America under President Trump

Putin hates the oligarchs. Putin has kicked many of them out of Russia or has put them in jail for crimes against the Russian people.

The oligarchs essentially work for Putin the same way the billionaires in China work for the Communist Party. They don't do thing one he doesn't want done, they give him a cut of the profits, and they bow to his wishes at all times. Anyone who gets too big for his britches and challenges Putin finds himself in jail on trumped up charges.

He has backed off until the first time she or Bill says something he doesn't like. Then he will get angry and order an investigation. Trump has always been an extremely petty and vindictive man, and prides himself on it.

Yes it seems with this guy the only thing predictable is unpredictability. I'd be nervous.

Ah no, the executive does not control the judiciary. Trump is going in over his head with trying to chase Hillary. He was probably advised of that by now hence he has backed off.

I didn't say she would be found guilty, but the investigation itself can be extraordinarily intrusive and lengthy.

I'm not sure Trump is dumb enough to think that an investigation will achieve anything, he does know however that the threat of a investigation will get his supporters riled.

He seems just as oblivious to how he's riling his second amendment folks supporters.

Quote

News of his softer position on Clinton was met with outrage from some Trump supporters. At his rallies, many chanted “lock her up” and called her “crooked Hillary.” Now Trump’s apparent retreat from his tough stand have some backers calling it a “broken promise” on his part.

Story

Trump the candidate was an effect not a cause. Trump the president OTOH...

Trump's broken promises in Scotland:

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/trump-fails-to-create-promised-jobs-and-investment-in-scotland-locals-say-a6801466.html

"The first project on the coastal Menie estate started almost a decade ago with plans to invest $1.5 (£1.02) billion, numbers that were repeated by former Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond in 2009, to build a five star hotel, a golf course and 1,500 houses. Mr Trump also said he would create 6,000 jobs.

There are currently 150 people directly employed on the Menie golf resort. "

"According to documents from UK public database Companies House, the Menie estate golf course has made multi-million pound losses over the last three years. The estate made a loss of £1.3 million in 2014, a loss of £1.8 million in 2013 and a further loss of £1.7 million in 2012.

“The Menie estate has been valued at £30 million - and it has lost millions since it opened in 2012,” Mr Baxter said.

Local councillor Isobel Davidson said there was no evidence in the short term of Trump creating 6,000 jobs. "

Yes lets hope there really is a god and that he or she will drain the swamp and clean out the racist bigots like Trump from high places where they don't belong.

Don't people like you ever get tired of throwing those words racist and bigots around? They don't work anymore on politically incorrect people like me or Trump. We laugh it off. Those words are always thrown at people who the politically correct Marxists people do not like or are willing to accept their opinion that differs to theirs. They hope by using those words they will scare their opponent off. Boo. :D

America under President Trump says:

Quote

You Muslims are a vile and filthy people. Your mothers are whores and your fathers are dogs.   You are evil. You worship the devil. But, your day of reckoning has arrived.

(Trump) will do to you Muslims what Hitler did to the the Jews.

Long Live President Trump and God Bless America

Signed:  Americans For a Better Way

Lest you think this is an isolated nutbar, there are 890 White Supremacists groups in America today, and over 300,000 registered to Stormfront.  Their rallying cry?  “Hail Trump, hail our people, hail victory!”

I'm very interested in how the US is going to maintain it's reputation for freedom and tolerance for all in the next few years.

Nothing Trump has done so far indicates any intention of 'draining the swamp'. To the contrary, I expect the swamp to get much deeper as Trump and his friends and family profit off everything in the government they reach.

Agreed.

Trump is going to become a real billionnaire with real money (rather than the fanciful goodwill of his name being worth $3 billion) all thanks to American voters.

Smrt!

Trump famously said that it's impossible to tell where the State Department ends and the Clinton Foundation begins.

We've seen the photo of Ivanka sitting in on Trump's meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister. We've heard that Ivanka sat in on the teleconference between Trump and the Argentinian President. Ivanka isn't in the Trump administration, she's acting CEO of the Trump Organization. Why does the CEO of the Trump Organization get to sit in on meetings with world leaders?  We've heard from Nigel Farage, Trump's biggest supporter in Europe, that Trump used their conference call to urge the UKIP to fight to get rid of those wind farms near Trump's Scottish golf course.

When a world leader gets on the phone with Trump, are they on a diplomatic call with President-Elect Trump, or are they on a business call with the Trump Organization?  It sounds like it's both. It sounds like, to paraphrase Trump, it's impossible to tell where the Trump Administration ends and the Trump Organization begins.

Trump is getting approval for his buildings around the world. Leaders are doing this right now so they will be favoured.

Too bad Canada has due process that makes it hard to roll over for Trump in Vancouver and Toronto, eh?

But, of course, Trump will thump Trudeau because of Trudeau's statement on Castro's demise. :D

You seem confused.  Maybe you should state for the record whom you believe to be the president.  Once Trump gets sworn into office, like Hillary did, then you have an argument.

When those words ring true especially when discussing a person in such high office, then any sensible person should be scared. Boo.

Funny, but no.  The fact that Trump is not yet sworn in does not dilute the fact that his new status has provided Trump Organization with access to world leaders that other businesses simply do not have. Before you object, ask yourself whether world leaders like the Prime Minister of Japan or the President of Argentina would be lining up to meet with Trump if he were not the President-Elect. And ask yourself whether a CEO would get to sit in on a meeting with the President of Argentina or the Prime Minister of Japan if her dad wasn't the president-elect.  The answer is obviously no, and the excuse you're trying to make smacks of "defend my guy at any cost" partisanship.

Trump used people like you to get elected and you're one gullible sucker if you think he has the best interest of the every day people in mind; the only thing he's going to do is change the system to allow him to amass even more wealth for himself.  He's going to pander to the religious right (against his own convictions) in order for the Republicans to allow him to do his pillaging.

It's actually pretty funny to watch.

Still, he's not the president yet.  I'm sure I'll have plenty of time to take issue with what he's doing down the road if he doesn't reduce the ridiculous deficit and get the economy going, something Obama failed miserably at.  Speaking of which, have you ever said anything critical of Obama?  His foreign non-policy has left American interests in tatters in several key areas.  Surely you have something critical you can come up with.

True 'dat....in my lifetime, I have never seen a President-Elect garner so much domestic and international attention.  I heard that the CBC News web site is going to give Trump his own dedicated section and staff for news coverage.
