When did the Sun say that it was a Star conspiracy? The Sun was critical of how the Mayor has handled this as well.

Early on, they said it was horrible journalism, that they could not be trusted, all sorts of funny accusations.

Gawker and The Star .....they believed were in cahoots.

I'd still like to see a believable fake video. No one would ever show me a believable fake video.

Well going to press with all these anonymous sources was pretty crummy journalism. None of it could be verified.

Until Today!

Geez boges.....they saw the video with their own eyes. And they were accused of lying. I said earlier that none of them would put their reputation on the line for a coule of lies about some dumb Mayor.

Turns out they were dead on right.

I hope, but have little chance of seeing, those who castigated this whole thing as made up, come here and post a word or two. I just read tons in this thread that is laughable.

Sarah Thompson....he looked space out on cocaine (ass grabbing night).....and ya know, she is probably spot on !

The fake video, w a fake actor, now that line should live in infamy, we had what.....10 pages of silly idiotic ideas of some here who said "it could be an actor"....'its a made up video" ......and when pressed to show us 1.....One....1 single made up video that is convincing to any degree.......cricket chirps.

Ahh....its a sunny day on Toronto, despite the rain.

Buh bye Rob....or as Tim Leiwicke calls him...Tommy Boy . (thats an insult to Tommy Boy, Tommy was smarter)

Still, one could still feel self-righteous for not believing it was true. Having an arbitarily higher standard of evidence is truly a virtue, even if it makes one look naive.

I understand and to some degree agree with you.

However, the answers given for not believing were razor thin and really into the realm of "ya gots to be F'ing kidding me"

Dont want to convict him on evidence that was seen by three parties? Ok , no problem.

To call those parties liars? Ha !

To offer up explanations such as fake mocumentary video (when no one on earth thought it possible) is pretty stupid.

Actually I was just being sarcastic about the holier-than-thou people on this forum who believe what they want to believe and create unreasonable standards of evidence regarding what they decide they don't want to believe.

He's said there's no way to prove if he's doing something illegal in the video so no charges will likely result.

To ordinary people, it will be accepted that Ford's smoking crack. However, police can't prove from a video that there's crack in the pipe.

The only person they could charge is Lisi.

With extortion, for trying to get the video back for Ford.

This is completely unexpected.

I have a new respect for our Police Chief for managing this investigation and keeping it so leak-free, as well as keeping the current administration from scuttling it.

Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase !

Oh, I'm betting some of those "anonymous sources" the Star et al relied on were from within the force.

Really? I thought it was completely inevitable.

That the video was going to be recovered on a HD a few days ago?

I got the feel from most people on here that the video was long gone but the circumstantial evidence was overwhelming.

I knew he wasn't smart enough to keep the truth from being revealed. And the truth, to me, was obvious.

And the hits keep on coming:

I've wondered whether the mayor is driving around impaired on his daily rambles ...

On July 28 police watched Lisi and Ford meet behind a school. After they left police seized garbage that Ford threw out and it contained two empty vodka bottles.

Has Ford resigned yet?

One has to wonder why they couldn't have confirmed this months ago.

The Senate scandal exploding again, and now the video of Ford has been recovered and "is consistent with previous media reports". These have been the most interesting last 2 weeks for Canadian politics in a long time!

I guess that's the only apology the Star reporters are going to get from you, even though you outright called them liars. Very big of you.
