“He is still saying he didn’t lose the election,” Mr. Walz said of Mr. Trump, turning to Mr. Vance. “Did he lose the 2020 election?” “Tim,” Mr. Vance replied, “I’m focused on the future.” “That,” Mr. Walz said, “is a damning non-answer.” There was a reason, he added, that Mr. Pence was not on the stage as Mr. Trump’s running mate anymore. “America, I think you’ve got a really clear choice,” Mr. Walz said, his eyes getting bigger, “of who’s going to honor that democracy and who’s going to honor Donald Trump.”4 points

why not? The first nations are colonial settlers. They didn't involve here, they walked here Nope, nope, nope, well sort of with booze, not drugs, nope and nope. In fact the majority of rapes then and now done to first nations are by... you guessed it.... first nations. Its' an age old tradition from a group who consider women to be chattel for trade. When they did the missing women enquiry the indigenous women begged that the rapist men not be punished for it, and that was not the first time that had come up. THe first nations still have their land and have every single right that 'whitey' does, and then some. And the destruction of their culture was at their own hands for the most part. I know - you'd like to blame whitey for every single thing that's gone wrong with the first nations as if they are children with no ability to manage their own affairs or build something on their own. You would have us believe they are a child race. Dozens of other cultures came here with nothing, and within a generation were thriving. Those fleeing russia often got here with the clothes on their backs fleeing massive death and war and torture in their home lands during the revolution, and were gifted a small bit of land but thats it. They went on to form strong communities, learn the language, build a future and have a thriving life in no time nope. It is 100% their own inability to take responsibility for their own lives and their own communities and their own people and to turn to the government to hold their hands and wipe their butts while at the same time complaining that it's the government that caused all their problems Every other group that comes here finds solutions to make their way even though they often came from horrible terrible circumstance. These guys have been crippled for 200 years because they went to school? I don't think so3 points

"When a campaign aide warned a Trump operative ― both of whose names have been blacked out ― that attempts to block vote counting in Detroit could lead to unrest, the operative responded “Make them riot” and “Do it!!!” ...The aide alerted Trump to the developing situation, in the hope that he would then take action to ensure Mr. Pence’s safety. Mr. Trump looked at the aide and said only, “So what?”2 points

This is something I notice with leftists a lot. They take something small and then try to use it to blur the lines of sanity. Like they will point out some area where the lines of morality are iffy and use that to justify the absurd. They have to be aware of it. Like Chrissy for instance has to know why people don't want a drag performer reading to their children but would be perfectly fine with an actor who has worn makeup doing so. She would even be able to predict which people we would oppose.2 points

These are the keys: The economy and immigration, and Harris is in over her head on both. What clearly doesn't help her is that she's already the VP, and has done NOTHING to resolve both - in fact, you could say that she FACILITATED illegal immigration, and I wouldn't be surprised if she had a hand in facilitating inflation. This election will be a landslide in favor of Trump if we can keep the democrats from rigging it.2 points

Who should decide? YOU???? Or the mother and her doctor? Why do you think this is any of your business?2 points

As if anyone needed more proof that Trumpism is a cult: Trump tells cheering audience that he doesn’t use teleprompters while the teleprompters are clearly visible on either side of him As always his kool-aid drinkers are clearly indifferent when Trump’s words directly contradict observable reality just like good little cult followers2 points

As a Trump supporter, I'm not sure how you can throw stones at anyone regarding "word salads." Apparently you didn't watch the presidential debate, or you would have seen Trump's incoherent, off-topic ranting contrasted to a well-composed Harris, who manipulated Trump with grace and ease.1 point

I thought Christians have been predicting a one world government, isn't that what the second coming is meant to achieve. And what a bloody affair Christians are hoping for. All those who don't accept JC are sent to hell sounds a bit like your description of Stalinist Russia. If you don't believe you're killed. I read the document you linked to and didn't see the phrase one world government. I did see a lot about achieving sustainable development and countries working together. Sustainable development would suggest living within your means, a pretty conservative principle wouldn't you agree. South and Central America are largely Christians who also believe in the bible so perhaps you can explain how their Christianity differs from yours. Different Christian sects have a long history of killing each other. You are right blathering on about fairy tales doesn't limit ones freedoms. But surely you must see that passing laws that reflect a religious belief is in fact imposing. Imagine you live in a Muslim country and you are expected to praise god five times a day but if you don't you can lose your job or worse. That is imposing religious belief on the body politic. Or imagine an ultra sound shows that the fetus in your womb has died but the state you live in has a strict abortion ban and as a consequence the fetus rots, the mother gets septic and dies. That is imposing a religious belief on people whether they share that belief and puts their life at risk. So if you come knocking at my door with your fairy tales I will ask you to leave. If you stand out on the sidewalk with your bullhorn that too is an imposition that limits my right to have a good nights rest. Here is the oath: I swear (or affirm) that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to His Majesty King Charles the Third King of Canada, His Heirs and Successors and that I will faithfully observe the laws of Canada including the Constitution, which recognizes and affirms the aboriginal and treaty rights of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples and fulfil my duties as a Canadian citizen. The Charter of rights and freedoms are embedded in the constitution. If you read the constitution and the charter it does not allow Christians to force others to believe what they believe. That is why successful countries have a separation between church and state.1 point

I offered that book as an example and noted that this has been spoken of extensively And the author of that book doesn't have any reason to be bias. You produce one book without even a citation in it from hyper partisan authors and AFTER complaining about a research book and then whine about it being questioned AND the book you recommended doesn't seem to support your position. You said Sorry kiddo. But on the face of it your argument is ridiculous.1 point

I don't understand why them being sexually abused is connected to them being natives. It is a well known cliche that kids in catholic schools are sexually abused. All kids. What does them being native have to do with anything? All kids in catholic school also had to suffer corporal punishment...etc. I don't see how those issues specifically relate to anything about them being native. The only thing that really is connected to them being native is that they were being trained to be in a European culture rather than a native culture, which is not in their dna. But for people to admit that this matters in any way they would first have to admit that dna matters...which of course means that Adolf Hitler did nothing wrong. So nobody is allowed to argue that.1 point

Their children were never stolen. There was a 30 year period when attendance at a school was mandatory - either residential schools or day schools on/near reserves. Even then only a third of native kids went. Were some children at residential schools sexually abused? Yes, sadly. Were some children on reserves sexually abused there? Yes, sadly. In any event, mandatory attendance at residential schools ended 75 years ago. How long do they get to hide in a corner and whine? Look at what was done to the Jews in Europe. Afterward, they went to the shittiest place on Earth and thrived.1 point

That was never the point of government policy towards them. First, government policy was to clear them off the land so it could be settled. That's when they were offered things to settle on other land. After that, the government found themselves locked into taking care of them. There have been periodic efforts to get natives off the welfare wagon but native leaders have resisted furiously. They like the welfare wagon, especially since they get to distribute the money and skim off the top. They have steadfastly opposed removing the Indian Act or anything that would lessen their power and wealth. Their ambition seems to be self-government, with them having full control over all their affairs, but us still paying all the bills. Point of order. If the government assimilated them they would no longer be dependent on the government.1 point

I don't assume. You speak as you are. You asked me to read history. I did and slapped you in the face with facts. You still spew emotional trash.....with no proof of your discharge. I asked a question, what have the indigenous added to Canada, and you have refused or cannot answer. That is not racist, that is a question that you seem to be unable to answer. Yup, Europeans colonized and won the wars and battles but....so did the indigenous. The glass house the indigenous lived in is all broken. Nope, I do not confuse at all, the indigenous lost. They were not just fighting another tribe , they lost to a mightier force. And when you lose, you lose. Just like the tribes they conquered lost and were killed, tortured and taken as slaves. The Europeans won. 300 years is 11 Generations and 400 years is 15 Generations. The lacking of math skills is on you . Not being critical, being correct. LOL. https://howmanygenerations.com/ All I ask you to do is prove your accusations. I proved mine and all you have is useless BS rhetoric. As for getting them hooked on drugs and alcohol, well, that is truly BS. Every person can decide their life path and when you have generations not having to work or do anything for everything they have, well, they wander off a path of their own religious, righteous, live off the land mentality. They chose to do drugs and alcohol just like anyone. All addicts always blame someone else. Bottom line, you have nothing to defend or prove your claims. You just keep blowing rhetorical smoke. The losers are the ones whining and complain but still demanding to be given everything form the clothes on their backs to housing to vehicles and everything that other Canadians have to pay for. I am not racist in any way, I believe in equality no mater what race, colour, religion or creed you are. If you can prove anything you say, please, I await but, I suspect you have no proof, just emotional BS.1 point

Oh? Here is a word-for-word quotation: “Do you know that in the US some medical schools are reducing the requirements for nonwhite students to enter, and then dumbing down the curriculum so more of them can pass?“ To be even more clear, medical school curriculums are incredibly rigorous. It is extremely hard for anyone to get into medical school and even harder to graduate.1 point

How come you didn’t demand Obama’s conception certificate? How come the Constitution grants citizenship based on where you’re born, not where you’re conceived? I the entire nation has long-standing agreement that a third trimester fetus is viable and cannot be aborted on demand, unless there is a serious medical reason why. That was the Roe v Wade standard. Late term abortion as birth control is not something doctors in even liberal states will perform. But medical complications can occur and the government has no business making them.1 point

I'd offer a correction. This really doesn't have anything to do with desperation. It's just who Trump is: a pathological liar. He started from day 1 literally telling people it didn't rain at his inauguration, when the entire country watched it happen. His wife sat on stage next to him under an umbrella. His guest speaker, Franklin Graham, went on stage just after Trump and mentioned the rain in his remarks. And Trump, being a compulsive liar made the claim anyway. Because he's mentally disordered. He's the kind of guy who would pee on your head and tell you it's NOT raining. And his devoted cultists can't be bothered to call him on the lies. They'd just luxuriate in the golden shower of his attention.1 point

A. The pregnant person is indisputably a person. B. The fetus is not a person C. Even if the fetus were a person with full equal rights, it would no more entitled to inhabit the host's body--steal the blood and tissue, and inflict medical and psychological trauma--than any other person. Your mother brought you into the world, but you can't take her blood or her kidney, not any other part of her simply because of that relationship. She can willingly donate either, but you're not entitled to take them against her will.1 point

I did,. Your tribes exploited, killed, tortured and enslaved and stole their territory with all that they battled with. Don't be self righteous. Your ancestors were horrible people and gave no lenience to whomever thy conquered. "Despite the myth that Aboriginals lived in happy harmony before the arrival of Europeans, war was central to the way of life of many First Nation cultures. Indeed, war was a persistent reality in all regions" https://www.canada.ca/en/department-national-defence/services/military-history/history-heritage/popular-books/aboriginal-people-canadian-military/warfare-pre-columbian-north-america.html "IN THE LUSH rainforests of the upper and isolated inlets and interior of the Pacific Northwest and Canada’s West Coast, the moral stain common to the rest of humanity – Slavery – was also present. “Slavery was a permanent status in all Northwest Coast societies,”" https://www.dorchesterreview.ca/blogs/news/first-nations-their-slaves?srsltid=AfmBOoouWSRro887fFQXn1nDYghUTLYY9LL5iuKeYAVExwqXg5Ib2LMg Despite the myth that Aboriginals lived in happy harmony before the arrival of Europeans, war was central to the way of life of many First Nation cultures. Indeed, war was a persistent reality in all regions" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavery_among_Native_Americans_in_the_United_States You deny that? So, I think that you should read the history books, not the bullshit stories told by your grandfather that has been changed every time it was told LOL Once again, what have you done for Canada in the past 300 years except take, take, take. I am no racist, I am a realist and can see lazy ass bums when I see them. Canada has fed clothed, housed , educated and given you money for 40 generations and you have not given anything in return. Go ahead, try and prove me wrong. Defend your welfare society with proof....1 point

That's beyond stupid. First off at the height of the school program only about 30% of first nations ever went to a residential school. And second off john a was completely pissed that he had to spend money on this. The whole school thing was a direct result of the king and the first nations making a deal whereby the king promised that education would be provided to the children of the first nations. The residential school was the cheapest and easiest way to make good on that promise There was no nefarious plan or scheme or the like. If the government had genuinely wanted to make first nations dependent on them it could have done it in a much much easier fashion and certainly didn't need residential schools. If anything keeping them on the reserve and uneducated and 100% dependent on government handouts even for food would have been much more effective1 point

Poorly put, but I agree with the sentiment. Universities have been veering away from truth and fact into 'interpreting' truth and facts in the light of 'colonialism' and 'racism'. TL;DR Version: Despite demanding Canadian workers have ever-higher academic qualifications, work ever-increainglonger hours and in some cases investing in fancier machines and computers for them to use, our businesses and government are misusing the talent and capital for non-innovative purposes. Canada is like a horse- buggy maker researching and developing the latest buggy-making technology, hiring the world’s most talented engineers, forcing them to work around the clock developing the latest buggies …all in the age of the Ford Model T. And whenever they do actually develop an innovative patent or design that could have actual long-term future value, they sell it off for a fraction of its worth. What I wish the article had touch on: - The extent to which foreign ownership of “Canadian” companies has discouraged innovation in Canada. Once you become just a another “branch office” of a foreign multinational you often lose your ability or desire to innovate and your focus becomes just routine run-rate activities. In this category I would also put foreign “capture” of Canadian companies where the Canadian owned business has become so dependent upon supplying foreign (usually American) customers with a basic good such as logs, oil etc. that they have no ability or desire to innovate or evolve - The impact of Canada’s small monopolistic and notoriously conservative financial sector. As I’ve read elsewhere, if you’re a new startup or an existing business with a revolutionary innovative product, it’s extremely hard to attract investment or lending compared to other peer countries as there are very few financiers in Canada relatively speaking and they tend be very risk- averse.1 point
