Calling yourself a "conservative" is funny. Good one! I literally just told you I couldn't, but I understand why it didn't register in your brain. Without framing the debate as an existential battle of good ("conservatives") vs evil (lefties), your emotional venting looks pretty silly!3 points

Yet again we see the limp Canadian legal system in action. "Sure. Come on in. What? You shot an innocent girl? Oh never mind. We wear empathy like a scouts badge. You may go free now." Idi0ts...3 points

In the past we have had a problem with chinese using Canada as a conduit to get steel into the US past tariffs Since 2024 and even slightly earlier there's been a major effort to try and address that. One of the main reasons that trump insisted that we put a tariff on the Chinese steel that's similar to his own which we just did is to prevent the Chinese being able to sell the steel to Canada tariff free and then move it into the states, although I see carney is trying to spin it as somehow protecting Canada. The other scam is to have Canadian companies buy and use the cheaper chinese steel and sell "canadian" steel to the us instead although often the chinese steel is mixed in with the Canadian steel shipments China does not export a lot of steel or aluminum directly to the United States. A succession of presidents and Commerce Department rulings have already imposed many tariffs on steel from China. Tariffs have also gone up lately on Chinese aluminum. Just last September, President Joseph R. Biden Jr. raised existing tariffs on many Chinese steel and aluminum products by up to 25 percent. Yet lately, China’s steel and aluminum exports are on the rise because its economy is struggling, sapping domestic demand. Many of these low-cost exports have gone to American allies like Canada and Mexico, which in turn export significant shares of their own more expensive output to the United States. China Is at Heart of Trump Tariffs on Steel and Aluminum - The New York Times "Yes, there are concerns about China using Canada as a transshipment point to bypass U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminum. " china transship steel to us through canada - Google Search Yes, there is evidence that China transships steel to the US through Canada, and both countries have taken steps to prevent this. The issue is specifically mentioned in agreements between the two nations, particularly regarding preventing the importation of steel unfairly subsidized or sold at dumped prices and preventing transshipment. does china transship steel to usa through canada - Google Search2 points

You mean because he's worked for the government all his life? So being a teacher wouldn't be a real job? orrrr,,,, being a pilot for the military? Almost weekly you find a new and exciting way to prove that you've been lying you're through your teeth about ever having served in the military or been outside of your mom's basement. When you grow up you'll learn more about real jobs. In the meantime carney is still funneling double the amount of money Trudeau was into third party contracts, most of which are single source, and will enjoy your comfy retirement on taxpayer dollars. And you seem to be fine with that What are you even talking about, who mentioned Erin O'Toole? The voices in your head are working overtime2 points

Prideful Canadian should just get out of the way. The American plan is reshaping the next century and all Canada does is wasting time that you don’t have. We need time to automate and reindustrialize, we need time to retool the next generation youth for a robotic future while taking care of our elderly, we need time to bring about the AI transformation that Canada can be a part of. No, you’re all letting your own ego get in the way because you don’t want to listen to the American when they’re trying to offer you something new and better. Complete this century long integration into America. Be American. In 10 years you won’t even be able to pay for your hospital, schools and housing. You’re destroying your own children’s future all because you think orange man bad.2 points

Carney inherited a fiscal mess from Trudeau, and he is set to make it worse - The Globe and Mail long story short, our books were in a mess and our country in trouble when carney took over, and he is on path to do even more damage than Trudeau did by overspending. This is from the globe and mail, a source that is traditionally very friendly to the liberals and tends to look badly on conservatives. They're not afraid to take the odd poke at the liberals but for them to just come out and say this is unusual. I've noticed that the media is beginning to turn a little bit on Carney. That generally means that public opinion is beginning to twist and they are picking up on it. That can take a short while to show up in the actual polling, but I think in September when we start paying attention to politics again mr Carney may not like his report card. He will have to do some fancy dancing in the fall session or he's going to start to slip1 point

The United State's soft power is fully operational with the adoption of the USMCA. Mexico and Canada are remnants of the old 19th century colonial system. Both the Spanish and British empire are no longer around yet their vestigial remnant still linger like Canada and Mexico. The U.S have fought several wars with the Spanish empire well into the 20th century even conquering the Philippines and turning it into a pseudo colony of the American. History gave America a fortuitous opportunity with World War 2 where both empire were completely devastated by the war and sought to withdraw from their colonial holdings giving up some territory to the US. America stepped in to put the nail in the coffin by paying everyone to join the American lead Global Order. That order, I would argue is being morphed into something new, yet also familiar. I see the future expansion of the American empire down to South America and the North Arctic region. But when will full expansion to annexation take place? If demographic trend holds, America should have another opportunity in the 2050s when most of the region aged beyond obsolescent making it ripe for either conquest or barter. Both Mexico and Canada no longer have the strength to resist America.1 point

https://apnews.com/article/us-customs-border-patrol-ice-nyc-c618e269f5df614ef2e9ff09e5d07ee4 The officer, who was not in uniform, had been sitting with a woman in a park beneath the George Washington Bridge when two men approached on a moped just before midnight. The passenger got off and approached the officer, who realized he was being robbed and drew his service weapon, Tisch said. The two exchanged gunfire and the off-duty officer was shot in the face and arm. The perpetrator was injured before he and the moped driver rode off, police said. ----‐----------------‐---------- Open borders let this guy back in. The Democrats have been on the 20 side of 80/20 issues and now the polls show it. Let's start with Democrat support of Democrats. The Democrats are upside down in their own party. They are doing so poorly that their own party disproves of them. And probably for different reasons. The extreme left is mad they aren't communist/marxist enough and the normies are not happy with DEI, Trans kids, anti Semitism etc. The numbers get worse when you bring in the rest of the voting public: They are literally on the 20 side of the 80/20 issues. Given that X, TikTok and the rest of the world wide interwebbers have been railing about the Epstein files, you would think Trump is losing ground, especially among Republicans that care about the files. You'd be wrong: His numbers are rising. It turns out that when you secure the border, make tangible headway on peace in the middle east, secure new trade deals, pass sweeping budget changes, and root out waste fraud and abuse in under 6 months, people appreciate it. As such, at the 6 month mark, Trump is fairing better than either Bush or Obama at this point: Is there work to do? Of course. Was the first 6 months perfect? No. Despite that, people support the agenda and want to see more. This IS what they voted for.1 point

Every single Canadian who voted for Trudeau more than once is culpable in the mess we find ourselves in today. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I'll wait to judge Carney once Parliament is back in session and he starts passing a bunch of laws. Not even tabling a budget that is supposed to be voted on is disgusting, especially from a party led by a supposed hotshot economist.1 point

It's not an interviewer's job to 'bait' an interviewee unless they're a cheap, dishonest interviewer looking to score political points against the subject. Which pretty much describes all Canada's legacy media. The difference is Mamdani is running like Trudeau: "Vote ME and I'll steal a whole pile of money off those undeserving rich people and give it to YOOOOUUUU!" That's not a platform Poilievre can run on.1 point

I don't know about that. Even before carney and trump people have moved away from global warming and it still pulls very lowly on their top lists. The top lists other than trump are still the economy and affordability. And unfortunately it's almost impossible to talk about those without trump sticking his head into the picture I suspect if he doesn't have much of a deal by september when the house goes back he will definitely try to find something else to talk about. Before then because of that very reason. The absolute last thing he wants is to go into the fall and back to the house where every day he has to answer questions about our trade deal. He wants to do one now and then in the fall if someone asks he turns around and says we're past that yesterday's news we're not talking about that anymore. Unfortunately for him trump also refused to negotiate NAFTA early, Or whatever they're calling it now. Which means even if he manages to get trump off the table this fall, trump is back on the table next year and the whole mess will be back in his face again1 point

So funny that they talk about "Trudeau's fiscal mess" now but none of them could see it coming. Back in the day, everything that Trudeau said and did was dreamy, and it was what was best for all of Canada. They never saw any harm in anything that he ever did. Honestly, when our MSM talks about a "fiscal mess", it's a fiscal mess that they all waved pom-poms for at every stage of the last 11 years or so. Who are they to talk about whether or not Carney's economic plan is solid?1 point

No problem. But He didn't sit on their board of directors. He won't be working for them when he gets out of politics. He has no intimate knowledge of their workings or anything like that. I mean if you hound shares in apple I guess you could kind of think of things that might benefit Apple. But it's very different than being an Insider and knowing exactly what apples intentions were and exactly what assets it has Carney worked directly with these companies, and knows intimately what they were doing and how their futures were supposed to look. It's extremely easy for him to make decisions based on that that would help them without other people realizing how much it would help them I tell you what, no problem, get carney to sign that he will never ever be associated with these business again and will only hold them as investments and never work for them or serve on their board of directors and we'll get Poilievre to do the same. I Think you would find pretty quick that Poilievre would be fine with it but carney is not1 point
-
Just some facts "If Pierre Poilievre wants to attack Mark Carney over conflicts tied to 574 companies, then let us apply the same test to him, including past investments. Before the last election, Poilievre held foreign investments through funds like American Century and iShares MSCI, based in the United States, Singapore, and Switzerland. These types of funds typically include 500 to 2,000 companies each. He sold them before the election and now says he brought the money home to Canada. Today he owns two Canadian Vanguard ETFs: VCE, the FTSE Canada Index ETF with 50 large-cap Canadian companies, and VCN, the FTSE Canada All Cap Index ETF with over 100 to 250 Canadian companies. Those include major firms like Royal Bank, Shopify, TD, Enbridge, and Brookfield. He also holds Bitcoin through the Purpose Bitcoin ETF and owns more than eight thousand dollars in Bitcoin personally. He and his wife own rental properties in Calgary and Ottawa. Using his logic that exposure to a company equals conflict, Poilievre has likely been tied to well over a thousand companies across past foreign funds and current domestic ETFs. Yet he has not divested these holdings, and he has not placed them into a truly blind trust, unlike what he demands of Carney. If he truly believes that any financial exposure creates a conflict, then he should sell off his holdings or place them in a blind trust that he cannot see or control. Canadians deserve consistent rules for everyone in public office, not one set for his opponents and another set for Poilievre. If he will not apply his own standard to himself, then his attacks on Carney are nothing but political theatre." J Cotter1 point

https://www.merriam-webster.com/grammar/difference-between-fascism-and-socialism "Fascism is characterized by extreme nationalism; enforces strict social, economic, and often racial hierarchies; is corporatist and imperialist; supports autocratic control of the government (as by a dictator); promotes strict traditional gender roles and military values; and forcibly suppresses opposition. Fascist movements throughout history have also been typified by their opposition to Marxism, democracy, and political and cultural liberalism. Since the term socialism entered English around 1830, it has consistently referred to a system of egalitarian social organization in which private property (not to be confused with personal property) and the distribution of income are subject to social control." Not the same thing. The first sound like the US right now. There's no real socialist countries anymore. Maybe Cuba but probably not for much longer.1 point

Too late for that and you started it. Here's another example, there's millions of them, of a right winger blaming yet another one of all the world's ills on the left. It's funny how you come off sounding more like a racist than the people you accuse of being racist. But yeah, it's a pretty fùcked up world alright. And you haven't seen anything yet. Too bad you didn't listen to the left decades and decades ago when you were told we should curb the world's population growth. Why? To prevent the world from becoming so fùcked up! For what it's worth I could care less if this arsehole was shot, pissed on and buried in his own shit for his actions. But if you think for one minute I'm about to stand here and be given responsibility for them, all I can say is go pee up a rope. Twenty years ago I was saying we should be stopping every plane, train and automobile crossing our border to stop the flow of illegal guns from the US. I'm pretty sure you recall how lefties who said better gun control, starting with better border control were regarded. Just like lefties who said slowing population growth started with birth control. Anyway welcome to the fùcked up world you conservatives insisted on. How's it working out for you btw?1 point

You haven't addressed them even once and you refuse to. Lets keep this simple for you seeing as you've apparently only learned to debate to a 6 year old level. As i have abundantly proven carney has given away many concessions to please trump, and we have gotten nothing in return to date. People are saying he's looking weak and that's even from liberal supporters and media of other countries He has already admitted he will not be able to keep his promise of getting rid of trump tariffs. From the sounds of it supply management is going to be on the table too. Given his failure, what do you have to say about carney' as "the man who can handle trump' now, which is what he billed himself as during the election?1 point

You're defining 'anecdotal' evidence here. If it's a pervasive problem then a system response is needed.
