I didn't expect them to react this radically. They need professional help.

  20. Gabby Giffords was shot by a schizophrenic. It wasn't political. Please, no one knew who the hell those two Minnesotan politicians were. Charlie Kirk is one of the biggest Conservative targets spare Trump, Vance, that they could've gone after. He's been painted as a Nazi White Supremacist for years by the left like every other person they hate. Look at all celebrations online. This killer is a hero to them, just like Luigi. Charlie Kirk very well could've become President one day. You have no idea how big this was and how radicalizing it will be. There will be many tears to come.

  21. Can’t wait to see how Trump will use this as an excuse for his next dictator move. I see some on the right are now calling for the Democratic party to be classified as a terrorist organization and declaring this an act of civil war. But when we have republican nutjobs murder Democrats like we did in Minnesota earlier this year or when Gabby Giffords was shot or all the right wing terrorist attacks that have happened in recent years its “oh these things happen it’s a mental health issue not much can be done about it, let’s nmot discuss this anymore”

  22. No it doesn't. And that's not what the saying means. To live by the sword means to live a life of violence. You can believe someone has the right to own a gun and not be violent. That line comes from the Bible. Maybe you know this. When Jesus is arrested, Peter tries to defend him, and Jesus urges him not to, saying that those who live by the sword, die by the sword. But Jesus had spent the entire night with Peter and the disciples before he was arrested, and he was well aware that Peter had a sword and said nothing about it. In fact, it was Jesus who earlier recommended his disciples carry a sword.

  26. A Nanos poll for the Globe and Mail shows Canadian attitudes towards immigration hardening even as Carney continues to hold to his policy of steady, gradual increases. 60% also want foreign workers of whatever program reduced, but Carney says business wants it, and what business wants, business gets. Doug Ford wants more immigrants and foreign student-workers and more foreign workers too, and if you're a young Canadian who can't find a job, Doug has little sympathy "Look harder," he said today. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-canada-immigration-temporary-residents/

  31. Democrats through the constitution out the window when they burned down cities, killed CEOs, violently attempted to kick Jews out of universities, attacked ICE, tried to kill a SCOTUS judge, tried to kill Republicans playing baseball, tried to assasinate Trump, tried to make up crimes to prosecute Trump, allowed China to send fake IDs to use in voter fraud, allowed illegal aliens to vote, killed Charlie and the thousands upon thousands of violent acts that go unpublished every year. And it is one sided. Some try to bring up Gifford and the MN reps, but both those shooters were nut jobs, one even thought he was helping Tampon Tim run for senate. The violence is one sided. Left wing speakers and comics stand in front of their groups every day with minimal security if any at all. But conservatives have to have significant security and even then, they risk being killed. Look at all the pics of Charlie. He and his wife never put pics of their children facing the camera. Why? Because the left is nucking futs. But, I would not do extra constitutional acts to get it under control. I would, and most people that think like me would support, prosecuting threats and acts aggressively. That means finding every rioters at every "protest" and putting them on trial and putting everyone, that is guilty, in jail for the maximum allowed by law.

  32. What a lie. His challengers knew that he would be appearing. They knew what his talking points and arguments were. they had every single change to prepare and most of the subjects weren't rocket science. The fact is most of his 'challengers' cared more about ideology than logic or reason. So they assumed that all they had to do was shout their talking points, even if those taling points didn't make sense. And charlie would slaughter them because they were basing their opinons on feelings rather than facts and they learned the hard way that doesn't' work. In short, they were as dumbfounded as you are Robo

  35. BB: Thanks for opening the topic, but now I suggest you keep an open mind and dump all of the partisan BS where it belongs. To begin with you/we tend to refer to what we are discussing as "health care" when in fact it is something else very different: i.e. "sick care". The main flaw in our system is the money doesn't move until someone is ill or injured, and we literally "get what we pay for". I have spent decades in and around this topic and long ago came to these realizations. Another generalization you/we make is "capitalism" being to the "right" vs. anything on the left being labelled "socialist". In fact capitalism (use of capital to finance business) is a vital component within many genuine "left" countries (China topping the list) but we have developed 2 distinctly different kinds of capitalism: the classic legacy of private or public use of capital to fund business and create wealth and the "new normal" I call Casino Capitalism where the mechanisms are used to redistribute wealth by speculative gain. Finally: we are locked into a partisan battle driven by those who profit from either ideology by seeking power for the sole purpose of granting privilege to exploit the public purse or regulatory environment. We need to fix all of these things together as each one relates to or enables the other. Let's start with this sick care thing. You refer to thousands dying on waiting lists vs. some magic capitalist model where everyone gets immediate treatment and satisfaction. Clearly you have no idea what happens when you become ill or injured in the USA. You might want to remember that the wealthiest economy on the planet has miserable medical/health statistics vs. extremely high costs. When you leave the whole sick care system wide open to business participation you get costs DOUBLED due to the vast army of lawyers and insurers now under the casino rules to dig in deep to build large blocks with M&As to drive not just the equity valuations but moreso the skim from finance from handling the massive block of bux.. You don't seem to realize that in the US if you don't have exceptionally good sick care insurance you won't die on the waiting list, you are more likely not to even GET on the list. Then look at the huge revenue stream of big pharma and you quickly find another huge problem with honesty, medical effectiveness and cost. Note that most Americans below "middle class" and especially in small business can't wait to turn 65. Why? Because they for the first time in their life could get medical costs covered by government and not dispensed and wildly inflated by sick care insurers. Solutions? First we need to think about who benefits from what function. EVERYONE wins from health care, and for that reason should be a government provided social service to educate, inform and monitor its population. This is one of the keys to getting the load of the sick care system created by lack of health care and exploitation by pharma, insurers and lawyers. The next big deal is insurance. Private insurance has become a major player in the world of finance and has demonstrated endlessly it will do anything and everything that benefits their business at the expense of the victims ("customers" - yeah, give me a break). Sick care insurance should in my carefully considered opinion be provided by a government organization or contractor under direct government administration and control. Where government is especially bad at providing service delivery this points to where the private sector needs to be unblocked from delivering medical service in a free and open, competitive market. No reason a salaried government practitioner couldn't co-exist with private clinicians. No excuses IMHO should prevent the private sector offering a wait-in-line vs. walk-tp-the front pricing option. Just important that a private insurer has no possibility of profiting from the payment/funding of a social service. Another thing that increases costs dramatically in the USA and crosses the border into our back pockets (mostly due to medical insurance premiums) is the LLL (Legal Liabillty Lottery) where about half of US sick care cost come directly or indirectly (due to liability related completely superfluous treatment and assessment costs). I will take this one step further and state that I believe any and all legal advocacy should be a social service, not a fee for service function. Big Pharma has also shown how incredibly greedy they can become when they are owned and operated by Casino Capitalists instead of legitimate businessmen. Even more important - again IMHO - is to realize that the whole business of partisanship is what provides the mechanism to grant privilege to exploit. We spend all of our time arguing left vs. right when the back rooms are busy handing out contracts and writing legislation and regulation to allow the problems we are discussing to develop into the mess we have today.

  38. I think it's really unfair to compare USA and Canada when it comes to things like this. Canada is a much larger land mass with way fewer people. Canada is like a small town compared to the US. It's like comparing Mayberry to Detroit. And even so, now we see crime rapidly getting worse in Canada.
