What a ridiculous topic..4 points

Not true at all. That's a total farce and you know it. The left is by far the anti-elitist group. All they do is talk about taxing elites. Conservatives are against dirty FBI agents, corrupt AGs and judges, social media censorship, MSM disinformation and a lot of other things, but "elites" aren't on that list at all.2 points

The idea of academic freedom is nice, in theory. It hasn't existed in reality for quite some time, though. Repeated surveys have demonstrated that universities hire people like them, with their beliefs, their ideology. As such, the staff at these institutions are mostly left and far left. And if anyone is on the right, they keep their mouth shut if they know what's good for them. The twisting of the curriculum in a wide variety of courses, esp liberal arts courses, in order to push that same ideological world-view is a major part of 'woke'. It's what indoctrinates the young and impressionable with CENSORED world-views like cultural relativism and post-modernism that taught that everyone was the same, every culture the same, every group the same. Why would you feel any sense of pride in your country when every country is the same, when no country, no people, no culture were better than any other? Of course, some could be worse than others: Ours. Student loans are one way. Oh, you're taking gender studies? We're not giving you a grant or loan for that, sorry. Federal grants are also given to universities for a wide variety of scientific, technical and social studies, all of which now require extensive information regarding DEI. You have to tell them how many of those involved in your group are of the favoured identity groups, for example, and how your study will further the interests of equity and inclusion. FTFY2 points

Only fools believed that Elon Musk bought Twitter to champion free speech. And only the dumbest of the dumb still believe it today. That cat has been very visibly out of the bag since just after the acquisition.2 points

This whole Elon thing is funny because the media yells, "Elon is the really the President" and then Trump gives a speech and says Elon isn't the President and then the media "There is a rift forming between Elon and Trump because he feels he has to tell everyone Elon isn't President, you know the thing we and every other sheep new station has been parroting for weeks with no proof, if there wasn't a problem between Elon and Trump then why did Trump feel the need to tell everyone he is President"2 points

Millie is about to have a "come to Jesus" moment. Trump's gonna can his fat arse so fast it'll make his cavernous head spin. He'll go on to do commentary on MSNBC or CNN...give speeches to saps who will pay to hear him whine and lie...and will go down in history as a fool.2 points

Your use of caps tells us you know you're wrong. You're kind of lying is what helped trump win his election1 point

I love that the left winger is going to define maga Generally speaking it appears vastly more accurate to say that 'maga' supporters are results driven. The right in general tends towards meritocracy. People who get crap done are thought well of and people who fail to get crap done or just spout empty promises are not thought well of. And that's true if the guy is a plumber or a tech Giant.1 point

It's not left versus right. Left versus right is about power dynamics between the ruling class and workers. Identity politics is easier to understand, because it's simply a moral take. No study required. You can have an opinion that is as basic as "I hate f*gs" or "I hate redneck haters" It's even got so dumb that people call identity politics warriors "Marxists" although it has nothing to do with Marxism. You absolutely should put such types on IGNORE, as it's been pointed out to them that this is the case. They're just being brats...1 point

Not really. They won, and LGBTQ is almost absorbed into our culture. The so-called left refuses to celebrate this, because it would mean that they're no longer needed as warriors in the social struggle. Even the troll kings on here will preface their posts with some kind of innocuous allowance like "I am not against whatever people want to do, but.." When I was young homosexual acts were illegal in Canada. There's progress. I think we should focus on that and not silly troll spats...1 point

Trans people are abnormal. I see that DUI asked you to define normal in post #751 and you simply linked to an online dictionary in response. I think the more important definition in this case, however, is the definition of abnormal. From the online dictionary you previously linked to, there are 2 definitions for the term: ** : deviating from the normal or average a person with abnormal [=exceptional] strength abnormal powers of concentration often : unusual in an unwelcome or problematic way abnormal behavior abnormal test results ** The first definition is positive, but the second one is not, and I think we can agree that it's the definition that is most often used. It's for this reason that I think that using this label for trans people is deceiving. There is a lot of talk of gender wars and what I think few realize is that transgender people can be a way to bridge this gap. So instead of terms like "normal" and "abnormal", I think terms like "common" and "uncommon" or "rare" would be better.1 point

Now you've jumped to total incompetence and framed it in a manner that suggests people with contrary minded opinions here are equating incompetence with gender/skin colour. You're missing the point entirely and IMO, you're doing it deliberately and under the guise of "little ole me is just asking a question." Skin pigment doesn't make you incompetent by virtue of its presence any more than it makes your performance superior or outstanding because of it.... that's the point being made here. If you are doing the promoting, hiring, firing (or whatever), allotting extra points in a ranked merit system for skin colour and what happens to exist between your legs only serves to elevate individuals above their peer group by using a random criteria that has nothing to do with merit. You could just as easily use eye colour, even/odd birth years, or cat person/dog person criteria... and if I were suggest that, you would immediately (and quite rightly) brand it as madness. And when you did, I'd ask you to prove that cat people were incompetent by virtue of not liking dogs. I could stand your argument on its head and ask if you have any evidence to suggest that the performance of women and people of colour is, by virtue of the gender/colour difference, superior to that of white males. The reason I haven't done that is because the proposition is ludicrous on its face. No one is saying that... and you know it. If you were to suggest that any merit list position should be elevated based on being male and being white, I would argue against it for the exact same reason I'm opposed to applying the formula in reverse. And ironically, if you were actually to do stuff like that it would immediately be obvious to everyone and it would have the exact opposite effect of that intended.. What do you suppose that would do to attrition? What merit list group do you suppose that attrition would most heavily impact? The answer is it would increase and the demographic that increased it would all be higher performers than the folks you actually promoted... over time, you can easily guess what happens. I think you're actually getting a taste of it right now and I don't think it's working out too well. Doubling down on it might not be the best plan but it is entertaining to watch once you're retired. When considering some of the LSD induced policy decisions of late, the question most often asked by veterans in the locker room is "WTF did you think was going to happen?"1 point

Seems like the majority of Trump supporters do. It's almost comical. The MAGA platform is based on protectionist policies, and is essentially anti-immigrant. A huge percentage of Trump's core supporters have some racist beliefs. It would not take a rocket scientist to predict that when two immigrants (DOGE), try to push a narrative that it's too costly to train American workers in the tech industry, in favour of overseas immigrants (mainly from India). his base was going to react like this.1 point

You don't read my responses, do you. Not only do I read your responses, I read responses of people who have already responded to your post, which in this case would be Radiorum's post. Continuing with what you wrote in your post: I think Radiorum's response to you in post #710 here was quite good. Quoting it: ** When I read this, I thought of other identifiable groups in the past who had to fight for their rights, and I imagine they too faced this kind of ignorance. I think you are the threat, not them. ** Your glib response to him was as follows: You think it's just some mythical "trans agenda" that your comments are a threat to? The truth is, attitudes such as the ones you hold lead to terrible consequences. A good article on such consequences can be seen here: https://www.npr.org/sections/shots-health-news/2024/09/25/nx-s1-5127347/more-trans-teens-attempted-suicide-after-states-passed-anti-trans-laws-a-study-shows I will say that I have serious doubts regarding the whole bit of minors getting gender affirming care, but other than that, I think they have some really good points. Quoting from the introduction to the article: ** States that passed anti-transgender laws aimed at minors saw suicide attempts by transgender and gender nonconforming teenagers increase by as much as 72% in the following years, a new study by The Trevor Project says. The peer-reviewed study, published published Thursday in the journal Nature Human Behavior, looked at survey data from young people in 19 states, comparing rates of suicide attempts before and after bans passed. Over the past few years, dozens of states have passed laws affecting how transgender young people do things like play sports, go to the bathroom at school, and access gender-affirming medical care. The study’s findings are not theoretical for some families. “You know my child is dead,” Kentucky Senator Karen Berg said at the statehouse during the debate over that state’s anti-trans bill in Feb. 2023. Her transgender son had died by suicide two months earlier at age 24. “Your vote yes on this bill means one of two things: either you believe that trans children do not exist, or you believe that trans children do not deserve to exist.” **1 point

Crossdressers could also use psychological help. Any man who doesn't look and act like a man, needs their head examined. I see that Radiorum already responded to your post in post #710. I think he made some good points, so I'm going to quote him. For the audience, this was the first part of his response to it: ** And how is that exactly? How should a man act? Is there a book "How to Act Like a Man"? Don't colour outside the lines? ** You in turn responded to his post. Your response to his 2 lines above was: I see that he never responded to your response, which I think is understandable, given what you said above. As I've said in the past, I think that it's people like you who chastise any male or female who dares to break from social norms that get many transgender people to think that they need to take hormones/hormone blockers or surgery, just so that they can "fit" with the gender they identify with. Anyway, continuing with what Radiorum had to say in his post: ** It's attitudes like yours in society that drives transgender persons to despair. ** I agree with Radiorum here. You, on the other hand, simply kept on going with your disparaging remarks regarding transgender people: The truth is, what transgender people want most is just to be accepted for who they are. Instead, they are disparaged, which sometimes leads them to make decisions they can't undo: https://www.npr.org/sections/shots-health-news/2024/09/25/nx-s1-5127347/more-trans-teens-attempted-suicide-after-states-passed-anti-trans-laws-a-study-shows1 point

But there's nothing respectful about your debate. You walk into the debate and being insulting and arrogant and refusing to address any of the points that are made to you. And Michael is even worse. I pointed out something that is not only true but is easily verified and in fact was verified by another poster here as soon as I said it and he throws nothing but insults and then runs away to complain about how we can't have an honest discourse. It is 100% obvious that you have no interest in this honest discourse. How does that make your cause look do you think. Do you think people are reading this and thinking better of trans people and their advocates? Do you think this is advancing your cause? Sigh. It's like trying to explain to archie bunker why he's racist1 point

Leftists: "It was just some stealing, no big deal. Don't do anything... Oh so he committed a common assault now, it's unrelated to his stealing, don't do anything... Now he just raped someone, again it's unrelated to his previous crimes. He already served 3 months, let him out. Second rape, no big deal, let him out again. Oh look, more assaults, but not very bad ones, so we'll use some of the money from Kamala's bail fund to get them out of jail. And never discriminate against this guy by searching min for guns. I can. Like when a sitting president attempted to remain in power by installing fake electors in multiple states, then attempting to coerce his vice president into certifying the fraudulent electors over the legitimate electors. That's felony election interference. And that is treason. Whats funny is, while this sitting president doesn't deny he did it (he called it an "official act ", his sycophants deny it ever happened.1 point

It might mean nothing to you that job hiring and promotion is based on race. It might mean nothing to you that criminal sentencing is based on race. It might mean nothing to you that government programs, grants and benefit programs are based on race. That universities and schools teach young people that Canada is a horrific land of oppression, racism, homophobia, transphobia and islamophobia, or that its entire history can be written off as genocide, colonial evil and racism. It might mean nothing to you that our streets are clogged with jew-hating terrorist lovers the police won't touch because left-wing politicians are afraid it might cost them votes. It might mean nothing to you that every foreign ethnic. racial and religious group in Canada is awarded grants by the government to celebrate themselves while Canadians are told to shut the f*ck up and not offend anyone. But it bothers a very highly significant number of Canadians.1 point
