Remember how Joe was this huge civil rights leader? Yeah, no one else remembers that either. But he loves to tell everyone that. So, why isn't Joe in NY or at GW, protesting for Palestinians or defending the rights of the Jews that are being attacked? He's a civil rights leader, so he says, and he hasn't said word one about the protests or the rights of either side. Take a side Joe. Be "the civil rights leader" you claim to be. Nope, he's in Deleware sunning his nuts again.3 points

Can you not read? Oops. Imagine equating non-violent protestors exercising their First Amendment rights with a violent street gang like the Proud Boys. You really don't have a clue.3 points

LGBTQ Mafia is a made up thing. I'm not going to change my mind on this topic because you use this term, any more than if I called religious people Evangelical Count Choculas. The courts are the ones that thread the needle, and yes public attitudes are a factor. It would go better for religious folks in the future if they took a less combative stance and more legalistic one. Because the future woke mafia is going to be pretty powerful I'm guessing.2 points

Lol. Sure you do. Everybody forget about the "freedom convoy" and, oh, some little thing that happened on Jan, 6. Nothing says "respect for the rule of law" like a howling mob smashing through the capitol, assaulting police officers and pursuing our lawmakers through buildings and barricades until a LEO finally had to pull the trigger.2 points

I learned about it in 4th grade and am white.. was I beaten over the head with it. My point is that any mention of any kind of any length could be construed as CRT. When I learned about it in 4th grade ( and I am as white as white gets).. I did not feel any kind of shame. Bad stuff happened.. and I was not the perpetrator. folks can learn about atrocities and such and not have it be some form of virtual signaling.2 points

Shouldn't have to here I don't think. MP's need to disclose their assets to the conflict of interest commissioner soon after they've been elected. https://ciec-ccie.parl.gc.ca/en/rules-reglements/Pages/Comp-Proc-MPs-Proc-Conf-Deputes.aspx I think it's just when they or their staff are being lobbied by people like Honda that we also need to be in the room.2 points

Thread is yet another proof that right wingers not only love state violence, it is the central pillar of their ideology. Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.2 points

UCLA last night. https://www.cnn.com/videos/us/2024/05/01/ucla-protests-wednesday-ldn-vpx.cnn Columbia and others. https://www.npr.org/2024/05/01/1248401802/columbia-university-protests-new-york Lol...dumb little Libbies. Professional protestors all over the place. Now I wanna know who's been funding this crap. This is going to get really uncomfortable for Libbies.1 point

Here you go. The Palestinian Centre for Peace and Democracy was founded in 1992 by a group of progressive politicians, academics, journalists and civil society activists within the Palestinian territories occupied in 1967 https://www.pcpd.ps/1 point

If we go with your definition, it is "ethnic cleansing" if Israel evicts one Palestinian from their home for any reason. I mention the amount, because with what Israel is doing, there is no real path to ever achieving any kind of you know... "ethnic cleansing" So, if that outcome is not going to happen... how is it that you claim that is what is being done? Listen to yourself, you claim that it doesn't matter if the population is not reduced... so then how is it ethnic cleansing if nothing is being cleansed? You are the one ignoring the complexity behind the fact that Palestinians lost a war, and Israel's ongoing Settlement policies, which started with a concern with Security... you know, because the Palestinians and others keep trying to kill them.1 point

Resorting to name calling is a clear sign of losing an argument and nothing more to add to you point LOL1 point

And well before then, too. The only thing that creates harmony is absolute, autocratic dictatorship with enough force to suppress rebellion. Incidentally, if you added up all the deaths in all the wars Israel has been involved in since its inception you'd come to about 60k people. The US has killed that many while fighting ISIS. Almost ten times that many have died in the Syrian wars alone - which are continuing. Twice that number died in the fighting between Iran and Iraq.1 point

Oh, you want world population comparisons, eh? Okay, how's this one? Muslims make 23% of world population but got 1.5% Nobel prizes, while the Jews account for 0.2% of world population but got 20% Nobel prizes. Try this one if it makes you happier. 25 men and by my reckoning about 9 are Muslim. No obvious Jews here. https://www.boloprogram.org/1 point

Well, we already have a million special laws on the books to protect abortion clinics from protests. If someone blocks the entrance, they face special federal charges with years in federal prison. Notice, you don't see Conservative protestors blocking traffic like this and taking over campus like this every other year for something... gee, I wonder why. We don't have to even consider having a double standard because we already respect the rule of law more to begin with.1 point
-
Yeah, it's usually Alex Jones-quality analysis. All protestors are paid. The bad ones are false-flag plants. Ray Epps works for the government and all the dead kids and grieving parents from Sandy Hook are "crisis actors." In other words, nutball conspiracy nonsense.1 point

1. The basis for making such a decision would be solely if it was popular. I would guess that in many jurisdictions, it's not. 2. As in... Truman Capote? Tennessee Williams?1 point

I'm sure many, especially the religious ones, wish Israel had never been created but I don't believe all Palestinians wish that, especially the left-wing secular ones. Peace is probably completely hopeless with religious people leading things over there, especially the right-wing ones. Secular lefties are the only long term hope for everything in the world. I can't think of much that I'd leave up to religious people to figure out over there especially peace in the ME and surrounding region.1 point

I note that you had to add the term "en masse" which isn't in the definition I provided. There's nothing that says ethnic cleansing must be conducted with speed or against a large group at once versus slowly and piecemeal. And there's nothing in the definition of ethnic cleansing about reducing the overall size of a given population either, but please continue to grasp at straws. Again you're doing nothing here but betraying your own ignorance of Israel's policies and motivations here.1 point

I travel to Canada for work about once a year, but I am not familiar with the day to day politics there, but I do find it amazing how the Police can go out of their way to arrest that Rebel News Journalist every other week for merely existing... and it sure seemed like they used the heavy hand of the law during COVID to destroy peoples lives that did not comply or the Truckers protest... but they can't find that these protestors are breaking any laws?1 point

Do you think that you're not supporting genocide Gaetan? Are you honesty oblivious to the fact that Iran, the PLO, Hezbollah, Hamas, etc are all dedicated to genocide? They live and breath it, and have done so for generations. You're the poster boy for support of genocide and you don't even know it.1 point

Oh, I see. So, if you are "Pro-Choice" then you must also support choice in all things... like school choice? Or maybe, the terminology is in regard to abortion and the status of the unborn child being a human life with a right to life. Did you already forget your big speech about kindness and tolerance and respect? You want everyone else to play along with a persons fantasy role play trying to be something they are not... but you can't even do the same here yourself. No, it is not even a matter of just not being exclusive. We are talking about significant spreads. About 50/50 Men women... etc...1 point

Beave...in that state, Noem was well within her rights and her responsibility to put a dog down that had bitten people and attacked livestock. You obviously don't have what it takes to understand country life. Now you can drive to the grocery store and buy the food farmers bring to market for you. But don't think about it because...evidently your delicate sensibilities can't handle such common realities.1 point

And you're a hypocrite and dishonest. Most people would prefer to be a loon But i guess that's your way of saying "i have no defense of my actions" No it isn't. So - we caught trudeau breaking the law and lying and people like you let him get away with it. Sooooo - how did that restore trust exactly? Again ... we knew the gov't was corrupt and..... But no reason to. As long as people like you continue to let them get away with it and pretend it's harper's fault for not passing MOAR laws then it will continue and get worse. Why do you think we even have a democracy? It was so the public could defend itself against tyranny and corruption that was prevalent under the feudal system. And you're like "Well democracy doesn't matter when it comes to gov'ts". Yeash.1 point

LOL, come on indeed. Are you comparing the kind of warfare and eradication employed in Yugoslavia to Settlement disputes in Israel? At this pace, maybe in 10,000 years the West Bank will be "cleansed." *eye roll*1 point

It's a Nanos poll. The other was a U of A study. Using the act was neither unconstitutional or illegal but it was unnecessary and overkill.1 point

Eyeball, AG, After 1815, there was a structure of peace. Ordinary people lived well from 1815-1914. In 1914, this structure fell apart - the elite killed itself, and for ordinary people, the next thirty years were a disaster. ==== IMHO: We must avoid this catastrophe.1 point

No, eyeball. They can because that's how business works. Acquire goods or services, figure how much it cost you, mark it up and pass it on. Consumers have a choice of buying the goods or services or not. And if you raise costs for ALL businesses in that sector then they all raise their prices. It's just that simple. There is no way for the gov't to 'force' businesses to take less profit in the end without driving business away from the country.1 point

Not me. I voted for someone else. You only say I voted for Trudeau because I didn't vote for whoever you thought I should. You similarly assume that if I mock some lame-assed silly criticism of Trudeau I'm supporting him. If it needs to be said these criticisms don't do much to make me want to consider voting for your guy instead, well that's not my fault either.1 point

I said people are "apathetic about the gov't doing illegal and unconstitutional things". Which is why we have a gov't right now that is highly corrupt and scandal-riddled. I know, haha. It's a CTV poll, so CTV-watchers are the ones replying to it.1 point

Prosperity was never created in any country without taxes. Or regulations. You can't have one without the other, not for long anyway.1 point

Those polls only reflect those who bought into the propaganda pushed by media outlets like CTV and CBC.1 point
-
It's actually disappointing if these polls are correct, and shows why our gov't is in the state it is with very little accountability required by apathetic voters. It means too large a portion of the public is okay with the government doing illegal and unconstitutional things. At least when the gov't is doing it to OTHER people they don't like. 😉1 point

It was a anecdote from her life in the country, it is what happens there. Jeez you all overreact to everything. You weren't there, everybody can talk a good game when they aren't the ones facing it.1 point

According to MSM, yes. The reality they didn't show you was the amount of SUPPORT they had. And it inspired similar convoys all over the world. But that wasn't in the MSM, either. I get it though - people who only rely on the CBC often have zero idea of what's really going on.1 point
-
And yet, the public didn't really support the convoy, right? I think a better way to think about it is that it all just died down.1 point
-
I know it seems like that, in hindsight, to people who heavily bought into the hysteria. Think though: When the Jews first started getting persecuted - shops vandalized, hate graffiti, businesses boycotted, children getting beaten up at school, wear this star of david when out in public .......anyone who said "This is leading to very bad places" would also have been accused of being "hyperbolic." Seriously, the only thing that stopped all you guys from going to very bad places....was the Freedom Convoy.1 point
-
You don't even know what you're talking about so I don't trust you to speak for me. If you control a territory but not its borders, waters or airspace, can you really be said to control a territory? No it's an admission that Israel is committing genocide.1 point
-
The unrealistic view then results in the supporters needing public funding or legislation. From there, the shady stuff happens. Politicians getting a cut, the supplier (wind, solar, geothermal) overestimating how it will cost, and all that comes with it. Prior to my time with the state government, I worked for a nonprofit whose mission was alternative energy. Those folks while smart were impossibly unrealistic. According to them.. the only reason that everybody did not have solar panels on their roof was laziness.1 point

Baloney there’s no liability. People give away dogs all the time, especially vicious ones. But what she describes sounds like simply typical puppy behaviour. As I said, Millions of people own or have grown up with dogs and know that a 14-month old puppy can be trained or simply given away. You can’t gaslight us into thinking shooting puppies is normal. That’s why she’s getting backlash even from fellow conservatives and has just tanked her VP hopes.1 point

Let's be honest here. She put her dog down because it was aggressive. It tried to bite her, was aggressive, and had killed her neighbor's chickens. You and others dishonestly framed this as if she shot it just because she didn't like it or it didn't hunt well enough for her.1 point
