Dominion settles out of court for 787 million dollars

Dominion settles out of court today for $787.5 million dollars in one of the largest settlements in a defamation case in U.S. history. A spokesperson for Fox stated: “we acknowledge the court’s rulings finding certain claims about Dominion to be false.” a clear admission of fault.

Next up, Smartmatic will sue Fox.

The point is not right wing or left wing. 
The point is that Fox News promoted lies about the election being stolen, and they damaged Dominion Systems, and it cost Fox over $780 million. 
 

Hopefully, this will help Dominion restore their business.

CNN and MSNBC may lean left but they don't intentionally lie and that was what this is all about. This is the biggest media defamation settlement in history by far. Dominion got ten times its market valuation. More to come with the other suits against FOX. 

The faithful will continue to tune in because FOX won't address this at all on their shows. If the FOX faithful want to learn anything about they will have to look elsewhere.

This is great news, and sorely needed in the realm of media organizations.  A landmark ruling, if you will.  No longer will Fox be allowed to defame and commit fraud.   Lie about organizations and people.  The ramifications of this court case will shake the foundations of CNN, NBC and all the rest.

Trump no doubt has a huge smile today.  He’ll be bringing suits into court, and if he has to appeal all the way to SCOTUS, he’ll eventually get justice.

That is definitely NOT the only explanation. People are still tuning in because in a world full of real news, FOX viewers still, as always, love hearing coverage designed solely to confirm their narrow biases.

FOX never was a source for quality journalism. It was never intended to be anything more than lucrative infotainment. They hire personalities instead of journalists, their award shelf is bare, but the revenue is real and that's all that matters to them.

100% agree. I’m no lawyer but I’ve been told it’s very difficult for a plaintiff in civil court to refuse a “no admission of wrongdoing” settlements (and for that matter non-disclosure settlements) if the defendant’s payment offer is high enough as it will be held against you at trial that you turned down a “reasonable offer” and are wasting the court’s time and resources.   IMO this only allows wrongdoers to keep claiming they did nothing wrong.
