I get the feeling he is more interested in photo ops and glad handing with children than dealing with the crisis facing many Canadians in the airports, passport offices, health care, high inflation, housing crisis, rental crisis, etc.

Why is Justin Trudeau appearing at random? I think the answer is quite obvious. Trudeau prefers his comfort zone of glad-handing and photo ops to dealing with the growing inability of the federal government to deliver on its basic accountabilities.

The immense grief inflicted on Canadians is growing by the day. Everywhere you look, Canada is a mess, from borders to airports to passports to inflation. “You’ll forgive me if I don’t think about monetary policy,” he said. Mr. Prime Minister, Canadians don’t forgive you, as we are all paying the price of your lack of interest (pun intended).  Unquote

The first article is about the issue of private health care versus public and the following article is about Trudeau's photo-ops and glad handing interests versus dealing with the critical issues effecting Canadians.

Is Trudeau more interested in photo ops than dealing with the real problems facing Canadians?

Yes, always has been from the very beginning.

The only difference between the beginning  and now is that he does not have hos Wife standing by his side.

Trudeau was in over his head from Day 1.  The really sad thing is that he was re-elected after it became apparent he wasn't much more than sparkle socks and a coiffure. That's a reflection on how shallow and lazy the Canadian voter is.

And then re-elected again.

Seems we have no one better in Canada :(

Like his father before him, Justin was born into wealth. He was actually financially set for life before he was born so it's kind of understandable why he's totally out of touch with average Canadians.

Yes he is much more focused on photo ops than the important issues.

It is sad, really sad that so many Canadians can't see this and keep voting for him or his party or the NDP which is helping to keep Trudeau going.  The one thing he is good at is writing cheques for his hobby horses, but not so much able or willing to govern for the great majority of Canadians who are struggling.

Justin Trudeau is the product of Pierre Trudeau's desire to make a federal State work. Like in 18th century Europe, he viewed a marriage as a State union.

In the mid 1960s, Pierre Trudeau met the daughter of a BC federal Liberal bagman while both were on vacation in Tahiti - rich jet-setters.

As Margaret's sister famously asked: "Why did he pick the crazy one?"

It isn't just one individual. It's worrisome to scary that first, it's one of the main political establishments in the country; and secondly, a significant part of population. The vector is very wrong.

In a political culture of self-indulgence and entitlement, with no checks, limits or feedback from reality bad things will begin to happen. The question is not if, not when but how bad it'll be next time and how long we have until it's really bad.

Most definitely our party leaders do this.  And the problem is that pictures go further than print.

We need to promote unaffiliated public figures who can knowledgeablely voice concerns from the people.

That's supposed to be the news media...but they've failed the populous. They excuse this by arguing that some things are simply opinions...editorials. Yet its the Editor and the media's executive branch that decide which editorials get published. The media also like to lie-down on the "entertainment" factor. The idea that people want to read and hear what they agree with, regardless of ALL the facts, pomp and circumstance surrounding any issue.

Our institutions are failing us...all in unison.

1. You're really throwing Conservatives under the bus here.

2. Based on what I read, seems like it's mutual.

1. Specifically talking about editorial, which is the domain of newspapers... predominantly conservative.

2. Squeaky Wheelism.  Given the overwhelming victory of Conservatism in the economic domain since Reagan, I try in vain to imagine what moonscape you want Canada to look like...

No it's a reflection of how lame the opposition are at attracting votes.

Partisans who believe that other voters cannot be trusted is oxygen for a dictator.

How does it indicate that exactly?

In today's CBC on issues in Hockey Canada, there was a lot of discussion of PM's indignant words, he said he mean. Isn't that how they treat their supreme deity in Russia? In most democratic countries of course it would be who is investigated, who resigned and who is charged. Getting there.

Isn't it funny ironic that they just can't overcome themselves and embrace all of: the reality; the present and the future; the role of the only political force in the country that is honest and cares about it ahead of itself; and actually a higher chance of winning by supporting PR? Guess one cannot be both of smart and honest in the politics of this country; or else century old winding just couldn't let go.
