  1. robomarx thinks Greenland should have secure borders, but the US should not have secure borders. It's why robomarx should be deported with the illegal aliens.

  2. The fact that WW2 began based on the same logic you're espousing and the UN Charter (its creation spearheaded by the US) was created to prevent more similar wars If you want to create new international norms without international law where involuntary annexations are routine by any countries that think they can get away with it, including America's enemies, that's a really stupid and dangerous foreign policy not in anyone's interests and could easily lead to many new wars, maybe even WW3. Also, the places you listed became a part of the US prior to the UN Charter when European empires still ruled, and some joined voluntarily by vote or purchase Threatening Denmark and its allies with war if they don't sell Greenland isn't peaceful. Trump/Vance are even more arrogant than Bush/Cheney were, or Putin. Neither have any clue what they're doing. They just like smashing things and claiming it's theirs like a big bully baby in a sandbox. Mommy should have spanked them more growing up.

  6. WW2 began because of Treaty of Versailles punishment and UK appeasement. Different logic and circumstances. The U.S. has sought Greenland many times in the past. And some were spoils of war. Nothing magic about the UN Charter...many wars since then...including Canada.

  7. So I'll deal with the Beave's question. I do not believe Trump will forcibly take Greenland. Instead I think he'll flood the zone with military bases and American businesses. This will bring a prosperity that the people of Greenland will not want to lose. In essence...he'll buy Greenland's cooperation.

Can ANY of them even try to explain with a straight face how this is anything different than when Hitler annexed Poland or when Putin annexed Crimea? What I see is them all avoiding the topic

  12. Foreign Military Sales (FMS) are less than 1% of total US GDP, and all defense spending is around 4% of GDP. So the answer to your question is that the bulk of weapons sales would continue to be the U.S. Department of Defense (War). Foreign defense contractors (including those in Canada) benefit from U.S. domestic and foreign military sales as subcontractors...this would also continue sans U.S. NATO membership. Some old reasons (national security vs. China/Russia) and new...natural resources extraction. In the Cold War past, the U.S. had numerous military and "research" bases in Greenland.

  16. So - canada greenlights a loan package that will allow ukraine to sign a deal with westinghouse (brookfield owned) for 4.5 billion dollars Carney sends Freeland to the ukraine who agrees to 'hire' her as a 'consultant'. Carney is godfather to Freelands kids btw, that's how close they are. Freeland will now be helping facilitate that deal and others that will benefit brooksfield while carney claims "blind trust". It makes a lot more sense now doesn't it. We are so getting screwed by these people. Yes, reports and political commentary from late 2025 indicate that a Brookfield company was awarded a reconstruction contract in Ukraine valued at approximately $4.5 billion. This has been the subject of significant political debate in Canada due to potential conflicts of interest involving Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. Key Details The Contract/Funding: Brookfield reportedly secured a contract related to Ukraine's reconstruction. The amount is frequently cited as $4.5 billion or a related figure, with some sources linking it to a $4.3 billion aid package pledged by the Canadian government. The Controversy: The issue has raised concerns over potential conflicts of interest because Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney was formerly the Vice Chair of Brookfield Asset Management and holds significant stock options in Brookfield. Critics argue that government decisions regarding Ukraine aid or infrastructure spending could financially benefit Carney personally. The Company's Role: Brookfield is an investment company that focuses on various sectors, including infrastructure, clean energy, and AI infrastructure. One of its subsidiaries, Westinghouse, is also involved in supplying nuclear reactors and fuel to Ukraine. Denials and Explanations: Brookfield and the Liberal Party have stated that questions about the firm should be directed to the firm itself. Carney's assets are reportedly in a blind trust, and he has maintained that he is in compliance with all ethics rules. Some sources also clarify that Canada is providing loan guarantees backed by the IMF, not a direct "pouring" of taxpayer dollars to the company in the way critics suggest. The funding is part of broader international efforts to attract private institutional capital for Ukraine's recovery and infrastructure needs, a model co-led by other major firms like BlackRock and JPMorgan.

  17. This independent investigative journalist has compiled financial data for 575 First Nations in Canada. Link to publicly available data below his explanation. CDN First Nations wealth, and wealth per capita, taken from Financial Statements. CDN First Nations are required by law to make public their Financial Statements But in 2015 Justin Trudeau said 'Don't worry, though I swore an Oath to uphold the laws of Canada, I'm going to selectively enforce them based on race.' He should have been evicted on this alone. However, most bands do file them, or at least most Financial Statements are available, (but not always up to date). But they are PDF's which makes it extremely difficult for us plebs to comprise encompassing financial data. I suggest it's on purpose. So I downloaded all 575 Financial Statements, and manually scraped the data for accuracy. I wanted to see the CASH of each band, and the ACCUMULATED SURPLUS (Net Equity). Then I scraped the Reserve population of each band, and correlated the PER CAPITA WEALTH. The CASH position is not the total Financial Position, like Investments, Receivables, etc, but just CASH! Like the Wiikwemkoong who have $755M in cash (from a settlement). Why do we have to keep funding them? Private sector accounting uses "Net Equity" to show Total Assets - less Total Liabilities Band Statements use Canadian public sector accounting standards, and the term "Accumulated Surplus", which assumes perpetual funding. Samson Cree Nation expects perpetual funding. Each Reserve population is published as a webpage, not a database, but I scraped that too, to get a per capita correlation. On Reserve is directly tied to Band wealth, where off Reserve is not dealt the same. Why do some bands have no one on Reserve, but yearly funding? To add transparency I have made all 575 financial statements available for download, as well as the spreadsheets complied to make the data for the webpage. If you find an error please let me know. Why did I do this? Because there is no accountability in First Nations financing. We pay for them as a single entity, but many band members are far wealthier than the average Canadian per capita, and so when will it stop? Can't we ask a financial questions, or is that rAcIsT? I hope this helps people who want to know where their taxes are being spent, and find corruption within government. I did this so everyone can investigate, to reduce misinformation, and to bring accountability. I don't make money from X and I don't want any money from you. But once see the Financial Statements, and factor taxpayer funding, an entire new picture comes to light, and many more questions arise. Far more than just when will it stop, but WTF is going on?? LINK: Canadian First Nations Financial Data I think that most Indigenous are just like you and me, governed by people who tell lies, grease their friends, make shady deals, and foster division to detract from accountability. Band members sued their own Nation to get Band financial statements. Federal Court Orders Thunderchild First Nation to Disclose Financial Records - NetNewsLedger

  28. Did Denmark annex Greenland? . GPT-4o mini Yes, Denmark annexed Greenland in the early 18th century. The formal annexation occurred in 1721, when Denmark claimed sovereignty over Greenland, establishing a colony. Over time, Greenland remained a part of the Danish Kingdom, although it gained home rule in 1979 and further autonomy in 2009, allowing it to govern many of its internal affairs. However, Denmark still retains control over foreign affairs and defense. Did the Biden administration ever express interest in Greenland? Yes, the Biden administration has shown interest in Greenland, particularly in terms of its strategic and environmental significance. The U.S. sees Greenland as important for several reasons: Climate Change: Greenland's melting ice sheets due to climate change draw attention to issues of global significance. The administration emphasizes the need for cooperation with Greenland to address climate challenges. Strategic Military Interests: Greenland's location is crucial for Arctic security, and the U.S. maintains Thule Air Base there, which is a key military installation. The Biden administration continues to monitor developments in the Arctic region, particularly concerning China and Russia's activities. Renewable Energy: Interest in Greenland's natural resources, including potential for renewable energy developments, aligns with the Biden administration's focus on clean energy alternatives. While the direct interest may not have reached the levels of former President Trump's proposal to buy Greenland, the Biden administration’s approach reflects a broader commitment to Arctic engagement and cooperation. I don't care for the language that Trump has been using with regard to Greenland but he's always been very blunt and straight to the point when he speaks and this issue is no different. If Biden(his puppeteers) had managed to reach a deal with Greenland, he would have been hailed as a genius and great statesman.

  32. It's not Greenland, it's the times. You are citing events that happened over 200 years ago. America's greatness culminated in its leadership of forging a new global order, headquartered in New York. With that came a set of rules that ensured it would be at the center of everything. Economic, military, political. Does the current leadership measure up, In terms of character and intelligence, to the decades of American leaders that built that world order? Only a minority of Americans, and almost no one in the domain of allies think so. I'm not saying anything about the morality of this play, just that it seems utterly unachievable without more support.... And as such it seems like a reckless effort.

  34. I believe that the U.S. should do whatever is in the national and allied interest, as in the past. The U.S. had designs on Greenland going back to 1867, and many times since with many presidents. The precedent is not new or surprising given current world affairs, the same concerns that led to many U.S. bases (up to 17) in the past. There is a 1951 defence agreement between Denmark and the United States that supports continued American footprint on Greenland. I read that Denmark's military is smaller than the New York City police department, and is incapable of holding Greenland (from any potential adversary). Just because it's Trump doesn't change the calculus or history. Hell, Canadians in Stephenville, Newfoundland still commemorate their post WW2 American air force base (Ernest Harmon AFB). I have audio tapes from my old man entertaining the troops there in 1957.

  42. Just saw a statement from Carney on CPAC, following his meetings in Paris to form a "coalition of the willing" to fight for and support Ukraine. (Meanwhile in Ukraine, nothing says "willing" like men of all ages are being grabbed off the street, shoved into vans and sent to the frontline meat grinder.) He word-salads around a lot, like usual, but the gist of it was that Canada is trying to build up its military in order to provide boots on the ground in Ukraine. The more destruction, the more infrastructure damage. Carney, via Brookfield, $$ benefits $$ from continuing the war. YOUR sons, sons-in-law and grandsons......not so much. I doubt we'll be seeing HIS daughter-who's-now-a-son, in boots over there.

  46. 1...Are they generous, please explain , perhaps provide some examples...Military has some very strict arcs of fire, in which they have to operate, Yes the generals and everyone in the military has their own agendas, how to improve their jobs and completion of tasks, and the lives of their subordinates...other than that they are controlled on what they can or can not do... 2....Very few of NATO Countries have the same abilities, but they all have one thing in common, the ability to conduct ground , air and Naval combat in high intensity environments...And although we do not have marine units, , our Infantry bns do exercise in amphibious landing with our naval forces...And yes the US does have a huge SAR force, Coast Guard, army, air force, and navy, along with many civilian organizations... 3.... Thats a myth, Our regular forces may exercise maybe twice a year due to lack of funds, fuel, ammo, and other support units maybe once a year if they are lucky....As for the trades being more specialized, thats what happens when you have a small military does not mean we are better just that our troops have a wider knowledge base....In the Canadian military a mechanic trains on specific veh types, each type requires a special course ie LAV, Leopard tank, wheeled vehs, etc... 4.... I think it is a little more than a division, US airborne forces are not conventional in any means... US army has always had a ground force in Alaska...Anyone operating in the artic has to have a high degree of winter warfare, that's what the specialize in ...Just because we have winter here in Canada not all troops are qualified for winter warfare... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Army_Alaska LAV does have "some" advantages over track...But nothing out performs a tracked veh in all environments, LAVs get stuck constantly in rough terrain or heavy mud...which tends to be where they operate the most.. 5...What RO -RO ships do we have....anything we do use is rented or contracted....and they do not do hostile areas . We have LAVs because they are much cheaper to operate, "That's our militaries theme, brought to you by the cheapest bidder"..........yes they provide superior operating parameters in built up areas..., but they are lightly armored, limited weapons, less survivability limited movement in mud, and extreme terrain. If you had seen the vehicle grave yard in Afghanistan i think you would change your mind about LAVS....ask the Russians what they think of their wheeled IFV...ask the Ukrainian what they think of their Bradly's... Canada does operate on the same battle field as the US, we use the same tactics, as the US for the most part on every operation we are part of a much larger US force...Our battle groups or Brigades are Light mechanized Infantry, and will be used like any US light mechanized unit... Our doctrine and roles are the same, as any matching NATO unit, which is why we are interoperable....Take our Battle group in Latvia, it comprises 6 or 7 different NATO units which make up the brigade everyone operates the same way...
