These decisions are not made from the ground up, grassroots level under the important principle of subsidiarity that’s supposed to guide democratic decisions. Instead, many major decisions that impact how we live are made unaccountably behind closed doors. We should oppose all such attempts at unaccountable top-down policies that will no doubt change how we live, especially after a “crisis.” If that makes me a crackpot conspiracy theorist, I don’t care. I feel more secure among people who stand up for constitutional rights and hold government to account. The Canadian government barely seems in charge anymore because it’s so beholden to international agreements and behind the scenes elite think tanks. Canada has changed in ways that most Canadians would never support given the choice, on taxes, immigration, social policy, etc. What’s more, so called progressive leaders like John Carey want to see free speech curtailed so more unaccountable decisions can be shoved down our throats “for the greater good” to keep us “safe”. They seem to like this part of BC. Had a couple Indian doctors, one from the Caribbean the whole town liked. Apparently we're getting our first indigenous one when the new hospital opens who grew up here and has been working elsewhere. The reason that there are so many foreign-born doctors is we are brutally under provisioned for producing our own. Not only can we not keep up with a demand, but a lot of our doctors leave for other countries once they're trained because Canadian doctors are well respected around the world. Which means in order to provide even the poor care that we have now we have to import massive numbers of doctors rather than grow them up locally. While there's nothing particularly wrong with these other doctors, the fact that we are unable to produce enough to meet our own needs is frankly disgraceful. Quote

I rest my case. Jet fuel is kerosene similar to winter diesel. The emissions produced by aircraft are no different from those of any diesel truck you see driving down the road.
