The media has always been there to hold government accountable. But when they begin to lie, in order to sell a narrative, they are no longer news media and do not deserve my funding.2 points
-
But you see simply doing that MAKES you a 'denier' under the law Unless you're saying the number should be higher, that's fine. And this is a major problem right now. Anyone even questioning elements of "doctrine" may be found to be guilty of 'hate speech", regardless of facts. For example - if you say "according to the records the vast vast majority of children who died in residential schools did so from tuberculosis which was also killing people on the reserves at about the same rate", you would be saying something that is factually defensible and likely true. And - it would NOT be saying that the residential schools were a good thing or that the first nations didn't suffer there or anything like that. It would simply be pointing out that the children didn't die of some sort of abuse. But - you will be called a genocide denier and the ndp is currently proposing a law to make that hate speech punishable under criminal law. People should be free to point out the truths, or have their own ideas or own interpretations of the facts without fear. Even if it upsets some people.2 points

When is it we are going to wake up from this nightmare we call this liberal government. It seems China keeps coming back to haunt this government, if just half of what we hear is true we are in trouble... Is this normal behavior and when are liberal voters going to do something, instead of dismiss it.1 point

So how does bringing up the bad behaviour of the victim's ancestors mitigate our ancestor's bad behaviour? Unpack that for me please. Of all the reasons to eschew reconciliation this reason in particular seems the most retarded, especially in light of our awareness that doing unto others as we'd have them do unto us is the appropriate course of action in virtually every other circumstance. I sat in on a few treaty talks and I don't recall anyone ever using whataboutism as a reason to dial back reconciliation.1 point

Why waste your time with people so screwed in the head they equate birth control with genocide. And block headed enough not to distinguish criticism of a state's policy with racism.1 point

I’m all for justice, but the reason people feel cynical about the current obsession with race, colonialism, and narratives of oppression is because we all know in our heart of hearts that people generally did the best they could with the knowledge they had and that none of the identity groups flagged as victims worthy of special treatment were on aggregate any better than the whites or colonialists in their treatment of each other and other identity groups. Indigenous kept more slaves in Canada than the European settlers. They warred and invaded each other’s “territories” and property meant something quite different for most Indigenous groups living hundreds of years ago than it does today. Much of the dispute about land claims and compensation relate to settler notions of property and money, and most settlers were simply seeking better lives without considering impacts on Indigenous that happened incrementally in Canada, as there were very few battles or attacks by settlers on Indigenous in Canada. There might have been more Indigenous attacks on settlers. No one was innocent. Much of the residential school push early on was by progressives who believed they were helping by providing literacy and opportunities. Was it misguided? Well, everyone has biases and people saw things very differently a century and a half ago. There was no systematic attempt to kill Indigenous That narrative is a lie. With regard to Black slaves in Canada, there were probably under a 1000 in total over the 200 years leading up to when slavery was banned in the British Empire in 1834 Canada wasn’t founded until 1867. We don’t have to get into the fact that blacks traded blacks in the slave trade. So, how much do you want to make stories of oppression and systemic racism the centrepiece of the Canadian story? How helpful is it? When is justice served? Who today deserves extra stuff based on race or ethnicity and who should give it? It’s unhealthy and infantilizing to treat groups as victims who need special treatment, but it’s the main narrative today pushed by government and media. Does anyone honestly think that a government leader is going to eventually say, “Okay, enough on this subject, groups that got a raw deal have gotten enough”? Do you think everyone will accept such a judgment? No, the victim narrative will continue. Our federal government uses it for political gain by claiming to be the servers of justice and giving handouts, maintaining the unhealthy dependence. It’s much healthier to instil independence and confidence in people so that they chart their own course. The Liberal/Democrat oppression narrative and the culture of dependency/victimhood are two sides of the same coin. Can’t have one without the other. Individual acts of injustice must always be addressed and any racist codes/laws/systemic racism must be eliminated. If you want to improve attitudes and health for all, emphasize that we are all human and everyone is individually accountable and judged on their own merit. It’s what you do with what you have that counts.1 point

You don't have to "tell me" what you said. It's been quoted multiple times. This is what you wrote. "The FBI had Hunter's laptop in their possession for 11 months before they released a statement in Oct 2020, one month before the presidential election, saying that the laptop story was Russian disinformation. They knew for a fact that it was not Russian D because, like I said, they had it for almost a year themselves. So they LIED." ^^That's your lie. Again, pure nonsense. It's not the FBI's job to police speculation (from either side) about stories in the NY Post. They are also not required or expected to refute the existence of Bat Boy. They made a concerted effort to avoid influencing this election based on lessons learned in 2016. Retired professionals are "lackeys" and the FBI is responsible for them? Again, GTFO. Neither Clapper nor Brennan ever even worked for the FBI. And they're probably both Republicans. I'm not sure if either are on record both got their first political appointments from Republicans. Hell, Clapper joined both Bush administrations and was hand-picked by Gates (another Bush appointee) for the DNI job in the Obama admin.1 point

I think the fact that I specifically brought up the Gospels should answer that question. There is no written record or mention of the Gospels until 180 AD, by Iraneus in Southern France. That's literally the first recorded reference to these texts, and they weren't even called the Gospels at the time. They were written long after Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were dead, though they certainly may have been inspired by these men and their teachings.1 point

I would not invoke the Bible as historical evidence, that would be the nonsensical thing in terms of sense, the Egyptian origins of Christianity can be gleaned by archaeology and logical extrapolation the Jews who flee to Egypt do not believe in a Christ nor resurrection historical evidence points to the Egyptians as being the ones who believed in a Christ and resurrection this then crosses back over the Red Sea, where it becomes a Roman religion1 point

according to scholars the earliest Psalms in the Bible were written in 5th century BC by the Jews in Egypt, in Demotic which again, is an Egyptian language it was an Egyptian world before it was a Greek world, everything Biblical originates in Egypt bear in mind, the Hebrews were forced to flee from Canaan by the Babylonians wherein they fled to Egypt and became Egyptians Moses after all, was the Prince of Egypt, brother of the Pharaoh Christianity is a Roman religion, originating in Egypt the Hebrews really have little to do with it, since they in fact reject it as heresy everything Jesus asserts to be true, comes from Egypt, by the parting of the Red Sea Pharaoh to Moses to Jesus the Romans then convert to this Egyptian religion the Jews want nothing to do with it, they mark Jesus as a troublemaker and call for His execution Pontius Pilates doesn't even want to do it, he knows Jesus will become a martyr it is the Hebrews who insist that Jesus be executed, for His heretical Egyptian faith the Hebrews who went to Egypt; found a new religion there when they came home to Judea, they were rejected by their own, as being foreign: Egyptian it all starts in Egypt written in Egyptian, which is why the Aramaic Jews didn't adopt it the Romans however, did not have the same baggage the Emperor might have been threatened by Jesus, Tiberius Caesar being a soulless monster but the rank & file Romans quickly started to come around to this God of love & forgiveness the Pagan gods were so feckless and cruel and indifferent while this God of Gods from Egypt offered new meaning to life maybe it wasn't all about killing & enslaving & conquering maybe there was something more to life than that it did take the Romans 280 years to utterly convert to Egyptian monotheism that's really not very long tho, much shorter than the lifespan of Canada ( 1603 - 2023 ) this idea of resurrection, that is Egyptian too what Jesus did, was bring it to the masses not just the Pharaoh will live forever, you will live forever too every man is Pharaoh, every single man is equally sacred : event horizon, lift off, go at throttle up whether you believe or not, this one idea has led us to the greatest of all civilizations I simply give the Egyptians their due clearly God was working through them, Egypt is where God chose to make His move as without Pharaoh there is no Moses, without Moses, Jesus has no flock it all fits together, vertically integrated, on the banks of the Red Sea you run to the banks of your Red Sea, and pray for a miracle then Jesus of Nazareth comes that's how it works it's not in a book : it is real world effects in real time the ancient Romans were not naive, they were brutally cynical, ferociously pragmatic far more than we are now, the ancient Romans would have killed you for looking at them funny they were like the mafia, if you showed any weakness, you were dead, no mercy, no quarter yet this supernatural force overwhelmed them, they were swept away by it even the Emperor was forced to kneel in the face of salvation by forgiveness love thine enemies, no fears on earth, that is power, ultimate power1 point

I think quotas was baked in. But I do think, based on other country's that have released unredacted contracts, that governments knew there were no promises of "safety" or "efficacy" because that was openly NOT promised in contracts. I do wonder if any government asked to see the trial documents before signing. I doubt it. Tam certainly never demanded to see them. They had to be FOIA'ed by civilians. If any government or chief health officer of any country had asked to see the trials, I don't know if Pfizer would have given them up or not, they fought like hell to not have them released for 75 years. It was only the courts that forced them to cough them up. Once they were released, it was obvious why Pfizer wanted them hidden. More people in the vaccine arm died and more people in the vaccine arm got infected. Efficacy was far below what was publicly announced and obviously - safety couldn't even possibly be evaluated when the trials were only like 8 weeks long. Pfizer knew this when the contracts were signed, I think that's why they put in the contracts that there were no guarantees on safety or efficacy. Both governments and Pharma deliberately lied to the public. I do believe Trudeau profits from the jabs. It's the only thing that answers why our covid response and vaccine mandates were some of the harshest in the world, second only to China. If Trudeau could have gotten away with China-style responses, I truly believe he would have. The only thing that saved the Canadian people from also being welded into our houses to starve was.....the conspiracy theorists.1 point

There's a difference between Truckers condemning the government vs this twat condemning the entire country and its legitimacy. And I don't like Black history month (in Canada) because its nothing but a performative virtue-signaling tribute to the American culture wars. It makes no sense to have such a thing here. I don't think, given her parents came from Jamaica and lived in the Jane/Finch area of Toronto, that free trade was responsible for their poverty. Immigrants should feel free to criticize something the government is doing. Condemning the existence of Canada as a state is something entirely different. If you don't believe Canada should even exist then why are you here?1 point

Well i only responded to your statement about him being subsidized, but if you're asking me to weigh in on other matters.... regardless of how it is earned a pension is private money. Whether the pension came from a public or private employer is of no consequence. It's like buying a house - whether the gov't built your house or a contractor did makes no difference, is YOUR house now. It's got nothing to do with how you conduct yourself in public, you already own it However - if you are taking money and getting paid and you create a platform as a result of that employment and then use that platform to attack your employer..... yeah that's a very different issue. If you want to create and use a platform to spread a political message or attack someone then really you should not be taking public money to do that (unless of course that's what the public job is. I mean - otherwise we couldn't have an official opposition ) There are a lot of nuances there which i'm skipping, and it is important to remember there's a difference between criticizing a gov't policy and the country as a whole. But in a nutshell, there you go For the election? We've been over that. That's like saying that "there's only one source of money so we're ALL subsidized by the gov't." That would be what experts refer to as a "steaming pile" A tax write off isn't a subsidy. Receiving a govt service like health care isn't a personal subsidy. Having an armed forces to protect us isn' t a subsidy. You can't just call something a subsidy because it involves "gov't money" somehow. We pay for political parties to participate in elections because we want to eliminate the power of money from controlling elections. That's a chocie we make to protect ourselves as voters, not a subsidy to others. And if doorknob manages to ever win a seat and gets paid by the people, even then he will be hired specifically to crtisize the gov't, so that's a little different. However - if he used is political posiiton to advertize and sell coca-cola.... that would be really bad. And we all get that - but somehow the idea of a person selling an agenda that's not part of their job by using the stage their gov't funded empoyment gave them DOESN"T seem problematic to you?1 point
-
That would be bad enough but unfortunately i think it's worse. I think they have now gotten to the point where they are completely rogue and will pursue whatever left wing agenda is in their heads. If they'd rather see the liberals in power - then they deliberately organize their publications in such a way as to support that. IF they don't like the convoy as many on the left didn't, then they deliberately lie and print false information in order to vilify it. If for some reason the decided they didn't like trudeau then they would be slanting the news to get rid of him. We've seen their recent completely unsubstantiated attack on danielle smith. They are a power unto themselves. They believe they are entitled to their money and nobody can stop them. They don't just report events - they want to control them. They want to be a political power within the country with no master. They have to go1 point

It was ONLY "clearly" when Trump made up that excuse several days LATER. NO ONE was laughing when he said that, LEAST OF ALL Trump. He confirmed that he REALLY WANTED to SEE Hillary's emails in a FOLLOW UP QUESTION from Katy Tur. Trump cult members are truly gullible to believe ANYTHING Trump says. ㊙️ publicly admitted crimes are STILL crimes. How do YOU KNOW "it wasn't true"? Do you know how hard it is to prove a negative? The Republican led Senate Intelligence Committee Report DETAILED how and when Manafort colluded with Russian agent Kilimnik AND how HE shared that data with the Mueller indicted IRA. You should watch the video, i think it will explain your confusion, CSIS warned the PMO office and the trade minister that the former liberal MP Chan was on a watch list and was tied to a Chinese spy net work. And despite all of this she continued to have Chan guide her election Campaign... The liberal party have already had mud thrown in their face by failing to properly vet former minister Chan, and it was the same party that had no issues with chan holding a key position in a election campaign as they took no action to stop this...Lack of good judgement by the trade minister and the entire upper chain of command of the liberal party...
