Oh yeah. Trudeau already said you can protest so long as he agrees with you. True tyrant that guy. Seem to just make stuff up now. Like carrying a Jerry can is now a criminal offense3 points

Has he held a job other than “politician”? I understand from Conservatives that Trudeau is inexperienced and never held a “real job”. Why would that be an important factor for Trudeau, but not for PP?2 points

I seem to recall that one of the many players involved in putting pressure on JWR said that he or she could easily tell friends in the media to write favourable opinions in order to help the Liberals get this deal for SNC. If you give the media hundreds of millions of dollars to keep them afloat it's clear they can be called on as needed to help the Liberal government. In other news, the suspect in the Winnipeg attack on that convoy apparently is an Antifa supporter, no surprise there. The CBC does mention the suspect's name but makes no mention of his ties to Antifa, no surprise there either. Wow. It's insane to think that's the narrative that our PM and MSM are pushing about the freedom convoy, while they all supported the BLM riots and act like they were peaceful. It's stupidity on steroids.2 points

Clearly I do though and much better than you. But you do get to refer to things the very same way without needing to substantiate them? You're dreaming. Follow your own advice. I'm not making a misguided accusation I'm accusing you of hypocrisy as evidenced by your own verbatim words. Nothing in between the lines, no talking points from CNN or blueanaon. Just you, unplugged. What about the link I provided that underscores the unmitigated hypocrisy you've put up for examination? No, I'm simply not accepting 'your word'. I expect people to see the evidence of why it shouldn't be accepted and perhaps ask themselves if you're someone they can support. Maybe it was the common knowledge that penetrating your denial would require the length of time it will take to erode Mt Everest back down to sea level. Yeah well you seem to be setting the standard. I wasn't addressing the freedom convoy, I'm addressing your refusal to supply cites while demanding them. That's not an ad hominem, that's a fact. But I have Padawan. Ad hominem2 points

We have never been given context for these daily death numbers we have been bombarded with every 15 minutes for the last 2 years. Here is some for you: Each day, about 150,000 people die world-wide. 48,700 are from cardiovascular disease 26,200 of those deaths are from cancer 10,700 of those deaths are from respiratory diseases 7,000 are from upper respiratory infections, such as the flu 6,900 from dementia 3,600 from liver diseases 3,400 from road injuries At the time that covid was declared a pandemic, there were 4,500 deaths daily. At its peak, there were 7,500 deaths daily. Stop ingesting the panic porn. Find out how many people normally die each day in Ontario. You are being fed numbers with no context.2 points

Here’s your real world: The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is null and void. If you carry a digital vaccine passport, the state will allow you certain freedoms. If you don’t, your freedoms are severely reduced, including the right to work in a number of fields. This is Canada right now. Protests are underway to try to restore our constitutional rights that you don’t support. By the way, if you support the protests you’re a radical freak and you will be removed from the legislatures where your protests can be heard. Canada is a digital totalitarian state. Some people are trying to protest and the government is moving against them without so much as a debate or discussion. I hope you’re proud of your government and that you feel safe.2 points

It was reported in the media that Trump had some harsh words about Trudeau lately and threw his support behind the convoys and occupation of Ottawa. A lot of the money donated to Go Fund Me for this came from anonymous foreign sources, some of which were donations over $30,000. Could this money be coming from American Trumpsters? Your blind faith in all things pharmaceutical demonstrates why we’re in this mess. Yes vaccination is a protection, but the fourth vaccinations in Israel are a dud. The Nazi flag guy was likely a local by what I observed. Perhaps a plant as he disappeared into an apartment before he could get the ever-luvin' crap beat out of him. And they were out to find him. He was actually not at the protest but further down one of the main streets. Rebel flag guy had a modified Army of Northern Virginia flag with a truck plastered across it. He was ejected from the protest by attendees. He lasted like...a minute. Not sure if he just ditched the flag...but he was seen leaving.1 point

I care too. Do you have kids? I have 4 grandkids, two are school age. They all seem to be fine, I'm not hearing reports from family or friends in my circle and herabouts regarding insurmountable psychological issues or problems with their kids. I think media reports may be a little over the top but that's to be expected, it's controversial, it's scary and has other newsworthy qualities that serve the media's needs. I think I can safely use my own experience and what I see on the ground to adjust my inbound information filters to account for that. I just don't think its doing as much damage as some would like us to believe. It's like the stories about hunger due to bare shelves and food shortages due to supply chains and protests. I don't see starving emaciated shoppers pushing empty carts around the grocery stores everywhere I go and I have plenty of food to keep me happy. I admit I nearly melted down when I couldn't find my favourite ice cream the other day...thankfully I'll be seeing my psychiatrist later this week.1 point

It means 2 things actually. 1. In Ontario, 56 residents...I hope they were residents...reportedly passed away WHILE TESTING POSITIVE FOR COVID-19. Did they all pass away BECAUSE of Covid-19? That is unknown because we've already found out that the death toll is bloated with people who got hit by a car and had The Rona, people who died of old age and had The Rona, ANYONE who dies in Ontario and has The Rona, qualifies as a "Covid-19 death". 2. It means that, even with these obviously fuzzy stats, we can say that 0.0004% of the Ontario population passed away and that it is claimed they all passed away as a DIRECT result of...Covid-19. Statistically, I think that qualifies as zero. I wonder what the age breakdown for those unfortunate 56 was? Mostly over 75? Or what condition they were each in at the time of death? Did they have another ailment? WHAT REALLY KILLED THEM EACH? The vast majority of Canucks are vaxxed. Hell I'm double-jabbed. But there are a goodly number of Canucks who are leery...for whatever reason and it's not like they haven't a good reason for doubting 'the powers that be'...of this "experimental for emergency use only" vaccine. There are also a rather sizable swath of Canucks...like me...who don't like the idea of the government telling us we must get jabbed by this "experimental for emergency use only" vaccine. That's NOT what Canada is.! It's what these 'powers that be' would like us to be. But I ain't buyin' it, and millions upon millions feel exactly the same way. I've been watching the news and the numbers, as I'm sure you have. When I first heard about it all and the initial lockdown happened, I thought, 'OK...this is new and I do remember SARS, so let's do our part and give some time to evaluate the situation.' I also decided then, that I was NOT gonna let myself fall for all the "fear porn" that I was already hearing back then. "OH MY GAWD...WE ALL GONNA DIIIEEE!" Ya...thanks but no thanks. We have known since about the Spring of 2021...if you bothered to follow ALL of the sciences...that our reaction was a little "ham-handed". We identified the ones at most risk, realized those stupid gawd-forsaken masks did more damage than good, that the media and the various governmental bureaucracies had filled us with some pretty overly slanted and frightening information, and that the raw numbers simply did not really warrant the drastic measures imposed on business. The risk for humans under the age of 65 was negligible and to children...statistically ZERO! Yet we, in a mad panic...created by the tone and presentation of warped facts by our media and others...are masking kids and giving them an "experimental for emergency use only" vaccine. Every time I think of this, I hear that old April Wine song playing in my head. "The whole world's goin' crazy. Crazy crazy crazy craaazy. Hey baby, ya wanna go crazy with meee?" Please stop being crazy. Most of the sciences have disagreed with these measures all along. Now the medical sciences are beginning to crack...and why? The numbers and the actual FACTS, just don't warrant this.!1 point

Come along to what ? Believing in protest ? I always have. I think it's the Western Separatists who are coming along, and nicely too. For the rest of us, we are learning about what principles are acceptable to the Wesit types in terms of civil disobedience: -Foreign funding to support domestic unrest - OK WITH THE WEXIT PEOPLE NOW -Shutting down Canada's capital for ten days - OK WITH THE WEXIT PEOPLE NOW -Objectionable content and symbols on signs, poor behaviour and crimes - WEXIT PEOPLE SAY IT DOESN'T REFLECT ON THE MOVEMENT These are all great principles for us to establish for civil disobedience, and we can remember these principles next time theres an anti-racism, first nations or climate change protest. If you search, I have never said anything to say that the protest is invalid due to those aspects. I am more focussed on... the lack of a clear message, and strategies. Unless it was really about Western conservatives trying to get o"Toole out. If that was the real agenda, well colour me impressed. ---- But it's pretty clear that those three principles above can't be opposed by the Convoy supporters i in the future. Principles. They matter. Act as you speak.1 point

Oh bull. The protesters have no legitimate claim to power in this country. Aristides believed in democracy and rule of the electors determined by ballots, even when it meant his own exile. He even showed someone how to vote when he knew that person wanted to vote for his exile. The last thing he believed in was mob rule.1 point

No you weren't. Not even close. You're %100 wrong. No I didn't. I'm not aware of any evidence you even know what ad hominem means. Thye topic at hand as usual is the debating style and forum etiquette in use or not. I did, it's a fact you have the audacity to snottily refuse to supply cites when asked and then impatiently snap your fingers when demanding them of others. That's called being a hypocrite and you responded to MH's comment about a mob of hypocrites so....yeah, I'm definitely on topic.1 point

Lets face it, the government can't cave and let a bunch of protesters become a de facto unelected government so this will have to be brought to an end. The best protesters can hope for is that government now understands there is a lot of unrest and they should take that into consideration with their future policies. The protesters are dreaming if they think vaccine mandates will disappear. With 90% of the population vaccinated, governments will not kowtow to the remaining 10%.1 point

Yes the logic is very simple. As you enter or walk to your table it is likely that you may come in close distance of less than 2m determine by experts as safe distance for respiratory diseases. But once you sit down then your position is fixed not changing or dynamic and tables are set such that you are at least 2m away from closest table.1 point

The convoy represents a massive national and worldwide opposition to the arbitrary and unwarranted suspension of rights and freedoms. In Canada these are enshrined in our Charter. In the US they’re in the Bill of Rights. Some will try to politicize, but all democratic parties should protect constitutional rights from government overreach.1 point
