Do you hug trees too...

I've been cutting them down these days actually, took out a dozen or so that were getting too big around. A couple of danger trees amongst them that could have done some damage if they'd crashed down.

Now I have 3-4 cords of wood to cut up.

No need to spell out anything.

The topic is Carney Articulates The New World Order In Davos. I, and it seems many in the world, listened to his speech and agreed with what he had to say.

The discussion centres around what is happening today what to do today and how he articulated what the threats are today.

I realize you have an obsession with anti liberal, with non whites in Canada, with immigration,  with MAID, with drug use, with  birth control, with abortion, with bible thumpers et al but, the world is changing and Canada is hopefully changing with it.

I am not sure who you are calling "self righteous snobs ridiculing the traditions" but I am aware that traditions are a changing thing with every new generation making new traditions.

Not every custom is or should be a passing fashion.  Most traditions exist because they they are biologically effective.  Societies that maintain them thrive and reproduce themselves and societies that don’t fail.  Some (many?) of the social experiments of the past 60 years have engendered lifestyles and conditions that are self-defeating.  Technology has brought many benefits but it also brought us Frankenstein: We have to think about policies, media, and messaging in terms of how they shape they way people live.  I’m not even saying that there aren’t aspects of the green and woke revolutions that have been positive, but we’ve gone all in on ways of thinking about the world that aren’t serving Canada and much of the West well.  The proof is quite scientific: We aren’t reproducing ourselves.  In Canada we’ve even maligned our own cultures and walked away from defending them.  These are not unimportant issues.

Well that’s Trump’s biggest kernel of truth, that and the importance of hard power.

Not just that, we’re the youngest of the developed countries. We’re not facing a Canadian style collapse even if we closed our border and never import another batch for at least 40-50 years from now at current trend. Meaning we can still repopulate. Everyone else has crossed the biological age of no return.

Not sure what all the fuss is about regarding this speech. Carney takes some thinly veiled jabs at Trump and the US and of course most people love that.

Brian Lilley of The Sun makes a great point about that aspect of Carney's speech.

"Much of his speech was about the great power rivalry that is happening between the US, China and Russia. The problem is that he was highly critical in the Americans walking away from the international rules-based order while not acknowledging that China and Russia walked away from it years if not decades ago."

And now, Mark Carney is cozying up up to China, which of course gets a pass  when it comes to it's dismal human rights record.

Anti-Natalist. They have the opinion that more people bad for planet. Less people good for planet. Tells you what their priorities are. I reject that as heresy of the highest order, evil infact.

Well your demographic prospects are currently better than ours yes, but to my knowledge only Israel and to a lesser extent Hungary, Ireland, and Mexico have positive or close to positive birth rates in the West.

Israel is the exception yes but mind you they’re a country of 10 million after getting nearly wiped out 80 years ago. 10 million is not enough to make a significant difference in the decades to come, in the century to come sure. Mexico is declining at a faster rate now than the US actually. Mind you they’ve had a higher fertility rate because of the late adoption into NAFTA. But that stopped in the 1990s

Ah...you must be with the Cornucopian Quiverfull folks. They're as bat-shit crazy as it gets. Weaponized wombs and a Horn of Plenty? Yowza!

I mean don't get me wrong, I hold out hope for reaching the Technological Singularity and everything will be right as rain too but I also have the feeling it'll be just beyond the event-horizon of mortality. I don't have a lot of faith in temporal dilation either.

In any case I just hope I live long enough to see how it all turns out.

No, one of the first commandments in Genesis by God to Adam and Eve is to be fruitful and multiply

Having children(s) is not a “liberty” a “choice”, it is a holy duty to fulfill. As is the stewardship of the planet.

Yeah it's pretty easy to skip thru life without a care when there's a planet B waiting in heaven.

All ya gotta do is get right by Jayzuz and it's all good.

No that’s sin of the sloth. it’s not clear to me why you can’t have a heaven on earth, because people can’t seem to help but make a hell on earth for themselves. Being a Christian isn’t easy man. It’s a struggle. Israel means one who struggles with God by the way.

Well, I guess you agree with the elite parasites.

Humanity should go back to serfdom, where the wealthy have more than what they need and the serfs die of starvation, overwork, poor living conditions.  Likely freezing to death, since fires will be banned because, you know.....have to protect the climate.

This explains why you are so vocally in favour of force-injecting the world's children with substances that are more likely to kill and maim them, than help them in any way.

Close enough.  India and Gina are 1st and 3rd on your list.  You also mentioned two African countries in your list, where the persecution of Christians is well-documented.

Yes it is, but Carney was talking about the law and rules based order that's existed since WW2. Not some shadowy bogeyman conspiracy.
In one electoral brain fart the USA has changed from a supporter of laws and rules to the thuggery of 'who's going to stop us' and an unskilled lout of a leader who can't stop voicing that exact reasoning.

Things seem to be returning to 19th century 'spheres of influence' and military/economic strength to justify that Imperialism.

Churchil's words had a lot more gravitas than Carney's. And Churchill actually meant what he said. Carney does not.

Seems to me that was what the speech was about...the plight of the world as a result of a tyrant.

The almost world wide accolades for Carney and his speech is nice to see.

Small minds are easily impressed.

The best reason for globalism is the moral panic, incessant whining and litany of grievances of populists. The last thing Carney needs to do is cater or cave to them.

That's what the European elites have been saying for the last ten years. And the voters have responded by throwing increasing support to the far right, even as the elites gleefully continue to import millions of young Muslim men who despise them and rape their women.

I just can not believe the USA went from an intelligent speaker like Obama to the babbling dementia of Trump in only a few short years.

Intelligence does not equate to wisdom.Trump is the result of the bad decisions made by the Obama administration and others before them.
