No it is EXACTLY what you responded with. The post was about Trump and you did not respond with agreement or disagreement or any opinion related to the subject, you immediately replied with whatabout what Clintons did who were not being discussed. Deflection at ir's best. And arguing that because Billy shit on the carpet, Fred should be excused for shitting on the carpet too, at it's worst. Two wrongs do not make a right. EDIT: And as usual it worked, so no one is now discussing the corrupt conman before the courts, they're all arguing about the Clintons who don't matter for a flying f*ck at this moment.2 points

I'm not that shocked given how ubiquitous mistrust in journalists is along with the sense that the media is just another jbranch of government. It's probably gotten so bad there are fewer people even entering the field. Yup, figured as much... 6 journalism programs in the country have shut down or paused admissions in last 12 months https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/journalism-schools-low-enrolment-1.70291602 points

here's the thing you leave out. people don't make money by themselves in the forest. they use public infrastructure... electricity, roads, sewage etc. they rely on the stability provided by law and national defence. they make money from natural resources that they do not own. they employ labour that they did not educate. this is all on the public dollar. so think of taxation as paying a dividend to the publics investment. our economy is by definition a mixed economy. of course, politics is all about the money and who pays for that infrastructure that all businesses need to operate. if working stiffs who are taxed at source feel stiffed then they should! my income has come from a corporation that i own for 25 years now and taxation is a joke. taxing individuals at source is a criminal enterprise. ps. only old guys are still afraid of communists2 points

Women are more likely to be progressive. You can't get hired if you're not progressive. So right there that would give them a big edge.2 points

So, that would mean Mr. Poilieve is going to have to fight the next election from a prison cell? That is silly. Mr. Poiliveve will be our Prime Minister in 18 months. In two years, everything will be fixed to your satisfaction. Be patient, my friend.?2 points

The Dems had a secret vote and decided not to be racist anymore, while at the same time secretly making Republicans racist ? I don't know how they did it but a lot of leftards swear by it. Oddly enough the Dems still pit people against each other along racial lines and incite racial riots all the time, even though they "aren't racist". By the same token I'm a Canucks fan now, but I still make loud noises sometimes when the Oilers score, and I still wear hats with the oil drop once in a while to keep my head warm... If you watched the video that I am Groot posted, you'll see those guys noticing that "We always get these stories about black men being murdered by the police, and then as more and more evidence comes in we find out that things didn't play out the way we were told that they did. It happened with Trayvon, M Brown, etc but I thought the Floyd one was legit until recently..." Uh-huh. And exactly who cranked out those twisted narratives over and over again? Was it the exact same people every time? Yup. But hey, why not just keep believing them, hey? Wasn't it Obama who pimped the T Martin story as a senseless, racist murder? Yup. While CNN was showing Trayvon's cute little face from his 12 yr old class photo, Obama was the one telling the story about how he was just shot because he was black. "I just can't help but notice that he looked like me..." His story was a farce. Keith Ellison is also a Demonrat, and he's the AG who decided that the public shouldn't have access to that footage. Now even high-profile Dem talking heads are admitting that the footage gave them an entirely different perception of how things went down (but I don't think that the diehard leftist trolls here will ever admit to that). It's the same thing every time. CNN/Dems twist narratives to the extreme and squeeze every last morsel of racial hatred possible out of every non-story, and it's only when the rioting has faded to nothing that they will acknowledge the real story. "But they're not racists." ? I still haven't gotten past the 10:12 mark or whatever of the video, but I wonder if they're gonna question the reasons why the bodycam footage was withheld from the public while all the riots were occurring...2 points

One thing I notice happening is that local Twitter feed, facebook groups and websites are filling the void, created by hard-working people who are named and known to the community. They're starting the local press all over again, and that's a great thing.1 point

It's like if Trump admitted he is a POS. He never does self-deprecation, so on that rare occasion it's much more likely he's NOT lying. Clearly gnat man did not believe that "just messin with ya" was a self deprecating admission of fault. He accepts it as SOP. AKA is completely comfortable with TROLLING so much so he can admit it without a shred of shame.1 point

Meh. If only it were as clear as WWII as to who the good guys and bad guys are. Of course, in your black and white world, Hamas is Hitler and everyone who dares to criticize what Israel has done for decades is a Nazi sympathizer. It must be so easy to live in your brain and always have good vs evil be so easy to discern.1 point

What shocks me is that people are not paying attention to the decline in journalism in general. That we got any of the stories on Doug Ford, Justin Trudeau that we did is amazing to me.1 point

I'm glad that you're so invested in the idea that he was not choked. Now, it would be nice if you were equally invested in the fact that the primary cause of death was cardiopulmonary arrest as a result of Chauvin's relentless restraint. It really doesn't matter what problems or history Floyd had. Bang on about them all you like. Doesn't change the fact that Chauvin killed him. That's in the medical report. It's a matter of record in court. It's held up on appeal. And Chauvin is still rotting in prison, where he belongs.1 point

Putin was invading a sovereign nation, not planning a weekend getaway. It's not like he can say "Oh, no, Trump lost the election, better move up our invasion by a month." Trump is on record saying he doesn't care who wins, as long as the war in Ukraine ends quickly. And it's not difficult to understand what that would mean in terms of support for Ukraine. If there's anything that makes us look weak, disorganized and adrift as a nation is the insurrection and attempted coup. There are nuances to the Crimes situation. Clearly, Ukraine wasn't in a position to effectively fight that war yet. Sanctions were the appropriate response.1 point

A. If you don't communicate why you're ending a relationship, no one benefits from that ending. And frankly that kind of transparency is something that public companies owe the public. Aside from that, companies with values, like people with values, have the platform and power to make the world a better place. They should speak out. It's good for society and usually good for brand and business--unless your customer base is full of degenerates. B. It's nonsense to require historical perfection from people or businesses in order for them to do the right thing--for society and for their business. Public companies have a responsibility to their shareholders. C. Musk is an a-hole, but he's been an a-hole for a long time. The recent spate of advertiser pullouts has nothing to do with that, and everything to do with content. Musk let the deplorables on the platform and advertisers weren't happy, but he promised their ads wouldn't be associated with that content so they stuck with it. He obviously lied--or failed--so when their brands appeared alongside toxic content they pulled out. Simple cause and effect.1 point

Your economic fantasies are one thing, but you people blaming Biden for the Putin's invasion of Ukraine are just insane. Trump's lips were conspicuously chapped from kissing Putin's ass. But you seem to think Putin somehow wouldn't have invaded Ukraine if his biggest fan were still in office? That's just nonsense. Trump losing the election (the election that Putin was trying to help him win again) was a major setback for Putin, because Trump would have simply let him take Ukraine. No support, no international rally.1 point

Cannot be ignored?? Canada's defence is not ignored, we all recognize it. The problem is no Canadians are wiling to work for it. People like me and Army Guy are fewer and fewer. We made a career of service and defending Canada. Most people talk about it and think someone like me and Army Guy (and a handful of others of course) will do the sacrifice and they just hang back and complain.1 point

This is a very, very bizarre interpretation of this scenario. Bullying? Lol. Musk is not entitled to their money. What he sells them at X is advertising space alongside content on the platform. No respectable business wants to have their brand affiliated with content that does not align with their brand values. If Musk's policies or processes regarding content make the ad space undesirable for brand affiliation then companies won't pay for it. Nor should anyone expect them to. And there is nothing "woke" about basic human decency. I can't yell you, the outrage is organic. The employees at those companies take pride in their corporate values and have zero interest in being affiliated with Musk's sinking shithole.1 point

But he HAS read the Indictments, as I have also, and he is correct in the general sense of how Trump's pardons are demonstrably different than former presudential.pardons. For example also, Trump hands out pardons like candy, or..like a MAFIA Don does to his thugs who go out and commit crimes knowing they will get out of any retribution.1 point

Dated I woman for a while until she told me about how "unsafe" and "unproven" the Pill and IUDs were. Every woman I knew used the Pill in the 1960s, my ex wife had UIDs for 25 yrs except for when we were trying to have kids. Decided I wasn't gonna start another family in my 50s with some Nancy nature 50 years of science denier. Met a gal who bought $50 a litre bottles of wolfberry juice and tool a teaspoon every morning swearing how good that was. Could have doubled the anti-oxidants with a couple blueberries on her cornflakes. Put up with a Vegan daughter, but I always make tiny bleating noises eating lamb chops in front of her or hold a steak knife up and make tiny "no, no! help me - help me" (from the original The Fly) waving it at meat. DDT, asbestos and Thalidomide were over 60 years ago, but keep denying to yourself that human society can learn dick shit. Stand up and fight for the rights of the very corporations that flogged them on us.1 point

They bounce because governments eventually act like they have a mandate to do things they were never elected to do. When governments bend over backwards to be inclusive and have it do the opposite, people push back. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a real centrist party any longer, the Liberals and the old PC's were both closer to the centre than the present Liberals and CPC.1 point

The Grand Jury thought otherwise. How would YOU KNOW? Have you even read the indictments? They are quite detailed. Maybe you could detail the charges for which there is NOT strong EVIDENCE, but I doubt it. Jack Smith has been very careful to make a strong case, like most all Federal prosecutors. That's why they have a 95% conviction record. BTW, you didn't answer my question:1 point

How do you pardon someone who has yet to be found guilty of anything? If you need a pardon, the logical assumption is that you are guilty.1 point

Ohhhh look at you, sealioning again It's all right above little guy, everyone can see it and knows you screwed up But what the heck - just for fun... Because you certainly look stupid But hey - if you'd like to keep playing, why not quote where i claim he said the french and british weren't white Honestly, you used to be better at this kind of thing. Now it's just kind of sad to watch you flop around. Thanks for the giggle, have fun at school today1 point
