Are humans really responsible for climate change?
OftenWrong replied to Canuck100's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
1) It does not inspire peoples confidence if the "range of predictions" is too great. One might also visit a psychic to get predictions. 2) Blip in the graph. Weather. Climate is measured over longer data sample. -
She had all the power she needed at first. Until she called her "snap election".

I remember reading information from climate scientists that said the effects would not be that noticeable for about 100-200 years. Difference between climate and bad weather. -
Study history. She screwed herself, and the country.

I have always had it right. The Chinese and the Globalists are not the same thing, if that gives you a hint to what people are discussing here. -

We can also use our brains. Obviously the tariffs hurt both sides, and that is most likely their actual purpose; only they hope tariffs will eventually hurt the Chinese more, where the US economy can sustain the damage for longer time. This is an economic war of attrition. -

I am sorry if you cannot accept that this thread is about tariffs Donald Trump imposed on China. It is not about other countries, or the Jews. That's not what happened. You just assumed a bunch of nonsense and started spouting off your usual tangled mess of confused ideas. Learn what words mean first. -

If the position decades ago was to oppose China, then I don't see any inconsistency here. Everything is just right. At no point was there inconsistency in our position to take action that limits China's power, preferably such that our own power increases. That is the game here, still is and ever was. I know these are complex matters that require much careful thought and consideration, which is not exactly everyone's forte. As to your absurd ravings about some definition of "globalists", you keep insisting on it, but that is the definition you have chosen, not I. It has nothing to do with what is being discussed here, and I see no reason to change my use of it. If it is true that Donald Trump likes to use it as well, that's fine. President Donald Trump and I agree on that one. -
Does Trump know what Tariffs are?

I was talking about multi-national corporations and their ability to influence laws in countries that they do business in. People cannot vote for corporations, so they must seek out and elect government leaders who are willing to limit the power of the corporations. Absolutely nothing to do with the Jews. I know what I am talking about, but have no idea what you are talking about. You see rather discombobulated, Bob. Now go and twist your knickers in a bunch. -

I have no idea why you insisted on bringing antisemitism into this. Maybe you and @Michael Hardner can let us in on the joke, since he finds your comment so amusing. -

If by that you mean, I would go with doing business with USA while you perhaps side with the Chinese, I agree. -

Amused that China and other third-world countries, who use their lower standards to make even more profit should be penalized by applying tariffs? Or something else -

Globalists and their supporters are angry that Donald Trump has imposed tariffs, because it means they can no longer cash in on China's unfair advantage. -
The Barrack H Obama Legacy
OftenWrong replied to Carlus Magnus's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Actually a nice job is to de-escalate expensive, useless military operations without conceding their failure. Syria and Russia have been allies for many years. It would be difficult to change that without risking much more than it is worth. -
No, the only thing that remains to be done is political annihilation of the left. There is no recovery, and no chance for redemption. Much too late. So-called progressives have taken the left to an extreme end. The pendulum has reached its limit, and liberalism is caving in upon itself. Across this great land, Canada, we can see the collapse already taking place. Like the calving of once mighty glaciers... beautiful, magnificent destruction. And in Ottawa, you can hear the sound from a distance.

It doesn't work that way for me. Too simple. The issue is complex and requires more reason and understanding.

That's part of the point, there's no way it would be. Such violence is heresy in the mainstream christian belief. Can't say for sure if that's the case for Islam.
