We have all lost the right to medical bodily autonomy.  Just because you complied and intend to continue complying ad nauseum, doesn't mean you didn't lose it.

You lost it for yourself, you lost it for the rest of Canada, you lost it for your children and grandchildren.  None of us will ever have the right to decide for ourselves what is done with our body medically again.  It is a right that one day your children and grandchildren will have to fight to get back.

You have also given the government the right to decide how and on what you spend your money.  If they don't agree, they take your money and assets.  

You don't seem to be able to comprehend the bigger picture - that today it's a GoFundMe donation and next week, it will be something else.  The power you have just given the government - it is endless what they can do with it.  And you're kidding yourself if you think Trudeau is going to use this power benignly.  He is a power-hungry narcissist who has publicly admired the dictatorship of China.

Yes we’ve had these discussions, which is how I know you’re a good guy.  The state is not and must never pretend to be God.  This has been tried.  The Soviets did it with the myth of V. Lenin.  It was done with Mao.  It’s been done with Hitler.  Any promise by a political group or individual to provide heaven on Earth through political power is a snake oil salesman.  That’s why we have freedom of religion, speech, bodily autonomy, etc.

We’ve learned from history and sacred texts (which are also histories) that history is the account of various periods of enslavement and liberation.  Our constitution is supposed to ensure individual liberties against abuses of power by the state upon individuals, because the Leviathan (state power) inherently seeks greater power and control.  That’s why we have checks and balances, a Supreme Court, and a constitution.

We’re living in a period of profound government overreach. It was arguable for some of the pandemic that the suspension of our civil rights was justified to address a serious public health emergency.  Now, however, the state has held on to those special powers and supplemented them with the Emergencies Act.  This is tyrannical.

Tell me, using science, how do the trucker vaccine mandates make Canadians safer?  What is the difference between hauling a truck through Toronto or Alberta versus through Michigan or Montana or Washington state?

Maybe this would make more sense if omicron hasn't spread through Canada yet and had been inside the US, but that isn't the case.  The policy makes no sense.  It's overreach.

Have you ever traveled internationally?  Many countries have vaccine requirements.  It makes sense when there’s a pandemic that folks crossing borders are vaccinated for public safety.  If you can’t imagine why, I would need to question your lack of thought on the issue.

You have no rights whatsoever to enter another country.  You do have rights to enter and leave your own country, and to move freely within your own country, as defined by the Charter and UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights to which we are a signatory.
