PIK Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 General Lewis McKenzie was on P&P , he say we were not snubbed, but ask to not be invited, so there would be no embarrassment. Now he was against the mission early on, but now supports it because of the changes done to it. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
waldo Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 ... The one thing I liked about harper was he was all about business. He did not have to have his ego stroke every 45 minutes. so... when Harper meets with 'activist Bono' it's all good... when JT does... not so much! And c'mon... Kevin Spacey is the U.S Pres on tee-vee! . Quote
PIK Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 How many times did harper meet with these people, I imagine something you have to and I would bet harper did not want to. What is worse, why do these actors deserve to meet anyone. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

Wilber Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 Could you imagine the uproar if he didn't attend? I think he should be there but Trudeau can say anything he wants, no one is going to make any investment decisions regarding this country at least until they have seen a budget. Argus Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 See what I just said to TimG. They want to expand their caliphate across the entire world, but want to conquer the ME first. Good luck to them attacking Iran and Saudi Arabia and Israel. If they beat those guys, almost certainly not possible, then we can worry about them. Until then, let their local enemies in the ME deal with them. We're fighting their war for them, it's a joke. So we'll ignore them until they're big and powerful? Then we'll confront them? Argus Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 Could you imagine the uproar if he didn't attend? I'm happy for him to be in Davos. Hes spent most of his time since getting elected jaunting around abroad and I hope he continues it for the next four years.. He'll cause less problems for us that way. PIK Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 There was one reporter over there and as he said , trudeau for now is just a novelty. But this is his life, living large and travelling the world so people can kiss his feet. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
G Huxley Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 Where did you read that? Defence Minister Sajjan has said he is busy looking at ways for Canada to remain active in the war against ISIS. You forgot Lebanon. I also forgot to add Yemen. Well enough to piss them off clearly. Quote

Rue Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Harper never travelled anywhere as Prime Minister. Crap. You know better. He traveled to as many countries as any other PM did. Just his need to meet with NATO, G7, the ECC, Mexico, Chile and the US over free trade, China, Ukraine, are a few examples and he led many missions of businesses overseas to get new contracts. Sheer nonsense. Quote

Sheer nonsense. You're right of course. I think he was being sarcastic - as in "If Harper could travel all over, why not Trudeau". Pretty sure he won't be able to earn the personal respect of Angela Merkel like Harper did. Edited January 22, 2016 by Keepitsimple Quote Back to Basics
PIK Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Trudeau will never command the respect harper had with foreign leaders. They will like him ,he is a likeable boy. But I imagine meeting with leaders have taken a sharp turn ,as in where harper could talk shop , one on one, but trudeau will not be able to with out advisors. Who knew?! Is he gonna address the sliding dollar, sliding stock market, and sliding economy anytime soon? Or does travel come first? Quote
