  1. Let's not twist facts make shit up. The Pope called it like it was, and he sure as hell didn't turn tables on Trudeau who's called such that for years. Genocide does not require all the way to the point of marching people into showers and Krupp ovens. And yes. I was schooled that these residential schools were 'just like' the Catholic schools friends went to and at worst private academies rich parents sent their kids to. It decades tor reveal they actually did pry the kids away. they didn't even get to come home for holidays and their culture was actively extinguished. Not one cousin got beaten in Catholic school for speaking Italian among themselves. It was a blight on our history and a national shame. And AFIC any attempt to belittle it's effects makes a person as deplorable as a Holocaust denier. I live in the North among these people and I can see the lasting effects among survivors and some of the children. I was once told by a local Chief that if he hadn't learned what he did in Residential school, he would never have got the skill to be politically active and become Chief, but at the same time there's no excuse at all for what he endured to get that education.

  3. And yet, Dougie93, Canada is among the most civilised societies in the world. Unlike Iceland and Japan, we accept new immigrants. Unlike England and Saudi Arabia, Canada's Head of State has no official religion. Unlike Argentina, Canada's banks are reliable. And unlike Scandinavians, Canadians make foreigners feel at home. ==== Yet unlike the US, we've never had a civil war. Despite Canada's religious/language divides, we've avoided sectarian/communal violence: -unlike Sri Lanka -unlike England/Ireland -unlike Russia/Ukraine

  4. From Wikipedia: Cultural genocide or cultural cleansing is a concept which was proposed by lawyer Raphael Lemkin in 1944 as a component of genocide.[1] Though the precise definition of cultural genocide remains contested, the Armenian Genocide Museum defines it as "acts and measures undertaken to destroy nations' or ethnic groups' culture through spiritual, national, and cultural destruction."[2] That is what Canada attempted with indigenous peoples. It was a deliberate and determined attempt to eliminate them by eliminating their culture - essentially turn them into brown white people. A quote from Sir John A. Macdonald,– was to 'take the Indian out of the child,' makes the intent clear.

  5. The Pope said the residential school system was a genocide. The word genocide is defined as follows: quote gen·o·cide [ˈjenəˌsīd] NOUN the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group: "a campaign of genocide" · [more] synonyms: racial killing · massacre · wholesale slaughter · mass slaughter · wholesale killing · indiscriminate killing · mass murder · mass homicide · mass destruction · annihilation · extermination · elimination · liquidation · eradication · decimation · [more] unquote He is obviously using the word for political purposes but in doing so is spreading a harmful lie to the world. There was no massacre, racial killing, or slaughter. Many native children were badly abused, sexually, physically and mentally. Many died from diseases. But they were not deliberately slaughtered or massacred as the word genocide clearly means. This shameful terminology is being used by the leader of the world's largest nominal church. Many simply throw the word out and say genocide took place in residential schools. This is completely false and a lie. This will simply give more ammunition to the extremists and radicals to demand more and falsely accuse Canada of crimes against humanity, similar to war crimes or the holocaust, which never occurred.

  9. I was trained by the best small army in the world to be a world class tactical shooter both with the FN FAL & AR to include conserving ammunition, making every shot count single aimed shots, one shot, one kill you have way more time than a novice would think the only purpose of rapid fire is supression if you have the targets at your mercy, no need for that slow is smooth, smooth is fast so if you hand me a Lee Enfield it really makes no difference

  10. Many accurate long rifles available now, and ammunition manufacturers have finally realized that precision/consistent ammo is a must for hunters. Regularly take moose and elk at 400+yds. using my handloads. Model 70 Winchester(s) are a personal favorite. On big bears, short range is the best with a competent shooter. Have had clients that freeze up in the close-up ranges with dangerous game. That's fine, we just back out of the situation with no shots fired. A competent rifleman can shoot, cycle and be on target again with a slick 'kicker' bolt action long gun in seconds. Off hand shooting separates the riflemen from the plinkers . . .

  11. this is how it works Marx was the theorist Marx was the demagogue against Western Civilization then Lenin comes along and says there has to be a "Revolutionary Vanguard" of elites to found the Communist Utopia that is the Canadian left down to a tee they are attacking Western Civilization itself following their Revolutionary Vanguard of Academic elites

  12. Kinda sounds like what leftists are engaging in now with their various codes of conduct policy to target Christians and white people. All this cancel culture bs is more of the same from the Liberals who were responsible for decades of abuse of aboriginal children... the Liberal ideology is a disease

  15. growing up in Canada, I never felt any fear of the Canadian government, nor the Ontario government I was a Liberal then, Pierre Trudeau was an heroic figure Bill Davis was the best Premier I have never been charged with an offence, never arrested for a criminal offence I even trusted my chain of command in the armed forces my CO, my RSM, I truly looked up to them, I emulated them but I really do fear Canada now this is like an Orwellian dystopic Canada out of a dark science fiction future

  16. Do we pay too much for dairy or do we just pay a price that reflects the cost of production? I you go to Southern California and see some of their mega dairy farms with thousands of cattle standing out in the sun in dirt paddocks with a few roofs here and there to give them a little shade. Contrast that with the average Canadian farm which is smaller and family owned and where the cows have to be protected from Canadian winters and the other extra costs of operating in such a climate. Do you still pay too much? Consider also that those smaller family owned farms contribute a lot more to their local economies because all their goods and services are obtained from other local businesses.

  17. they are not empowered to beat people up on the street for any reason the level of violence employed by the police was criminal you can't violently assault protesters for refusing to stop protesting

  18. you cant read the riot act and sic the RCMP tactical teams on protesters for violating a bylaw

  19. exactly which is why declaring this to be an "illegal protest" warranting the Emergencies act is authoritarian like Russia or China

  20. I believe that protesters have the right to impede the government, to bring it to a stand still if not, there would be no Civil Rights Act if not, South Africa would still be ruled by Apartheid the whole point of protests is to bring things to a halt otherwise, they have no effect the idea that the only thing you're allowed to do is wave a placard where and when the government allows you to ? that is not a free country, that is an authoritarian state like Russia or China

  23. while there have been claims of mass graves, have there in fact been any remains uncovered I know that there have been things found by ground penetrating radar but, have any bones been dug up? What about the records? They have been asked for yet there has been no talk of whether they were provided or what was in them. I have no doubt that children dies whilst in the residential schools, that would naturally have occurred but, many accusations and many claims and the responses and evidence is still sort of obscure.

  25. I mis-worded that or did not make it clear it appears. I'm saying there was no holocaust of aboriginals, no genocide in residential schools. The holocaust did occur under Hitler in WW2 and it was a real genocide of the Jews. Will try to correct my wording on that.

  26. Thought I read they put him in prison with a guy who was known to be dangerous as a cell mate. Once the prisoners found out who he was and why he was there, they were amazed. They couldn't understand what he was doing there. Prisoners respected him. No one gave him a hard time, but the guards practically tortured him. Many came to him for guidance and prayer.By the time he left he was a hero there. I kid you not. Canadian pastor alleges mistreatment in prison

  27. I used the same word in the same context when we were discussing the mass graves found near Kamloops a year or so ago. And back then you again disagreed and posted definitions. I don't know what you believe, but I know I was right in what I said back then and similarly the Pope is right. Time for you to suck it up.

  28. I don't do the self righteous self congratulatory Canadian thing Canadians are not so civilized the government is a totalitarian tyranny which beats peaceful protesters down in the streets the constitution is totally ignored, and Canada is being run by cult of the personality same as it is in Russia Canadians are divided into two ideological camps which hate each other with a passion same as it is in America if Canada wasn't propped up and defended by the Americans, it would collapse into chaos and nobody in the world can actually tell the difference between Americans & Canadians because there isn't any difference anymore, Canada is part of the American monoculture

  30. I don't disagree with your description about what was done with many of them, but that still does not justify the use of the word genocide which clearly means a massacre or mass killings. The word genocide is being used incorrectly in this case and is therefore a lie. You cannot use the word cultural with genocide and pretend it has a different meaning than what the word genocide actually means. The words cultural and genocide simply do not go together because the word genocide has a specific meaning. Many people misunderstand the term cultural genocide and have actually believed there was some kind of mass murder of aboriginal children. They point to the reports of unmarked graves as proof of genocide. That is dishonest.

  31. They absolutely make this up. They do it by picking and choosing who they cite as champions of science and who they shrug off as total losers. From the very beginning the MSM played up the danger of covid to young people. They ran stories like "A healthy 59-yr-old man in England died of covid!" They never say that covid almost exclusively kills people who were within an inch of death until they talk about vaxed-deaths, then they suddenly know all about it. Stories of vaccines side-effects have been ignored completely. When I talk about people I know who suffered side-effects here people act like I'm blaspheming. Stories of vax-efficacy have been hailed as "AN AMAZING SUCCESS!" People won't look at stats showing vaxed-deaths. We've told you all of these things a hundred times MH. You chose to keep your head in the sand.

  32. In the past, it was religion. Now, it is "culture". I was recently in New Hampshire. When in a Starbucks in Concord, I looked around and knew almost everyone voted Democrat. When in the State Park, I looked around and knew almost every fellow camper not driving a Subaru voted Republican. (Does NH have conceal carry?) Canada? We are a country where many Starbucks/Mac owners vote Harper/Bernier. But many Pick-up owners vote Trudeau. Why is Canada like this? I reckon that - because of language and religion in families - we understand that we have to get along.

  33. I don't mean it as a criticism but both the truckers & veterans4freedom were naive I wouldn't have preferred them to be cynical if they had been cynical, I wouldn't have supported them but they really thought that this is Canada and Canada is not like America they really thought that Canada was still a kinder gentler society than America but it's not really anymore the Liberals & corporate media revealed the true nature of Canada now it's just as cruel & ruthless in Canada as it is in America now Canada copies the Americans exactly now, it just copies the Democrat Party faction in America

  34. I think it was more of an effort to bring indigenous people into modern society. Was harm done along the way? Yes of course but to my mind genocide brings up images of Nazi Germany and concentration camps and crematoriums. There have been other attempts at genocide as well but trying to educate people in schools is something different. I've heard stories from old timers around here about how strict the schools were back then, nothing like today.

  36. You’re probably right. In terms of Machiavellian Realpolitik I believe you keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Send Charest on international ribbon cutting nonsense as Minister of International Affairs but meanwhile the PMO can pull Canada out of international obligations and kick members of the WEF and other totalitarian global elitist organizations out of caucus. Basically give the milquetoasts make-work projects while the serious people govern.
