Quebec brings fuck-all to the picnic, eats everyone else's sandwiches, then whines and bitches about it. Sad thing is, the rest of the picnic goers listen to the whining and bitching, and promise to bring more/better sandwiches. Nutshell: This country's fucked if Quebec's involved. Take the medicine, and shit this parasitic tapeworm out.4 points

Why can they not both be accommodated? Why must we be forced to choose who lives and who will be let to die? While the wards are dark and empty, and the surgeon stayed home. It is an absurd choice to make, one that need not be made by a civilized society, not one as wealthy as ours. Yet rather than come up with solutions to alleviate the burden on hospitals, we collapse our society instead. Then give away billions that could have been used in much better ways to help defeat covid and save lives. So tell you what, tell you what. You people carry on with your marxism and your redefined scientific things. It just further proves what has always been abundantly clear, we are on a lost ship of fools.3 points

That's interesting. We are bombarded daily with "covid data" and it is still too soon to draw conclusions. The issue of infection rate is so complex. I believe that those nations that tried to suppress infection by being restrictive and going into shutdown might have prolonged the outbreak and increased the number of waves. By staying indoors, the immune system is not given a chance to develop an antibody response. Then they got vaccinated. Those same overly-restrictive countries went further in vaccine enforcement than more permissive countries did. People who are not vaccinated may take greater care in avoiding exposures. People who are vaccinated may feel emboldened and go in large groups in indoor pubs, drink beers and eat steak and frites. The fools...2 points

Glad that you brought these issues forward. I have tried to raise them as well, but was dismissed as a fool. One poster called me a nazi, and some others expressed their approval of said name-calling. Well, excuse my french but look at you #%^*ers now.2 points

Again you're just lying. You keep on making the same stupid claim but you have never posted a link showing Trump had anything to do with Epstein since he got barred from Mar A Lago twenty years ago. https://covid19.ontariohealth.ca/ it says Modern web browser (the booking site is not compatible with Internet Explorer 11 or earlier). You damn idiots. If you design a website make it work for everyone not limited few hi-tech experts. Regardless the website doesn't work for me. It is stuck on certain date not moving saying 0 time slot left for that day. Damn Ontario government.1 point

Your math is incoherent. Something 30% less severe isn’t more deadly. Almost 100+% of the vulnerable population is fully vaccinated. Non vulnerable people are not going to die from a mild form of covid. I feel sorry for people that are so illogically frightened like you.1 point

I've certainly heard our health system is a disaster but my own experience seems to indicate otherwise. I was determinedly dragged back from death's door about 12 years ago following a sudden onset of illness, my cancer journey following my diagnosis this past July was fast-tracked and my surgery was 8 weeks ago. I was actually just down the hall from my wife where she was recovering from the surgery they'd scheduled for her in June. The alien in my chest (I was born with it) may now be finally stirring after all this time but they've been monitoring it faithfully for 10 years now so I'm pretty confident they're not about to waste that effort and let me die on a waiting list. That said perhaps there's a death panel with some economist on it frowning over how much I've already cost the system and they'll be putting me on the sort of wait list you're talking about. That would suck.1 point

If it wasn't for Fox News we wouldn't know that members of the FBI were charged with crimes for their illegal activity during the Russian collusion witch hunt. We wouldn't know that it was actually Hillary who colluded with Russians to influence the 2016 election. We wouldn't know that Dr Ford didn't name a location or a year that the alleged attack supposedly occurred, we'd all believe that Brionna was just an innocent girl laying in her bed when she got shot, we'd all think that Rayshard was just a bit tipsy and had a nap then got killed for no apparent reason, almost no Americans would have seen any of the G Floyd bodycam footage on TV, we'd think that K Rittenhouse carried a gun across state lines to hunt down protestors, we'd think that all of the BLM protests were peaceful, we wouldn't know that the Chazis killed a kid, we wouldn't know that the people at the Jan 6th mostly peaceful protest who were the guiltiest of all of committing the crime of sedition have never been charged because they were federal agents, we wouldn't know that people who handed out weapons at the Jan 6th mostly peaceful protest weren't charged because they were agents, etc. There are a lot of things that we wouldn't know, but to make a long story short, Americans would be just as stupid as Canadians are, politically. As Canadians we have some weird feeling of intellectual superiority over Americans but in truth it's the exact opposite. Leftist Canadians are, by far, the dumbest group of people on earth.1 point

i have been in favor for decades now to see Quebec separate and get lost. They have and always will be a burden on the rest of English Canada. French Quebec, and all of their french leaders that have become PM's from french Canada, has been responsible for all the many communist like programs and agendas that has pretty much turned the rest of Canada into a socialist country. The west would be far better off getting rid of Quebec and out of their hair and let us separate from the east. We would be a lot richer people and a lot better off if we separated from the eastern Marxists. Go, Quebec, Go. ?1 point

Look at this: Covid cases, Sweden. There's been no crying and jumping, folks!!!, hands in the air and pants on fire. Restaurants did not close. You can fly to nearby countries, and some airlines did not even require masks. What if, just to think of it, life is possible - only it's not a given, but a choice?1 point

I still can't help but chuckle when people ask where the seat belts are on the boat, especially after telling them not to inflate their life vests until they've left the cabin and have jumped into the water. That said there are times and places where the only solution is a strong authoritarian hand. Consider the case of an emergency on a boat at sea - do so in light of comparisons that can and have been made between a nation-state and a ship at sea. The next step along the path may be into catastrophe. The comparison or analogy seems to break down of course where the line is drawn between the captain and crew (the government) and their passengers (the governed). Before passengers board my vessel they are instructed to follow my orders and I reinforce that with a safety briefing delivered while projecting my best command presence (I've been working on my 'Voice' as well). In a nation state however the 'passengers' in addition to being encouraged to obey the law and be good citizens are also encouraged to question authority at times to the point of rebelliousness. Having been thru a number of emergencies at sea in my career I have a pretty good idea how tragic they could have been if everyone on board had decided not to be good passengers. Of course the analogy gets pretty stretched in a democracy where passengers can elect an alternative captain and crew if they don't like the one's in charge. Imagine doing that on a boat while the engine room is on fire. I get what you're saying about abusing the concept of public good to justify authoritarianism while also simply saying there are times when the concept is a valid one. Ultimately its up to the passengers to decide when that moment is upon them.1 point

What an idiot. You cited articles that just vaguely spanned 1991-2019 and a guy said that he flew "Trump and Clinton, more than once." Epstein "took a 14 yr old girl to meet Trump" in the '90s at Mar A Lago. Geez, then Epstein was banned from Mar A Lago. Again you've got nothing that links Trump to Epstein from later than the '90s, nothing that says he was a frequent flyer early on, nothing that says that he did anything with any underage girls, just a few innocuous things from the '90s farmed to look as bad as possible. You're either incredibly gullible and stupid or you're a determined liar but either way you still have nothing. Do you understand that Beave? And in either case you're just pathetic and sad.1 point

At that time years ago when the Taliban were forced out in Afghanistan, do you remember seeing the images of so many women thrilled to not be forced to wear the burka anymore? The burka was still present during those years but it wasn't as bad as under Taliban rule. Afghan Women Disappear Under Burqas Amid Taliban Advance (rferl.org) To be clear, the burka is the only so-called religious symbol that I would be happy to see banned. If I have to deal in person with any government official or even a cashier, I want to see their face. Masks for covid are something different as it's supposed to be for everyone's personal safety. Anyone in Mexico? Wife and I escaped the Purge. Met a bunch of anti-vax snowbirds in Puerto V. Hoping they shut the borders for Moron-i-con so that we can get another 6 months on our visa. If anyone else is curious, you can buy a house for 230k and you get citizenship... we are hoping it doesn't come to that but prepared to if necessary. BTW, no vaxx bs here, wife and I are hitting buffets and great restaurants everyday, wish I had done this a long time ago. Never thought I'd see the day I felt safer in Mexico than I did in Canada. What the hell are you talking about? How is a fully vaccinated traveller who gets a negative test result less safe than another Canadian non-traveller coming through your neighborhood? You and people with your totalitarian mentality are ruining this country. Go get your third dose and hide in your basement. Forms of Covid — Delta, Omicron, or some other variant — can come from anywhere. We’re probably better off having Omicron become the dominant variant instead of Delta. You’re so manipulated and naïve.1 point
-
So it looks like our government may go along with Dr. Tam’s idea that restricting Canadians from travelling, even vaccinated ones, is a good idea. Okay, it’s time to stop and question this. Most of our vulnerable population are fully vaccinated and the Omicron variant has milder symptoms than Delta. Those who don’t feel safe travelling can make the choice to stay home. Imposing additional restrictions on Canadian travellers is diabolical. They already have to show proof of vaccination AND negative test results upon entry to Canada using the ArriveCAN app that’s a total pain in the ass. Americans laugh at how our government hassles its own citizens. When I crossed into the US they asked for nothing but a passport. I think we need to start examining the international source of oppressive directives. I think it’s Beijing. In any event, our government needs to stop punishing its people for trying to have normal lives You pushed us to get vaccinated under threat of unemployment. Now almost all of us are vaxxed. You make us show vaccine passports to enjoy basic freedoms like eating in a restaurant. You continue to make us wear masks indoors, even if we’re vaccinated. Now you want to make Canadians take two sets of tests on return to Canada, one before arrival and one after? Oh and retuning travellers will be forced to quarantine. People who already made travel plans are screwed. They won’t get paid for missed work and they could lose their jobs. Thanks Trudeau for ruining the holidays. Fascists. Canada is losing freedom. Canadians are losing control of their destiny. https://apple.news/AJfe-ot2bQb-rN9ZvBmNIQg1 point

Trump partied with Epstein for decades and even out his way to brag to the press about their shared taste in women and to point out Epstein’s preference for women “on the younger side”. Epstein abused girls all over the world including NYC and Florida and other locations. All were locations Trump frequented. Trump knew full well what Epstein was up to. This is the guy who said "I don't even wait. And when you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. ... Grab 'em by the pussy. You can do anything”. No? Then if we're not being told we can get back to normal if we flatten the curve or wear a mask or lockdown or create papers to separate the compliant from the non-compliant, or get what they call "a vaccination" or a second one or a 3rd, 4th, 5th...and so on, then why are we doing it? I mean if government and big pharma can't fix this and the best they can offer is the possibility of adverse reactions to an experimental gene altering drug under an authoritarian state why are we pretending the smart play is still listening to them? Wouldn't you say they've had their chance and they blew it? Why can't I just take my Zinc and vitamin D, or Ivermectin or hydroxochloroquine or take my chances with natural immunity and just be left alone by Big Brother if that's what I want to do? It isn't like their vaccine is offering any real protection. But maybe some would still like to keep trying that too and risk the possibility of screwing up their immune system for life. But if that's what they choose why not let them?1 point

Actually, there is established science when it comes to viruses. They mutate, everyone knows that. Which is why so many doctors and scientists, epidemiologists and biologists were warning that mass vaccinations with a leaky vaccine would drive variants to evolve much more quickly. Sadly, in order to "sell" the vaccine, we have tossed that established science right out the window and it has cost people their lives.1 point

that's a strawman yet it's still closer to the mark than than the system is just following the science and the draconian crackdowns are helping the actual truth is the road to hell is paved with good intentions those shouting science the loudest know the least about it and think they are helping when they just make the problem worse out of ignorance and these are the people making the calls not actual experts who get railroaded by these captains of empathy at every turn the ones making the calls their feelings don't care about the facts anyone stating facts the contradict their feelings will be cancelled confirmation bias is a helluva drug1 point

the places with the least heavy handed approaches are having the best results and the places with the most heavy handed approaches are having the worst results also the places with the most heavy handed approaches do far more collateral damage than the places with the least heavy handed approaches the data shows that the little, if any help that draconian lockdowns and mandates do is vastly outweighed by the damage done by them but the politicians, public health officials and general public don't give a shit about the science especially those invoking it the most and the loudest that's just a bullshit justification that total rubes buy into it's all about instilling a false sense of security in general public being used to gain approval for more of the politicians and public health officials central planning schemes compliance over science the feigned altruism is simply a facade to assist the endemic corruption achieve their blatant power grabs1 point

How do they come by the standard of 30% less severe? If it actually means 30% weaker then your straight-line math doesn't work here. Just imagine if you gave 100 regularly drinking males 3 drinks each, in 1 hour during/after dinner, and when you performed that exact same experiment 1,000 times, you found that on average about 15 of them would be drunk. If you gave 400 regularly drinking males 2 drinks each, in 1 hour during/after dinner, would you expect there to be [.7 x 4 = 2.8 times as many] 42 people drunk? Not at all. There might be 20, 15, 1, or maybe even 0. The point is that there's a threshold that you need to cross to push people over the line and that's exactly how covid works. The analogy that I give is that if you're walking on the edge of your grave, covid gives you a nudge. Healthy people aren't picked up and carried to their graves like they would be with Ebola or something like that. Here's the deal: almost 66% of the people who died in Canada were among the 4% of us who are over 80 years old (18,239 deaths). There were less than 800 deaths among the ~23,000,000 Canadians under 50. That's 2.7% of the deaths in 60% of the population. Another way of looking at it is 23 times as many deaths in 1/14th the number of people. The correlation is in granite. If covid pushes with 30% less force it's not likely to push many people into their graves at all. Even with the original, stronger versions of covid, 94% of the Americans who died needed to have other co-morbidities in order for covid to be able to finish them. Take away 30% of the severity, what's left? People on palliative plus a handful of really unlucky outliers?0 points
