Black Dog Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 I'm not even close to defending Ford here. His behaviour is clearly contemptible. That video needs to come out. It's way to easy to call the Chiefs motives into question. I remember people on this site doubting what the Chief said in regards to a 911 call where Ford allegedly called someone a Bitch. It goes both ways. If i was one of those people (dunno if I was) I'd be happy to eat my words today. That said, it's not impossible to believe that the Chief was covering for Ford then and is throwing him under the bus now. Things change and I imagine that, having seen for himself the evidence of the mayor doing drugs and cavorting with criminals, Blair would know better than most when the jig is up. Quote
Black Dog Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Was just about to post that. I personally think it's Randy, their dirtbag other brother. Quote
Black Dog Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Though it is weird that he hangs up as soon as the hosts start asking if it's the mayor. Quote
guyser Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Interesting but stupid strategy on the part of the Fords. The lawyer wants the tape released, thinking it cannot be shown what he was smoking. Ok, lets go there. So what if it doesnt? It does show him in a known crack/drug house, with known users some of whom are dead now.It shows him smoking something, and it is no stretch to figure out what it was, no one in would ever put tobacco in a glass pipe when the pack of smokes is sitting right there. So it only proves horrible optics for Rob not to mention it shows that at the least he revels in hanging with known criminals in crack houses Now DoFo (thanks bd) said just a moment ago that its 'a horrible conflict of interest for the Chief to say he was disappointed " and that any complaint ot the POlice Services Board is a waste of time.....hang on it gets good here....because the Chief goes fishing with some members of said board. Really Doug...fishing w members is a bad thing, but hanging with drug dealers, criminals and murdered people is not so bad? He did go on and keep harping on the media as the blame in all of this. His words were that they have been out to get us since Rob announced he would run. And Rob called into AM640 last night under another name and said some really dumb things such as who knows when they are videotaped, and who hasnt some issues in the closet. When the hosts said Rob is that you? He hung up. Pathetic stupid ignorant and childish is what these two morons are all about. Time to say bye from municipal politics boys. And and by the way, the Conservative party has turned the Welcome limo around and are driving as fast as they can away from you. Back to Deco Adhesives and making lables. Stay there and shut up. Quote
jacee Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 is this... Rob Ford? If it's Rob ...... He's having a meltdown. ... He's admitting to substance abuse problems. ... He's not resigning, but likely going on medical leave for treatment. And that's the sensible thing for him to do. . Quote
The_Squid Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 The video can't be released. It is evidence in a criminal investigation. Quote
Mighty AC Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Why do the maggots in the media have to make such a big deal about this? So the mayor happens to hangout with drug dealers and occasionally smokes tobacco out of a crack pipe. Who doesn't? Leftist, elitists would probably stop hanging out with old friends if they happened to be into illegal activity, but not Fordy. He's a man of the people. guyser Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 I'd like to see the dates and times from the police surveillance of Ford hanging out with Lisi. I want to see what Toronto taxpayers are paying Ford to do during the business day. . They are all listed in the papers released yesterday. Ford and Lisi were non stop calling each other.....right up to the raid in June. Then a bit of silence IIRC. As to the second question...drinking booze in school lots, partaking in party favours galore and the like. Oh sorry....yes it could very well be cherry flavoured tobacco in that glass pipe. Quote
sharkman Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Ford's next campaign ad: "Vote for me and I'll get drugs off the streets!" Okay, that's an old Jay Leno joke, and a good one. Quote
jacee Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 They are all listed in the papers released yesterday.I'll let the media crunch and publish that. As to the second question...drinking booze in school lots, partaking in party favours galore and the like. Oh sorry....yes it could very well be cherry flavoured tobacco in that glass pipe. Great role model for kids, eh? /key-toronto-councillors-draft-letter-urging-mayor-ford-to-take-action A group of Toronto councillors close to the mayor are looking for a resolution to the crisis surrounding the leadership of Rob Ford, sending a message to him by way of Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly. Mr. Ford is also feeling pressure from the business community to take a leave of absence, with the Toronto Region Board of Trade saying he cannot address the citys priorities if he remains on the job. Quote
Topaz Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Ford is probably going to have a problem with getting more drugs, with the police watch or Ford thinking they are watching. Smokers who go without a cigarette can become hard to get along with if not violent, the Councillors may see some of this in the coming days. Quote

Rue Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Why do the maggots in the media have to make such a big deal about this? So the mayor happens to hangout with drug dealers and occasionally smokes tobacco out of a crack pipe. Who doesn't? Leftist, elitists would probably stop hanging out with old friends if they happened to be into illegal activity, but not Fordy. He's a man of the people. It was one thing to say until they had the tape he has to be given the benefit of the doubt. Now the tape exists. There is no benefit of the doubt so let's review what the big deal is: 1-he wrote a letter of reference for a man with speeding convictions and criminal convictions so that man could get a tow truck driver's license-any one else with that person's status would have been excluded from getting the license-the Mayor used his office to get someone unfair treatment; 2-the person who was benefitted with the above is now on tapes delivering paper bags to the Mayor who goes in and out of bathrooms and acts in a manner that tries to disguise the pick up and drop offs lending to the appearance of purchasing drugs or engaging in pay offs of some kind-certainly not the behaviour of someone above board with nothing to fear; 3-that same person is now under investigation for criminal behavior, i.e., selling drugs; 4-the Mayor denied a tape existed that exists and shows him smoking with a tube-the fact the tape is now verified showing him hanging out with known criminals; 5-so which is it-does a man of the people hang out with criminals in gangs who terrorize neighbours selling drugs? does a man of the people slink in and out of bathrooms? Bottom line is this. Ford has been drunk in public numerous times. Now he is on tape peeing next to his car and purchasing vodka-not just one bottle but numerous bottles-Ford has been spotted in a park meeting his buddy who is now under investigation for drugs and who he wrote a letter of reference for drinking booze. You think that's no big deal? Its more than his stomach that's the big deal at this point. He's compromised his position. The appearance is now that he was extorted into writing a letter of reference for this person or he knowingly engages himself in activities with criminals. Which one is it? Either way its not acceptable for a public figure to place himself in direct conflict of interest and compromise his position which he has done. As a lawyer I can defend him until prove of the video was in,. As a lawyer I can defend him for being a bafoon but no as a lawyer I can not condone him being drunk if he lends to the appearance its in his capacity as Mayor or while driving a vehicle. Yes it is a big deal hanging with drug pushers and making racist slurs. We are way past the point of giggling this away as a few quirks from a loveable drunk. This is a dangerous man on self destruct willing to take down the Mayor's office in his drunken spiral. I was the first to give him the benefit of the doubt and blast the Star for disclosing the story without the video. Now fair is fair, its surfaced and there is no benefit of the doubt. No he can not be charged with a crime but he is a political figure and the people he is supposed to represent should expect better than a drunken, drug addicted boor. His slovenly behaviour has far exceeded the reasonability threshold. This man is in full self destruct. He is going to implode and its going to be a pathetic spectacle. Enough is enough. This is no longer left v. right. This is not about his political beliefs. It is about his poor judgement and behaviour and yes we should all expect better of ourselves and him. It was one thing to down play the football charity issue but to then take his letterhead and write a reference for his buddy-that is blatant political corruption. No its not what a man of the people does. In fact it shows a lack of respect to the people. This is a man who demands someone be fired with no due recourse for sleeping on the job then in the next breath demands the very due process he would deny that worker. .enough Quote

g_bambino Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 I think the media already did. I kinda have to give Ford that one; I too would be pissed off by paparazzi on my lawn and who didn't get off my property when first--and not threateningly--told to do so. The media can be pretty crass and ignorant. Quote
