    The disinformation was spread to distract from real issues, and to make any valid concerns about what the government is doing seem ridiculous. Some of the real and valid concerns are listed in this thread. And based on the typical responses, it looks like they've done a pretty good job programming everyone's minds.

    What about this here then? Not sure if it was mentioned before, but it seems relevant. Canada resettled more refugees than any other country in 2018

    That's nice, but it's just a quote. Things need to be thought out critically, not by platitudes. For example we can waste billions to achieve only a small improvement, or choose not to do that, figure out a more effective way to solve the problem with the same money. I think that approach is at least is worthy of consideration.

    Trump demonstrates he is the leader, and certainly the Commander in Chief. Despite intense pressure by some to attack Iran immediately, he showed restraint. He gave good reasons why he cancelled the military strike.

    Trump is also a master of PR theatre in his own special way. He made sure we all knew about it.

    Corporations can charge whatever they want. When it comes to buying from corporations, consumers have a choice. With the government tax, we have no choice. Whether you're a conscientious environmentalist or not, you pay the penalty.

    Mr. Trudeau has failed Canadians due to his lack of vision. Such uninspiring leadership should come as no surprise, since the man has no prior experience. All he can do is suggest another tax, with no explanation of how it will help to solve the actual problem. Andrew Scheer has at least proposed some more progressive ideas. In addition to making carbon reduction technology profitable, his plan also embraces the reality that Canada's CO2 contribution is dwarfed by countries like China. There is no point in punishing ourselves by wasting taxpayers money on a futile endeavour that accomplishes nothing.

    The man was given a majority premiership of the top province in Canada with no political platform, no track record, and no relevant experience. It makes a mockery of democracy. As far as complaining now goes, Ontarians have exactly the government they voted for and deserve.
