Seems the woman voters is going to keep them in power again. Hopefully not.

Interesting interview with conservative columnist Andrew Coyne on the conservative platform The Hub. I don’t agree with all of  Coyne’s opinions but I often find his analyses informative and thoughtful and most importantly fair

Andrew Coyne on Poillievre vs. Carney, Trump, and the future of the conservative movement

“Globe and Mail columnist Andrew Coyne joins Hub Dialogues to talk about why the Conservatives seem to be struggling to find their footing in an election that doesn’t include Justin Trudeau, but does include Donald Trump. He also talks to us about Trump, the future of journalism, and his upcoming book,“The Crisis of Canadian Democracy”, which explains why our democratic institutions are not as strong as we believe them to be.”

The Liberal leader wants to give a $150,000,000 bribe to CBC-Radio-Canada during the election so the police must immediately arrest him and go to the British Isles beyond 12 miles from the coast to confiscate Marc Carney's money to pay his taxes.

Coyne's excellent.  He's one of the main reasons I ever got a Globeandmail subscription.  This is a conservative that didn't join the circus.  Where are they now in politics?

I've always had respect for Coyne's thought on things. Way back in the day when the old now defunct National Post forum from which our forum is rooted he once mused on At Issue while covering a corruption scandal that he could understand why someone might suggest using cameras and microphones to keep politicians honest. I had recently written a letter to the Nat Post editor that made letter of the day on the topic.

They're still there, apparently in a state of disarray but trying to find a voice that articulates a rational counter to the dingbats. Another similarly rational conservative I respect is David Frum.

Rex Murphy was great back in the day too but lost it near the end.

I think we all understand why someone might suggest that. It's because they're stupid

No, Coyne was acknowledging leaving things to trust alone was a mugs game.

Kid, that was his way of telling you that you  were stupid without telling you :)

Nobody disputes but trusting politicians would be foolish. But suggesting they would wear body cameras sings to a level of stupidity and foolishness that previously had not been discovered by modern science.

You gotta love it when you hear it can't be done while people are doing it.

https://www.revealmedia.com/industries/body-cameras-in-local-government

It's only a matter of time.

State Rep. John Cabello, R-Rockford, wants to make it mandatory for all elected officials in the state to wear body cameras while conducting official business. The measure would apply to municipal, county and state lawmakers.

Nobody said it couldn't be done.  What people said is that it was stupid,

Umm... all the pictures are of cops, local gov't "officials", not local gov't politicians  :)

LOL Even THEY know it would be stupid for the politicians :)  LOLOL  Nice example :)

I"m sure.  After all, when they find out people like you are stupid enough to believe that it would make a difference, they'll want to do it because they can then claim "but i can't be corrupt, i've got one of eyeball's body cams!!!" :)  LOLOL

Meanwhile corruption will double.  And you'll still vote for them

Sure they know what needs to be done.  They need to make people as stupid as you believe problems have been solved by doing something that mentally retarded folks think make  a difference so they can keep on as they always have while pretending something got solved :)  LOL

turns out you're the gomer pile of politics :)

Dammit, how's he going to be able to discredit him and denounce him if he doesn't know which credentials to denounce? Sigh, he'll just have to claim he's a maple maga and leave it at that i guess.... way to go dude.

Then why would I care what he has to say?  How do I know he’s not just a partisan hack talking out his ass?

Apparently, according to Power Play - Poilievre is drawing thousands to his rallies.

That's a good sign.

I'm reminded of Harris surging.............and catching up to Trump..............and eventually,  reported to be leading in the polls.

You don't know anything about the guy but are quick to denigrate.

To sum it up......if anyone says something you do not like then they are to be belittled and cast off into the "I don't care" bin.

We see that the media organized itself to make Liberal leader Mark Carney win, they gave him all the visibility he could get a few months before the election to get him elected as Liberal leader and ensure his election as Prime Minister. A month of campaigning is not enough to restore a balance and erase the advantage he was given, and the police should investigate because his election is illegitimate and to find out who coordinated the plot to get him elected and where the money comes from.

Some MSM Star Chamber got together, had a meeting and decided this?

Do you have a copy of the list of attendees, meeting agenda, minutes, motions etc?

George Carlin was actually admired almost as much for his political and social philosophy as he was for being a comedian. Has he correctly pointed out there does not need to be an organized and structured conspiracy if there is a large like-minded group of people with similar goals and the power to put them into practice.

In other words there doesn't need to be a big meeting. CBC can decide that they don't want Poilievre to win, ecos has been very clear that they don't want Poilievre to win and will do "Anything within my power" to prevent it, and so on. These media will behave in a loosely coordinated fashion because they all have the same goals and wish to see a similar result.

But let's be honest, it's not that you actually disagree with anything that was just said or that the media doesn't want Poilievre to win, you were just angry at the thought that there was a meeting and you didn't get invited  :)
