The highschool bully and your teacher have come to an agreement that he will stop beating the shit out of you and the teacher will stop punishing him if you will simply stop trying to fight back and hand over 25% to the bully and half of what's left to the teacher. Good deal, eh? BTW don't forget to tell your teacher 'Thank You'.5 points

Old school... Iraq won its war against Kuwait, then we liberated Kuwait. That was a precedent set by conservative leaders that we wouldn't stand for adventures from rogue states.4 points

Colonize with liberals . . . ? How can we help . . . ? Rocketships loaded with liberals and vegetables (vege's make you passive and stupid) Of course there would be huge tariffs on those rocketships, oh wait, a liberal has no money of their own, and no ambition to earn any . . . Yeah! f'koff to Mars, make Greta your queen . . .3 points

This is happening in the USA and all over the planet too. It's bad but not that bad...yet According to Google's AI overview... Canadian food bank usage reached a record high with more than 2 million visits in 2023 U.S. food banks were used over 50 million times in 2023. America is even more vulnerable and that's why Trump wants to raid us. The water hole is getting smaller and the animals are getting meaner.2 points

Look around this forum. Which one's? And what about the near universal narrative you apparently subscribe to that anyone who isn't a conservative is a Marxist commie globalist? It's PP's supporters that tie him to Trump. Sure there's lots of back peddling these days but not enough to make an appreciable dent in his hard core base. PP hasn't distanced himself enough from the Freaker's Ball going on under the Big Conservative Tent and he's going to have to pander to it lest it keep moving in search of something more right wing. It used to be more right wing Conservative parties only had to worry about the odd Randy White from beaking off about something stupid. It's ten times as bad now. A good third of his supporters are anti-vaxxers, people who subscribe to COVID authoritarianism and MSM paranoia conspiracies and of course MAGA.2 points

Of course he's small-c conservative. He was a central banker, for cryin' out loud. And of course there will be similarities in a lot of policies between the 2 centrist parties. Our politics are pretty stable from gov't to gov't. What's different lately is the importing of American style demonization of our opponents, especially from the right. You only have to read a few threads on this site to understand that.2 points

Harris, Turner and Campbell didn’t have a foreign enemy threatening to take over our country. Carney also benefits from the peculiar narrative of ‘not being a politician’ which has become rooted in North American culture. A problem with Poilievre - even now he hasn’t properly pivoted to a fully pro-Canada, anti-Trump campaign. Competing more subtly with the Liberals as the better alternative to fight Trump seems to be very hard for him. He’s still obsessed with Trudeau, Carney and Liberals as the main problem for our country which is not how most people see it any more. Yes, Carney will see some big fluctuations. Not being a politician has a big downside in a campaign where everything said and unsaid, every gesture is remorselessly examined. He needs to be less snarky about his blind trust (although I have to laugh at some MAGA fans suddenly being concerned by such relatively minor matters compared to their hero’s ongoing mega-larceny) and Lord knows what he’ll say in French in the coming months. One thing I think can say. Trudeau’s departure and Trump’s arrival have ensured the Liberals will not be wiped out in this election. Every Liberal MP must have an energy boost thinking of that.2 points

Literally proven in courts of law. People were criminally convicted of it. An additional government-led inquiries and investigations found the rest of it to be likely true So when you pretend it's a false premise that's a lie. And it makes it easy to dismiss virtually everything you say after that because I know that you're not interested in an honest debate about the subject you're prepared to lie. And it is not irrelevant in the slightest. If the public sends the message that it's okay to cross at a red light for one person then the next person is going to cross at the red light too. And you were all told this and there were a million people warning democrats do not do this because it will be used against you and you will not be able to stop it because no one will care. Now that's happening and you're shocked and you're lying about what happened in the past! You can't even bring yourself to say ah we were wrong, we should never have allowed this from any party this is terrible we should all band together and stop it which would still be slightly slimy but at least would be somewhat honest and you would probably have gotten some people saying that they agreed with you that both sides should stop Instead you perpetuate the lie. It has everything to do with it. If you go back and look I've said this about a trillion times over the last 2 years. " If you allow the dems to do this then if the republicans get in they will repay in kind and you won't be able to get a single republican to care". In many cases I was quite specific And now it's happening exactly as I said it would precisely. This is 100% predictable And still expect the other guy to play by the rules. That is just not how the world works. The democrats cheated again and again and again. And they expect that republicans not to do the same. That is childish Sorry kiddo, this is the world that the left made for itself. And I doubt it's over yet, there's some other dirty tricks they pulled that i'm sure trump will get around to. You cannot hold people to a higher standard than you hold yourself as a politician without there being blowback. The dems have set the bar low and erased the 'line' that used to be there, trump is now free to walk past that former line and do what he wants. You need to think about that in the future. If you silence someone prepare to be silenced back one day. If you steal someone's rights then yours will be taken. If you repress someone they might repress you in return. And then it becomes a pendulum.2 points

Not sure what that refers to but just to recap Joly rightly said it’s wrong for Trump or any country to claim Canada as the 51st state. But not only did Dougie take issue with that (which would have been outrageous enough) but his choice of attack was to falsely accuse her of being a former stripper who was having sex with Trudeau as punishment for contradicting Trump’s insults. . It’s just beyond disgusting, a perfect example of the lows MAGAs sink to.2 points

1. People say that, but I don't know if there are examples that either support it or refute it. 2. When it comes to people there's always change. Texas and Alberta were once solidly left wing. 3. We'd need to look at inside information to make a decision. 4. I'd welcome something like a true public forum for such discussions. 5. Lots of institutions die for good reasons too. Like the great telegraph companies, Honest Eds, the Catholic Church. ...1 point

See, what Radioactive and the rest of the leftoids want, is to flood America with illegal aliens and then let the judicial system decide who stays or goes. This is absurd, of course, but it's what these wokejobs want.1 point

However if you're referring to Poilievre he's been a lot more than that. But it's telling that you think someone who has done the job for all of their career is somehow less qualified than someone who has never done the job in their entire life Right..... can you point to where he said that? I know lefties often quote it but have you EVER seen ANY source for that? No? hmmmm. Ya think maybe someone made that up? He is. Just like you want a career doctor to be your surgeon and you want a career lawyer to defend you in court. we tried it your way last time and went with someone with zero experience. How'd that turn out? Worst prime minister in history.1 point

Yeah, you still don't get it. You're missing the forest for the trees. Trump has created an enemy for you. He has made you believe that illegal immigrants are a threat to the nation. But they aren't. The real threat to the nation is Trump, as he attacks the rule of law, and your systems and institutions, in order to gain more power for himself. And as he dismantles your democracy, he keeps you occupied, screaming, "But the immigrants!" No, it was the words from the Act. of another nation or government1 point

Yeah, you keep making this assertion, it still isn't accurate. Trump invoked the Alien Enemies Act. He followed the law.1 point

What Trump did was stage a massive spectacle for the viewing pleasure of his base. It's too bad that adherence to the law was lost as collateral damage. I am supporting the rule of law. A true patriot would respect the rule of law.1 point

This is the Luigi wing of the left. They will excuse violence, even murders just the same. That's a slippery slope. A lot of people are justifiably angry with their governments pushing mass immigration and radical demographic change via an exploited asylum system across Western societies. They've voted against it, and no one listens. So, what happens when they start pulling this shit?1 point

The judge ordered the plane turned around. Trump openly defied the order, thus breaking the law. There is something called "checks and balances". The judicial branch is a check on power grabs by the president. The president was acting outside of his powers when he deported all those people for no other reason than his say-so that "they are bad people." A president should not have that power. It is dictatorial. If the deportees had been given due process, we would have found out that some were not gang members at all. When the president overpowers the law, that is dictatorial.1 point

It's more than that. The purpose of the lying clique is nothing less than blowing up, annihilating all and every foundation, principle and notion of honesty, decency and normality. Only on that ashen and smoking ground could they build that new order of marching hatred - and they sure know it. This is how it happened before, and now it's right before our eyes. One has to think many times, think very well before trusting sleazy lying tongues pumping non-stop lies and hatred. What happens next is nothing like a guess - a certainty.1 point

No I just supported carbon pricing is all. They've never given up virtue signalling. They could signal they have by being honest about the fact they don't give a shit but they're cowards. I can’t see the Cons forming government with a minority. The Libs/NDP, assuming they have the seats, could simply form a coalition government to prevent that. Are the Cons going to govern with the Bloc? Very unlikely as they’d lose all credibility by governing with separatists. I think the Cons need to win a majority, or they will get nothing.1 point

At least he answers whereas PP says a lot but nothing LOL Correct, Carney has no political experience so he is not as adept at poitispeak ....talking a lot but saying nothing. I will grant, he does not have the historical background like PP who has done nothing but be a teat sucking politician his entire life. Even if PP wins (as a minority government) he will not be able to do much without parliament behind him. He will be a lame duck PM like Justin LOL1 point

Conservatives Crumble: Liberals surge past CPC into majority territory, but Grits’ vote commitment is softer Singh’s party down to single digits as left of centre voters stampede away from the NDP March 17, 2025 – A whirlwind first quarter of 2025 has swept up Canadian politics and tossed it back down in an unrecognizable jumble. New data from the non-profit Angus Reid Institute finds the governing Liberal Party – led by newly sworn-in Prime Minister Mark Carney – surging to a five-point vote intention advantage nationally after trailing by 29 points in late December. Were these numbers to hold, with the Liberals at 42 per cent in vote intention, what was a tired, discardable brand just three months ago would be on its way to a fourth term, this time with a majority. https://angusreid.org/federal-polling-canada-election-poilievre-prime-minister-carney-trudeau-singh-trump/1 point
