Never say never . . . . he's not a Conservative.

He's more center-right or moderate.

He’d be as bad a choice as PP, and just as unelectable, but in a different way.

He's better than PP IMO.   He's more reasonable and not a Trump copycat.

Rumor has it Ford hasn't congratulated PP for his recent byelection win.  Ford with his eyes on the big prize?

Thoughts?

Of course he wants this.

And the timing is working out.

He did everything he could torpedo Poilievre during the election campaign and has been extremely bromantic about Carney

I can't tell if he's contemplating a run for the conservatives or the liberals for the next leadership :) Maybe he's just keeping his options open?

I doubt Ford would ever try.  PP is strongly supported by Conservatives.  Ford can't just run himself.  It's an involved process.  Must go through a party.

There is absolutely no way an Ontario Premier would ever be PM of Canada. The Tories tried this premier in the past: Stanfield

Only someone from Ontario could imagine this = likely an Ontario federal Liberal.

=====

In the US, state governors become presidents.

In Canada, provincial premiers do not become federal prime ministers.

And since Trudeau Snr, our federal PMs must baraguoine French - even crappy.

Nonsense.  Conservatives are happy with PP.

But Canadians don’t want him.  He is unelectable. This was clear from the last election.  Any Liberal who wasn’t Trudeau beat him when he was on the path to absolutely obliterate the current government at the polls.

canadians do want him. And he just got elected. And he got almost 42% of the popular vote which was only about a percent or so less than carney did

Which is why you're afraid right now and trying desperately to convince yourself he's on electable when you know that he's probably going to wind up replacing Carney within 2 years

Ford could only run as a Lib. He's as reviled by conservatives as Trudeau and Carney.

He couldn't walk into a room full of actual conservatives and talk on stage any more than Hitler could preach in a synagogue.

The only upside to Ford even running for the leadership of the conservatives is that it would instantly result in western separation.

It's gross to see how the LPOC cultists just cling to CBC propaganda about Poilievre and Carney.

They can barely even be considered human at this point because their lack of individual thinking is so compromised.

I’d take Doug Ford over Carney.  But not Pierre.

You’re the person who thinks roads and recreation centres will magically sprout from the ground when property taxes are eliminated though.   So why should your opinion be taken seriously on any political subject?

Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

Ford was liked once, then he developed a smarmy condescending attitude to the Carney.

He's now sliming his way in a vain attempt for Conservative leadership.

Not one single Conservative I know would vote for him.

Thats why you’ll be stuck with unelectable leaders.  No compromise. No recognition of other viewpoints.  Must hate all things “left”.

I never said that.

Sounds like projection.  Regardless, covid and Trump are why Liberals have clung on to power despite driving the country into a ditch.
