It's weird that left4rds suddenly care about cancelled energy projects, and the cost of energy. You'd almost think this has more to do with "cultists looking for a reason to puss and moan about Trump".3 points

I'm very aware of the fact that you can represent yourself in court... but it's a bad idea . Anyone who represents themselves has a fool for a client. This is almost comical, you (like most of us) have no idea how much you don't know in a situation like this... and you're advocating for defending yourself against a prosecutor who actually does know stuff. I sincerely hope no one on the fence listens to a word of your nonsense. Down vote that fool...2 points

I stand in awe... PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: please be advised that the stupidity on display here can ruin your day, If you're on the fence, please ignore nonsense partisan posts, buy the book or do your own research. Not only do you need a lawyer, you need that lawyer before giving a statement on fight night IMO. As I recall, you can't have them present in an interrogation but you can consult with one prior to it. It would be a mistake to think you are simply having a pleasant conversation with the responding officers. Many people have firearm legal insurance (a group retainer sort of thing) that allows 24/7 access by phone. Your milage may vary but I would talk to them before giving any statement. I would also want to avoid giving one while I was shaken (or perhaps injured) and in a state of shock.2 points

I was under no illusion Biden was too old to be POTUS. The fact that the US picked these two walking corpses to lead them makes me question their judgement.2 points

"Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre is calling on the federal government to amend the Criminal Code to clarify the reasonable use of force in the face of a high-level threat, such as a home intruder." PP made an announcement yesterday calling on the Carney government to amend the criminal code to remove the long list of requirements placed on residents when defending themselves and their family. Apparently the present law is complicated and very involved and one must be some kind of lawyer to understand it. That must be changed to simplify it and make it understandable for everyone. When a criminal breaks in to a person's home, the victim just doesn't have the time to go through all the complexities of the law to figure out what to do. He simply has to act to do what he can to protect him and his family at that moment. The law presently doesn't work that way. Victims have been charged by police for defending themselves and their family from dangerous offenders armed with a gun or other weapons and have been put through an expensive legal system for many months. Or they have been locked up in jail before finally being exonerated. It is very expensive to have to hire a lawyer to defend yourself and your family just because you were trying to defend yourself when criminals invaded your house. This has to be changed. PP proposal will change the complicated laws that exist now to simplify it and make it more reasonable for someone to defend themselves and their family.1 point

You are looking for an interpretation that DENIES the responsibility for the role guns play in the huge excess deaths in America. Guns do kill many more people HERE, because they are far easier to kill with than the next tool (knives) available. YOU STILL have not acknowledged the FACT of their essential ROLE in those excess deaths. Easy access to guns are clearly responsible for MANY DEATHS HERE.1 point

The conservatives have twisted minds and lack judgment, and if your brother-in-law comes to take a lawnmower from your yard, you will have the right to kill him, that’s what will happen with their plan or a guy will ask for money from your convenience store’s cash register and the owner will pull out a gun and kill him. CONSERVATIVES ARE spirits THAT COME FROM HELL TO DISGUST US.1 point

Holy f'ing ret4rds, Batman! The cultists who pretended that Biden was fine for 4 years, and didn't notice a single thing wrong with him until he had a normal day at the office during the debate with Trump, are onto their 30th "Twumpo is a sicky-sick" conspiracy theory now 😂 FWIW, I don't blame you for not waiting to post until you have something intelligent to say. No one lives that long.1 point

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Democratic_Party_presidential_primaries Biden's presidency was plagued by the aftermath of COVID. The uninformed US population blamed him for the inflation COVID caused. It's so ironic because Trump is about to cause inflation to explode. You say that with a straight face when you can see that Trump is an unfocused doddered that writes like he's in 3rd grade.1 point

Trump could not have achieved a second term without the stratospheric buffoonery of Democrats.... and on multiple fronts simultaneously. Some folks (even right here on the forum) have repeatedly warned about the predictable backlash that would occur if total madness was allowed to breed and prosper unchecked by reality and common sense.1 point

You're losing this one badly. His point is perfectly valid. Your concern over dead kids is entirely dependent on how they died. Normal people would be very sad to hear a kid was murdered. And they would be just as sad to hear he drowned in a pool. The point would be that the child died needlessly and now those that are left behind will suffer. YOU only care about the kid who was shot. You insist that there's some "Difference", that the kid who died in the pool doesn't count, only the one who was shot matters. You say you can't even understand why @User doesn't see the difference. There's no difference. A child is dead who didn't need to be. But you care about the 'shooting', not the child. THIS happened a few weeks back, i didn't hear you say a single thing. No gun. Guess that means this kid doesn't count. Police seeking witnesses after boy, 15, stabbed to death on downtown Vancouver street - The Globe and Mail How about this one just a few months back Woman, 2 children stabbed to death in Fayetteville This one? Mother Stabs Baby Boy to Death While Giving Birth I could go on. It's amazing how many kids you don't give a crap about as long as there's no gun1 point

Argentina's total trade with the US is 26.1B. Ours is 1.3T. A bit of a difference.... Argentina is expecting great economic growth....good on them. I'll take your word it's because the 'far left' is gone... You're a hard line right guy who supports Trump policies and schtick, but slam Carney for not being able to get a tariff free deal, or any deal yet. You see no conflict of argument with that?1 point
-
That's what happens when someone you do ~75% of your trade with hits you with tariffs in an effort to wear you down economically. Too bad we didn't have Poilievre to save us, but it wasn't meant to be.... For what it's worth... Argentina's 5% growth will outpace the US' 1.5% - 1.75%. So the point is.... Argentina is expected to see great growth in 2025?1 point

This is something we see from the left more and more. I mean sure, exflyer is a severe case where he posts really stupid examples but all over you see left wing posters stretching farther and farther to try to somehow make it seem like the conservatives are as bad as the libs. It's almost desperation. Exflyer posted a list the other day and it's quite obvious that he lifted it from some left wing site, and there was like 20 "conservative" scandals that supposedly occurred under harper and he demanded ... DEMANDED that ANYONE prove that even ONE!!! JUST ONE!!! of them were not true. I very quickly proved one of them was not true (like the first one i grabbed) and provided several sources that anyone could have found which proved very conclusively it wasn't true. Several of the others were the same at a glacé. Yet someone out there is obviously insisting this crap is true. That and there's an insane number of lefties who want us to dump PP, "Not because they care but for our own good you see". As if they're deeply concerned about wanting us to do well next election.1 point

In canada it's known as "punishment by process". That's where the state knows you'll be found innocent but they don't like what you did so they deliberately drag you through the system in the most painful manner to punish you for your 'crime', and even though you're innocent and will eventually win they've sent a message to others that they will destroy you if you daaaaaaare to defend yourself like that.1 point

He coulda had a chance if he hada learned how to pivot to what was important to voters instead of playing US style politics, but then Carney came along and as the facts show, not a fair fight for whom Canadian's preferred. Manufacturing activity slows.... wonder why? Stockpiling of materials and components just delays impact of tariffed product and hit to American's wallets....but it's coming. U.S. manufacturing slowdown drives drop in global supply chain activity Aug. 13, 2025 9:17 AM ETThe Industrial Select Sector SPDR® Fund ETF (XLI)By: Rob Williams, SA News Editor 5 Share Save Play(2min) Comment (1) Global supply chain activity contracted in July as U.S. manufacturers sharply reduced purchases of materials and components after stockpiling in June ahead of the expiration of a “tariff pause,” according to the GEP Global Supply Chain Volatility Index. GEP Global Supply Chain Volatility Index fell in July (GEP, S&P Global) The index fell to -0.35 from -0.17 in June, indicating greater spare capacity worldwide. North America saw one of the steepest declines, with its reading dropping to -0.33 from -0.06, reversing a sharp June uptick driven by front-loaded orders to sidestep potential tariff changes. “When we remove companies’ front-loading inventories and rerouting goods to avoid tariffs, the underlying picture points to slowing manufacturing demand worldwide,” John Piatek, vice president of consulting at GEP, said in a statement. “The July data shows a clear pullback in orders, with U.S. manufacturers preparing for lower demand going forward.” Regional trends Asia’s purchasing activity stayed slightly below trend, with weakness in Japan and South Korea offsetting a rebound in China’s factory buying. Europe’s industrial recovery faltered, as its index dropped to -0.30 from 0.01, with Germany’s growth slowing. The U.K. posted a sharper contraction, with its reading falling to -0.58 from -0.41. Category Insights Inventory stockpiling eased, suggesting little concern over supply disruptions or price spikes. Labor capacity and transportation costs remained stable, showing no signs of inflationary pressure. The GEP index, which is produced with S&P Global and is based on surveys of 27,000 companies in more than 40 countries, measures how much supply chain capacity is being used. Positive readings indicate stretched capacity, while negative figures show underutilization.1 point
