Seems reasonable. But regarding the term "homosexual", I never considered it to be derogatory. Some people despise "gays", and so regardless of the word they use, the label is derogatory. That might be what Hal 9000 meant when he said the link is gay, in an effort to demonstrate that use of the word gay is no less derogatory but depends on who is saying it to whom, and why.

You went around in a big circle to confirm what Argus just said. Was there some sort of point?

As if no one here has ever said the word f--k. I have heard good old liberal boys say that word. Think before you speak snowflake. A big problem for you, eh?

Does your mommy know you talk like that? You might get a spanking.

Thanks for the thoughtful response. I get it's the best you can do.

But when someone takes the time to look for and post a link to support their argument, the least you can do is acknowledge that perhaps you were wrong in using certain terms to address a group of people.

It's far more mature than to say 'the article is gay'. Wth does that even mean?

Well, I did read the article - thanks for posting it.  Doesn't mean I'm wrong...and here's why;

Homosexual is the scientific term for "gay people".  I've broken the word down to 2 sections "homo" and "sexual".  This is also how you get "heterosexual" as well as "bisexual", "pansexual" and "asexual" - probably a few more.  Now, it's not uncommon to hear people refer to themselves as "hetero" "bi" or "pan", so why the fear of the word "homo".  Ok, according to your article, they don't like it.  So, they choose to distance themselves from what is the "proper" term for the sexual preference  and hijack the word "gay" - because, apparently being homosexual is fun.  Sorry, I'm not confused and I wont be manipulated into helping them hide from the truth.  It's just like "pride" - another word to help pump their egos and shelter from "proper" terminology.  Scientist often speak of experiments or studies regarding homosexuality in animals and primates.

The word "homosexual" is inarguable.  And some people ,whether they like the term or not are homosexuals.

Now, lets explore "trannies" - which you also take issue with.  I say trannies because they choose the word "trans" and in proper terms "trans" is acceptable.  Why "trannies" you ask?  Trans can mean different things -  Transgender, Transsexual, Transvestite, Transitioning, Transman, TransWoman.  Now, using "proper english"  Transes is not proper plurality.  Admittedly, tranny might not be the proper plural usage either, but it's not derogatory and it does roll off the tongue better than transes.  So, until trannies change their name to "joyful beings" or some other ridiculous name, I'll use it.

So, for Argus and his Paki statement - no, Paki is not the same.  First off Pakistan is a proper name and secondly, Homosexual is a combination of two words and is a noun.  It's perfectly acceptable to use it in a shortened version.

Are you that out of touch that you don't comprehend that the words, "homo, paki, tranny, faggot" are not exactly words of endearment? Right wing biggots just never seem to get it.

I didn't use "faggot" or "Paki"  - which are derogatory, so lets try and stay on point.

Just for reference; I still say "toilet paper" even though "bathroom tissue" is more endearing.

So let's stay on point. If you say someone is a homosexual, you hopefully are simply stating a fact. If you say someone is a homo, you are very likely being derogatory. And it's the same with many other short forms discussed here. Rednecks can't get away with it.

So if I say, "Justin Trudeau is a homo", that is derogatory ?

But if I say, "Justin Trudeau is a hetero", it is not ?

Logical fail....

Obviously you once again failed to get the point.

No, I get the point, but it is fun to type "Justin Trudeau is a homo" as a counterpoint.

Trump says it's OK for cops to rough people up. Bang their heads on the police car if they want. Maybe Putin told him we do that here in Russia.

It's most disgusting that police laughed and applauded Trump's call for police brutality. As if they don't already have enough problems with violent members! And that group behaviour certainly suggests it's police culture that is the problem, not just 'a few bad apples'.

International Association of Police Chiefs talks back:

http://m.huffingtonpost.ca/entry/international-police-chief-association-respond-trump-brutality-speech_us_597bfc86e4b02a4ebb759b22

Law enforcement officials from around the world released a statement in apparent response to President Donald Trump’s speech Friday to cops in New York in which he appeared to encourage police brutality.

After his speech, the International Association of Police Chiefs published a blog post that detailed its use-of-force policies and training, highlighting the need for officers to “ensure that any use of force is carefully applied and objectively reasonable.”

The association explained that officers are trained to treat all individuals “with dignity and respect.”

“This is the bedrock principle behind the concepts of procedural justice and police legitimacy,” the IAPC wrote.

Police officers who giggle and snigger about getting away with violence against citizens only degrade public respect and confidence in police in general, making police in general more at risk of violence against them. Any officers laughing about police brutality, think about the importance of public respect next time you need cooperation from the public. People will be walking away, refusing to talk, terrified of the police and uncooperative, fighting back.

YOU GET WHAT YOU GIVE!

We pay your salaries.

You work for us.

If you just want to beat on people, organized crime has a position for criminals like you.

Do your violence in dark alleys like other criminals, always looking over your shoulder afraid of going to jail ... like other criminals.

But you don't get to do it without consequence on the public payroll!

Michael Theriault almost got away with a violent racist attack it because his daddy works in the Professional Standards Branch of the Toronto Police Services. We're coming for you, a**hole! And your brother and your daddy too! ^_^

20/20 story last night was about border guards who had a 16-year-old drink from a bottle which they suspected contained drugs.  Guards are grinning at each other while they have the kid drink.  Kid dies and its not pretty.  I don't know if he could have been saved at any time, but medical help was not called even after it was clear that the kid was in distress.   Female guard did rush herself to the hospital cause she got some fluid on her hand and someone thought she was talking fast.  But the boy sweating, shaking and eventually screaming in agony ... No rush.

The guards are not reprimanded at all, still have their jobs.

Yeah, the kid was smuggling and if the guards had.followed procedure and tested the liquid with the equipment they have right there he could have been taken alive, so to speak.  And he could have refused to drink it, but at home the cartel is watching his house and he knows that failure threatens the lives of his family.  Perhaps he didn't realize.how strong the mixture was and that 4 sips would basically cook him from the inside. Perhaps he believed that the US was more compassionate than the drug cartel and would ensure he didn't die.

Anyway, the guards had their little fun and the kid is dead.  No doubt some will say he deserved it, although the US did settle when his family sued, albeit without admitting wrongdoing.  Too often the States looks very much like the corrupt and inhumane regimes they want to lord it over.

Maybe that is what criminals need. Some tough bang their heads against the car door love. We treat criminals like they are the victims. I guess that Putin does not screw around with criminals. If someone breaks the law then hey they should not be treated like rock stars. Of course snowflake liberals like yourself seem to feel that criminals should be treated kindly for their crimes, eh? Hey, did you not get the memo sent to you from Trump? It said that you are "fired". And there will be no severance package for you. So pack your backs and leave. Bye-bye. :P

In Canada here we have what are called courts. They are the people who decide ultimately who are criminals and who are not. And if we find someone is a criminal, we take away their freedom, we don't beat the shit out of them. Did you maybe bang your head against a police car door?

I will get my buddy Trump to send you another memo. It's been a slice. Bye-bye. :P
