They've been cold calling people from a leaked list of donors. Seems right up your alley to support that

Thanks for acknowledging that Canada is a dictatorship. I fully concur that it's not the same kind of dictatorship, it's much cuter, fuzzier and and warmer! And we have beavers too!

We live in a Parliamentary democracy and have a democratically-elected government and we have more freedoms that most countries in the world.  The fact you are able to speak on here constantly is clear proof of the freedom you have.  You should show appreciation for your freedom and democracy.  Instead you whine like a spoiled child.  Shame.

I will never apologize for defending human rights and dignity.

Certain things should never be tolerated. Apartheid is one.

Rights exist within the framework of the law of the land.  You have no rights to break the law or support lawbreakers as you do.  When an unelected group such as the truck convoy threatens to overthrow the democratic system and set up a dictatorship, that is not defending human rights or dignity.  It is a threat to our freedom and democratic system.  All and every measure must be taken to stop them cold.

Rights aren't up to popular opinion. You are on the wrong side of this thing

Trudeau's totalitarian turn | The Spectator

Quote

These are totalitarian methods, not the methods of a justly governed, civilised nation. What is particularly notable in government discourse over the last couple of weeks is that Covid has become an afterthought. Nobody in power appears genuinely concerned about anything other than maintaining control and saving face. Two-thirds of the Canadian population now support dropping all mandates.

It is starting to become clear that the mandates have nothing to do with Covid. The measures don’t work, and travel restrictions are pointless when Covid is already widespread within the country. But the government won’t let go. Over 80 per cent of Canadians are vaccinated. They want 100 per cent to get vaccinated. Why? So they can move the goalposts and demand another proof of compliance? The message is plain: participation in normal life is a privilege, not a default. Only those 'in compliance' get to participate.

Canadians don’t want participation in normal life to become a privilege granted only on government say-so. That’s what these protests are about. But their goal will not be secured until the vaccine passport system is gone. Even though some provinces say they are dropping the pass, they’re maintaining the existence of the system. It remains legal for businesses to enforce it for employees or clientele. But the QR code system must be dismantled and its use made illegal. It is the backbone of a potential social credit programme — a totalitarian’s dream. Don’t let it come true, Canada.

Useless pompous entitled and grossly overpaid nothings. We should have MPs paid by voluntary donations of citizens not paying themselves out of the public's pocket. When was an essential problem addressed and solved in the country? I couldn't care less what they are called. If there's a vote and their names are on the list it should be remembered for generations. Because the next Emergencies act could go on for "as long as necessary". They are already learning how it's said.

the NDP has abandoned the working classes

it's all part of the Communist plan of the so called Frankfurt School from the 1920's

Herbert Marcuse most of all

the concept is that the working classes did not rise up for the Communists

instead the working classes rose up into the middle classes, and so had no reason for revolution

so how do the Communist elites get their revolution, without the Proletariat ?

Answer : the Communists replaced the workers with academics

college professors, teachers unions and their brainwashed student vanguard, otherwise known as Antifa

It's incredible alright.  The Liberals overreaction to the sight of a swastika and Conservative sensitivity to that overreaction really underscore just how ridiculous things have gotten.  In particular is the fact that so many Conservative supporters not only refer to Trudeau as Hitler, they extend that ridiculous Godwinism to anyone who happens to disagree with it.

By somehow sucking themselves into playing rubber and glue with the swastika card Liberals are missing an opportunity to ask if Conservative MP's support how many voices within their base of support refer to Canadians as Nazis themselves.

Somehow we've come to the point where we're all Nazis.

Like most things, it is good to read the article because it is a little more nuanced than that.

While most people are ready for strict mandates to be lifted, Wright said that they are also open to having certain restrictions imposed depending on the impact on their local health-care systems. He said that people are open to having medical personnel ready to pull them back, should they need to.

Quote

Most epidemiologists agree that some mandates should stick around.

Timothy Sly, professor emeritus of epidemiology at Ryerson University, said that vaccines and masking requirements should remain as top priorities. He said both getting vaccinated and wearing a mask are the best ways of preventing COVID-19.

Also, testing and isolation when positive is “hugely important,” said Jha, because you do not want to infect others.

It was never about a responsible democracy by the citizens for the citizens. Any minor hiccup and it goes nuts. It has no clue what to do and so has to find a scapegoat and bestow upon itself extraordinary powers. How novel, really.

It doesn't say that anywhere in the article I posted.
