In the last 25 years that I've lived in this town I have never had a Canadian born doctor. I had a Russian followed by three successive South Africans and then an East Asian. My new doctor is an East Asian as well. I count myself lucky because I have had a doctor. There is no reason to believe that an indigenous doctor will be less competent than a white doctor. In fact they might be better.

Competence has nothing to do with race.  The new TMU (Ryersom) med school has quotas of students that are discriminatory towards students on the basis of race. Also, they are lowering academic entry standards for certain groups.  Some of our most talented people are non-white immigrants.  Entry to med school and other university programs must be based on merit, not a point system based on one’s quantity of intersectionalities.  The US Supreme Court struck down such biased hiring and admissions.  Not so in Canada.

These photos and many others were taken during the Battle of Britain in September 1940. Amazing that they could take time of trying to kill each other in order to spread chemicals.

Also amazing that they would sacrifice carrying more bombs, fuel and ammunition just to carry chemicals.

I swear pilots are up there playing X's and O's with their contrails some days. There's lots of air traffic over the coast hereabouts. I'm assuming the O's are military planes that fly out over the Pacific ocean before heading back to base...to tank up or whatever.

You see contrails from the boat all the time around here. I recall reading there's a lot of air traffic overhead that's coming from and going to Dallas. Planes at a lower altitude, likely heading in or out of Vancouver and Seattle, don't seem to leave trails.

Likely military, Growlers out of Whidbey Island NAS or some such thing. Civilian contrails will be straight except for when they are making a course change. There is a ton of traffic between SeaTac and Anchorage so you will see a lot of aircraft climbing out of or descending into SeaTac as well as Vancouver departures and arrivals.  Contrails need a range of humidity and temperature to form and will stay until upper winds disperse them or they sink to an altitude where conditions are not favourable. The only way a crew knows if they are contrailing is if the sun is in a position where they can see their shadow on the ground or cloud below them.

Cloud seeding has been underway for decades.  Why have laws that prevent weather manipulation though, right?  What could go wrong?

Been going on since the forties to try and mitigate drought. To do cloud seeding, first you need a cloud to seed. It's in the name.

The school and its curriculum has been accredited, The licencing board hasn't announced any changes.  The fact is that there is a serious doctor and nurse shortage across Canada and especially in remote areas. The only thing that the article I read mentions  as a change is the C-Med which I take it is a premed exam which discriminates against poorer students because of its expense.

Intersectionality wouldn't be a thing if we were all born equal and the opportunities we had were roughly the same but they aren't. So me as a white male born into a middle class family had fewer struggles than someone born black into a poor dysfunctional family.  As a white male can I hope to relate with an indigenous person. I can try but I'm betting I will come up short.

I know that white folks want to storm the gates whenever our white privilege is threatened but maybe we should ride in the back of the bus just to get a feel for what that's been like for others. Just to clarify that's a metaphor.

OMG doesn't know Conservatives are right wing, believes in chem trails......

hint:
A: it's because they sat on the right side of the Speaker in Parliament, not because they were "correct" all the time.
B: Because when you burn anything it creates smoke and STEAM.

Wouldn't seeding be the 2nd step after making clouds with chemicals first?

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

Contrails are basically cirrus clouds but you will never get any rain out of them.

She didn't say there was such a thing, she didn't say there wasn't. It's the perfect answer to give a bunch of people who are worked up over nothing. She just said if anyone's doing it it's illegal. It's the perfect kind of non answer that you give when somebody gives you a question which is kind of crazy to begin with

Imbeciles have literally been arguing over absolutely nothing for two pages. Well done. They are spraying anything I hope it's something that will prove intelligence, but so far it's not working

It’s not a perfect answer. Leaders have the responsibility to dispel crackpot myths and conspiracies. Even her choice of words “I spoke to the lady who controls the airspace” reeks of stupidity.

They absolutely do not. Your problem in life is that you are an unrelenting bigot. Anything you believe is the only correct thing to believe, anything you don't believe nobody else should be allowed to believe, and we should look down on people who don't believe as we do.

She is a servant. She has absolutely no duty or obligation to tell the people she serves whether they are crackpots or not. A good leader knows how to address their constituents concerns without demeaning them or blowing them off.

Her method sends a clear statement that can't be argued with but doesn't demean anybody. It simply says i've heard your concerns I'm not judging your concerns but I have taken this action and I don't see what else we could do to address your concerns. What would you like us to do now?

And of course the answer is well I guess there's nothing to do so we'll let it go. The situation has been diffused, the people feel like they got heard and the appropriate action was taken.

Your solution is to treat them like children because you disagree. Do you think that will make the problem go away? A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.

What was your next step? Declare an emergency act and have them searched for bouncy castles? :)

Her answer was perfect

Agreed, a nonsense answer that only promotes more nonsense from people who slobber nonsense on their shirts.

I've been dragging contrails across the sky in military and commercial aircraft for over 3 decades. No holding tanks, no chemicals and NO BLOODY ROOM FOR THEM either. The weight penalty alone would be prohibitive.

Cloud seeding is a different animal. In short it's used to mitigate severe weather like damaging hail or to enhance precipitation for agricultural purposes by injecting condensation nuclei. The jury is out on its effectiveness and typically silver iodide or potassium iodide is used. The jury is also out on the toxicity effects... especially the effect of any introduced salts on agricultural land. Never done it, that's the extent of my knowledge on the subject and I don't care enough to look it up.

At first I thought this was simply a pleasant conversation about contrails... like most of the exchanges here it appears I was wrong. Given that I have but two words for the resident nasties.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Actually that wasn't  it... just sounds better than what I had in mind.

Those people are going to slobber anyway. You don't convince Somebody by telling them they're an !diot, or a deplorable or what have you.

You think about all of the things that some of our leaders believe, and half of our problems seem to come from the fact that they don't listen to us, all they do is tell us what the "Correct" answer is. I mean everyone knows the vaccine was safe right? They were perfectly corrected dismiss anyone else's opinions even though medical evidence now shows they were right and there was a danger. the go't knows better than you do how to spend your money right? We shouldn't argue with taxes, whatever they say the tax level is it's obviously the correct answer no matter how high it gets.

Is not the job of the servant to put their own opinion about yours. She did the correct thing, I've heard your concerns i've looked into it I have received the following assurances and I don't believe there's anything left to investigate what more do you want me to do.

But turning around and freaking out at them and saying you're stupid, you're wrong, I'm not listening to this garbage etc etc, all that does is convince them that there's a cover-up and makes them feel like the government is against them somehow.

Her answer was perfect. That's exactly how that she should answer. And now the issue is largely dead.

So the better question to ask is whether governments should be in the business of manipulating weather, and if so what are the parameters and rules for accountability? Given the ongoing climate hysteria, all manner of social and geoengineering ideas are on and will be brought to the table.  As a citizen who sees good reasons to distrust governments based on history, we should at least be wary and ask questions, or is your faith in Trudeau, Biden, and Starmer so rock solid that you don’t think anyone should care?

What do you consider manipulating weather? Trying to promote rain in areas of drought is not new and rarely has much success. Only an id*ot would believe governments can control ocean temperatures and the weather they produce.

Wrong.  We manipulate the environment all the time.  That’s the thesis behind human-made climate change.

And how are governments intentionally doing that in order to produce storms? Our actions are affecting weather but that isn't manipulating it, unless you think governments have hundreds of nuclear reactors on ocean floors pumping billions of BTU's of heat into the oceans.

Another of your BS answers. Hilarious that you now suggest elected leaders don’t provide opinions on topics they know to be false while you support the most blustering opinionated leader the democratic world has ever seen.   Im sure if the the audience had suggested socialism was good or the carbon tax is beneficial she would have immediately challenged it.

Also hilarious you call someone a BIGOT for suggesting that DEMONSTRABLY FALSE CONSPIRACY claims should be challenged.  Just shows you don’t know how to use the word bigot. Again YOU support the most ideologically INTOLERANT party whose members actually openly state that tolerance of diverse beliefs is a liberal FAULT.  Secondly you yourself ate know to verbally insult and attack anyone who challenges your opinions on this forum. ACTUAL BIGOTS are people like you who put forth all sorts of racist claims about indigenous people, black people immigrants etc.

Chemtrails is an easily disproven hoax and there is nothing bigoted about saying so. Leaders who deliberately choose to humour their nutjobs with these conspiracies for self-serving purposes are doing a disservice to society and democracy, and/or they are conspiracy nutjobs themselves.

Awwww look at you, moving those goalposts and everything :)

Magically you've gone from " a DUTY to DISPELL opinions they disagree with" to "offering an opinion :)  LOL

Elected leaders are absolutely not supposed to allow their own personal opinions to affect their actual duties and their service to the country.

For example vandazam in British Columbia was famous for standing up and saying I personally disagree with abortion entirely, but I'm here to represent the people of this province and they have said that they want access to abortion so they will get it.

It would be fine for her to say I don't believe that concerns about contrails are significant but I have taken actions to confirm this and to do what we can to make sure there's nothing to be concerned about going on.

But it is Authoritarian, repressive and bigoted to turn around and say that you are certain that someone else's opinion Has no validity before you've even looked into it.

It is absolute proof that people like you must never be allowed near government. You are fueled by hatred and bigotry and you cannot even comprehend of the idea that it is not the government's job to tell people what to think.

What she said was absolutely correct. I have no additional information about this, so I went to the various agencies that are responsible and I've inquired and I've received assurances that this is not the case And there's nothing more I can do to pursue it. That is the correct answer.

I mean did you look into it? Have you done any investigations to determine whether it's any accuracy in it? Have you personally boarded suspect aircraft and examine them?\

No? Then you don't know that they're wrong. You just strongly believe that they're wrong. I wouldn't have believed that in the 40s and 50s our Canadian government allowed first nations children to starve to see the effects of nutrition. But they did that's a thing and I was shocked when I researched it and discovered it was a thing. You don't know what governments are going to do so dismissing stuff out of hand is unreasonable.

But of course you are the only person in the world that knows everything that's going on at all times and has never made a mistake🙄
